Hi everyone, starting a second thread as the other one is almost full. We made it through month one, now here’s to a happy, healthy and lighter 2026!

@tobee you’re right, threads like this are great but also it does make it hard not to compare, I want to be one of the ones who loses loads on a low dose but I guess that’s not what happens for most people. I’ve heard the step from 5mg to 7.5mg can at least be better in terms of side effects.

@SexyFrenchDepression before this stall that’s exactly how mounjaro made me feel, like I was just discovering how it feels to eat like a normal person. I’ve always been amazed at how my mum can eat so well in moderation, felt like I was finally understanding it.

@user593 I am hoping I will be at goal weight by the summer so hopefully I can enjoy some proper holiday food by then but also still just eat a normal/smallish amount of the stuff I like 🤞

SexyFrenchDepression · 13/01/2026 21:39

@Springbaby2023 hopefully it is just finding the right dose, I do think more people start to go up the doses each month than don't from what I've read, but loads of people seem to find 7.5 is the perfect one so hopefully that'll be the case for you.

Springbaby2023 · 13/01/2026 23:34

@SexyFrenchDepression I hope so! I think I’ve been ordering my pens too early (trying to be organised) rather than actually waiting to see how the dose is working for me. Feeling more positive tonight though, 17k steps and two workouts done, determined not to give up when I’m spending so much bloody money on it.

TaffyTabby · 14/01/2026 09:22

I think you make such a good point, most people are probably going to need the middle doses, otherwise they wouldn’t have designed the drug that way!

I took 4mg last time and will go up to 5mg today.

I am finding the effect isn’t consistently dropping over the week. Today is jab day and my appetite felt more suppressed yesterday than it did a few days before that. Bizarre.

I’m now down 1 stone 6lb. Pretty pleased! Although having stopped breastfeeding a few months ago and now I’m losing weight, feel like my boobs look kinda sad 😐.

Fifiellz · 14/01/2026 09:38

I went up to 5mg yesterday - no side effects but have dropped the stubborn 2lbs that have been hanging around this morning. I’m hoping to finish off on 5mg, I’m just over 2 stone down and have about 11lbs to go. I’m pleased I now have the space to taper down as I think the plan is to hang about on 2.5mg and try to maintain for a few months. I’m hoping to be done around May realistically I think.

66babe · 14/01/2026 15:31

Wanted to share my NSV - for the first time since starting on MJ I’ve just faced one of my triggers - a personal upset with one of my nephews who’s unfortunately just relapsed on drugs - my heart breaks for him and my brother who has been to hell and back with him over the last 15 years
Previously when something like this happens I would reach for the crap food - chocolates, biscuits ice cream only - no proper food at all for days at a time - however I sat having a wee cry the last 2 nights chomping on a handful of grapes and was quite shocked that I was able to process it without that craving for sugar and the comfort of crap food .
Sorry to hear about people stalling .. my losses have been small recently too but it does add up and if we all keep going we will get there .

SexyFrenchDepression · 14/01/2026 16:09

@66babe so sorry to hear your stressful news but I totally get you with your NSV, it is revolutionary how it works. Food has always been my go to for anything, good stuff, bad stuff, illness, tiredness, any sort of reward. Sending love to you and your family.

66babe · 14/01/2026 16:15

Thank you @SexyFrenchDepression yes I’m similar .. treat to reward , treat to console , treat when bored , treat when rushed . I’ve always wished we could concentrate more on dealing with this as much as we spend on devising diet plans . I’m a firm believer that losing weight has more to do with frame of mind than actual food .

BlueMum16 · 14/01/2026 19:34

Starting weight 15 stone 10 (size 18)
Target weight maybe 11 stone (size 12)
Current weight 14 stone 12.8 lbs

Sorry I've been AWOL everyone, Christmas and life. I'll catch up on your posts later now I'm back.

Starts 3rd Wegovy pen tonight. Last one was .5 but I did 4 x .5 to stretch it. Today's is 1 mg but doing .66 x 6.

Christmas was ok but this past week or two have been difficult. I've not really lost/gained for 3 weeks which is good news but I can feel bad habits of snacking are creeping back in.

I'm hoping to be back on track now and keen to maybe get half a stone off with this pen. If I go motivate myself I'd love a bit more. It's hard as DP is using Wegovy too but his weight losses are much higher. He's already lost 5 or even 6 stone and manages probably a stone per pen but I'll get there.

Not quite in my old size 16 jeans yet but need to desperately as my current ones look awful and need to go in the bin.

Good luck everyone.

RoundandSad · 14/01/2026 19:38

@Fifiellz have I got this right please

The total you want to lose is two stone 11

And you've lost two stone since November? In 10 weeks?

I took a break last week and didn't use it

Undecided about doing it this week, but if I do, it will be a small smaller dose.

Springbaby2023 · 14/01/2026 20:57

I’ve just gone to order 7.5mg for my next pen and I can’t believe how expensive it is compared to 5. I can afford it for the next month but I think I’m then going to have to consider where I go with this longer term if it’s not having a great effect still, can’t afford to be spending that much each month for minimal weight loss at this stage in my life. Really hoping a couple of months on a higher dose will get me to close to what I need and can then drop back down for maintenance.

@BlueMum16 You sound similar to me… fingers crossed we’ll push on a bit in the next few weeks.

Fifiellz · 14/01/2026 21:13

@RoundandSad Yes, I wanted to lose about 3 stone in total from 12st 8lbs ish start weight to around 9st 7. Im now as of today 10st 5 so 12lbs left to be exact. Total loss of 2 stone 3lbs in 12 weeks.

Wouldn’t have believed it myself tbh I never thought I would get this weight off and def not so easily as it’s been.

Fifiellz · 14/01/2026 21:22

@Springbaby2023Im with Chequp, they do 7.5 for £259 and I can get you £50 off referral. Just send me your email if you want it.

user593 · 14/01/2026 21:55

@Springbaby2023 I’ve sent you a PM.

RoundandSad · 14/01/2026 22:00

@Fifiellz that's extraordinary. You'll be done in 3 to 4 months. All finished! Wow

It's like my friend, she's the person who gave me the final push after I dithered about this for ages - I haven't told her thank God, but she had no side-effects and was losing weight quickly and actually felt much better on it than she does normally

She has ADHD though, and she says it's good for that I don't know why

It was listening to her that gave me the final push when I had thought about it for a long time, I think I first posted on here a year ago or more saying I was thinking about it

So she's lost a lot of weight, I last saw her a month or so ago and today she posted a picture of herself at the airport getting ready to go on holiday

She has shrunk a lot in a month like a LOT. She looks like a different person after starting in September.

I would probably feel differently about side-effects if that was happening to me, but obviously it's not happening to me

It's been such a nice week not taking it, no headaches, no Pepto-Bismol just feel like myself again. Energy level back to normal. No feeling low or anything.

At some point, I'm going to microdose what I've got left but not spending any more money on it

still tempted to look on here as you can see but I probably shouldn't

Assuming I’m permitted to share by Mumsnet I have been sent a £40 off code today from Bolt, if you would like that.

diggitydoo · 14/01/2026 23:26

I’d love a discount code too if possible

We have been quite similar all the way I think. I am 2 stone down now and around 1 stone to go. I am excited to get under 10 stone (hopefully in next couple of weeks) as that will feel so nice!
