I hope it’s okay to start a new thread as we are getting dangerously close to the end of thread 1

My current stats are

MJ 2.5mg just taken dose three
planning on staying on 2.5mg for my next pen
SW: 13 stone 9.4lbs
Week 1: lost 11 lbs
Week 2: lost 3 lbs
Total weightloss: 1 stone (a small jack russel terrier)
GW: 9 stone 7

We have some newbies joining mid month so let’s cheer them on - we’ve got this ladies!

Wk 5 weigh in and 3.8 lbs off - just snuck into the 14s! 23.3 pounds in total so staying on 2.5 again. Focus this week is more protein.

SW: 16 st 9 (5ft 7)
CW: 14st 13.6 lbs
GW: 12 stone

23 pounds in 5 weeks? Bloody hell, well done you. Please can you share what you’re doing? 🙏

2026istheyear2 · 06/02/2026 09:29

@Alltheyellowbirds generally sticking to between 1000 and 1200 calories a day and trying to exercise 6 days a week (although it has been less this week). Very little sugar and, astonishingly for me, no crisps! I do finish my food but am having smaller portions and not really having any urge to snack at all. I’m on 2.5 still which currently seems to be the sweet spot although I have had more suppression this week on it which is interesting.

BooptotheFloof · 06/02/2026 09:53

I am definitely feeling more snackish this week - I’m on 2.5 still for my second pen and I think I might be regretting not going up to 5mg.
I’ll see how I feel in a couple of weeks but at the moment I am thinking about food so much more - still sticking to my calories but it’s definitely harder to stop eating 😭

Today (two days after first 5mg injection) is the first time I've had "urgh, I don't feel right" nausea. It was just after breakfast. I've been having my usual Greek yoghurt, fresh fruit, and granola, but have been eating about half of it compared to before MJ. Then this morning... queasy. Fun times. Anyway it's manageable... and in a weird way reassuring that it's actually having an effect. I felt so normal yesterday I wondered if I'd done the injection wrong this time!

@CatNoBag

Ive always had soft nails and would nail bite. I used to get gels on for 10+ years. I was in and out of some smaller and bigger surgeries so couldn't keep the gel on.

The gel, I suppose from having on so long, and having weak nails anyways, destroyed my nail beds, massive grooves and dips.

I started taking magnesium about a year ago, and my nails are just about back to normal now and very strong (I don't apply any hardener or anything). Good, strong nails. Benefit also to hair. Shoots down.

Am a supplement lady, and would consider magnesium (and Vit D) the best ones. Oh, and Clarins hand/nail cream. Am not a big fan of the smell, but it's the best.

Edited

I do rattle a bit in the morning with my supplement collection!
Scoop of collagen
Small scoop of creatine
Turmeric (arthritic hands)
Calcium with magnesium (recommended by my gynea after total hysterectomy)
Vit D
Biotin (comes with zinc + selenium)

I think that's all of them! My hair has always been pretty good, but my nails started deteriorating a few years before my hysterectomy, and go through phases of being strong then constantly splitting (after a lifetime of very strong nails). They're actually the best they've been for ages lately, not sure if it's down to the biotin and/or Vit D (they're the only new additions since starting on MJ), the MJ itself or me eating less junk!

blackandwhitefluffycat · 06/02/2026 10:36

Also rattling here with a multivitamin/ mineral tablet, extra vitamin d tablet, biotin tablet, flaxseed capsules and ferrous sulphate tablets!

My hair and nails have always been great apart from when I had very low ferritin levels (which prompted the HRT) and I started to lose extra hair (wouldn’t have been noticeable to anyone else though, as I have lots!).

2026istheyear2 · 06/02/2026 10:49

I’m taking vit D, Holland Barrett hair and nail vitamin with zinc, selenium and biotin, collagen, vit E, iron, folic acid (GP prescribed large dose), fish oil and COQ10. I completely rattle and it’s a lot of tablets. I was also taking plant sterols for cholesterol but amazingly that has decreased to pretty normal levels already so am stopping them.

I would note that I take more supplements than most people as I had massive liver surgery and all of my bile duct replaced with some of my bowel 2 years ago so I don’t absorb vitamins that well. I do feel great though since starting all of them and MJ.

Whatstfpoint · 06/02/2026 11:26

Im down almost a stone in five weeks. Im happy with that.

I cleared my snack cupboard and replaced it with seeds, nuts, crispbread and rice cakes.

Other than that my focus is on listening to my body. Not eating when not hungry, eat smaller portions and aim for satiety as opposed to feeling stuffed. So that's lots to get used to. I have the occasional relapse and eat more than I need to, but that's to be managed for the rest of my life anyway. For the first time im positive that I could actually succeed long-term as the wegovy does make my body shut up and I can actually stick out changes for long enough.

Perianth · 06/02/2026 14:21

I'm made up to have reached my first mini-milestone - 1st lost! And in just under 4 week, that feels a bit miraculous. I'm so pleased, and though not expecting it to continue at the same speed for month two, it feels totally manageable to make the right choices.

glutenisthedevil · 06/02/2026 14:39

Now that the majority of us are hitting weight loss of around a stone, have any of your friends/ family/colleagues etc. noticed yet?

I've lost 14lb in 4 weeks (5th weigh-in tomorrow) and so far only my young niece has commented that I look l like I'm slimmer. I can definitely tell in myself - my face, neck, and waist (to the point that my jeans were falling down and I've bought a new pair in the size below).

Not that it really matters as I'm doing this for me, but can't help wondering at what point will it become really visible to others.

No comment yet, apart from my partner, who knows I am doing this. I can see it but seem to be losing from the most silly places - my neck looks scrawny, and I know have slight hollows either side of my chin, and either side of my belly apron. My large arse is still large though!

I lost 4 stone last year, nobody said a word! Even my partner said he couldn't see a difference as he sees me all the time 😭

I’ve lost 21 lbs since 1st Jan and no comments yet. No one has seen me out of my winter coat though!

My DH has lost 3 stone now and is getting lots of comments, but he sees many more people than I do. He is very tall and has a lot more to lose too, so losing 3 stone is not as obvious as it would be on me.

Ha ha! Mine too, and my thighs!

CatNoBag · 06/02/2026 14:57

I had a comment a week ago (having lost ~8lbs) that I'd lost weight from someone I'd seen over Christmas, but I always lose weight in my face and shoulders first so it can be quite noticeable whilst the rest of me still gets swamped in baggy jumpers etc, especially this time of year. I mostly live in leggings (always intending to exercise, sometimes it happens, sometimes not!), and I think they're getting big on me - I have to pull them up a bit more, and when I do they come up a bit further over my belly.

Seriously?! That's a lot of weight to lose without anyone noticing! Did you find that demoralising?

That's true; maybe the big thick clothes at this time of year aren't helping.
(Well done on 21lbs in a month!)

Whatstfpoint · 06/02/2026 15:31

A nice side effect is that my face is much smoother. No idea if it's the food or the jab and reduced inflammation.

I did get a look from a neighbour the other day but he didn't say I had lost weight. He's gay so he definitely wasn't hitting on me.

CatNoBag · 06/02/2026 15:41

I've been looking at photos from about 10 years ago, when I was probably the lightest I've been since I was a (young!) teen, and realising how different I looked. I've been telling myself I hide the weight well, but the photos tell a different story. I have clothes from back then that I would love to get back into, hopefully by the time I switch to my summer wardrobe I'll finally be able to wear some things that haven't made it out of storage for a good while.

FrothyCothy · 06/02/2026 16:46

I’m expecting it to take until I’ve hit about 3st off before people notice a change - we have a family wedding in August so am aiming for a big entrance 😆

I’m hoping to hit a stone off in my first 6 weeks - that feels sustainable and would mean by our holiday I could be 2.5-3st lighter which will make for a much more pleasant experience on the flight and in the heat.

FrothyCothy · 06/02/2026 16:47

Annoyingly my boobs seem to be the first thing that’s shrinking - they’re my best bloody feature!

notcomfortable · 06/02/2026 18:14

Shit evening for me
My dog has been hit by a car and its not looking good
I was training at work and just turned to jelly so had to get someone to take over
Please keep your fingers and toes crossed for Teddy 😭😭

Yes extremely! And it was during summer as well when I my legs out for the first time since I was a teenager
But I feel healthier for myself, I see it in myself so I guess that's what matters
But it would be nice if someone said I looked good
