A supportive, idea-sharing thread for those with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. We're a mixture of newbies, nearly theres, there and maintaining and we know what it's like to have what can seem like a mountain to climb - but we also know we can do it!

Nothing is off topic except referral codes 😊

@alltablenochairs I felt quite emotional reading what you wrote - your earthy realness about your autoimmune condition coupled with your hope and optimism really is inspirational - even if you are self-confessed 'foul-mouthed and grumpy, banging on about accessibilty'. You too, @StatisticalStitches - you really put into context what this is about. Truly inspirational ladies ❤

I am trying to get back on track with weighing and posting on a weekend, after missing last weekend and doing it midweek.

SW: 15st 5.5lb
CW: 10st 9lb
Loss: 66.5lb
Current BMI: 26.4
Target Weight 1: 12st 1lb (overweight BMI) - Achieved!
Target Weight 2: 10st 1lb (healthy BMI)
Target Weight 3: 9st 5.5lb (6st loss)
Final Target: 8st 8lb - 9st 1lb (I think...)

3.5lb to go my next mini target of 10st 5.5lb - I'd like to think I can hit that around Easter time, but let's see...

DD is back from uni this weekend for 5 weeks, so we've resolved to go on lots of walks around us; we live in rural Cumbria, so there's really no excuse not to enjoy what is on our doorstep. I do need more knee surgery for a problematic ACL and meniscal tear, but on good days I do need to do more physical activity. DD has always been a mummy's girl and we think this will be the perfect way for us to connect, catch up and enjoy the slightly longer and warmer evenings.

Also going to book a spa evening for us both to enjoy and I just had to treat myself to a much smaller swimming costume as I tried the on one I wore in August and it fell off me 😂

Peachee · 22/03/2026 13:45

Hi guys, back with an update.. I’m on week 5 now.

Have lost 7lbs on 0.25 dose. Week 3 I didn’t have any suppression but witnessed an awful car accident which I think affected me psychologically a bit.. felt a bit more restricted last week but the food noise was definitely creeping up.. and I was eating a lot more again. Yesterday I started 0.5 and today I have been violently sick despite hardly eating anything and don’t really feel hungry at all.. has anyone else had this? Is this normal? Arghhh…

GiveMeWordGames · 22/03/2026 15:07

@Peachee sorry to hear about what you saw, and also about your nasty SE. That all sounds rough.

I'm not on Wegovy but the move from 0.25 to 0.5 must be quite similar to going from 2.5 to 5 on MJ as it's doubling the dose and that is definitely a point where SEs are most likely. I certainly had a few gastric SEs then, but not as bad as you're describing. On MJ people often count clicks to take an intermediate amount between the two when the SEs are too much but IIRC you can't do that with wegovy pens?

I hope things settle down for you.

MooBaggage · 22/03/2026 16:14

Hi @Peachee Yes I really struggled when I went up to 5mg from 2.5mg. I wasn't sick, sick, but was extremely nauseous and found it very difficult to eat for the first couple of weeks. I remember stopping when walking down the street, doubled over because I felt so sick. It did calm down by week 3 and I then stayed on 5mg for a while and moved up to 7.5mg very slowly - titrating through 5.5mg/6mg/6.5mg etc. to try to avoid the same thing happening.

Hang on in there - keep trying to drink water and try protein shakes and smoothies when all else fails, to keep calories up. Hopefully it will calm down for you soon xx

Hi guys thank you for the responses. I have had 2 crackers and didn’t manage to keep those down, was sick and have been in bed all afternoon. After waking I had an anti sickness tablet and a small potato so I’m really hoping I can keep this down.
I wasn’t aware of titrating and have had a look online at the amount of clicks for each amount.. this looks like a much better idea which I’m going to try next time. Really hoping this will even itself out. Thank you for the great advice.

alltablenochairs · 22/03/2026 23:20

Oh no @Peachee that sounds awful in more than one way. I've never tried wegovy myself though so wouldnt be able to comment on it. Hopefully though things begin to settle down and you're feeling better soon.

My phone's news algorithm clearly knows I'm interested in GLP1s because it offered me this article yesterday. Although it's a tiny study it's nice to read something reassuring on the muscle front.

Hoping on quickly to share this with you lovely ladies. I will be back properly soon, I hope.

I received this email from Asda on 18th March, (this is a short version).

"From April 2026, an updated design of the Mounjaro KwikPen is being introduced in the UK. We wanted to make sure you knew about this change and what to expect when your next treatment arrives.
What's actually changing?
The change is to the pen only - nothing else.
With the new design, the plunger inside the pen will visibly move further forward with each weekly injection. After your 4th and final dose, the plunger will sit near the end of the pen window, making it clear that the pen is ready to be safely disposed of and all treatment has been administered.
The new design will initially appear with 5mg pens from April 2026, with other strengths following as we use up our stock throughout the year."

So, it is finally happening 🙁 and will affect all suppliers as they use up their existing stocks, hopefully they will also notify us as their stocks change over.

MabelSpan · 23/03/2026 11:25

Here is a bit more of the email from Asda

Your questions answered
1. Why is this change being made? The updated design is intended to reduce leftover medicine in the pen and make it easier to confirm that the final dose has been taken. It also addresses a common misconception that the pen contains a 5th "bonus" dose. There is a small amount of liquid remaining after the 4th injection, but this is intentional and isn't a full dose.
2. So why is there liquid left over at all? The extra liquid is there to make sure all 4 full doses are available. A small amount is used up each time the pen is primed before injecting, so the extra liquid accounts for this.
3. Will this affect my supply? No. This is a planned change by Eli Lilly, the manufacturer, and no disruption to supply is expected. We currently have stock to support your ongoing treatment.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 23/03/2026 12:29

Interesting that it is initially 5mg pens. Bet that is where a lot of maintenance peeps sit and where people first switch on about the fifth dose.

i have a bit of a stash at 7.5mg so there is no point me buying anymore just to bag an extra dose.

MooBaggage · 23/03/2026 12:56

No weight loss for a few days for, but an NSV this morning! I ordered my first size 16 t-shirt on Vinted - it came today and as I unwrapped it, I was really gutted at how small it was - literally said out loud to myself that it was a real shame as it's such a nice t-shirt, but maybe I'd be able to wear it in the late summer/Autumn.

Tried it on anyway, to see how far out the sizing is - and it fits! Am just 😮 and also 🙄that my brain can't marry up my actual size with perceived size....

It's more of a fitted fit - definitely not loose and baggy - but I'd wear it out right now (if only the weather was decent...) but also will be able to wear all summer as it hopefully gets a bit looser on me!

So I've bitten the bullet and have put my remaining size 20 tshirts on Vinted today - am just keeping my size 18s and will only now order size 16 tops - victory!!

When I started on MJ my standard top size was a 24 - 26 and I had just purchased a 26 - 28 top, so this is just mind boggling - that my boobs are anywhere near being OK in a size 16 is 😮😮😮

Thanks @MabelSpan that’s helpful to know. I am sad this is actually happening 😩 basically means a 20% increase in cost as like many of you, I rely on that 5th dose to make it somewhat financially achievable.
I wish I could afford to stock pile a bit now, but it’s just too expensive.

@MooBaggagegreat news about the size 16!
i bought size 14 trousers a few months ago and still can’t believe they fit. Convinced it is just because they are stretchy.

To cheer myself up from very very slow progress, I decided to do a body re measure as not done this in months.
Im in need of the NSV and ok.. so a total of 28cms off my waist, 27cms off hips and 17 from bust is amazing! But… my waist measurement. I’m hung up on it as 103cms… well that’s still over a meter around me. I’ve let this bother me today 😩 so wish I hadn’t got the tape out. I don’t plan to do it again until sure I’m less than a meter around.

MooBaggage · 23/03/2026 20:29

@Reginaphalangeeeee those cm losses are brilliant! But I get the feeling that sometimes, nothing is good enough or quick enough... But you are doing brilliantly 😍

Does anyone have any non-wired bra recommendations? I am completely stuck with where to try. I only have Molke bras, but they're all too big and they don't have any stock in what I think will be my size. I think I'm around a 34J - don't want to spend too much, but really do need to try to find something for what is hopefully an interim period as I continue to shrink!

Any recommendations much appreciated!

I havent worn wired bras in years. Can't stand the way they dig in and rub. No matter how many times I have been fitted they just dont seem to suit me. Although other parts of me seem to be shrinking, my boobs havent (K cup!)

I got some non wired ones from Temu of all places. Considering I only paid a tenner they're pretty decent

alltablenochairs · 23/03/2026 21:32

Because no-one apart from DH and my bestie know about the MJ I can't really share this IRL. Hoping it's OK to share it here. This happened 2 days ago.

When I started MJ I was considered as Obese class 3 or to put it in blunter terms 'super morbidly obese'. I wasnt even on the end of the NHS chart. Now I'm just plain old overweight.

Wish the damn things would shrink. So far they havent though and if anything it looks like they are increasing!

QueenOfHiraeth · 23/03/2026 22:17

@MooBaggage There's a bra being hawked on TikTok at the moment called Curlady which I was debating trying. it has a very deep back which appealed to me although I don't know if I could manage it
Apparently they advise to size up in cup size though

SecondCircuit · 24/03/2026 06:55

@Reginaphalangeeeee and @alltablenochairs - these are great achievements!👌 Congratulations!

@MooBaggage - I wear MandS bras. I find them very strong and supportive, and tha’t’s a first and foremost requirement in my case as my boobs remain big.

I keep losing (still on 3.75mg only, after half a year, today another 3lbs loss in spite of overindulgent weekend) which is wonderful but my boobs love their size and won’t budge…

dimples76 · 24/03/2026 07:18

Congratulations @alltablenochairs . That is my next target.

I just bought a pull on fuller cup bra from the Big Bloomer company - it is so comfy, will definitely be buying some more.

Less said about my weight loss (lack of) the better.
