Well, some of us are new, some of us are nearly at our goal weight and the rest are still in the trenches.

Everyone is welcome here. This is a safe and supportive space for people with a lot of weight to lose.

Congratulations on a great accomplishment!

Welcome @EnterSandfan, I also started in November and have a similar amount of weight to lose as you! 😊

mamabeeboo · 11/01/2026 09:35

Yesterday I signed up for my official first 5K on 15th March!!!
I'm already nervous but so excited. I'm going to be so proud of myself and have a small crowd of cheerleaders coming, lead by my husband and mother 😂

That's awesome! Running (or exercise in general) is just the best high! I love my parkruns but need to get myself organised to book some other races this year, just want to get my pace up a bit first.

FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping · 11/01/2026 11:47

Hello all!

I haven’t posted for aaaaggggeeees as I’m much more of a lurker, but I’ve been following along. Lovely to see new faces on here and lots of success for the existing faces too. @PearlTeapot I was delighted to read about your walk - I know your mobility has been worrying you whilst in hospital so it’s great to hear you haven’t lost out on the gains you’d made on that front!

I’m now up to 10mg and have taken 34 jabs since May. I’ve lost just shy of 5 and a half stone so far, and this morning the scale tantalisingly tipped down to 99.95kg (mixed units I know but I keep an eye on both lbs and kg so I can take a win wherever there’s a round number 😂).

I bought a size 18 dress in the M&S sale expecting it not to fit yet but in fact it fits perfectly! It’s quite stretchy, but even so I can’t remember the last time I was in a size 18 anything so it’s very exciting.

I haven’t done much on the exercise front though - I did start None2Run in the summer but absolutely failed to keep at it when the weather turned, so apart from a lot of walking around in my daily life I don’t really do anything. Really need to look at some strength training I think!

PearlTeapot · 11/01/2026 12:31

KLAXON!!! Like @FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping I too have seen a 99 on the scale today!!! (Yay for us both!)

It'd be less if I could just shit. 2 Senna a night, lactulose morning and night, and and haven't been since Tuesday. I can't take the movicol, I have a gag reflex and it hits it.

TragicMuse · 11/01/2026 13:14

Congratulations on running @mamabeeboo we’re going to be doing one at work, and I’m sort of looking forward to it in a weird way! I’ve got running shoes and sports bra etc. from back when I used to go out 3-4 times a week. My background thinking at the moment is ‘c’mon tired old body. Let’s see what you’ve got’.

Brilliant on the walking @PearlTeapot! That must be something of a reassurance. Hope you get to pooh soon!!

Daily weighing is a roller-coaster world. Today I have lost 6 stone. I’m hoping it stays off for the rest of the week and proper WI!

I’d had a fair bit of nausea on 10mg so dropped back to 7.5mg every 5 days over Christmas. Went back to 10mg on Tuesday and it’s been fine.

I’ll also try to go the usual 7 days and see where I am. It’s not feeling particularly noisy in my head so I should be ok…

Iwouldratherbesinging · 11/01/2026 14:33

Lovely news from both @PearlTeapot and @FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping!! Brilliant 🤩
@mamabeeboo i’m in awe of you! My excuse at the moment is that we are fostering an elderly dog and he suffers terribly with separation anxiety so I can’t leave him, even a shower is problematic, he’s due to go on Xanax next week so hopefully he’ll calm down a bit, I’ll aim for when the weather improves! I really must!
6 stone is amazing @TragicMuse, I’ve done a 5 day gap this week as I’ve lowered my dose, I’m due to jab tomorrow which I will do, then see how I go on a six day gap.

hello @EnterSandfan, 2lb off over Christmas is brilliant, I would never have dreamed of losing weight over Christmas yet I did the last two, it’s a little liquid miracle. You’re in good company here

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 11/01/2026 17:47

Ask for glycerine suppositories @PearlTeapot

Hello all you lovely people!

So much positivity and good news – well done to everyone! I’m sorry I’m not mentioning people individually.

I had a big boost today. I’m no longer obese!

Today was my 50th jab so it’s taken almost a year but I’m so happy. I’ve lost 4.5lbs in the last month which I think is fabulous given two of those weeks covered the Christmas holidays.

Really starting to think about my final goal now. I’d like to get down to a size 14 in trousers. Last time I was a size 12, everybody said (and I agree) that I looked too thin. More than one person told me I looked haggard! And they are lovely, supportive people, not ones who might sabotage. Plus, maintaining it was really hard.

Size 14 felt good and was manageable (until I stopped being mobile and started using a wheelchair) so I think I’m going to use that rather than weight as my target. But things might change over the next few months and I’ll just see how it goes.

Have a great week everyone

Hi all - just catching up on all your posts! Wonderful news of all kinds from you @PearlTeapot, so pleased for you. Welcome to the new folk too!

I'm still struggling, thanks for asking @Onenotsosmallstep. Still eating like the pre-MJ me, still feeling out of control. I've gone up to 12.5 but it's just not working. I know all the things I should be doing but I just don't seem able to do them. It's pissing me off, frankly. Tomorrow is jab day and the start of a fresh week, and I will try very hard to start it the right way (ie, not with four chocolate croissants!). I've not put any more weight on, but am still carrying the stone I gained over Christmas.

Also, can I ask about experiences with delayed delivery? I moved yet again to a new provider - Getweightloss - and all seemed well. Pen was shipped on Tuesday - but since then no updates from Royal Mail, and the provider just assuring me it'll be fine no matter when it lands!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 11/01/2026 19:50

@eibbed999 try injecting every five days.

I love reading all the updates on here, well done to everyone for all the NSVs, the running, the losing, the smaller clothes and all that goes along with it.

So pleased to read your updates @PearlTeapot really glad things are going well for you.

Good luck for a fresh start tomorrow @eibbed999 we’ve all been there and understand how hard it is to get back on the wagon but you can definitely do it, we’re all rooting for you.

My NSV for this weekend is that I did a 20km hike today, lots of which was up steep hills. I loved it, found it pretty easy to keep pace with the group I was with and didn’t get out of breath at all. Weather was a bit shit but saw some lovely countryside and learned a lot about the history of the area. Looking forward to booking another one soon.

Are these where you put one up your bum and then wait? It makes it more embarrassing for me that I'm on 1-2-1 nursing (in my own room) so I'm a bit mortified at the thought of that.

Billybingbong · 11/01/2026 20:09

Ladies, can we please talk hair loss? I know some shedding is to be expected, but mine seems quite extreme, to the point I now have a couple of really patchy sparse areas, and have had to move my parting to disguise it. It's not helped that we are going through some very stressful things at the moment, so it doesn't take much to upset me right now, but I am starting to get quite distressed about it.

I know about collagen, rosemary oil etc, and am willing to try anything, but before I waste my money, does anyone use anything that actually really works? A friend mentioned Hair + Me, is it any good? Or anything, I'm desperate.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 11/01/2026 20:14

I had quite a lot of hair loss about 6 months ago @Billybingbong, I started taking pumpkin seed oil capsules (I was already taking collagen, biotin and applying rosemary and mint oil). It seemed to help, I’ve not lost any hair at all in the last couple of months and it feels a bit thicker so must be growing again. I can’t be sure if it was the pumpkin seed oil or if it would’ve just naturally sorted itself out anyway (most people say it does) but it’s worth a try?

user593 · 11/01/2026 20:16

@Billybingbong I found these really helpful when I had pregnancy-related hair loss/ thinning but haven’t experienced any hair-related adverse effects on MJ yet.

user593 · 11/01/2026 20:19

On an unrelated note I’ve just started taking Ancient & Brave Wild Collagen, hoping it might help with joints and loose skin 😐

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 11/01/2026 22:53

@Billybingbong I have a very fine hair and I don’t have much of it so I’ve been reading many threads about potential hair loss due to weight loss/mj and trying all sorts of things. So here is my routine, hope it helps.

I have been taking iron, biotin and pumpkin seed oil capsules since I started mj. Prior to this I also took collagen (Absolute Collagen) for over a year but stopped due to the cost. No negative impact from this as far as I can tell.

I’m using Plantur 39 shampoo and conditioner, along with Scandinavian Biolabs serum. I have also done 2*6 weeks treatments with Kerastase Genesis serum which seem to help with shedding. With all this, I can see new hair growth but obviously it is very slow growth.

EnterSandfan · 12/01/2026 00:18

@user593 hello! Yay for us doing this , hopefully we'll be hitting some great numbers like a lot of folks on this thread soon 😁

@Iwouldratherbesinging It's crazy isn't it, I've always gained about 5-7lbs over Christmas so this is very weird 😆

eibbed999 · 12/01/2026 07:47

I've just signed up for Hair + Me @Billybingbong - I'll let you know if it works, but they do warn it's no kind of overnight cure. Also got a friend referral thing for a discount so if you decide to use it message me and I'll share that. My hair thinning pre-dates MJ, I suppose it started when I was perimenopausal and now I am firmly post-menopausal at 56 - it's possible to hide it, but the photos I just had to send to Hair + Me were brutal, almost as upsetting as the ones you have to do for MJ! I hadn't realised quite how much I'd lost from my crown - just zig-zaggy bare patches there really. My hair is long so when it's just washed it looks fine, but a day or so after it's so thin. I remember being able to wear it in thick plaits or pony tails, now it's just a pathetic straggle if I pull it all together! It's only hair, not the end of the world, but it doesn't feel great either does it?

Doggymummar · 12/01/2026 08:27

Hmm, just jumped on the scales. And my weight had been holding steady at 155lb, today it is 166lb and I've been to the loo! We have had a lot of take out, too many lattes and i can't remember the last time I drank water. Last recorded weighing was 22 December. We have moved house in that time and the floors are wonky but I've weighed in every room! Oh well, at least I know and can do something about it. Wish I weighed before I made toast tho. Back to basics for me.

user593 · 12/01/2026 09:19

Has anyone travelled with their pen? We are considering going to Thailand for two weeks over Easter and I can jab the day we go, but I’d still need to jab once while there. Particularly nervous because of Thailand’s famous anti-drugs policies…

Onenotsosmallstep · 12/01/2026 09:21

Hope you managed some ‘movement’ overnight @PearlTeapot! Daily weighing is both a bitch and a bit of a dopamine hit when it’s going in the right direction.

I’m stuck, one trip to the loo behind you and @FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping and it feels like a big milestone doesn’t it. Well done all of us.

@SnowWhiteisMyFavourite I’d never been brave enough to attempt running until this year but as I’m now the lightest I’ve been since I was in my late 20s felt brave and have given it a go so it was my third ‘run’ ever completed. Tackling wk2 run1 tomorrow,

I realised on the way to work this morning that I can't push the accelerator all the way to the floor and in actual fact I'm using my tiptoes to just use the pedal normally (hence my leg literally can't reach the full stretch to floor it). That's when I noticed how far I am from the steering wheel now! I need to adjust my driving position I think........ weird the things you just don't notice!
