@26inprogress the 25g needle is finer than the 18. I’ve used 18s before though so depends if you find jabbing uncomfortable. If you do swap to the finer needle to inject after you’ve drawn up your dose.

I suggest:
with the syringe with the needle attached - draw back on the syringe so you have some air in it then puncture the seal on the pen after swabbing the end. Push the air in the pen and draw back your amount. If you’ve air in the syringe , draw back a little more than you think you need. You can then tap the syringe and push it up to expel the air. Do this slowly so you don’t lose the dose by squirting it out.
You don’t need to inject air first but it is easier to get out of the pen if you do.
Hope that makes sense - let me know oh it doesn’t.
Swab your skin and inject or change needle first.

What dose do you want to give? 0.6mls from a 10mg pen is 10mg. 0.45 is 7.5mg for example.

You lot have been chatty this morning! Oh god that sounds horrific @Zempy, I’ve had a couple of bouts of constipation but nothing like that. We had a blocked loo issue a couple of months ago though and DH had to get rods 😳.
@PrepossessingPenelopei don’t remember you talking about gloves, poor you, it does sound like MJ is really impacting you. Well done on the shopping, that’s fab! Would you mind linking the T-shirts for me? I’ve had cos ones before and loved them but not sure which ones you mean and keen for recommendations.

OMG @Jinshow scary for everyone and well done that woman! My nana was definitely in the handbag whacking brigade. Was always in awe!

Sounds like you’re doing really well @tinyemmy, I think you’re right, probably your body adjusting to all the strength exercises. I’m in a similar boat, I’ve just finished week 5 of c25k ( a 20 minute run this am omg), done 2 reformer Pilate sessions and a home weights session this week and the scales haven’t moved, despite having some Christmas weight still. I’ve decided I’m trusting the process and will carry on! I bought a 10mg pen and I’m really not sure that increasing my dose is the right thing. I’m well within my weight range, I did want to lose a few more but when I think of it I really don’t need to, my focus is on strengthening and getting fitter so I’m not sure what to do. I really haven’t had much success with syringes so don’t know how I’d do extracting a lower dose 🤔

we watched the earlier seasons of Stranger Things and it wasn’t for me, don’t really like sci fi, but ds not bothered about this one, so yay! Traitors though, it’s fab viewing, can’t believe it finishes next week!!

Hope you’re having a fab time skiing @Thelittlestranger

ETA @bluelimesI bet those 3 pounds will disappear soon!

Edited

Congratulations @26inprogresson all the activities. That's where I am, I'm fit and within a healthy range just not at the target I set myself (and previously maintained!).
You don't need to use the syringes until the final dose (unless that's what you mean), you can count clocks until then so to get 5 out of a 10 you'd count 30 clicks. You might need more of the needles that fit on the pen but you can buy them quite cheaply. That's what I did for months as I'm also not great at using the syringe without bending it and I think it blunts it a bit so I find it harder to jab where as the normal needles are effortless.

26inprogress · 17/01/2026 15:47

Thank you both so much 🙏, that makes perfect sense and I hadn’t even thought of counting clicks!! So for 7.5 out of a 10mg pen I need 45 clicks? Think I’ll do that and use blue lines hopefully failproof way if getting the dose out with a syringe, will try for the golden dose on this 7.5. Really appreciate it and sticking to 7.5!

BlueLimes · 17/01/2026 15:49

Yes 45 cllicks. Do try to get the golden dose though !

PrepossessingPenelope · 17/01/2026 16:17

@26inprogress this is the t shirt. Absolute classic, thick organic cotton fabric, great neck binding, wash really well and last forever (I don't tumble them although I did my XL ones on my downward journey and it made a difference but not an XL to S difference).

There are a lot of colours out of stock on the first link but also some reduced ones I can live with for under sweaters.

The new colours are here. I bought the red and black and then three reduced ones on the first link.

DGmaintaining · 17/01/2026 20:24

Oo @PrepossessingPenelope i went down a Cos rabbit hole clicking on that link…

Am actually trying to not buy any more clothes for at least a month, as I had a good splurge in the sales and haven’t even worn all the pieces I’ve bought yet. Leather trousers will get another outing on Tuesday as I’m on stage for work event.

Today I wrote the week’s menu, shopped for all the ingredients, had a PT session and made an aubergine parmigiana for dinner. Tomorrow is slow cooked beef madras and a side of tarka daal, which I’ll do in the morning before going to the theatre with DS2. Trying to beat this heavy feeling of procrastination that has seemed to take over me whenever I’m not working. I think the menu is a good start.

Zempy · 18/01/2026 08:30

Nothing to do with weight loss injections, but this morning as I was doom scrolling in bed, out the corner of my eye I saw something run out from under my bed and into my wardrobe (sliding door slightly ajar.) There was definitely something as it knocked into the zip tag of a cabin bag in there and it was swinging back and forth for a bit.

I think it was big enough to be a mouse and that for me would be preferable to the alternative- a huge spider. I am completely arachnophobic and will scream the house down and cry and completely melt down if faced with a substantial beastie. I live alone and DS (unofficial spider catcher) is fifty miles away.

😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

HeidiLite · 18/01/2026 08:38

spiders are super light so not likely to knock the label swinging. We had a mouse situation the other day, cat brought one in and just let it loose`, it then escaped behind the sofa first and then later I saw it under the fridge. But mice are stupid and a trap sorted it. Quite amazing how many droppings there were in just such a short time though.

If it is spider that size then yes I'm afraid it's spider's house now.

BlueLimes · 18/01/2026 08:46

@Zempy yuk I hate them. It’d be an unusual time of year for one of the 8 legged monsters? Do you need anything in the wardrobe? If not close the door and wait until someone can help.

They can’t get out of small places- I had one under a glass in the bath for 2 days as DH was away once. He said it looked p’d off when he released it and put it outside.

Zempy · 18/01/2026 08:57

Unfortunately, the wardrobe doors are one of the things that are “broken” and I never get round to fixing. There is no way to completely seal the beast in, and ALL my clothes are in there. Aside from my floordrobe and underwear drawers.

I guess I could just order loads of new clothes and leave it all in there until I die. The prospect of pulling something out that has a spider hanging off it makes me feel sick.

I have always had cats until recently so am used to them charging in with live mousey presents they would drop at my feet. I would find that far easier to deal with so hopefully that’s what it is.

I will have to buy a new suitcase too as going away in April and the case is in there.

Yes, I am aware of how mad this sounds. DS is visiting mid February so I just need to last until then, but the beast could get out of the wardrobe and crawl on me while I sleep.

I need psychiatric help I think!!

BlueLimes · 18/01/2026 09:01

I feel for you. It’s not nuts to me. had such a phobia I had CBT - it worked about bit - look into it. I think I need a top up session. But it definitely helped.
Im going for a run and will try and think of some solutions.

DGmaintaining · 18/01/2026 09:09

If it was a mouse, you’ll see droppings - and as @HeidiLite said you can get a trap or have an exterminator come round and set them for you (this would be my choice as I’d be worried about all the routes in). I think it’s more likely a mouse at this time of year.

DGmaintaining · 18/01/2026 09:15

In maintenance/jab news I’m 58.5kg so I jabbed 2mg this morning. It’s the fifth dose from my 2.5mg pen. I did 2 x 2.5mg and 3 x 2mg. There’s still some leftover so wondering if I’ll get another 2mg/0.5ml out next weekend.

DH has his 4th jab today and then next weekend I’ve got to teach him how to do the bonus dose.

Zempy · 18/01/2026 09:18

The thing is, if I still had the cat, I’d just think it was a mouse, but the cat died over a year ago. My house is TINY and I just can’t see how a mouse could get in to be honest.

I regularly clear out the wardrobe (Vinted obsession) and never any droppings anywhere. That’s why I’m worried it’s a humongous spider.

PrepossessingPenelope · 18/01/2026 09:18

Oh no @Zempy , I would get someone in, today, then you will be able to sleep/rest. Do you know anyone with a mouser? I've got one and would happily rent him out for the day.

PrepossessingPenelope · 18/01/2026 09:19

A mouser would also eat a spider so whatever it is they would deal with it.

Zempy · 18/01/2026 09:52

That’s a brilliant idea! I’ll just get another cat!

BlueLimes · 18/01/2026 10:01

I just stuck my hand in a dark cupboard - so do look into the CBT.

Anyway, we’ve an open fireplace and DH sprays this once in the autumn - it does work- I find the odd spider curled up dead.

https://www.petsathome.com/product/virbac-indorex-defence-flea-spray-500ml/7133488P?productId=7133488&volume=500ml

we only spray once as probably not great environmentally but people with phobias will understand.

I’d spray the bottom of the wardrobe lightly. You can get from Amazon.

Unless you can get someone in today to help you. I’d send DH but he’s off on a sporting event with DS! Imagine the conversation - can you help my virtual diet buddy with a spider issue - tbh he’d do it.

Jins · 18/01/2026 10:01

I feel your pain @Zempy. I have a phobia so bad I can’t even type the word. I think I’d move out.

The day after jab pound is back. I won’t be weighing the day after a jab in future

@jins even a photo would set me off, Im still
not great but I can get on with my day now. It was paralysing fear before - ie wouldn’t go back in the room/ couldn’t sleep at night.
Im about 50% better with CBT.

Zempy · 18/01/2026 10:15

Thanks for all the support. I was brave and had a little look, but can’t see anything.

I will order a fogger from Amazon and just wear floordrobe clothes until they arrive.

Thank god I only have online meetings this week!

BlueLimes · 18/01/2026 10:21

Very brave @Zempy

JoanCollinsDiva · 18/01/2026 13:48

Jins · 17/01/2026 09:01

Huge sympathy @Zempy. Today’s unpleasantness pales in comparison to yours.

I meant to tell you all that I have a new hero. DH and I were walking back to our car when suddenly two balaclaved youths laid into a lad walking home from school. No warning, just knocked him to the ground and kicked him. Before DH could reach them an elderly woman (I’d guess mid 70s) started bashing the worst aggressor round the head with her handbag which stopped them in their tracks. She got called all sorts by them but I called her a hero. The victim was ok thankfully but clearly very upset.

Wow, I love this - that is exactly something my Nanna would’ve done! (And me too, I hope)

’Orrible thugs. Was the lad ok?

I’m chilling today bc the weathers crap so still in pj’s. Still not feeling much suppression after restarting at 2.5mg but my weight is staying steady at 10.4 so it’s ok. It’s such a temptation to go up a dose and try and get down to 9’something again but after seeing friends last night and them going on about how skinny I am I maybe wonder if I’ve lost sight of what looks good any more.

Anyone else getting the “you’re too thin comments”? It does annoy me but I also don’t want to look shit. I just think I look healthy myself.

JoanCollinsDiva · 18/01/2026 13:58

Zempy
See I’m the complete opposite - I actually like spiders and have even held a tarantula and snakes etc but a mouse 😬?? Cannot be doing with rodents. One of our cats brought one into DD’s bedroom over Christmas (jumped in her window with it in her mouth) and I just heard dd scream “dad! Poppy’s got a mouse!!” And I just jumped up and legged it out the front door barefoot and stood shivering in the garden until it was all over 😂

Hate ‘em.

Aimingforearlierbedtimes · 18/01/2026 14:29

I’m with @JoanCollinsDiva on the mouse vs spider discussion, would prefer a spider any day. But from what you’ve said @Zempy, you clearly have a mouse. I’d be using poison or traps. Probably both. Sounds like a good excuse for a new cat too, a less good excuse for a new wardrobe of clothes!
