A supportive, idea-sharing thread for those with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. We're a mixture of newbies, nearly theres, there and maintaining and we know what it's like to have what can seem like a mountain to climb - but we also know we can do it!

Nothing is off topic except referral codes 😊

Hi all, i’ve been absent on here for a while but so pleased to have picked up new thread. So inspiring to hear how well you are doing and welcome to new comers.
I am 58jabs in having begun just over a year ago at 136kg.
I am now 97kg (delighted to be under 100kg) but weight loss is slower now than ever.
I had major stall christmas time and fiddle with doses. On 8my currently. Think I would be better at 10mg but also trying to build good habbits less reliant on zero hunger from higher doses and also trying to stay on MJ as long as I can.
I have been working g through my stock pile but probably need to do next order soon so they can see recent prescription at 10mg.

Any good deal recommendations? Got good prices from Numan for a long time but think that's come to an end now.

MooBaggage · 20/02/2026 09:20

Hi @Reginaphalangeeeee - good to see you! I'm with you with the pace now of weight loss - it's sooooo slow. I just keep telling myself at least the trajectory is downwards, even if over months, rather than weeks...

I'm ordering from Bolt at the moment - they're very good on WhatsApp if you need to message re: any gaps (due to using the 5th dose!) and I always google for a discount code which takes about £30 off. I'm paying £249 with them for 10mg. Blooming expensive, but I'm happy with the service they provide, so will stick with them, probably, if it stays at around that price.

Hi @Reginaphalangeeeee and all!
@alltablenochairs looking great!
@MooBaggagehow are you feeling now?

I’ve made some progress and am seeing a downward trend. I played at the whole game from september to end of Jan, and my weight crept up and down a few pounds. On the 3rd week of Jan, I was teetering back to 13st and I was not having it!

Today I am 12st 5.7lb!! Thrilled its coming back down! I knew a little was water weight but this is great progress for me. I optimistically hoped to be 12st 3 next week and I am sure I won’t quite reach that but thrilled with this so far.

My next goal is 12st 1, as that will take me to a BMI of 29.9 and marked as overweight!!! I can also feel size 16s are too big for me now, but my apron tummy means I am not quite able to reach for 14 jeans yet - although some stuff is ok!

i also understand the toilet paper theory better - the last month people have really noticed the extra loss, and I can see it in my collar - i don’t just have bones, i even have proper dips above!!

MooBaggage · 20/02/2026 12:32

@Darlinghag hurrah for the whoosh!! It's so exciting when that happens 🥰

I'm still very sore - different bits of my ribs and back seem to ache each day 🙄 Am completely fed up of it... Just hoping it starts to ease up soon - I'm soooo fed up of having to try and sleep in the only position I can get comfortable in. I've given up on any weight loss for the moment - I'm not eating more, but I'm moving a lot less and a lot more slowly.

Get well soon @MooBaggage and welcome @StatisticalStitches - everyone here is so supportive.

@YellowStockings and @Darlinghag - I completely get the feelings of anger and shame as I felt that at the start of the New Year. I was angry with myself for not doing something about my weight sooner and allowing it to get to the point it did. In reality I was (am) a busy mum and wife, holding down a senior role and I placed myself and my health bottom of that list. And I had tried to lose weight many times, but nothing worked, or it did for a few months, then the overwhelming hunger would hit and I would crack, then in a few short months I'd end up even heavier than I was before. It was a vicious cycle that I never broke, until now.

SW: 15st 5.5lb
CW: 11st 5.5lb
Loss: 56lb - 4st, woohoo 🎉
Current BMI: 28.3
Target Weight 1: 12st 1lb (overweight BMI) - Achieved!
Target Weight 2: 10st 1lb (healthy BMI)
Target Weight 3: 9st 5.5lb (6st loss)

My next mini target is seeing a new 'big' number on the scale, so being 10st something, which I'd like to be by the end of March.

I've added a further target weight of 9st 5.5lb as that would be 6st weight loss. I am still not certain about my final target weight - 9st seems around the right weight at the moment, but I wonder if it won't actually be a number in the end; it might be a feeling that I am exactly where I need to be and then seeing what the scales say...

StatisticalStitches · 21/02/2026 21:36

Hope you feel better soon @MooBaggage

Thanks @Bunnyjo congrats on your loss.

I injected Wednesday evening (1st 2.5mg Mounjaro) and feel like I've been hit by a bus today. Nauseous, absolutely no appetite and wiped out so much I've been in bed all afternoon. I made myself eat a few grapes this afternoon and this evening i could only manage two small Ritz crackers. No protein today, which I know is bad. But I've managed to keep sipping water which is at least something. Hoping tomorrow is a better day 🤞

MooBaggage · 21/02/2026 22:03

@StatisticalStitches I'm sorry it's hit you so hard. I was OK on 2.5mg but had the same reaction when I moved to 5mg - it settled after a couple of weeks though, so hopefully you will too.

When I was feeling really nauseous I turned to protein shakes as at least I was getting calories and protein in - chocolate protein powder with some ice, milk and a dessert spoon of cocoa powder - but whatever flavour works!

Keep hydrated and keep resting - fingers crossed it passes soon, and allow yourself to nibble on whatever you feel up to eating xxx

Great to be here again. I definitely need this support & accountability here.

I just ordered another 10mg from Numan. Mine are £183 currently.
If fancy a discount code let me know. Found that suspending /pause keeps them offering enticement price to stay.

I still have 2 pens in the fridge& like that buffer. Honestly over half term I am cross with my eating & feat wasted the week. I can't really afford this medication & so annoying to eat junk with kids. I need to get serious again, cleanse my diet & choices & remember why I am doing this & have to keep going!!

MooBaggage · 22/02/2026 10:09

@Reginaphalangeeeee yes please re: the code - that price is really good, so I'll take a look.

I want to stick to 10mg, but if I don't shift any weight this month, I might move up to 12.5mg for the final push!

GiveMeWordGames · 22/02/2026 10:28

Hey @Reginaphalangeeeee nice to see you on the thread again and well done on getting below 100kg.

@StatisticalStitches hang in there! Hope you're feeling better now. Counterintuitively, some people find eating a bit more can actually help the nausea but it's hard when you don't feel it.

Hurrah for a whoosh, @Darlinghag .

Reginaphalangeeeee · 22/02/2026 10:34

I'm using 8 mg of my 10mg pen but feel I need to push back up to using all 10mg to get me on track again. It's hard balancing the utter exhaustion when on higher dose and being fully invested to eat very well.

My loss is slow but still going down in the right direction I guess.

I will PM the code to you it gives £100 off the full price and then again £100 off next month if you share a code with someone who uses it.

I think their full price is £309 but like I say, always had discounted price. They offer discount if commit for 3 months and more if 6months etc.

I still can't believe what a good deal SheMed was and so sad money is now a barrier. £99 was a steal and affordable longer term for me.

Right just need to remember how to PM on my phone here

As DH and I are both on MJ it’s not cheap by any stretch of the imagination!

I must be silly because when I go to send private message, it doesn't find users? Says invalid user.@MooBaggage and @Bunnyjocan you try sending me a message and then I can send you the discount code

@Reginaphalangeeeee @MooBaggage I'm with SwiftDoctor and find them really good too. I think they are £249 for 10mg but there is usually codes for £5 or £10 off
Often the very cheapest companies are not good on customer service or are quite restrictive in who they will supply so it's finding a happy balance in my opinion.

I've just had a maintenance call with them this week and was very impressed. You pay £30 for the appointment but then get a code for £10 off all future orders so you can recoup it. I explained I don't think I am really ready for maintenance yet but not sure where I want to stop (it's that balance between being healthy and looking too old and shrivelled at my age). I'm in the 11s with a current BMI of 26.9 so I used the Team RH goal weight calculator which said I still need to lose 2 stone and that terrified me as I think I would look really unwell at that point! Shock
The doctor was lovely, gave very sensible, reassuring and practical advice plus they are very flexible with ordering for maintenance patients so I feel much more positive about moving forward.

Darlinghag · 22/02/2026 16:06

I just need to scream about a non scale victory!!!

I AM IN A 34 BACK BRA!!!!!!! Been wearing a 36F/G for a while on the tightest clasp, but didn’t feel I could drop down, until I tossed some bras in my Next order so I felt like the shipping was worth it. 34FF!!

I am also now a 14/16. Lower half is a 16 in proper jeans although the waist its loose (pesky apron belly skin), but I also bought a size 14 and its sitting lovely on me.

I think the loose skin and apron plays tricks on my mind. When I am dressed in things that flatter - I really do not look fat at all (I am still fat, objectively 🤣🤣).

dimples76 · 22/02/2026 20:18

@ReginaphalangeeeeeI would like the discount too please, if possible.

It is much harder eating sensibly when the kids are off school.

Reginaphalangeeeee · 22/02/2026 23:31

@dimples76 i have PM you.
I don't check messages often as normally on app on phone, so poke me here 😉

Yes eating well with kids home is hard!!! This week there have been too many crisps in and because travelling ending up getting mcdonnalds and generally unhe as lth snacks I couldn't resist.
Oh and pancake day happened! Nutella by the spoon eek!!!

MooBaggage · 23/02/2026 05:58

Well I'm back to the weight I was before I fell, so hopefully the bruising and inflammation is subsiding and the scales might start to move downwards again this week! I even managed to find a slightly different sleeping position last night, so am feeling tons better this morning 😊

I realised this week that the MJ is helping me be mindful about everything I buy to eat (e.g. I was buying sweet treats for a friend earlier this week in an M&S food shop, which has all my favourite sweets and chocolate and I didn't buy anything for myself...), but still doesn't fully control my drinking habit 🙄. I've switched from red wine, which now tastes horrible to me, to Prosecco, but managed to put away a bottle of it on Saturday night - and I don't even get tipsy drunk any more - just get a headache and heartburn....

Pre-MJ I was drinking far too much, so I'm way more in control than I used to be, but it's making me reflect that as and when I do start to taper down, I'm going to need to control my alcohol intake very carefully, as it seems to be such a strong pull for me. I should probably go teetotal, but my mind isn't there yet! I do only now have alcohol on a Saturday night, so don't feel a huge constant need any more, but wish I could be a 2 x glasses max person, not a bottle 🙄

Just Monday morning musings - hope everyone has a good week 🥰

GlowGetter · 23/02/2026 14:15

@MooBaggage Can you find a non alcoholic drink that feels like a treat? I like the cans of 0% gin and tonic and also kombucha. Hard to get a kombucha in pubs I know but nice at home instead of a glass of wine

MooBaggage · 23/02/2026 19:31

@GlowGetter I'm not sure to be honest - I love my lime and sparkling water, which is non alcoholic and refreshing, but I'm not sure I can convince my brain that a different non alcoholic drink would replace gin or prosecco! I'm pleased I've cut down significantly over the past year, but definitely haven't got it fully cracked yet. I think giving myself a hard limit of 2 x glasses max will be the next step 💪

OP posts:
QueenOfHiraeth · 23/02/2026 21:09

@MooBaggage I'm with you on the alcohol thing. I don't drink regularly but when I do drink I like to have a few, I'm not somebody who enjoys just one small glass of something, definitely more quantity than quality!
The idea of not drinking fills me with dread and I don't know what would fill that gap for me either.
I've committed to not drinking at home for Lent so I can still drink if out or with friends but not having those sneaky G&Ts at home so will see if that helps me break the habit

Zebracat · 24/02/2026 20:07

Mounjaro has definitely impeded my enjoyment of alcohol, it mostly tastes nasty to me now. I still want beer with a curry, but 2 mouthfuls is enough.
i want to decorate my bedroom but first I need to declutter. I don’t know what to do about clothes. Seem to have so many . I’m scared to get rid of the big ones in case I pile the weight back on. I’m not sure I can tell if clothes fit or if they are too big. As I’m writing this I keep thinking it should be easy but I’m honestly defeated, must be something psychological going on. I wore a cardigan the other day that was just huge, I thought this needs to go, but now I’m thinking maybe the oversized look is good?
I had a look at my knickers, thought I could start there, but everytime I picked out a “ big” pair , they were just a 12 or 14. I’m paralysed. I wore some yoga trousers at the weekend that I’ve only had for a month, they weren’t falling down, but they were flappy, Dd told me they were too big, but I’m not sure. I think I’ve got dysphoria or something. Meanwhile my room is bursting with clothes and I keep buying more. Has anyone else been like this? How can I get a grip?

alltablenochairs · 24/02/2026 23:28

@Zebracat I'm finding it hard to get rid of some of my favourite clothes as well. I was wearing a pair of leggings earlier that are far too big for me. If it wasnt for the fact I spend most of my life sat down, said trousers would have fallen down a long time ago. My benchmark for getting rid of clothes is 'do they hand off me or fall down'.

Good news for the kiwi fans. Lidl have boxes of 750g gold kiwis at a pretty decent price. So I got a box. And played kiwi roulette. DS got a nice yellow ripe one. I got one that was deceptively ripe but yeesh it was as bitter as it gets. The rest are spending a few days in the fruit bowl because I'm not making that mistake a second time!

MooBaggage · 25/02/2026 07:33

@Zebracat your clothes dilemma really chimes in with the fact that the whole losing weight thing is (for me) as much a mental battle as physical - if not more so now, as MJ helps with the physical battle, leaving us to cope with the mental ones!

For me, I have had to throw (via charity shops!) all clothes away as soon as they get too big - I've wanted all big things out of the flat as soon as I could. This is now stuff I bought from Vinted in the last year that is now too big and I don't have any of my original pre-MJ clothes at all.

It's a sign for me that I am absolutely not going back now. I know I might be on MJ, or a form of it, forever and I'm all good with that - it's medicine and I need it, like I need my thyroxine and other meds.

Have you got a friend or your DD that can go through clothes with you and give you an honest view re: whether things are now too big? Then other people bigger than you will be able to have your clothes and make good use of them.

Then once you bag some up, it's time to get on Vinted and order a few things in smaller sizes - maybe have a limit of £30 or something - that would get me 4 - 5 items - just to start trying out sizes in different makes?
