TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 29/11/2025 12:34

Well, some of us are new, some of us are nearly at our goal weight and the rest are still in the trenches.

Everyone is welcome here. This is a safe and supportive space for people with a lot of weight to lose.

Haven’t been on here much recently but had to come on and post as I got weighed and I’ve lost just over 3 stones! I’m now under 25 stone (sounds awful, but it’s the truth!) for the first time in 10 years!! So pleased. Taking 10mg still as I was having too many side effects with the 12.5 (mainly explosive diarrhoea which was making me feel very ill). Just delighted. My diabetic bloods were tested this week so hoping for better levels from them too!

TheZingyFish · 10/12/2025 19:00

@weegiemum This is such an amazing achievement and it doesn’t sound awful in the slightest, we have all started somewhere and are all at different stages. The most important thing is that you’ve started, and that you are succeeding. We’re all in this together so keep sharing as I’ve had some amazing support over the last 8/9 months which has made all the difference.

Huge well done again!

flipent · 10/12/2025 19:43

@weegiemum thats amazing!

I’ve lost a similar amount and still a long way to go. This is the place to be. X

Three years in March is how long i have been on mounjaro. I missed one jab.

Edited

One jab missed ,wow ..will definitely think twice

diggitydoo · 11/12/2025 06:57

So today will either be my first golden dose or my first jab from new 5 mg pen, depending on whether I manage to get the golden dose out.

I have lost 10 lbs in those 4 weeks. Which I think is pretty good. Was maybe expecting a bit more as I have a lot to lose ( over 10 stone) But it’s realistically about right, 2.5 lbs a week. Been logging calories and macros and I’ve averaged 1,450–1,650 kcal per day. Typical macro pattern has been high-protein (90–110 g/day, ~25–30%), moderate carbs (140–180 g/day, ~40–45%), and moderate healthy fats (50–65 g/day, ~30–35%), it’s not been easy but it has been possible. Which is good. Would like to stop measuring, but feeling very anxious and want to double check I’ m not doing it wrong

can’t quite believe I’m doing this. Feel a lot of grief and confusion about it. And hate being obsessed about food and weight. But I have to continue for my health and Mobilty’s sake

just read the book ultra processed people too, which makes me so angry about what the food and medical industry has done to me /us. So sad .

So yeah, feel weird.

GnomeDePlume · 11/12/2025 07:26

Weigh in and jab day.

SW 137kg BMI 53.5
CW 98.8kg BMI 38.6
GW 63kg BMI 24.6

15 stone 8 lbs in old money. I feel I'm in a bit of a plateau stage, bumping up and down the same few kgs. But I trust the process. I'm not throwing up my hands in despair.

As we are coming up to Christmas I decided to reflect on the NSVs I have enjoyed in this first year on mounjaro:

  • being able to put on shoes and socks without my knees hurting
  • being able to go downstairs without having to 'dot and carry one'
  • being able to take my rings off
  • being able to make clothes from mainstream pattern suppliers
  • sitting in a train seat and not feeling like I was encroaching
  • no longer needing super wide shoes
  • starting to go to the gym
  • feeling in control of my diabetes instead of it being in control of me
Lds1 · 11/12/2025 09:30

@GnomeDePlume those nsvs are great! One day the rings will become too big!

Lost again this week which is a good sign. Lost 1.1kg / 2 lb and 6.8 oz

SW: 142.8kg / 22 stone, 6 lb and 13.1 oz
CW: 73.7kg / 11 stone, 8 lb and 7.7 oz
Total loss: 69.1kg / 10 stone, 12 lb and 5.4 oz
BMI: 50.8 / 26.2
To get to healthy: 3.6kg / 7 lb and 15 oz
To get to goal: 13.7kg / 2 stone, 2 lb and 3.3 oz

GnomeDePlume · 11/12/2025 10:01

@Lds1 that is an amazing achievement. As you get closer to your goal weight how do you feel about it? Does it feel realistic? Is being slim what you expected it to be?

TragicMuse · 11/12/2025 10:44

Amazing work @Lds1! Just fab.

TragicMuse · 11/12/2025 10:46

I like your NSV reflection @GnomeDePlume!

I’m going to think about all of mine…

Thank you 😊

The goal of healthy feels like it is achievable, the goal of mid healthy BMI has started to feel less likely as I've been up and down like a yo-yo recently.

Being smaller is better overall obviously even just for health reasons but I don't feel slim as it doesn't seem to be going from the bits that are still bigger than I think they should be. I'd definitely need surgery to tidy everything up and be slim but that would be painful and costly!

I really want to go to some shops I've never been able to shop in and try stuff on, so far I've been inside the shops and had a look about but having no idea what size I am, and not knowing if the shops are big or small fitting i didn't get to the stage of trying clothes on. That's my next non scale challenge.

PearlTeapot · 11/12/2025 11:08

@GnomeDePlume I love your list! I'm going to make one too! Maybe we could all do an end of year reflection? I'll start thinking about mine.

@Lds1 as always your progress inspires me so much, thank you.

@diggitydoo a fantastic start! And don't worry about the golden dose, it really is easy. I fretted about it unnecessarily. Just watch a YouTube video and go for it. I also felt weight grief about food when I started this journey that I still struggle with at time, I was a massive emotional eater and over the years I've given up other addictions so this feels like the final battle to me.

At first I hated tracking everything and feeling obsessed but now I don't think about it much. I will check the calories of new food, but mostly eat the same things regularly. I at my meals, have a snack if I fancy it, then every Sunday my Apple Watch reminds me it's jab night and I'm surprised it's come round so quick.

What I’m saying is it gets easier! Promise. Keep going.

GnomeDePlume · 11/12/2025 11:25

@TragicMuse it was important for me to think about the NSVs as I know when I have dieted before and hit a bit of a plateau it has been easy to say 'it doesnt work for me'.

It does work for me and the NSVs are the evidence of that.

So much diet thought is focused on the numbers. All the diet clubs I have been to only talk about numbers. None of them talk about what losing weight means at a personal level. It's all about hitting a particular number at which point we will become 'healthy' as though a switch gets flicked.

Well done. 3 stone is a fantastic achievement.

I find this thread can be quite liberating because its the one place where you'll find other people who have the same or similar starting weight, and that understand the weight loss journey which is so different from those who are only looking to lose a small amount.

I started at 26 stone 9 pounds in July 2024 and I'm now hovering around 17 stone so only a few more pounds and I'll reach 10 stone loss. Its been a long slog but so worth it.

Thank you x

just been to gps and I have lipodema

PearlTeapot · 11/12/2025 14:05

@Janie934 I can't even begin to congratulate you, your life must have changed in so many ways. I find life at 16 stone a thousand times better than at 22 so I'm sure you feel similarly. Coming up to 10 stone must feel unreal. I'm so happy for you!

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne thanks!

@diggitydoo I have stage 4 lipoedema, I have lost 6 stone and none from my bottom half at all. I accept it is what it is, the inflammation is a million times less, my legs are soft with nodules now instead of being rock hard and stretched to their limits, and my mobility is a dream to me after years of being trapped by my legs.

Lds1 · 11/12/2025 14:50

I've always wondered if I had lipodema but the drs always said I just needed to lose weight, although my legs have got smaller they're not losing in proportion to the rest of me.

I guess I'll see where I end up in that maybe they'll just be the last bits to shrink or if when I'm in the healthy BMI and I finally go for a health check my immflamation is still high they might finally take it seriously coz I've lost weight.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 11/12/2025 18:24

That’s brilliant progress @weegiemum!

@diggitydoo I lost 8.8lbs in my first 4 weeks, you’re doing brilliantly. I was overly obsessed at the beginning (but did avoid calorie counting as it can send me to a bit of a dark place) but it did wear off for me once I got into a proper routine.

amazing nsv’s @GnomeDePlume, it’s good for the mind to do some reflection, I think we get a bit complacent about how far we have come sometimes. It’s not all about the scales x

@Lds1 you have done so well 🌟 we are are a similar number of lbs away from the ‘healthy’ range. I love going into shops to try things on, please try it, it’s so satisfying! Sizes are all over the place though, I can fit into a 12 bottom in fat face, joules and white stuff and a 14 or 16 top depending on the cut. I spent some time looking at the shop size guides online and compared my measurements to get an idea of what sizes to try. It’s a real treat to just see what styles suit me now.

I've just filled that in.

WELL I spent ages today switching to 'Get a Drip' cos they were a great price (£188 for 7.5) and after all the take photos and videos faff they've messaged saying they won't deliver to a hospital. Argh!

You may have got a lucky escape there though Pearl, I’ve read some horror stories about them and their customer service. A pain for you though, but have a read of the trust pilot reviews, they leave a lot to be desired….
