How frustrating that he's still waiting @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I hope an appointment comes through asap.

@eibbed999 I really feel for you because I lived that way my whole life feeling like I was losing a battle, so I really empathise. It's a horrible feeling. Here's hoping splitting the dose will work or trying going up to 20 occasionally.

PearlTeapot · 16/02/2026 13:50

I'm off to my volunteer job shortly and I know one of the others has made a cake. Cake is my nemesis! I was going to just have a short piece but actually I'm going to resist and say no. It will be hard. And the fact I'm already thinking about it sucks, food noise is that you?

OvertiredandConfused · 16/02/2026 16:41

Following my posts just before Christmas about severe stomach pain, I had no joy trying to contact my own GP and so eventually contacted the GP via health insurance that comes with my husband‘s job. She referred me to a gastroenterology consultant and I’m just back from having an ultrasound.

I’ve got gallstones. Seeing the consultant next week to discuss next steps but the consultant I saw for the ultrasound said that he would expect it to be a routine removal. He was very relaxed about the fact I’m on Mounjaro and confirmed that it is weight loss, rather than the medication itself, that can trigger gallstones. He sees no reason why I wouldn’t be supported to continue with the jabs for the last bit of weight loss (probably about 1st) and then maintenance.

Meanwhile, I’m still averaging a loss of 1.9lbs a week and, fortunately, haven’t had another gallbladder attack for three weeks. I am still on 12.5mg and we’ll probably stay here until I get to my goal. Definitely able to eat more, even feel hungry sometimes, but I think that’s just helping me prepare for maintenance!

Thank you so much to @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne and everyone else who encouraged me to speak to someone.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 16/02/2026 17:10

Today has been really difficult for me and really highlights how much my eating issues affect my mental wellbeing.

I woke up this morning hungry. Really hungry for the first time since starting Mounjaro 6 weeks and 6 days ago. Had a good breakfast and it went away. Phew!

But then I got really hungry again mid morning. Had a healthy snack and it went away. Same at lunch time. The hunger pangs are back with a vengence but at least they're satiated with healthy food choices.

But from around 2.00 oclock I was feeling it again and I haven't had 2 snacks since starting (although it is what my dietician wants me to have). I managed to hold out until 'snack time' and a second healthy snack.

Afterwards I was still raging hungry, but at the same time feeling full. Which is the weirdest feeling. All day I've wanted to cry. It's been so easy for 6 weeks and now it feels like it's going to shit, like it always does.

Except now, 2 hours later, it's changed again and the hunger has switched off completely and I feel so over full that I'm contemplating giving the fish I got for dinner to the cats.

What the hell is going on?

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 16/02/2026 13:18

@eibbed999
I'm so sorry you're really struggling.

Here's a thought. I know that some doctors use MJ off-label and give some patients 20mg doses.

Think about injecting 20mg. I know it isn't on the schedule but it has been done in the past. I've done it myself recently and the difference was astounding.

But then what happens when you run out of mj before the end of the month ..I think I have to order when my prescriber says it's time ,ot when I would like to
I have a feeling,a strong feeling this is what I need 20 mg per dose ..I've taken the last two mj 15 doses a bit nearer each other ,but again I'm worried I'm going to run out before they let me reorder...I don't have a supply of pens in the fridge, just one that I use

Springflowers2 · 16/02/2026 17:12

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 16/02/2026 13:19

Also, it wouldn't surprise me if a 20mg pen was issued at some point.

After all, a 7.2mg Wegovy pen recently came out.

I really hope you are right ,it would massively help me on my journey

Springflowers2 · 16/02/2026 17:22

eibbed999 · 16/02/2026 12:21

Thanks @PearlTeapot - it is tough right now. I've been on 15 a while, but after a few days it's like I'm not on anything at all, so I'm hoping that spreading it through the week might help. Mine are definitely not hidden calories like yours - mine are great big fat take aways and trips to the shop for a bag full of chocolate bars! I hate it, but feel completely helpless. I've always been like this, my whole life, apart from when I started MJ - I'd say from last March through until about August, it was amazing, I felt like a completely different person. Like a normal one. Since then it's been a slog - up, down, all around, losing, gaining, fighting through it every day. I'm not convinced Wegovy will work either, but if this carries on I'll switch, nothing to lose. I genuinely think my body/mind have reached their limit - 5 stone off. And of course I'm happy with 5 stone off, but I have another 6 to go!

Good luck with your new regime, and be kind to yourself - you did amazingly well under your circumstances, and now you're paying attention and not letting yourself slide. You're brilliant.

I'm feeling the same ,I finally had a loss of a couple of pounds ..but that is the only loss this year ..I'm very worried I've reached the end of the road with mj ...or more to the point ,mj has reached the end of the road with me .
Maybe my body has said enough..this is a new set point your not going any lower .
As a teenager I've been under 14 stone ,but I'm 5 foot 10 ,and last time I weighed 15 stone as an adult ,the nurse at my doctor's practice told me not to lose to much more 😟.
I didn't particularly look or feel thin at 15 stone ,I think that is definitely overweight for me .
My calories are quite low ..I've not gone very 1200 ..well possibly I'm hoping that's why I've not been loosing in 2026 that I'm going over 1200 a day ..I'm hoping is that rather than mj not working..but the food noise is creeping in ..
I can see me easily putting the whole lot back on ,while I feel like this ..and that's while I'm on 15 mg per week..I definitely definitely need to be taking a higher dose .I started at 27 stone ..so I've plenty more to go ,where other people after over 10 stone off would be finished now ..
It's so hard

I've not got that sort of money
It's £325 a month

Springflowers2 · 16/02/2026 17:30

I've got a wegovy pen in my fridge.. unopened, not touched
It has crossed m mind to open it and take it with mj
But I don't want to make myself ill ,so I haven't.but I have thought about it

I think you should shop around.
When you make a first order, all the pharmacies offer a good discount.

I've been paying much less than £325. More like £225.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 16/02/2026 17:31

I know its scary, but I do think there is something in the theory that your GLP receptors can become resistant to the medication and need a break. It might be worth taking a few weeks off and then starting from 2.5mg again. If nothing else it will save you some money, or allow you to create a stockpile to help with an increase to 20mg if it doesn't help

If you've only been on MJ for seven weeks, it's time to increase.
Are you on 5mg now?

Yes, with a new patient discount (which they all offer) you'll get a 15mg pen for that price.

But how do you reorder then
Because when I moved over to checkup they nearly didn't take me on , because they said I'd left it to long between orders so wanted me to start on a much lower dose ..and was because I'd bought one extra pen before the price increase
So if your ordering from different places ,they must be letting you go over 4 weeks between pens ..which checkup noticed with me and we're not happy

No, I'm still on 2.5 mg. I'm scared of going up. I'm scared of the price increases. It's very expensive here in Sweden and there's no option to shop around.

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 16/02/2026 17:40

I can’t get my head round how differently we all react to it. I have been on MJ 9 months now, I was diagnosed with the gastritis in December and dropped from 5mg to 3.75mg after a short break to see if that helped. Last 3 weeks I did 4mg but had bad food noise so this week took 4.25mg. This weekend has been a side effect write off again with D&V and today awful nausea all day. I’m amazed such a low dose can have such an effect after all this time, it’s not even the clinical dose!

I know I shouldn’t complain as I am losing steadily and it’s cheaper this way, but I would love to feel a bit less unwell on it. I have at least 6 months to go before I can consider maintenance and that’s if I continue to lose at the same rate, which I understand is unlikely.

I’m a scientist and would love to know what factors drive the different responses - it clearly isn’t BMI so I guess hormones, insulin resistance level etc?

Take a picture of your most recent pen. That's all you need to do. Then tell them what date you actually started to use it.
You can just make up a date which fits in with what you're asking to order.

Springflowers2 · 16/02/2026 17:41

Luckily we still have the golden dose ..I thought they were getting rid of that in pens ,so I've been able to bring a couple of doses closer together sometimes.
It does help a bit
