Mounjaro/Wegovy with >5 stone/30kg to lose - thread 12!

A supportive, idea-sharing thread for those with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. We're a mixture of newbies, nearly theres, there and maintaining and we know what it's like to have what can seem like a mountain to climb - but we also know we can do it!

Nothing is off topic except referral codes 😊

I am very jealous of anyone who is able to wear bras that only go up to an F/G cup! I want to be that person one day...! 😄

But my underbust and waist, comparatively, is small, so I have a proper hourglass figure, which I suppose is something (if you ignore the newly flat bum) 🙄

I think this means that no matter my size, I will always be grumbly about some aspect of it 😬

cant recommend these halara ‘but lifting’ leggings enough. They do work like magic and are super comfy.
I could try to take a picture to show how the support works if I can figure out how to & anyone has seen the adverts and wants to see how genuine.

MabelSpan · 22/04/2026 15:41

@Reginaphalangeeeee I keep seeing Halara ads in my FB feed and wrote it off as a scam! I would love to see a pic of them working their magic! 😀

StatisticalStitches · 22/04/2026 21:36

Week 9 weigh in for me this morning, I'm now down 9.7kg 💪 I'm happy with my progress. I'm now on 7.5mg of MJ, and have my specialist nurse review next week. Hopefully they will be pleased with how I'm doing.

Congrats on all your nsv and losses. I have been super busy with work so haven't caught up fully with all your wins recently.

P s. I hate bra shopping

Ok here goes. Please remember I have a long way to go with weight loss still but these leggings do work. They have a band that goes under your bum to lift it.
I mean I do still have a bum, but with 40kg loss this year it is much smaller and flatter than it was but these leggings shape it well.

@Zebracat i looked back at my bra orders and when I was 82kg I bought 34GG. I am now 74kg and the 34GG was on tightest hooks so got 32H (Bravissimo).

I am not convinced local pharmacies, however well intentioned, are experts in weight loss injections, especially when patients are getting closer to normal bmi and maintenance and they may start getting more cautious about prescribing outside their experience. I would have a discussion with your Pharmacy their thoughts around long term maintenance and if they don’t have experience in the area, consider moving to a maintenance friendly online specialist pharmacy.

Spectacular!!! 🍑

@Reginaphalangeeeee Is that your bum??!!! It's effing AMAZING!!! Like one of those bums you see in adverts! 😍😍😍

It's payday tomorrow - I will be ordering a pair of Halara leggings immediately!

Agree.

Reginaphalangeeeee · 23/04/2026 11:16

Thanks for the confidence boost ladies. I’ll put that down as a NSV.
It is absolutely my bum, looks better in these leggings and apologises for such a close up but was trying to show the under bum lifting band.
I wear size 14-16 and the tummy support in these is decent. Having an apron tummy I’m never quite sure the best approach as either way looks squashed.

MabelSpan · 23/04/2026 14:02

@Reginaphalangeeeee are they comfy and would you say their sizing is true to size? I was having a look on their website and now have a list of things I would like to get once I get closer to goal😊

And a beauty of a bottom like that is most definitely an NSV! 😄

QueenOfHiraeth · 23/04/2026 18:30

@Zebracat I agree your pharmacist is wrong. I have worked in this area and think many community pharmacists are not as up-to-speed as they should be.

I am with SwiftDoctor, who I highly recommend as I have found them amazing (if there is ever a query you can Whatsapp them, they reply pretty quickly and always sort things out). I hate people offering discounts so am cringeing at myself here but I do have a £10 off first order if you wanted to try them and that helped you. I think someone else in this group is with them too so may also have the same offer but can't remember who that is.
I had a maintenance appointment with their GP , Dr Bana, who advised me to reduce very slowly, minimum 2 months per dose, and stop at that dose for a while longer or go back up one if food noise or appetite surges. It cost me £30 for the consultation but I now get £10 off every order. They also allow me to have gaps in ordering now I am on their maintenance list

Reginaphalangeeeee · 23/04/2026 20:03

Thanks @QueenOfHiraeth that is a useful template to know. So if you are on 10mg, it would be then 2 months 7.5, 2months 5mg and 2 months 2.5.
i think that’s longer than I had anticipated paying and suspect with hunger levels rising paying out for maintenance maybe very frustrating. I suspect I will have a battle when I get there. This adds to my dilemma of increasing dose as it’s further to come back down again. It’s a way off for me to consider maintenance but thank you for info.

@MabelSpan I bought size large (which is a uk 14). I am in next 14-16 jeans currently so I think correct. Also have a pair of halara wide leg work trousers size large so think accurate across style.

They are so comfy!!!
These are 7/8 length ultra sculpt, high waisted butt-lifting. They have the butt-scrunch which I think accentuates the bum more. I am going to maybe try the non butt-scrunch ones for a more subtle but, I mean, I always have a top over my bum anyway, so it doesn’t really matter, it’s only you lot that I have put it on display for 😉

I would think the ones that are not high waist would not be as comfy for me. The work trousers I have also high waist and again very stretch material. When they arrived, I worried the material looked cheap as stretchy, but once on they so cleverly look very smart!

MabelSpan · 23/04/2026 20:16

@Reginaphalangeeeee I like high waisted too. Thanks so much, now I just need to lose the weight!😊

You could look on Vinted to check out as an interim. They seem to hold value so sure you could sell back for same amount as they are so popular. Lots of people sell new with labels because I think returns are a bit of an effort. I did manage to return a pair no problem (was asymmetrical waisted jeans) though.

QueenOfHiraeth · 23/04/2026 21:09

@Reginaphalangeeeee The doctor did stress this advice was not cast in stone but they were finding that slower withdrawal seemed to give better results (and, since I have the willpower of a gnat, I am happy to listen!)
I also read an article in the Daily Fail by a woman who had lost and regained weight many times including after using Ozempic. She had then lost it again with MJ and was now maintaining. Her company told her to come down one dose each month but to stay for 6 months at the dose that was her favourite, her most successful or half her top dose.
I guess we all just have to find what works for each of us

nailslikeknives · 23/04/2026 21:11

@MabelSpanif you’re still looking for bras, I’m also 36f and currently very happy in an M&S minimiser bra. The cup size may come up a bit smaller than non minimiser bras depending on your shape etc

MabelSpan · 24/04/2026 09:03

@nailslikeknives thanks for the link, it was @Zebracat asking about bra sizes.

RobinEllacotStrike · 24/04/2026 13:13

Thank you for the useful info on reducing - I haven't done as much research as I probably should.
I'm on MJ 15 and my next pen is 12.5, so I have planned to start reducing slowly and that advice reinforces what I was thinking.

I tried spacing out shots a bit (8/9 days) but had one horrible evening of raging food noise & I really wanted to eat everything in sight. So I want to avoid that at all costs. Well hoplefully not £250pcm costs by YKWIM.

MooBaggage · 24/04/2026 13:32

@RobinEllacotStrike I was planning to tritrate down by spacing out doses when the time comes - but it's difficult when there is so little advice out there...

I'm trying a new provider this month - have got a video consultation with AYP healthcare. Their prices seem fairly good and no discount codes, so if they keep their prices stable I'm hoping I'll stay with them - but will see how the video consultation goes...!

@MooBaggage it’s not easy to see prices on their site unless enter consult?
im still with Numan. Happy with them provided I get £100 off each month.

Feeling annoyed with myself. Eaten well all week. Injection day tomorrow. Think scales are looking to a loss despite being premenstrual 🤞🏻and I have increased protein levels this week.
I was so tired today as not sure why but insomnia last night.
day of work, travelling back, it was late & ended up getting take away wingstop!
I mean I know it’s protein right, but it felt so dirty, fried & bad for me I am full of remorse & regret!
At least I didn’t get chips or dips etc but I’m lying here awake, exhausted and disgusted with my stomach churning.
i wish I made better choices when out & about/limited healthier. Urghhh all the fat & salt will surely just mean hard work & losses gone to waste! It wasn’t even that nice.
