@MJalltheway what are you considering? We have a Skoda Enyaq (full electric) that I adore. Plenty of room for DH (6'4'') Has heated steering wheel.

Skodas are on the list, Kodiaq and Kamiq as well as the Enyaq. Volvo xc40, Kia EV3 and Sportage, RAV4, Nissan Qashqai. Those are the ones I currently have shortlisted! Any decent SUV with a heated steering wheel is in the mix. We live rurally and the roads round here are shocking so needs to be pretty sturdy. DH has a Tesla and the suspension has gone in a couple of years - just not made for country roads.
I use ChatGPT for all sorts of things, trying to streamline my life!

PrepossessingPenelope · 29/01/2026 19:23

@26inprogress and @Zempy the Brora order is going back, one item is an odd fit, the front waist sort of sticks out on its own like you have got a belly filling it out without having a belly. The other one does fit but I'm not sure that the quality matches my older Brora stuff. I also think it looks a bit Miss Marple compared to all the Whistles knitwear I have bought in the last month and that it isn't necessarily 2026 capsule wardrobe/look.

Are you going to Löyly @26inprogress ? We spent a couple of afternoons there in the summer, it was gloriously hot.

Good luck on the car front @MJalltheway , for the first time in forever I haven't got a heated steering wheel and I miss it (also Raynaud's). My current car was pre-registered and I couldn't ignore the massive discount so I bought it. I moan about it daily atm.

cloudjumper · 29/01/2026 21:09

I love my heated steering wheel. Nothing better than getting into the car on a cold day, sitting down on a pre-heated seat and gripping a warm steering wheel 😂 I’ve got an electric car, and the best feature is that I can pre-heat it with the app.

glad you’re on the mend @HeidiLite!

Love the idea of ChatGPT analysing freezer contents, must try that!

So I jabbed on Tuesday, going up again to 10mg, and already regretting it 😖 I had a normal dinner last night, but then felt so rough all night! Still felt really ropey today, thankfully I wasn’t working, so took it really easy. I’ve never felt like that on MJ, so there is still a chance I might come down with something.
Suppression is sky-high, I have to force myself to eat so that I can function. Ugh! I might drop back down again next jab…

What a shame! Yes, Loyly but don’t think it’ll be warm and sunny 😂

PrepossessingPenelope · 30/01/2026 06:35

Oh, @26inprogress I have just seen .... March ☃!

I'm out for lunch and dinner today. I've looked at menus and planned my choices. I'm so close with 0.5lb to go - I really want to see the right number on the scales this weekend.

@cloudjumper that sounds rough, I can't remember how much you have got left to lose. I felt awful on 8.33 (my highest). Hopefully you will feel more like yourself in a day or two.

More torrential rain here today, it seems endless doesn't it although the flood warnings have been removed (I live at the top of a hill so I'm ok, but near a river).

Jins · 30/01/2026 10:06

Morning all!

Out gigging tonight and I’m seeing the band that I’m pretty sure I saw for the rubber dress incident. I’ll be more suitably clad tonight - don’t want to scare folk.

No change in weight from last week so I’m maintaining at 8.10 pretty well. Just feel so hungry but luckily I’m not snacking too much. Was going to jab today but will probably leave it until tomorrow as we’re travelling by train and I don’t want to jinx side effects.

Picked up a twin pack of Carole Hochman wirefree bras at a bargain price yesterday. They are the sort that come in S, M, L and XL and you work out the size you need on a chart. I took a gamble on a L and the fit is incredibly good apart from the bloody moulded cups which are baggy at the top. I’m going to try altering the white one as I rarely wear white bras and at £6.99 for the pair it’s cheap enough to experiment.

Nearly the end of the longest month of the year. Can’t wait

HeidiLite · 30/01/2026 13:30

I'm with you there, @Jins , January sucks! It's boring, loooong and dreary. So cold and grey and rainy here, went out briefly several hours ago and still can't get warm. Miserable.

Hope the gig will be fun, even without any rubber dress incidents.

I’m taking it easy today. Felt a bit weird yesterday morning, fatigued and a bit faint. Got up to go to the loo and almost fell over. DH brought his BP monitor downstairs and it didn’t register initially then settled at 84/68. It’s not the first time it’s happened so he phoned the GP and got me there. BP had settled (of course) but I was still wobbly so had a pretty thorough check and they’ve settled on vertigo from an inner ear thing. I’ve got drops and some tablets to help symptoms but honestly feel pretty lousy. Off for bloods next week and we’ll see where that leads.

Managed the gig last night but left early as I started swaying a bit. Fun night though.

Have a fab weekend all.

HeidiLite · 31/01/2026 08:38

oh hope they manage to sort it out @Jins

I am feeling better today, thinking if I should jab? Has been almost 2 weeks.
Can't say I'm feeling any different but may go for a low dose this evening.

have a lovely weekend, all losers!

DGmaintaining · 31/01/2026 09:17

Morning all, thank god it’s the weekend! It’s been the longest week.

Hadn’t weighed myself all week and just hopped on to see I’ve maintained at 58.4kg. Eaten a few high fat meals this week that haven’t agreed with me but other than a bout of nausea it’s not had any other effect.

So that’s 4 weeks on 2mg and a successful maintenance so far. Calling this the halfway point and will do another 4 weeks to see if it holds.

Meeting a friend for coffee this morning, do a bit of grocery shopping, maybe batch cook some soup, and have the gym/PT later this afternoon. Neighbours over for a roast tomorrow.

My brother has ordered MJ. I told him last weekend I’ve been on it and it’s been the best investment for my health. He has a BMI of 44, is only in his 20s, smoker, works insane hours in a physical job. I think it’ll be really good for him. So that’s me, DH and DB.

Zempy · 31/01/2026 09:21

I have eustachian tube dysfunction that causes those ear type problems, and also low blood pressure @Jins . I have had several wobbly turns where I have been close to blacking out. Try to remember to get up really slowly. 💐

@HeidiLite If you feel well enough to jab I can’t see the problem. Take it easy though.

I am meeting friends in town today for tea and cake. Might do a bit of shopping too.

Have a good one losers.

Nedsatomicdustbin · 31/01/2026 09:25

Morning

Weighed this morning at 7stone 12 which is too low. My zone is 8-8.7. I’m maintaining on 5mg and have eaten really well this week. I think it’s because I’m doing g loads of running and have neglected the strength training for a few weeks.

It is a really weird feeling to be worried about being too light and thinking about how to eat more. I’ve literally been trying to eat less since the age of 12 in 1987.

Losing more weight than I wanted is why I started titrating down. Also, in my case, being a low weight but having no energy/motivation to exercise was another reason. I know that exercise is important - I feel good afterwards, but also keeping up strength has so many other benefits too. I don’t want to ‘have a fall’ and shatter something.

PrepossessingPenelope · 31/01/2026 09:42

Morning losers. Take it steady poorly people.

Well, 😤I ate out twice yesterday, focused on protein and salad/veg and did not overeat, spent a lot of time pushing my dinner round my plate because I was still full from lunch (which was a poached chicken breast and greens), but am up 0.9kg this morning, must be water mustn't it.

Off to jab, 5mg from my current pen and then I'll have the same to have next week, I really do hope that I lose my last 1.2 kg before then. I am still planning on stopping regardless/not starting my new pen.

New job start date agreed for when I wanted in April, so I now need to think about booking a holiday and having an actual rest.

Have a great weekend everyone.

HeidiLite · 31/01/2026 11:15

oh @DGmaintaining m a BMI of 44 - MJ will hopefully be life changing for him. What did he say about you being on it?

I also convinced a friend to try recently, he was not really that big, but pre-diabetic. In a matter of weeks, his blood sugar was normal.

Mortifying @PrepossessingPenelope. I feel for you. My worst clothing mishap was back when I was a young, slim goth and I was out clubbing wearing a rubber dress. Obviously rubber is under a fair amount of tension when in clothing form so when the back seam failed it failed spectacularly and I ended up in a rubber apron 🫢.

Oh @Jins I laughed more than I should have at this story. The puff of talc just makes it even more dramatic. 😂😂😂

Polkadotdash · 31/01/2026 11:43

@Nedsatomicdustbin I’m assuming you are a Neds fan? I’m a HUGE Neds/PWEI/Wonderstuff fan and it’s rare to find another one. ❤️

26inprogress · 31/01/2026 12:56

@Jinssounds grim, hope you feel better soon, good they’re taking it seriously and glad you still got to go out minus rubber dress!
@HeidiLiteglad you're feeling a bit better, I agree, no harm in jabbing if you think you’re ready.

@Nedsatomicdustbinthat’s a problem I’ve never had to deal with! Sounds like a lower dose/ more calories would help? Have you looked at your maintenance calories etc?

@PrepossessingPenelopethere seems to be no rhyme nor reason for my weight when I weigh daily either, I am back at my post Christmas weight today. Other than Monday where admittedly I had the munchies and ate a bit more than normal I’ve had a sensible week including dinner out on Thursday. Hoping it’ll bugger off as soon as it crept on but it’s annoying. I may start weighing weekly. Keeping everything crossed you reach goal by next week.

Everyone’s weekend plans sound lovely, have fun! I’ve spent the morning in the kitchen as friends are coming over for Brazil planning! Think I may have over cooked even though we have 4 6 foot plus boys who eat a lot! Dishoom chicken biryani ( twice the recipe), aubergine curry, tea steeped chickpeas and goan fish curry. I was going to do a paneer curry but I think we’ve got more than enough! Just made a f800 mushroom soup for lunch too and I’m now officially cooked out! I’ve been for a walk with the dog and having a bit of a rest! Reformer Pilates tomorrow, walk with a friend and then DH bought me a full moon experience for my bday- lake swim(!), sauna, cold plunge followed by an amazing sounding meal cooked over fire, can’t wait!

enjoy your weekends all

HeidiLite · 31/01/2026 13:03

@26inprogress tell me about those chickpeas?

I always, always over-cater. The bigger the dinner party, the more leftovers we have. But I'd hate people going hungry. Still remember this one meet up we had with our NCT class equivalent, I think we were like 5-6 families. All we were offered was a medium sized bowl of salad to share and some breadsticks. Was very bizarre, especially as it was not the first meet up and all other hosts had catered sufficiently.

DGmaintaining · 31/01/2026 13:04

@HeidiLite he was completely non judgmental about me taking it, and actually took it as a green flag that his ‘big sis’ was advocating for it. He had been thinking about it for a while. Had two friends on it with very different outcomes. One who lost loads of weight and has done v well on it; the other developed kidney problems on it and had to come off. So he was on the fence based on his two real world examples, and also didn’t know which pharmacy to trust.
Our dad is T2 diabetic (probably brought on by years of heavy drinking) and carries the BRCA gene. So that, plus DB’s smoking and BMI, puts him a high risk for a lot of future health issues. He’s lucky to have the finances to access this. I’m looking forward to seeing him take control of his health!

DGmaintaining · 31/01/2026 13:06

@26inprogress also would like links to these recipes please! And yes to over-catering. I’d rather have leftovers than be embarrassed about food running out.

26inprogress · 31/01/2026 14:22

Sounds great@DGmaintaining, fingers crossed it works for db as well as it has for us!
so the aubergines, chickpeas and fish are all mowgli recipes, let me take photos as I can’t find the recipes online. Biryani is a Dishoom recipe, have cooked it before and it’s delicious, here it is https://www.dishoom.com/journal/recipes/dishoom-chicken-berry-britannia-biryani-recipe/

if I forget the others, nudge me!

How tall are you @Nedsatomicdustbin ? How old? What’s your BMI?

If you aren’t happy with your weight then it might take a bit of adjustment to find the right maintenance dose that suits you?

26inprogress · 31/01/2026 14:27

Did it while I remembered, apols for state of photos, hope you can read the recipes.
