Well, some of us are new, some of us are nearly at our goal weight and the rest are still in the trenches.

Everyone is welcome here. This is a safe and supportive space for people with a lot of weight to lose.

@Onenotsosmallstep I was so happy with my daily weight this morning, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much as it isn't officially recorded until Thursday!

I have 1 trip to Europe planned but if needs be can move injection day rather than taking it with me. I've never travelled abroad with it before.

SW:144kg (size 28)
CW:97kg (size 16-18)
GW: ?? (size 12-14)

Morning losers, hope all is well. I have absolutely loads of hair, so despite experiencing some hair loss, it hasn't actually made a difference to my overall bush 😆

Someone commented a while ago to not purchase too many clothes in advance because you might drop the sizes quite quickly. I didn't listen and have carried on purchasing clothes in advance as inspiration to fit into. Lost track of which clothes are old and new in my wardrobe, and realised that I have a bunch of unworn size 18 clothes, which I bought back in Sept when my goal was to be a size 18. They are now slightly too big for me, so I'm wearing all sorts of clothes everyday for the sake of wearing it. I wonder what looks I'll get if I end up wearing a purple evening dress on today's school run😂 Oh the good problems to have!

NSV, I'm sitting at work cross-legged, like both feet on the seat, with the laptop on my lap, feeling very comfortable and flexible. I feel so thin.

@user593 I personally just wouldn't travel with the pen and call it a loss for that week. I'd be quite nervous about any questions that might be asked, especially in somewhere like Thailand.

Has anyone travelled with their pen? We are considering going to Thailand for two weeks over Easter and I can jab the day we go, but I’d still need to jab once while there. Particularly nervous because of Thailand’s famous anti-drugs policies…

I just had a thought that I might try on my wedding dress! It will be 20 years this year and I think I might be within range of getting into it again…

weegiemum · 12/01/2026 13:37

Just got weighed! Even over Christmas (when I drank WAY too much wine) I’ve lost a pound! Which puts me under 25stone since I don’t know when. I’m delighted! Still on 10mg and it’s going well.

PearlTeapot · 12/01/2026 13:49

Well done weegiemum!

@user593 I'd not bother with thailand and just skip a week.

TheZingyFish · 12/01/2026 14:32

Good afternoon all, loving hearing about everyone getting back on track after Christmas but feels different as the debts are so much smaller if even apparent due to the support we have from the MJ.

Four pounds off for me, so now only 1/2lb until I hit 6 stone, pure madness! I only put on 1/2 over 3 weeks of Christmas and being away, when usually I would be able to put on a stone or more and then it take me the whole of January and a chunk of February to get back to where I was.

I feel this is going to be the year I get to where I want to be for the first time in my adult life, very exciting!

I’m going away in a couple of months so interested in hearing what people are doing for travel, would need to jab twice whilst away so don’t want to miss that much so need to take it with me. Was going to speak to my pharmacy and see if they will give me a letter and then just pack in my hand luggage. I bought a case which includes a couple of cool packs and will then just put it into the fridge in the hotel room but any guidance of what others have done will be gratefully received.

What do we think iv the new 7,2 mg Wegovy? I just went to order it and it's £300, only a tenner cheaper than MJ 15mg. What we doing ladies?

I’ve not paid more than £240 for 15mg of mj by chasing discounts and swapping supplier every month to whoever is cheapest on monj.co.uk.

SilenceInside · 12/01/2026 15:32

15mg from my provider (Swift) is £284 so £300 still seems quite expensive. It's moot for me as I am not planning on switching to Wegovy at any point.

CrispinWhispers · 12/01/2026 16:14

Did anyone feel so lethargic in the first few weeks after starting they couldn’t bear the thought of exercise? I’m doing fine with the healthy eating but I honestly can’t bring myself to do anything strenuous. Does it get better? I’m only on 2.5 so dreading going up a dose if I’m this tired already

Lds1 · 12/01/2026 16:35

At the moment wegovy doesn't affect me as I have no plans to swap. It seems to be expensive, I think for £10 difference is just stick with MJ.

@CrispinWhispers I felt bad the first few weeks but it got better each time, you can stay on 2.5 if you can tolerate continuing you don't have to move up a dose.

Thank you ☺️ tbh I wouldn’t mind staying at the lowest dose because of the price if nothing else!

PearlTeapot · 12/01/2026 16:47

@CrispinWhispers no need to go up a dose if you're losing, and side effects will pass as you get used to them I think. I never got lethargic but hopefully someone else can help. I've done 7 months and just under 4 stone on 2.5.

That’s brilliant! Well done on your loss 😊

eibbed999 · 12/01/2026 17:05

Well, it might only be 5pm, but I think I've just managed the first 'normal' day I've had since Dec 18, in terms of eating and drinking - and by normal I mean controlled, orderly and nothing I had to do in private due to embarrassment about how much I was stuffing in my face! It feels good to have finally managed that, and hopefully I'll get back on track and lose my Evil Christmas Stone. Thanks to all of you for your non-judgement, your advice, and your cheerleading - I think @MummyInTheNecropolis saying the simple words 'we're all rooting for you' made a huge difference, and when I woke up this morning I just felt capable of staying on the straight and narrow - I even walked around Sainsburys without buying the entire pastry shelf! A long way to go to feel confident in myself again, and it will be a while before I have trust in my own choices and in the MJ process I think - this whole crash and burn has been a real eye opener - but it's a start at least! I don't even care about the weight gain, it was feeling so out of control that was upsetting me (and of course then making me eat more!). Fingers crossed...

Iwouldratherbesinging · 12/01/2026 18:04

@Billybingbong I seem to have lost loads of hair in the last 5 months or so, I was shedding hair at the start but I had quite a lot so it didn’t worry me too much but it does now, I bought some clip in human hair extensions just to give me some extra volume which look really good, but I’m considering buying a hair topper as my crown is looking sparse. I did take biotin which didn’t really do much for me, I do have wispy re growth, but knowing I can disguise it makes me feel better.

PearlTeapot · 12/01/2026 19:13

@eibbed999 it's a nice feeling, being in control isn't it? Hopefully this is the turning point for you. Feeling out of control I can definitely (we can all I'm sure) relate to and it's just thoroughly miserable. So here's to brighter days for you.

my hair loss makes me sad, my lovely thick hair had just disappeared and I have limp thin hair now. When I go home I'm definitely getting it cut off into a bob. I don't take supplements etc, I've yet to see anything to convince me.

TragicMuse · 12/01/2026 19:14

I know what you mean @eibbed999 I’ve been working hard today to start breaking my habit with the office chocolate. I counted it all but I just don’t want to be in the place where I am always reaching for it. I’m not even that keen on it, I’m a savoury girl! Give me cheese!

I’m on day 6 after jab so it took a bit more effort. But hopefully a few more days following jab tomorrow will help

Iwouldratherbesinging · 12/01/2026 19:57

That was lovely to read @eibbed999 💐

I can't change monthly as I am at pretty much goal weight now I am actually 26 bmi right now having gained ten pound over Christmas but I don't think anyone will supply me. I just thought people were switching to wegovy due to price but it's only £10 cheaper so i dont see the point of risking side effects to save that.

I went to Japan for two weeks and traveled with my jab, in my hands luggage. Had no problems at all (and they’re very strict about what prescribed medication you can bring in). I was in two minds as to whether to take it but didn’t want to have to go back through the doses because I’d missed a couple. It was easy to store in a travel pouch and then in hotel fridges and we travelled around a bit with no problems.

It’s not for everyone I know, but it was easy to do and I lost a couple of lb while away.

This is something I’ve been wondering about, I know there are certain ‘maintenance friendly’ prescribers but at what BMI does it start to become harder to shop around? Don’t know if anyone has an experience they could share?

Billybingbong · 12/01/2026 22:32

Thanks everyone for the hair advice. It seems like it's a common problem among us. So, with all your tips, and a bit of help from ChatGPT, I have an action plan. I've ordered Minoxidil, pumpkin seed oil and omega 3. Im also going to make an extra effort with my protein, and keep my fingers firmly crossed that this all helps, before it gets any worse. My hair used to be my crowning glory, it was always really thick and healthy, but menopause & monjo is destroying it ☹️

EnterSandfan · 13/01/2026 00:12

Has everybody with big losses suffered from hair loss? I'm terrified tbh, I used to have really thick (but slow growing) hair, but pregnancy and breastfeeding has made it sooooo thin and straggly, and I'm sure peri will be around the corner before too long, plus with mj in the mix I'm worried I'll have none left!
