Happy birthday when it comes @26inprogressand congratulations @BlueLimes
I'm not sure I feel any different to when I was on 2.5 and wonder if I've wasted my money for the last 7 months! My weight was down half a pound this morning on last week, same as the week before. I tracked all week so I'm hopeful that I can lose weight without mj 🤞 although I had night sweats last night (sorry TMI, although perhaps not on this chat 🤣) so it could just be water loss but it made me feel good this morning!
My plan is to carry on tracking this week and see what happens. I'm undecided whether to weigh daily or not as I think a higher weight mid week did not help and I fell into a pack on after eights. When I was losing it was the motivation I needed to keep going so maybe now that I've hopefully stopped binging that I can see the benefits on the scales.

BlueLimes · 19/01/2026 17:21

Happy birthday @26inprogress enjoy your week and spa trip.

thanks so much for the congrats but Im not at goal yet. I’ve given myself a good talking to, had my jab and went for a run at lunchtime - the joys of a wfh day. Penelope persevered a lot, so can I 😊

@tinyemmy losing without the jabs is the dream !

HeidiLite · 19/01/2026 18:16

happy birthday @26inprogress , the birthday plan sounds perfect!

@tinyemmy very curious to see how it goes without MJ.

How Is Stuart Little getting on @Zempy ? Is he running the house yet?

Happy Birthday @26inprogress , I love spa ing.

@tinyemmy that will be me in the next couple of weeks too. Could be this week depending on how I feel at the weekend as to whether I inject. Part of me thinks I might as well use this pen. It’s a 10mg pen and I’ve had 200 clicks, so I could lower the dose to 6.667mg and then have the same again from the bonus if I wanted to, or 3 x 5mg I guess.

@BlueLimes that is very impressive. 🤩

Zempy · 19/01/2026 18:53

@PrepossessingPenelope I have set up traps and shut the door!

Sleeping downstairs tonight and hoping I will be woken by the sound of a mighty snap, rather than a rustling around my bed!! Apologies if this upsets anyone but I previously tried humane traps and mice totally ignored them. I need my bedroom back. I live in a tiny one bed cottage!

If he’s not despatched in a couple of days I will borrow a neighbours cat.

PrepossessingPenelope · 19/01/2026 18:59

Well done @Zempy, I am sure he will be caught out tonight.

I ordered a suit from M&S yesterday. It was cheap and I knew I probably wouldn't like the fabric but I liked the shape. Just collected it and it actually fits more perfectly than anything has fitted me for a long time, super flattering. But I don't like the fabric much (as I knew I wouldn't because it is polyester for £95 not wool for £350!).

What shall I do friends, return because I am not a synthetic suit fan or keep because every inch of it fits perfectly and it is very flattering?

Will I wear it - yes because I look nice, will I send it to charity the minute I find something that fits as well in a wool mix .... yes.

I think it’s perfectly understandable (but I spray the 8 leg beasts ). We’ll DH does as I don’t like going to hear the log burner in case they 👀

HeidiLite · 19/01/2026 19:10

@PrepossessingPenelope keep and Vint whenever you find a better version

Keep because it’s flattering. You’ll probably wear more than you intend to.

hunkydory54 · 19/01/2026 20:02

@26inprogress my near birthday twin 😊. It’s my birthday this week as well. Sadly not spaing but my DD is coming home for dinner which DH is cooking and I’m out for dinner with some girlfriends at the end of the week.

On the MJ front I’m still slowly but steadily going down after staying the same for ages and very close to getting to a weight beginning with 11 for the first time in 25 years 😁. My new pen which I start on Thursday is 5mg so interesting to see how suppression is. There’s not been a huge amount on 2.5mg compared with this time last year.

PrepossessingPenelope · 19/01/2026 20:49

Actually, I'm really not sure, the fabric does look cheap to me, sort of heading towards shiny suit category before it has even been worn, I'll have a look in daylight.

HeidiLite · 19/01/2026 21:16

happy birthday to you too @hunkydory54 !

Thanks everyone! Happy birthday twin @hunkydory54, your celebrations sound fab, especially DD coming home🥰enjoy!
@PrepossessingPenelopeif the suit fits like a glove I agree with others, keep it and resell on Vinted if you find something amazing. It doesn’t look shiny on the link, but only you can tell!

@Zempykeeping everything crossed for tonight’s operations, hopefully you’ll have an animal free bedroom as of tomorrow. But maybe it is a sign to get a new cat!

@tinyemmyfollowing your non MJ journey with interest too.

DH was in London today and found an amazing cinnamon bun shop. They are my absolute favourite and he brought one home for me as won’t be in London on my birthday. My first reaction ( out loud) was I can’t have that today and then I decided I could. It was AMAZING!! I need to get over my good and bad day and can’t eat tha mentality. I think that’s going to be key for maintenance..

Zempy · 20/01/2026 06:15

Happy birthday @hunkydory54

Little Fucker clearly doesn’t like grated chocolate. I might have to go out and buy peanut butter.

Another night on the sofabed tonight 😞

PrepossessingPenelope · 20/01/2026 07:22

😱No @Zempy . He's a fussy little blighter.

I've gained 900g this morning for no apparent reason ..... and on we go.

The suit is going back, before I gained weight I only ever bought nice things that I loved and would wear for a long time. Fatness meant anything that remotely fitted stayed. I don't need to do that anymore, I'm going to return it.

I bought a lovely suit from Whistles before Christmas. The wool mix fabric is beautiful, as is the finishing. That's where I need to head.

Jins · 20/01/2026 08:21

Happy birthday to the birthday almost twins. Enjoy celebrating!

@Zempy I found a mouse inside a bag of minstrels once. The cat had let it escape and we’d had a few disturbed nights and failed to catch it. So I bought a trap, grabbed a bag of minstrels from the bookshelf to bait it and opened it to find a mouse inside. It had mountaineered up to the top shelf and bitten a tiny hole in the bag. Don’t know who was more shocked! I released it on a nearby field.

Hygienist appointment this afternoon with yet another change of hygienist. This will be my 6th in 3 years - my dental practice definitely has a retention issue but it’s become a corporate so no surprise there. DH is back in work today so it’ll be quiet with no drilling or hammering. Bliss

HeidiLite · 20/01/2026 08:40

@Zempy I've always used ham or cheese

@PrepossessingPenelope you are so very right on just choosing clothes you love. I have some clothes I have kept recently simply because they fit. You have inspired me to ditch them.

Weighed in today after my long weekend away and I've put on less than a lb. Hurrah.

Started the day with some yoga, and going to run the dogs shortly. First run in two weeks, and hoping my hip pain has now gone with all the stretching. Also had some fun with some handstands earlier. Felt like a 9 year old, but enjoyed it!

26inprogress · 20/01/2026 09:59

Peanut butter worked for us @Zempy, good luck!
Yes, that makes a lot of sense @PrepossessingPenelope, best to buy things you love and will last.
I’ve sold a couple more things on Vinted and got a bargain new with tags cashmere and wool me + em jumper, well hopefully it’s a bargain, hasn’t arrived yet!! Also sorted out a load of other stuff, some for clothes bank and some for charity shop including some almost new walking trousers x3!
did a home weights work out this morning and off to reformer later. Getting quite addicted!
well done @Thelittlestranger, all that skiing obviously helped!

Also, non weight loss related but I’m certain that Zempy and PrepossessingPenelope have both been to Stockholm? DH, DS (17) and I are going over Easter, I’m definitely going to a sauna and lake and boys will go mountain biking. We also want to go round the islands ( and I’m trying to persuade them to go to the abba museum!), any must dos/ restaurant recommendations please? Thanks

Polkadotdash · 20/01/2026 10:39

Happy Birthday @26inprogress and @hunkydory54. Very envious of the spa day. Sounds just about perfect.

@PrepossessingPenelope Stuart Little made me laugh!

Also - I’m getting sucked in to the Brooklyn Beckham saga this morning. 🫣

HeidiLite · 20/01/2026 10:46

@26inprogress Vasa museum is quite interesting.

OP posts:
PrepossessingPenelope · 20/01/2026 11:09

Well done @Thelittlestranger .

@26inprogress I am not brave enough to buy on Vinted really, I bought one jacket from my Vinted selling proceeds and it is a bit tight, sizing is unusual imo. I judge sizing based on Jigsaw in the main as I find that not too vanity ish and sensible. My Vinted buy size 12 is way smaller than a Jigsaw jacket in a 12.

I actually stumbled across the trousers to match my pre christmas suit in the Selfridges sale earlier, one pair left in my size, so have bought them. I also renewed my Selfridges free postage for 12 months subscription ..... which is dangerous.

@26inprogress yes we all love Stockholm. Places we have visited repeatedly, Nordiska (probably everyone's favourite museum), Vasa is impressive, National Museum - we would be very disappointed if we couldn't go to these on a visit.

Other things we've done include Skansken - nice on a sunny day, The Royal Palace - impressive and lots to walk round, the changing of the guard is good to watch (lunchtime ish depending on the day of the week), The Viking Museum is fun but a bit younger than the others. Abba Museum is fun but felt hugely commercial compared to the other museums and I wouldn't go back.

Places we return to to eat include - there are a couple more but I'll have to look at my credit card to remember the names, I can also give a couple of places I didn't enjoy if you are interested in those.

Shere Khan - Joint 1st
Lebanon Meza Lounge - Joint 1st
Operabaren - for lunch only - a bit stuffy for us on hols but feels like an 'institution' type place
Ricordi - really good food, slightly odd vibe imo - too cool for school sort of place

Libanesisk restaurang i Stockholm | Lebanon Meza Lounge

Att äta hos oss är en helhetsupplevelse där mat, dryck, service och atmosfär tillsammans blir en perfekt inramning för dig och ditt sällskap.

Stockholm!!! DS and I LOVED VASA museum. It’s really unique (no spoilers and don’t google it!) There is a big theme park type place with scary rides on that island too if you like that sort of thing.

Nordiska also great. Tbh we loved everything. The only slight disappointment was Sodermalm, known as Hipster Island. Bearing in mind we are from Brighton, it simply didn’t meet our hipster threshold.

I loved coffee by the waters edge, the amazing meatballs (yes, really) and just how pleasant and relaxing it was. Nowhere seemed overcrowded. Except the airport…

I didn’t like, or expect the complete chaos at immigration in and out of Stockholm. As we departed, we went through security and waited for our boarding gate to be announced. When it came up, about 50 mins before departure, we headed to the relevant group of gates, say 10-18 for gate 12. Then we were stopped in our tracks by a huge passport control queue for all those gates. No way to avoid it. People were going crazy and some Germans missed their flight. We scraped in with a couple of minutes to spare along with many others, running along. Inbound passport control was about an hours wait.

I have cheese leftover from Christmas so will see if Little Fucker prefers that.

@Polkadotdash I really want to see the video of VB grinding on her son in place of his first dance with Nicola! Surely someone filmed it?!
