My thoughts on taking a break (with a bit of history for context):
I went up to 5mg after 4 weeks (as advised by my prescriber) but found it quite strong so moved down to 3.5 and gradually increased. Spent a good few months on 5, then moved up to 6, with my highest dose being 6.25.
I went cold turkey mid November - I had just had enough of injecting and was getting a bit jittery about long term use, plus, as I was at a healthy weight, I thought it would be okay to stop.
I did okay for a few weeks, then Christmas hit and I put on a few pounds.
In January I decided to start again and restarted on 2.5. The suppression was immediate and I lost the gained weight - and more - very quickly. I revised my goal weight (from 8st 10 to 8st 7 - I’m 5’3” and quite small framed) and have stayed there, with a little bobbling up and down, ever since. I’m still taking 2.5 weekly - no plans to stop at the mo.
Taking six weeks off and then restarting definitely seemed to recalibrate my response and I would recommend trying it. We’re in this for the long term, so a couple of months without a loss might not be so bad if it gets things moving again?
I don’t know really, just idle musings. I appreciate it’s easy for me to say as I’m at goal.
On another note, I’m off on holiday next week. Was just clearing out the motorhome to get it ready and came across some size 14 labels. I had bought new clothes just before we went last year as my size 16s were looking a bit loose. This year I’m in size 8s. What a change! It’s so much easier to move around the motorhome as a small person! Plus I am so much stronger (from all the Body Pump and yoga) that getting in & out of the van and up and down from the bed are now a doddle. (Having a lot less bulk to move around probably helps too!)
Keep on keeping on , Kat x
