@JoanCollinsDiva I’ve only had a couple of people comment on me ‘disappearing’ but it’s stopped now as they’ve got used to it. Was annoying/embarrassing and didn’t help my anxiety over whether I was losing too much, despite feeling physically so much better. At the time I just smiled and waved them on. Now no one says anything other than ‘you still going to the gym?’ Yes, yes I am, wanna feel my muscles?

Today has been nice. Slow-cooked a beef madras, made a tarka daal side dish, went to the theatre with DS2, and everyone in the family is generally in a good mood. Going to watch The Night Manager and go to bed early to read my book.

Polkadotdash · 18/01/2026 20:27

I hear you on the spiders thing. Before kids, I worried about spiders all the time and would regularly have nightmares about them being in my bed. I’d wake up screaming ‘spider!!’ Once I had kids I realised I didn’t want to pass on my phobia to my kids so I had to try to improve. I am a bit better but I still wouldn’t catch one or move one. I don’t like pictures of them either but my husband says I have to imagine them with a top hat and googly eyes to make them more cuddly.
Mice on the other hand, I think are the cutest things.

Zempy · 18/01/2026 21:17

I am venturing back upstairs now 😬

Polkadotdash · 18/01/2026 21:54

@Zempy just imagine that whatever it is, it’s trying all your clothes on and admiring itself in the mirror. Plus wearing a top hat.

That’s hilarious!

I am pleased to say that the little fucker woke me up at five, charging from the wardrobe to the far side of the room. Even I, with my arachnophobic imagination, realised at this point that I was not dealing with an incredibly noisy eight legged beastie.

I just saw LF run back across to the safety of the wardrobe where he is now being really noisy (as he tries my clothes for size). Actually he just darted out but I roared at him and he ran back. I have him trapped for now. I will have to get myself to B and Q won’t I?

He is just a little field mouse but far too speedy for me to trap him without XDCAT help.

I am just so relieved it’s just a mouse. Thanks for sticking with me. I shall keep you updated!

PrepossessingPenelope · 19/01/2026 06:46

A new friend @Zempy 🥰.

Shocked this morning, its anniversary day later this week, I’ve just weighed and 0.5kg to goal. Somehow I’ve managed to lose 5kg in the past five weeks.

Zempy · 19/01/2026 06:56

That’s brilliant @PrepossessingPenelope . Persistence has paid off! I am in my car outside B and Q waiting for it to open!

PrepossessingPenelope · 19/01/2026 07:19

The early bird catches the worm mouse @Zempy !

Actually I was mistaken it’s 0.5lb. You’re right, I am a walking lesson in frustrating perseverance!

Jins · 19/01/2026 08:39

Exciting news @PrepossessingPenelope. You’ve pushed through most of the MJ side effects and kept going. Fingers crossed for that last 0.5lb.

I’m glad it’s a mouse @Zempy. Our current cats are really good mousers despite their size and general clumsiness but don’t despatch them quickly enough so we’ve had many a mouse hunt.

I’m still feeling little to no suppression from dose 2 of my new pen. I loved the feeling of a high level of suppression so much. I’m still not snacking much and often leave some of my meal so it must be present to some extent so I’ll bash on with the general plan of titrating down.

Zempy · 19/01/2026 09:13

I’m maintaining on 7.5. I thought 2.5 would be a maintenance dose but clearly I was wrong.

It’s bizarre isn’t it that I lost so much on 2.5 at the start, but I would be inhaling cake on it now.

Thelittlestranger · 19/01/2026 09:31

That feeling of suppression is quite something isn't it? It feels like a distant memory now.

Back from my holidays. No idea if I put weight on, will check tomorrow when it's had a chance to sort itself out for a day.

Back to normality and wishing the day of work away.

Our cats used to bring mice in. Mouse traps were the only way - fast little buggers. That's what freaks me out. Their speed. No time to prepare.

BlueLimes · 19/01/2026 09:54

I have suppression for 2 days only on 15mg - I’m so worried about titration and I’m not at goal yet. I need to work on sone very deep seated behaviour but that would unravel too much 😔

Sorry on a downer today - a bit.
I had a slice of cake yesterday - was out with DD It was very nice (pistachio and sour cherry) which then escalated to a picky day. I’ll give myself a talking too !!

Congrats on the mouse rather than the worse thing @Zempy
@PrepossessingPenelope amazing surge 🥰

BlueLimes · 19/01/2026 09:55

What does are you on @Jins ?
Hope you had a lovely holiday @Thelittlestranger

HeidiLite · 19/01/2026 09:57

I was complaining that kids were now throwing garbage away properly, there were always cherry pits, chicken bones etc next to the bin. Until one night, I saw a mouse dragging stuff out of the bin. Traps out, caught the culprit, but the issue continued. Traps out again and caught 2 more! At the time, we had 2 cats. Lazy buggers.

Jins · 19/01/2026 10:13

I’m on about 5mg @BlueLimes. I have to say that the estimated dose on Shotsy is proving helpful to match levels of hunger against estimated amount in my system. I must have suppression as I’d be hoovering food up if I didn’t so I’m just feeling normal hunger at normal times I guess and it’s something I need to recognise.

Still miss that total disinterest in food though

RockyisMYRhino · 19/01/2026 10:14

Well my plans for a big sweaty gym session this morning has been derailed by a rather poorly DS2. Huge temperature spikes overnight and a nasty cough coming so a day of pyjamas and snuggles it is!
Weighed in at pretty much the same as last week this morning so am still stuck just above the 12 stone mark and I’m now thinking I need to go up a dose as I’ve been here for about 3 weeks now! Think DH dos as well as he’s been reaching for more snacks recently too.

Thelittlestranger · 19/01/2026 10:51

Ive heard talk that suppression isn't as much when you back on MJ, as might have been experienced the first time. If that's the case, is there any research on whether you can get used to it, and therefore suppression starts to wane after being on it a while?

I’d love to this and also why some people respond so well on lower doses.

HeidiLite · 19/01/2026 11:09

I'm hovering around 59 kilos still. Good news is that it doesn't really take any effort, relatively stable and I eat pretty much what I want. But I would ideally want to weigh a couple of kilos less, especially as I won't be able to exercise for a while (surgery Thursday). Have to put some effort in. (but what do I, lazy lardarse, know about effort, eh) 😁

OP posts:
PrepossessingPenelope · 19/01/2026 11:22

@BlueLimes I have often thought how differently we have all responded to MJ. Some staying on really low doses, others not. Some with horrific side effects, constipation to the opposite, hideous burps to none. Nausea, tiredness, affected mood or otherwise. Some of us reporting positives too like less inflammation.

We are a living, breathing case study.

I half think my scales must have been joking this morning . I'll see what they say tomorrow and think about whether I will take the last two doses in my pen, I can't wait to stop taking - just in the hope that my mood improves tbh.

Zempy · 19/01/2026 11:50

If you’re a lazy lardarse @HeidiLite I don’t know what that says about me 🤣

HeidiLite · 19/01/2026 12:12

no no @Jins , I was told on one of the Fat Jabs threads that all I need to do is to get off the sofa and take a 30 minute walk, clearly they know better how those things are.

OP posts:
BlueLimes · 19/01/2026 12:18

Have to avoid those threads.

@PrepossessingPenelope I need to befriend an endocrinologist. High dose for me, no side effects but slow progress.
Ive pretty much been maintaining since August but about 7lbs to go.
But I’m the lightest I’ve been since I was 17 ((I’m 53) so really it’s been amazing despite my moaning.

26inprogress · 19/01/2026 16:26

Hi everyone

so so glad it was a wee mouse @Zempy, I have a spider story but given the arachnophobes on here, I won’t share. I didn’t use to mind them but not a fan now.

brilliant news @PrepossessingPenelope🎉 and thanks for t shirt recommendation. That’s actually the one I bought before and loved, such good quality!

Hope your day getting better @BlueLimes, the lowest weight since you were 17 is definitely cause for celebration, amazing! 🎉.

I also think it’s fascinating how we’ve all responded so differently. I’m sticking with 7.5 for another couple of weeks, until the end of this pen I think and then thanks to @tinyemmyand@BlueLimeswill use the clicks to get 5 out of my 10 pen and see how I go.
Just signed/ committed to 10 reformer classes a month and did week 6 run 1 of c25k this morning. I’m really hoping that an increase in my activity and keeping a really close eye on what I’m eating will serve me well, but I guess we’ll see as I titrate down more🤨.

It’s my birthday this week and I’m heading to a spa on Thursday overnight with a friend. Can’t wait! Actual
birthday will be a run, manicure, reformers and sauna/ cold plunge, I’m laughing as I write that, the me from 2 years ago wouldn’t recognise me !! I’m also going to have some champagne.

Have a good week everyone and keep on keeping on!

Zempy · 19/01/2026 16:38

That’s brilliant @BlueLimes I hope you are speeding lots of time admiring yourself 😍

I am also taking “half doses” 7.5 from 15mg pen. I have extra needles plus syringes for any bonus doses.

Have a fabulous birthday @26inprogress
