@Aimingforearlierbedtimes you look amazing. What height are you ? Wondering if we are similar. I’m 5f3

@Polkadotdash yes to introduce a serum.
this range is good.
https://www.cerave.co.uk/skincare/serums

also maybe a richer night cream - the oat one in this range is good.
You could also consider a hydrating toner

https://www.spacenk.com/uk/skincare/toner/mists-sprays/cream-skin-cerapeptide-mist-MUK200054907.html

@BlueLimes Thank you! I like the look of that ceramide mist thing. I will investigate.

@HeidiLite I have tried and failed to get my head around the Korean skincare thing. What is glass skin anyway????

I used to use Medik8 6 but have had a bout of perioral dermatitis so off that for now! Currently using tatcha indigo night which is amazingly moisturising overnight. I’ve also got a medik8 day and night cream to start when my current moisturiser is finished. I love Espa jojoba cleanser, you can also use as a mask . I use glowscreen spf which is lovely and gives a glow. I’ve got a huge amount of skincare that I can’t wait to use when my skin finally settles.
My arms are flaking at the moment, any ideas for a brilliant body cream/ oil?
@HeidiLitei really want to try the black rice toner, have read great things. We’re off to South Korea in October and I think I may need to take a spare suitcase 🤭

HeidiLite · 15/01/2026 21:11

OMG @26inprogress so jealous, take 2 suitcases!

@Polkadotdash glass skin should be healthy, glowing skin that is in such a perfect condition it looks like shiny porcelaine. Of course hard to achieve, so people simply tend to use lot of greasy highlighters to get the effect.
I can't claim to have glass skin, but all those Korean toners and serums have certainly plumped it up.

OP posts:
BlueLimes · 15/01/2026 21:48

I’d hate to have shiny skin tbh

I also really rate a Tatcha but it is ££

I’ve Medik8 day and night creams in my stash (I’ve a problem).

BlueLimes · 15/01/2026 22:07

@26inprogress id suggest a body scrub followed by a body oil. If you were feeling like a treat, Neom? Aromatherapy associates ?

Polkadotdash · 15/01/2026 22:50

@26inprogress a cheap option I recommend the Dove Pro Age body lotion (in the maroon bottles). It’s so good at sorting my dry arms and legs out, but there is one downside in that the fragrance is really old fashioned. My husband hates the smell of it so I can only use it when he’s out!!! As an alternative I use the Rituals 48 hour moisture one, but it’s pricey so I use it sparingly.

PrepossessingPenelope · 16/01/2026 05:28

@26inprogress have you tried the Espa body scrub? I love it, £40 but it’s a big tub (500g). It has a layer of essential oils literally on the top of the scrub in the jar and I don’t need to moisturise for a couple of days after using it.

Also, I can’t remember what the ingredient is but Ameriiorate body lotion has something in it that gets rid of those little bumps on your arms. I do find that the smell changes after a while on the Ameliorate product though so whilst I love it I’ve thrown the last two tubes away after a while with a fair amount left in them. Amazing product though.

Congratulations 🥂 @MJalltheway that is incredible.

@26inprogress what an amazing difference.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Zempy · 16/01/2026 06:22

Thanks @Polkadotdash .
I have lost an Irish Setter! I definitely couldn’t lift or carry one which melts my brain really. How did we manage to carry all that extra weight around?

Loving the beauty chat @BlueLimes . I have all the gear, no idea!

Jins · 16/01/2026 06:29

I second ameliorate lotion. Amazing stuff. I’ve got the foot cream as well and it’s the best I’ve ever come across.

I’m with @BlueLimes on the shiny skin but I’m sure that’s because all my make up skills were honed in the 80s and we all used to carry papier poudre round with us to blot the hell out of any hint of a shine. Doesn’t matter if they call it glowy or dewy, just looks like greasy skin to me 🤣

Weight has dropped to 8st 9. Unplanned and unexpected as this week I’ve been really hungry and have barely noticed any suppression. I’m trying to resist the internal voice telling me that it’s only 2lbs away from 8.5 stone.

HeidiLite · 16/01/2026 07:01

morning losers!
Yes I am also continuously amazed how we went around carriying big dogs or mid sized penguins.
Talking about dogs, one of my dogs has stomach issues, both ends, poor thing. Meaning I was up every hour with him, as he of course wanted to be let out. That was fun, reminded me of having babies. He looks a bit better in the morning, so hopefully nothing serious. I am like a zombie though and have a day packed full with back to back meetings. Surely not appropriate for a Friday?

26inprogress · 16/01/2026 07:02

Thanks everyone! I love espa @PrepossessingPenelopeso will take a look at that and ameliorate. I have a rituals scrub I got in an advent @BlueLimesso maybe I’ll use that first!
@Polkadotdashthanks. Will also look at that, only issue is I’m really sensitive to smells to the extent there are certain products I can’t use on my face! I may go and have a sniff and see what I think as cheaper is good! Will also take a look at the rituals one ( that’s what my scrub is) Thanks.
I’ve also remembered I have a body oil I got in an advent, I’ll dig that out too. My only worry with oils is how long to wait before getting dressed so I don’t stain things!

Anyway, sorry to derail!

I weighed today and I’m a pound up which is annoying. I’m hoping it’s because of the exercise ( 2 couch to 5k sessions, 2 reformer Pilates and home weights), so I’m going with it and staying calm!! I’m going to jab today. Last one was 5/1 so it’s probably the right time.

Thanks @Polkadotdash, I’ve lost between a gold brick and worlds largest ball of tape ( I’d rather take the gold brick, and can I have it back, not in weight but money would be good!!) still think I like the king penguin though!

well done @jins.
@heidilite,hope pooch is ok and yes, meetings all day Friday is rude! Hope not too bad!

Zempy · 16/01/2026 07:27

Sending hugs Heididog and yes, I always swear mightily at anyone who books a meeting with me past midday on a Friday.

Bastards.

hunkydory54 · 16/01/2026 07:38

Morning everyone, @HeidiLite I hope your dog is ok now and all your meetings get cancelled.

@Polkadotdash I've lost a small bale of hay so far and hoping to lose a bit more than an elephant's penis 😂once I get near my goal

PrepossessingPenelope · 16/01/2026 07:46

I need to find something that weighs the same as an elephant penis because I simply do not want that in my head/hall of fame.

Loss this morning - 63lbs. 1.5lbs to go and seven days to my one year anniversary.

Not that I’m complaining, but I am really not sure why I’ve started losing consistently after all that stalling/faffing around for almost the entire year!

Zempy · 16/01/2026 07:54

@PrepossessingPenelope

Three car tyres or a dishwasher!!!

meatyryvita · 16/01/2026 09:02

Morning losers! Sorry to hear about Heididog and hope he's better this morning. MeatyRyvitadog needed a run around the garden and a poo at 3am, so he's in my bad books.

Thanks for the list @Polkadotdash - just like @Zempy I'm down an Irish Setter 😂.

Hope your pm meetings get cancelled @HeidiLite !

Jins · 16/01/2026 10:08

I hope Heididog is on the mend. We had a similar issue with our old dachshund (affectionately nicknamed ASBO dog) once and as his guts were made of iron we didn’t like to think too hard about what he’d eaten.

Fleece lined leggings again today. So glad I picked some more up at the bargain price of £4.99. Good old aldi

PrepossessingPenelope · 16/01/2026 10:13

Thanks @Zempy 😁.

I should have said 'I need to find something beautiful, glam or soft and cuddly' that weighs the same as an elephant penis because I simply do not want that in my head/hall of fame.

Maybe a huge litter of 15, 9 week old lab puppies. 😍

HeidiLite · 16/01/2026 12:25

thanks all, the dog looks much happier so hopefully nothing serious. Had to trim his backside a bit, as he had gotten poop all over him and I didn't feel like showering a very hairy 40 kilo dog, herculean task at best of times.

Friday afternoons really should not count as work time.

OP posts:
Polkadotdash · 16/01/2026 15:51

Loving hearing what your weight loss equivalents are. The elephant penis one is plain weird. Who weighed one in the first place, how and moreover WHY??? 😆😆😆 And yes, @Zempy i cannot imagine how I carried around a microwave every day.

Polkadotdash · 16/01/2026 15:53

Also @Jins your mention of fleecy legging has reminded me to thank you for the tip off to the fleecy nighty. I bought one just after Christmas as a little treat to myself and I bloody love it. Deeply non sexy, but sooooo bloody cosy.

PrepossessingPenelope · 16/01/2026 17:35

@Polkadotdash I actually have an electric blanket on my bed. My house is toasty, frequently too toasty but I have Raynaud's and my feet are often cold despite the house being warm. I sleep with it on number 1 all night most nights.

For context my house thermostat is currently 22.8 degrees. It is warmer upstairs. I'll never be rich.

Thelittlestranger · 17/01/2026 04:57

Hello all, dropping in as I've woken up early. Away skiing at the moment, and I can't believe what a difference it makes being lighter and being more cardio fit from the running. Not carrying round a penis on the slopes that's for sure, but have nearly lost the equivalent of an elephant's heart - who knew that weighed less than their penis??

Also, conscious of how much less I eat - although we ate late last night and I'm struggling to process it. Hence being awake now. And probably the cumulative vin chauds and Irish coffees...

You have all been very chatty and I love it.
