Hi everyone, starting a second thread as the other one is almost full. We made it through month one, now here’s to a happy, healthy and lighter 2026!

@tobee I’ve been having that issue with jeans too (also 5ft4) which is funny really as it’s not as if we’ve got shorter!

Also been reminded on how bonkers clothes sizes are. Got three pairs of size 14 jeans from the same shop, similar styles. One fit perfectly, one fit but bit too tight (hopefully not far off though) and one was literally nowhere near doing up. Couldn’t even do the zip a tiny bit!

@EducatingRosemary glad you didn’t get any major side effects!

Thanks @user593 I’m 5 ft 4. Next say regular is 5 ft 3 to 5 ft 6. These were flares and bootcut jeans which are always tricky but I still don’t want to be stepping on my hems and forever wearing platforms 😁

Edited

I am 5ft 4 also, it seems to vary so much as to whether I am short or regular in brands.

I really need to go shopping, I really dont know what style I want to wear, I used fo live in super skinny jeans before I put on weight, but I know the fashion is not skinny jeans, I have some bootcut and mom jeans but they are too big now, the skinny jeans are a bit loose but I do feel they suit me.

I would love to be able to have a stylist 😂

It makes no sense does it, I have some old size 8 and 10 jeans from next that are a bit baggy, the smallest ones I have are a next 12 but only just fit. They are all 5+ years old and exactly the same style, super skinny high rise from Next. I would say I'm a 12 really but sizes now are really all over the place. How does anyone actually know what size they really are!

TaffyTabby · 08/03/2026 08:45

Also denim is always tighter when you first buy it and then it relaxes! Jeans are such a minefield.

When I’m at goal weight I think I’m going to do the John Lewis personal stylist thing, it’s free but obviously they’re hoping you buy something they put you in.

I dunno if this is a NSV but I think my phone has stopped recognising my Face ID cause my face is much slimmer. I had to reset it and now it’s working again.

edit to say - after upping my dose a little from 5 to 6.5, I’ve been losing at 2lb a week again for a fortnight. I am worried about not getting enough nutrition though.

Yes good point, I used to have a beautiful pair of Katen Millen jeans (I am so gutted I got rid of them as they would probsbly fit now) but they were really tight when I tried them on, the assistant said definitely get those as the others will be too loose once worn/washed a bit so I always bought the ones I could only just fit into so they would fit better once a bit worn. A few squats in them when first wearing helped 😂

Thats funny about your phone, I have just got a new passport and wondered about people who lose loads of weight and have an old photo on there. My photo is a recent one but is awful, I wish I hadnt rushed it 🙈

I think we're all struggling with nutrition a bit, I am guessing its a bit of diet fatigue, its weird as usually this would be wanting to binge etc but its more just losing a bit of motivation to make the effort with choosing well.

TaffyTabby · 08/03/2026 09:12

Yes totally, diet fatigue but still in a deficit!

user593 · 08/03/2026 11:20

I think I’m going to take my next dose a day early this week. I need to adjust the timings as we’re going away for two weeks at the end of the month. My plan is to take a dose the day we fly and then just go a week without. I can’t face dealing with the logistics of travelling with it. Has anyone done this? I’m only on 5mg so hoping going back to 5mg after a week’s break won’t be awful….

Unfortunately we’re also going to a country where the cuisine is my all time favourite 🙈 (but not particularly unhealthy, I hope!).

EducatingRosemary · 09/03/2026 21:10

After accidentally giving myself a 5 mg dose instead of 2.5 mg last Monday evening, I’ve only just remembered that my jab was due tonight. I’ve already gone for a bath and I’m heading to bed, so I won’t bother taking it tonight. The last dose hasn’t worn off yet anyway, so I’ll wait until it starts to and then take the next one. That way I can hopefully shift the schedule by a couple of days.

I ended up messing up yesterday also, I only had 30 clicks of the 5mg pen so did that then got a syringe, first of all I syringed up to .6 on the syringe then thought nope thats a full dose so I then did .3ml. I am only doing 3.75mg not 5 🙈 the effects are way more on 5mg than 3.75mg, what a numpty. My excuse is that I'm tired 😂

EducatingRosemary · 10/03/2026 01:32

Oops! And there was me thinking nobody else would be that silly! 🤭 Or at least that my brain fog moment would serve to stop others on the thread doing the same! This is the downside to us tweaking the doses and utilising different strength pens! Hope you feel ok and thank you for making me feel better.🤣

My unintended experiment has surprised me with its outcomes though - smallest loss since November (barely a loss really 0.1kg) and not the huge suppression I got when I started the jabs. Hoping going back to 2.5 still gives me the suppression and my body doesn’t now need the 5 😬

However, I’ve made it to the size 12 jeans 🎉 and only 2.4kg (5.5lbs) to the target I set so if it slows to a stop now I’ll just creep there whilst using the jabs as I intended to maintain for a few months. The final bit was to my buffer weight anyway.

Springbaby2023 · 10/03/2026 06:36

Can I ask a question on the golden dose? I’ve not been doing it because I was a wimp to start with and wanted to follow the instructions, although I was forcing the pen round to get extra clicks. But just want to try it with this pen was think it will be my last 7.5 and then I know they are stopping the golden dose anyway. How much extra do they tend to put in each pen, is there more leftover in a stronger pen? Or am I only likely to have the same amount in it as a 5mg pen for example.

It looks like there has been some amazing weight loss since I last popped on!!

i struggle with weekly weights as I don’t often see the scales budging consistently so I’ve been adhoc weighing every 2-3 weeks to avoid disappointment.

Today I’m down to 73.65kg BMI 26.09 so almost almost nearly back to 25!

so that brings me to 17.5% weight loss since November which is mind blowing for me as I previously many moons ago struggled to lose hardly anything on slimming world even when I was following all the rules!

I’m still managing on 2.5mg so hopefully that continues to work to get to goal. Fingers crossed.

NSV is that my engagement ring fits again, considering I struggled to wear my wedding ring last year that is an amazing victory! I have some inflammation still along with the excess weight my fingers randomly swell as the day goes on, but they fit and they’re back on!

I’ve also been having diet fatigue, I’m trying to up my fibre as it is severely lacking especially as I don’t snack much atm so need to plan my days eating better

OhCobblers · 10/03/2026 09:12

Morning!
following on from the advice here im going to keep to my 5mg pen based on finances BUT take 6mg each week to include golden dose .
I’ve got 1/2 stone to lose plus a few extra as a buffer but it’s v v slow work.
i hadn’t intended to do maintenance, again due to finances, but might need to think about switching to WeGovy and maintain for a few months?
Does it make sense that im going to have a regular 5mg dose today and take out 1mg from the next dose with a syringe?!
sometimes working it out fries my brain!!

TaffyTabby · 10/03/2026 10:08

@Springbaby2023 I read there is up to 0.8mL left if you haven’t used any of it to prime needles. So in a 7.5mg pen you’d potentially have a 10mg dose left. That’s why it’s common for people to accidentally take a bigger dose than intended.

The most accurate thing to do is to use one of the tiny syringes you can buy online to draw up whatever amount you want. You’d only draw up 0.6ml if you want the regular dose.

@OhCobblers if it’s a 5mg pen then you’d need to draw up another 0.12ml with a syringe to get another 1mg. It might be easier and more accurate to just draw out 0.7ml in total and that’s a 5.83mg dose.

I hope I haven’t confused anyone! The maths is a bit fiddly.

OhCobblers · 10/03/2026 11:02

@TaffyTabbythanks for the info. I get the syringe doses so muddled that I’m glad I post here! Though I dosed earlier and took 15 clicks from the next dose as well as a regular so I’m guessing around 6.20mg so I hope that helps with appetite suppressant as it’s wearing off quite quickly these days.

SexyFrenchDepression · 10/03/2026 11:48

There are a few charts showing clicks/syringe amounts available online which are helpful.

I know exactly what I should use but just had a brain fart clearly 😂

Fantastic results!!

I had convinced myself that my engagement ring didnt fit for a number of reasons other than the fact my fingers had got fatter 😂 its nice to be able to wear it again

TaffyTabby · 10/03/2026 13:06

I’ve got the opposite problem. I was heavier when I got my rings so now I have to wear one of those plastic coil things on the back to make sure they don’t slide off.

I’m on day six since last jab and thought my suppression was wearing off but then tried to eat some of the kid’s cake at a cafe this morning and couldn’t eat much more than a quarter. Can’t get over how amazing these drugs are really.

I really really really need to start doing some strength training though, just finding it so hard to motivate myself to do it. They need to invent a jab for that too haha 🫣

OMG yes a jab to make you get off your backside to go to the gym 😂 I'd pay for that too!!

Its strange as when I think i am hungry I can still only eat a small amount. Yesterday I couldnt eat at all, day 2 after my accidental 5mg jab, I ordered 9 nuggets from McDs in the end as I just thought they wld be ok as really savoury and I fancied them but I couldnt even chew them. It was horrible.

EducatingRosemary · 10/03/2026 20:54

We are not a great advert with our overdose posts are we @SexyFrenchDepression 🤣

I am now having a 50g protein shake for lunch at work. It does make for an easy way to get a high amount of protein in. It’s also filling me up until dinner time really well (or maybe the double dose jab is causing that - hard to know at this point!).
Still don’t feel like I need my next jab so have skipped another day. I’d like to get back to Friday jabs if I can so this might be the way! I will reassess again tomorrow evening.

Springbaby2023 · 10/03/2026 21:19

Which syringes do you guys recommend? This is definitely going to be my last 7.5mg pen so need to make the most of it. I still have at least 7lb to lose but I’m hoping three doses of that then a continued smaller loss on a smaller dose will get me there.

NSV for me, tried on a top I’ve had at the back of the wardrobe for ages. Had ordered it from vinted a while back but it was ridiculously too small, can’t believe how well it fit today! I definitely feel like I’ve gone from not really having lost anything to easily being a size down. Only problem is going to be how expensive all the new clothes are!!

OP posts:
TaffyTabby · 11/03/2026 19:04

Nice one @Springbaby2023 i love that kind of NSV. I use the BD microfine 1mL needle with syringes.

So I finished my 7.5mg pen tonight. I drew up the last amount and it was 0.54mL which was what I was expecting but I only used 0.5mL as 6.75mg felt like a bit too much.

I am so sad I worked out the 0.02ml I didn’t use was probs worth about £3.50 ha

Springbaby2023 · 11/03/2026 21:32

@TaffyTabby Thank you, I’ll order some. Bit late to this golden dose just as they’re being stopped but one is better than none. Ha I don’t blame you working it out, it’s so hard not to think of the cost when they’re so expensive. Are you sticking with 7.5mg for next pen?

OP posts:
SexyFrenchDepression · 11/03/2026 22:49

@EducatingRosemary I know, i am usually so careful I blame stress and tiredness 😂

@Springbaby2023 I order mine from UK medi the 8mm 1ml syringe. They seem to be ok and easy to use.

Its such a shame re the golden dose, it makes such a difference cost wise so its very frustrating. Its worth getting a stockpile if people can afford it I guess.
