Does anyone use medicine marketplace? I've used zava for a while but medicine marketplace is a fair bit cheaper. Wary of ordering from someone different though and am put off by having to go through the whole uploading photos and proof of weight etc. which I don't have to do with zava - just tell them my current weight.

Or any other recommendations for cheaper suppliers? I don't have the energy to switch every month but could do it once now for one that's consistently one of the cheapest. TIA 😀

I was always loyal to Zava and Asda for the last year, but they’re significantly more expensive since the price hike so I thought sod that. I finished my backlog this month and ordered through Fylde clinic. No codes needed as they’re the cheapest for my 2.5mg dose (not sure about others). I was seriously impressed. Authorised by 8am next day, delivery the following day. Delivery was free unlike Zava/Asda. I’ll certainly be trying them again. Oh and they said they charge £1 for needles/wipes - I didn’t need any but they sent them free anyway.

Well done @UsernameShmusername2024 that's fantastic! It'll be my anniversary next month, and I will not be celebrating losses as big as yours - but I will be celebrating sticking at it!

I have always moved around chasing the discounts and have used about 7 different providers. I've got quite used to the whole palaver now. But for the last 3 I've stuck with Getweightloss - they don't do discounts, but are consistently very low priced each month (currently £238.47 for 10mg, £247.98 for 12.5mg, £270 for 15mg). First order I had to do a video of me on the scales - easy enough once you get your head around it - plus send ID (pic of driving license) and pic of last prescription. All onto their 'portal'. Approved quickly, sent next day - it got lost (thank you Royal Mail!) but after a week they sent me a new one free of charge, no issues at all, fairly quick response from customer service chat. Following months all I've had to do is fill in my current weight and order - no effort or extra uploading at all. I think I'll stick with them as long as their prices stay like this.

Week 49 and 1lb off bringing total loss to 8st 2lb today. Slow going the last few weeks but I’m due a whoosh next week if my weightloss pattern stays true to form🤞

@UsernameShmusername2024 I’ve used MMP since my first jab, never had any issues with them and their prices are consistently the lowest. The monthly videos are a bit irritating (mainly because iPhone cameras can’t be flipped in video mode, my fault for having such a rare phone brand🙄) but they’ve always been accepted despite my lack of video skills. No photos required though.

@Missingducks
Your plan is perfect apart from this bit:

"Friend who has offered a lift doesn't need to take you, but can bring you back"

How will I get there, then?

🤣

Had missed the no bus bit and was concentrating on someone being with you after GA. Soz

@UsernameShmusername2024
I change suppliers every month.
It takes five minutes to fill in the forms.

Don't be sorry!
It was a brilliant plan till that bit.

The cats are really the easiest bit.
I've got friends who will feed them.

Leaving at 04.30 means I don't have to spend the night before in a B & B in Paisley. I can get it all done in one day.

My plan was to join when I come of monjroro or get near maintenance
Do they still go by points where you can choose what food you want to spend your points on ,or is it more like slimming world now ,which wouldn't work for me being vegan

I haven't read about how it works for years. I think I was just a member out of habit. But the last time I did try to follow it you could do it either way, count points or freely eat a wider range of 'free' foods.

Cheers for replying
I came of Mumsnet to look it up on line ,then forgot..can't even remember what I did instead

Thanks @ketra @fattybumbumnomore @eibbed999 @Fffreeeeezing For the feedback on MMM and others - will have a look at the other recs as a video every month puts me off even thought I know I should do what I can to minimise cost!

Good luck finding the right one for you! Getweightloss is marginally cheaper than MM, though only by pennies. For me it's the not having to do a monthly video that wins! Lots of people will have good and bad experiences with different companies, you'll get into a groove.

Has anyone had to get rings resized? My engagement ring and another ring of sentimental value are too loose to wear now, one is 18ct and one is 9ct. I’ve had a quick look online and prices seem to indicate anywhere from £50 to £150!! I’ve tried the plastic ring inserts but they are rubbish and just swing round on my fingers, I’ve got a 22ct plain bangle that’s also dangerously loose.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 14/02/2026 18:36

Right, I'm sorted for the hospital.

A friend has made a definite commitment to take me and is willing to leave at 04.30.

Just need to make a plan for the cats but it'll be fine.

As long as DS can walk..... and he'll have to ring people up if not.

@Iwouldratherbesinging getting rings resized is a minefield, but go to several shops and ask them.
I've got a few that need doing myself.

Very glad you have a plan Broon, I googled it but I'm the wrong side of Scotland I'm afraid (Edinburgh). We're all behind you.

Went out for dinner last night and had that silly feeling of 'I wish I could eat more'. Then I remembered I'd rather be smaller than have starters in a restaurant. It was delicious though- a Persian restaurant. YUM.

I got my rings resized last year, but made bigger because I hadn't been able to get them on for at least 10 years. It cost me £270 for 3 rings. 2 months later, I started MJ, and now they are all to bloody big 🙄

Billybingbong · 14/02/2026 19:06

Im glad to hear youve got sorted @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne . And your cats are gorgeous, so beautiful 💕

I did exactly that 2 summers ago, we got my husband’s done too and had them replayed and it cost £900! Now I have had to add the plastic coils to keep them on! I think I’ll get a metal strip added as a keeper once im where I want to be. Till then I have other rings I’ll have to wear in front of them.

TragicMuse · 14/02/2026 19:15

Oh I am glad you’ve got a solution @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I was thinking about it and trying to puzzle it out.

£270!!!!!! Eek!

user593 · 14/02/2026 20:26

I inherited some rings two years ago but I’ve been holding off resizing them until I’ve finished dieting. I’d really love to wear them though 😫 They’re both platinum.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 14/02/2026 20:37

Regardless of the cost, if you can afford it, I strongly recommend getting rings resized. This isn't my first weight loss journey and the last time I lost ten stone I also lost my engagement ring 😥 it fell off and I couldn't find it, and can't afford to replace it.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 14/02/2026 20:43

This sounds weird, but I'm struggling a bit with getting enough calories in sometimes. For instance, today I fasted until lunchtime like normal (jabbed last night, didn't feel hungry), then had a cheese omelette and carrot sticks for lunch. That kept me full until around 7pm when I had a butter (fake) chicken curry with rice and veg. So healthy meals rather than 'diet' meals, but still only around 900cals. I keep thinking about having some chocolate or gin, but it just doesn't appeal, and would only be empty calories anyway. Today is an extreme, but even on 'hungry' days I'm only having around 1150-1200 cals. Would you try finding ways to increase the calories or just enjoy the weight loss? Losing around 2.5lbs per week at the moment which is nice but a bit more than recommended.

PearlTeapot · 14/02/2026 21:57

If you feel good and have energy then I’d not add extra calories for the sake of it. Maybe just a protein drink or similar. The my protein clear drinks are 20g of protein for 100 calories.
