Well, some of us are new, some of us are nearly at our goal weight and the rest are still in the trenches.

Everyone is welcome here. This is a safe and supportive space for people with a lot of weight to lose.

I've been missing over recent weeks having be away on holiday and snowed under at work - but have caught up today. Sorry to hear of those that are struggling with relationships ending and changing - and for those with ongoing health challenges - but it's so impressive so many are keeping going with weight loss despite everything.

Weigh in this morning at the end of pen 12:

SW: 136.6kg
GW: 62.6kg

Pen 1 (2.5mg): Down 10.1kg
Pen 2 (5mg): Down 6kg
Pen 3 (5mg): Down 5.1kg
Pen 4 (5mg): Down 4.8kg
Pen 5 (5mg): Down 4kg
Pen 6 (5mg): Down 5kg
Pen 7 (5mg): Down 4.5kg
Pen 8 (5mg): Down 3.1kg
Pen 9 (5mg): Down 3.1kg
Pen 10 (5mg): Down 5.5kg
Pen 11 (5mg): Down 1.8kg
Pen 12 (5mg): Down 1.6kg

CW: 82kg

Pen 13 started this morning - it's another 5mg one - I was thinking about increasing to 7.5mg for this pen but given this past four weeks have been dominated by holidays and work stress rather than focus on eating and exercise have decided to stick to 5mg - I'll revisit in the new year if the slow down continues.

Given the time of year I do think we should get bonus diet points for declined food. This weekend I declined luxury biscuits, mince pies, chocolate cake. Every week I go to DM's care home and decline the cake on offer.

This time of year practically every encounter with anyone includes the offer of some sort of seasonal food. The mission church came round with their list of Christmas services and handed me a little bag of chocolate money. Fortunately DS pounced on this. He does this every year. I have warned him that one day the mission church will be round to collect his soul.

Aye, they never learn.

I did a side-by-side of my face from a year ago. Different angles of photograph but goodness, the difference!

Anyway, I went for a major hair change today. I’m now bleach-blonde! It’s giving Tilda Swinton vibes!!

Love the sound of the hair!

I had my first mince pie today.

I had a mince pie yesterday, at the garden centre cafe! Been waiting since last year as they’ve been so epic the last couple of years. The quality has really dropped. Sigh.

It was still nice but it wasn’t the memorably amazing deliciousness of previous years. Probably just as well tbh.

I’m going to make some soon. Then I can do some mini ones and count the calories in the recipe, scare myself, have one for lunch and carry on enjoying them occasionally.

A cautionary take. I forgot to jab last Monday. Im doing 30 clicks from my 15mg pen, so about 7,5mg. By Wednesday I fancied a glass of wine, which I had. By Friday it was a bottle. By Sunday it was almost a liter of Baileys. That's after almost three years of barely drinking. The food shop had over £100 of alcohol when I've not bought any for two years. I was eating so much food it was unreal. Four crumpets when one would have done. I had forgotten how food noise felt and particularly the alcohol.

I jabbed first thing yesterday and contacted oushk to get back on their books as I know now I can't go it alone. No weight gain thankfully but a wake up call

This morning I sniffed the baileys and felt sick, I much prefer that reaction

PearlTeapot · 09/12/2025 12:49

That sounds like a really rotten experience @Doggymummar and I'm glad you've realised before it becomes a huge problem for you again. Get back on it, good luck, thinking of you xx

How long were you of it for ..
I was thinking of going it alone in January just to see if I could.
Maybe not a great idea of mine

Ugh, flu. Have been drinking water and tea like a madwoman to balance out all the, um, drainage from my head and nose. So now I feel all sloshy and am in the bathroom all the time, especially when I start coughing. Joy.

I did get a flu shot which makes me wonder how bad this would be if I hadn't. Apparently this year's strain is a monster.

Not bothering to weigh in until this is gone, obviously. Bah humbug.

My family have all had this the past week.
I've been running round like a blue arsed fly, feeding and watering them and buying the different medications they need I'm starting to feel rough now ,so it's probably my turn

Snowcat5 · 09/12/2025 14:21

I'm due my flu shot on Tuesday..but if ive already had it or have it ..is there any point ??

Unless you are actively ill at the time of the appointment I'd go ahead and have it. You don't know if whatever virus you have been exposed to is the same one the vaccine is designed for, and flu season hasn't properly hit yet.

EverybodysALebowski · 09/12/2025 15:24

Agree with renegade elf - have the jab if you aren't actively ill. But it sounds like it may already be too late.

Still coughing, still sloshing, missing works party tonight which is a silver lining as I hadn't wanted to go anyway.

Hard to gauge anything MJwise right now but am thinking I need to go up doses again. Reluctant though as the jump in cost from 5mg to 7.5mg is a lot. Granted, the pen would last longer than a month as I've been edging upwards very slowly, so I'd do a few weeks at 5.5 and then at 6 to see if suppression was good there and probably hover instead of going straight to 7.5. Immaterial anyway as I just started a new pen. So at least I have a few weeks to think about it.

If you've been edging up slowly you presumably have a bit of a stash from ordering normally but using the pen for longer. So you could keep ordering 5mg but take a slightly higher dose from it to see how you feel. I did that when I moved up to 3.75mg - I still had one more 2.5mg pen so I used that to give a higher dose (either jab twice each week, once for a normal dose and once for a partial dose, or use a syringe for the full lot).

Snowcat5 · 09/12/2025 15:32

Thanks guys, will still plan on having it as long as I'm not going to spread anything by going in

EverybodysALebowski · 09/12/2025 16:00

Yes @RenegadeKeeblerElf you're exactly right, that's how I've been doing it. Maybe I'll try 5.5 next week out of the current pen and see where we get.

Three years in March

On jabs or of jabs ?

Iwouldratherbesinging · 10/12/2025 11:26

I’ve been away/snowed at work so have just caught up - loving the project management talk 😂
Christmas events are in full swing now, had a work Christmas lunch yesterday with colleagues I hadn’t seen for the last 4 months and everyone was shocked to see me even though I’m only down another 2.5 stone since then, all positive comments…
was away over the weekend and worried as I ate crap and lots of sugar, but in very small portions but I just generally felt meh after eating rubbish, but weigh day yesterday and was down 1.3 lbs 🎉

SW - 21st 7lbs (approx, I stopped weighing) 136.5kg
SW on Mounjaro - 19st 2.9lbs 121.9kg

CW - 10 st 12.5 (69.2kg)
bmi 26.2

Weight lost on MJ - 8st 4.4lb
Total weight lost - 10st 6lbs

Just over 11lbs to go until goal which is a scary thought!

GnomeDePlume · 10/12/2025 11:31

That is inspiring progress @Iwouldratherbesinging

mamabeeboo · 10/12/2025 15:04

@Iwouldratherbesinging woooww!! Those stats are incredible! And it looks like you're in your toilet roll era where "only 2.5 stone" is really noticeable. Congratulations!

I've been unwell for the last few days with cold /flu symptoms. Lots of sleep and not much eating. I'm deliberately using this time to shift some weight on the scales, as my silver lining. Ended up losing 4lbs in 48 hours. I suspect I'll put it back on in the coming weeks. Wonder if anyone else, prior to MJ used being ill as a way of crash dieting or if its just me and my own desperation. 😂

Sw:144kg
Cw:98kg
Gw:???

Three years in March is how long i have been on mounjaro. I missed one jab.

UsernameShmusername2024 · 10/12/2025 16:19

@iwouldratherbesinging Your stats are amazing, well done. And so close to target!

@mamabeeboo I have definitely been glad of being ill in the past as a way to shift some lbs quickly!..

I'm also ill at the moment with a bad cold but have gone the other way with food - I'm not eating loads but what I am eating is basically bread and biscuits and most of a panettone 😬
