Chicken Berry Biriani is a favourite here, also Dishoom's Gunpowder Potatoes are divine, really fragrant and just gorgeous. Their cook book is like a love letter to Bombay - just beautiful.

Still up here weight wise which is boring.

@26inprogress your full moon experience sounds lovely - it is a snow moon tonight isn't it.

I was meant to be viewing a new health club today but I think I have got a cold brewing so I will see how I feel at lunchtime.

Zempy · 31/01/2026 14:26

How tall are you @Nedsatomicdustbin ? How old? What’s your BMI?

If you aren’t happy with your weight then it might take a bit of adjustment to find the right maintenance dose that suits you?

I’m 5ft4 so really don’t want to go any lower. It’s hard to adjust your mindset though after years of trying not to eat (although mostly failing for most of those years).

Zempy · 01/02/2026 08:46

I’m the same height @Nedsatomicdustbin and sixty. I weigh 8:2 now and I’m thinking this is a weight I don’t want to go below. My face is starting to suffer!

Yes, mine too. I’m 51 and I’m definitely more wrinkley.

DGmaintaining · 01/02/2026 10:16

Thanks for those recipes @26inprogress looks delicious.

Hope you feel better by lunchtime @PrepossessingPenelope.

Gym was a bit of a non-starter yesterday. Turned up for my session with a stiff neck so we spent the hour trying to find trigger points to release it…rather than making it worse by lifting heavy. Despite not doing any lifting today my muscles feel battered!

We’ve got people over for a Sunday roast in a few hours. Got up earlier to do the red cabbage, prep the cauliflower cheese and prep the crumble. Have come back to bed with a coffee and will head back down in a couple of hours.

I’ve maintained, weight is 58.45kg today vs 57.95kg last week. Which is exactly where I want to be, if I’d stayed below 58kg I would be thinking about going down to 1.25mg. DH has lost 1kg this week, so that’s 7kg in total. He’s onto his new 5mg pen today, and will only take 3mg from it.

26inprogress · 01/02/2026 10:37

You’re very welcome! It was all delicious, chickpeas in particular were a hit. Yes, the Dishoom book is lovely @PrepossessingPenelope, so well written. Hope you feel better soon.
Enjoy your roast @DGmaintainingand well done on the maintenance and to your DH. I got a bit carried away last night, had wine when I wasn’t going to so the weight that’s gone back on won’t be coming off soon! Well within my maintenance range though so I’m going to try to figure how I live my life and enjoy things in moderation rather than being controlled by the scales, it’s a really difficult mindset to change isn’t it. My face looks old, lots more wrinkles and as for my neck 😳. My perioral dermatitis has flared again so I can’t even use my decent moisturisers, so bloody annoying!

Have a good Sunday all, lazy one here until the full moon thing tonight which I can’t wait for!

HeidiLite · 01/02/2026 10:51

I already have the Dishoom book. Can also recommend Meera Sodha ones, if you haven't tried.

Over here weight seems to be up and down and all over the place. But have decided not to worry about it. Hopefully will get all clear next thursday and can get back to normal exercise regime. Nose still so-so, better during the day but gets totally blocked overnight, so I wake up multiple times due to mouth drier than Sahara.

Nothing special planned for today - long dogwalk and DS has a basketball match again in the afternoon. It's a small village team, all kids who can play are playing, often they have just 1-2 guys on the bench. And they're doing really well, currently leading in their league, so we are so proud of them.

@26inprogress have you ever tried blue light on your perioral? Either a full mask, or a smaller pen like theCurrentbody one? Does really seem to work on me, whenever I feel a slight tingle, get the pen out and it's gone.

OP posts:
26inprogress · 01/02/2026 13:37

Ooh thanks. Will have a look at those ( not that I need any more cookbooks!)
yes, I think you have more important things to worry about @HeidiLitesuch as getting yourself better! Overnights sound tough still, hopefully things improve soon. Basketball team sounds wonderful, good luck to them!
I did get an LED mask last year but had to return it as not recommended for people with certain eye conditions, I didn’t know there was a pen version though, that sounds brilliant, I’m going to take a look, thanks!

DGmaintaining · 01/02/2026 23:17

Sunday roast was a success. Particularly liked the apple, cherry and almond crumble. Might do that one again.

Back on the bike tomorrow morning. It’s going to be another long week with late night working sessions. Brain was running out of juice on Friday, was mispronouncing words I was reading out loud with DS2. Hoping that was just because it was 8pm on a Friday and not because the peri-brain fog has landed.

Zempy · 02/02/2026 07:13

I’m off to London for a week of hotel residence and a potentially irritating training course. So no weighing in!

Am 8:2 and don’t want to go lower. I had to drag myself out of bed at midnight as I had forgotten to inject. I keep forgetting actually, my appetite doesn’t really change over the week like it did at the start…

Jins · 02/02/2026 09:19

Morning all. Feeling a bit better today but it’s been a poor weekend. Haven’t taken my prescribed tablets for vertigo as they increase histamine and I live on antihistamines. I’ve been taking seasickness tablets at night instead. Ear spray is being used. How odd to have an ear issue with no other symptoms.

I’ve got a meeting tonight but other than that I’ll be resting and pottering. Expecting a gain as it’s the day after a jab and I made roast lamb last night and had a greedy portion

Polkadotdash · 02/02/2026 10:23

First week back on MJ done and 3lb gained. 🙄. I was hoping for a loss as I had quite a busy week last week and was doing lots of walking. Sometimes I’m ok with no progress but I’m seriously pissed off about it today. I feel like my goal is slipping further out of reach 😔

HeidiLite · 02/02/2026 10:26

it's actually previous week's gain @Polkadotdash , always takes a while to catch up.

Hi everyone, lovely to catch up on everyone's news. Hope you feel better soon @jins. Those chickpeas sound amazing @DGmaintaining (I think I got that right). Hope you are recovering well @HeidiLite .

All good here, I was away in a hotel for a couple of nights last week for a work thing but took my scales with me (DH thinks I'm nuts) as I weigh in on a Thursday and didn't want to miss it. Hotel carpet had me weighing in 10lbs last than last week but quickly moving the scales to the bathroom showed me dropping a half pound, which is all good!

I got an email from SheMed at the weekend about post study pricing. I'm on Wegovy and they are going to be offering 4.8 AND 7.2mg doses!! Says a lot about what some folks have experienced with Wegovy vs. Mounjaro.

Kitchen nearly done so chaos doesn't quite reign anymore but can't wait until we have no tradespeople here for a while.

Stay well losers!

I hope so. Honestly, feels like trudging through mud at the moment.

Also losers, I need some advice for a cheap tinted moisturiser. I love the Trinny BFF one but can’t afford £40. What is good in the £10-15 category? @BlueLimes maybe?

HeidiLite · 02/02/2026 17:40

I'm bored and can't wait to get back to gym. But was just lifting some weights out of the way in the basement to clean the room, and got a little nosebleed, so clearly not there yet.

I use Erborian BB cream which is more in the £30 range. But the half tubes are about £16. I use a Vit C serum, then a moisturiser then the BB cream instead of foundation. I only need a small blob of it. One full size tube would probably last a 9-12 months, but I mix colours to get my shade right so a half tube and a full size tube last me about 12-18 months.

HeidiLite · 02/02/2026 19:28

I love Erborian too, but CC. La Roche Posay has a good BB as well but I don't see it on UK sites? https://www.parapharmacielafayette.com/fr/p/la-roche-posay-hydraphase-ha-bb-creme-teint-terne-spf15-40-ml-F84754.html
If you can wait a bit and happy to buy online, this is my current favourite: https://www.yesstyle.com/en/missha-m-choboyang-bb-cream-4-colors-23-natural-beige/info.html/pid.1104513852

BlueLimes · 02/02/2026 22:06

@Polkadotdash sorry I don’t use tinted moisturiser- I prefer a fuller coverage. I do like bare minerals and you can put on as much or as little as you like. I also like sometimes just using a little concealer followed by powder. Maybelline and L’Oréal get great reviews.
Have a look on vinted - often completely new make up on there.

Polkadotdash · 02/02/2026 22:28

@HeidiLite nosebleed? You need to put up with the boredom and REST!
@DGmaintaining thank you. I’ve just ordered a travel size erborian BB cream to see how that goes.
@BlueLimes thank you. And I meant to say I bought a little bottle of that ceramide mist thing you recommended and it’s lovely to use. So easy and feels luxurious and grown up.

PrepossessingPenelope · 03/02/2026 07:35

Morning everyone. 0.5lb to goal here - so close! I've got a long day ahead of me and my head still feels like it is full of cotton wool - dreading it a little bit and looking forward to getting home which won't be until about 9pm.

@HeidiLite rest, rest, rest. It will take even longer if you interrupt the healing process, boredom is required.

@Polkadotdash , pleased to see you've ordered something. I am one of those lazy people who just buys the same product again and again and am always 😳at the choice of products out there. Since I found Bobbi Brown's intensive serum foundation I have stuck with it. I am a very low user though so it lasts forever.

@meatyryvita good news on both weight and kitchen progress. You may remember the house move - not house move. Still not sure whether to just stay and replace kitchen and bathrooms but I really don't relish the thought of replacing the kitchen. Bathrooms are fine, we can just use one of the others but I've refurbished three houses in my life and I remember the pain. It will be lovely for you to get to the end of it.

Have a great day losers.

DGmaintaining · 03/02/2026 08:26

So close @PrepossessingPenelope!

Weird vanity moment - I don’t know if it’s because my brain has finally got used to my face, or if it’s because the loose skin is finally settling but I’m no longer worried about my face looking too thin and saggy. I have read it can take up to a year or two for your skin to settle. I still have the deeper creases around my smile but they’re less ‘baggy’ than they were. Well, today they are. Perhaps it’s mild puffiness from being due on…

Zempy · 03/02/2026 08:29

I have bought some (new) make up and face cream from Vinted recently. I got £25 MAC lipsticks for £6 and £15 Boots face cream for £3. Hopefully it’s all in my porch when I get home from London and hasn’t been stolen 😬

Ate so much hotel breakfast I can hardly move. That is my main meal though so not too bad. And I avoided the bread 😇

HeidiLite · 03/02/2026 08:45

I am a really bad patient and don't do resting well. Am trying..
Hope I get all clear tomorrow and also have to ask about decongestants or something. Nose is better during the day, but still totally blocked at night, so sleeping is really challening.

@PrepossessingPenelope almost there!

@DGmaintaining yes I have certainly noticed it as well, face getting tighter and not as haggard.
