Well, some of us are new, some of us are nearly at our goal weight and the rest are still in the trenches.

Everyone is welcome here. This is a safe and supportive space for people with a lot of weight to lose.

Only 3 days left of 2025!
I'm still trying to reach a weight loss of 30 kg in 2025. SW was 132,5 kg, weigh-in yesterday was 102,8 kg - so only 300 grams (less than a pound) to go. I was eating really well yesterday plus doing a lot of exercise (hula hoop, walking, gym) and stayed well below my calorie deficit. Until we decided spontaneousely to meet up with some friends for an after Christmas present exchange. It was a lovely and relaxed evening. They had however ordered pizza and I ate one slice plus some salad (without dressing), drank a glass of wine and had two pieces of chocolate. Not too bad for an evening out but I went 500 calories over my daily allowance.
This morning the scale was at 103,7 kg: 900 grams more than yesterday and 1,2 kg (so almost 3 pounds) away from the 30 kg loss I was trying to reach.
Back on track today: I will definitely stay within my calorie deficit and am heading for the gym in a minute. Still not sure if I can reach my goal in the remainder of this year.🫤

I would go for a sauna if it's that important. My friends husband is a boxer and can drop 4lb in a session if he needs to make weight.

Lds1 · 29/12/2025 09:56

plans trip to sauna before Thursday! 😁

NSV - I’ve just been shopping in the sales, had a new look voucher, found a fitted, zip up dress that I loved but they didn’t have it in a 10 so I tried the 8 and it bloody well fit! This time last year I was bursting out of my size 24 clothes - now I’m wearing a size 8! Just unbelievable!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 29/12/2025 18:15

Wow @MummyInTheNecropolis that's amazing!!

I tried today in Weird Fish. Size 16 dress didn't fit right over my stomach (disproportionately large) but size 18 too big. I tried size 18 jeans to see what they looked like. Battle to do up but with a top covering bum would be okay but unfortunately I look like a potato on sticks! Maybe in 6months time?

I'm nearly at a year so gone fro. 26 - 16/18. Nowhere near as good as you mummy but still a huge change!

I can't imagine size 8!

Anotherstressedmother · 30/12/2025 07:21

How is everyone doing with skin
I swim every day ,and after a break for Christmas I went back yesterday
The skin at the top of my legs on the inside, seems to of got considerably worse.
If I wasn't swimming,I suppose I'd not notice it ,as I'd be covered up.
The stomach is also going down like a deflated balloon
But it's still all worth it .
I managed a small loss over Christmas, while still enjoying to odd bit of what I fancy .
I'm still using longer needles ,and having run out for my last jab and having to use a shorter one ,I realised it definitely makes a difference for me .
I haven't tried jabbing anywhere other than my stomach..so if anyone has any recommendations for places to ab they find works better ,be glad to hear
Can't believe I'm going I to the new year over 10 stone less than last year.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 30/12/2025 07:48

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden you’re doing brilliantly! I was a size 16-18 for ages, then suddenly just dropped quickly down through 14.12 and into 10. I am definitely not a size 8, just happened to find a dress in this size that fit well. I definitely couldn’t wear size 8 jeans!

I rarely post my actual weekly losses or the time scale as I am, and have always been a fast loser (and a fast re-gainer! Hoping not this time though). I once lost 6 stone on slimming world really quickly, then regained it all plus an extra few stone in record time 🤦‍♀️.

TragicMuse · 30/12/2025 11:46

I didn’t weigh this morning, but have been maintaining and not calorie-counting for the whole of the last 10 days. I don’t know if I’m ready to make that my default state yet. I’m going to think about it.

Still. I’m quite pleased I’ve managed it so far.

PearlTeapot · 30/12/2025 12:54

Just took a good look at my lipoedema legs. Look exactly the same. Here’s a hidden photo for anyone interested.

My top half is half the size but my hips and legs exactly the same, six stone later. I knew it would be the case but it’s still upsetting. I think I look even more deformed now my bottom half looks even bigger compared to the top half

They do look painful lovely. Im not familiar lipoedema, will they get smaller? Can they be drained, isit water? Sorry please don't answer if it's intrusive

PearlTeapot · 30/12/2025 14:30

Not intrusive! No, it's not water it's a build up of a type of fat that can't be removed once there by diet or exercise. Only a specific type of liposuction which is extremely expensive (and it grows back).

They're not painful just very heavy. My mobility was badly affected but now they feel much lighter even though the same size, they're softer, before they were were so swollen I couldn't bear to touch them the skin was so stretched tight, that's stopped now.

flipent · 30/12/2025 14:34

@PearlTeapot I'm sorry and I sympathise. It can be so disheartening - but really focus on all the improvements you are feeling - including in your legs. You're doing amazing!
Focus on everything you can control and all of the positives in your life.
(I know that is easier said than done, I really do)

I'm similarly a fast loser, I'd be interested in the progress of someone similar to me.

Back in 2017 I lost 8 stone in 9 months, with the first 7st of those at a rate of 1 stone per month. Maintained to lockdown, took me from 2020 to 2022 to put 7 of those 8 stone back on.

This time around, I started at 17st11 on 22nd July and am now 13st 5 - about 4 1/2 stone in 5 months. I find losing weight easy, by biggest challenge is yet to come - maintaining.

I have something of an 'All-or-Nothing' mentality. Since end of July I have eaten no sugar, no carbs, low fat, low calories. Essentially I eat low carb vegetables and lean meat, one meal a day with two fast days most weeks. I don't feel deprived or concerned by my diet, I'm fine with it. My issue is that I either eat like My Body Is A Temple and exceptionally healthy, or I decide I'm not eating like that and eat literally anything and everything. And I am as equally unconcerned and fine with my diet when eating crap.

I struggle with the finding a middle ground that I can psychologically maintain long term.

I often face judgement if I describe my diet to others.

What's new this time, that I've not tried before (aside from WLI) is my use of fast days. I like the idea of feast and fast, it might suit me. I'm considering water fast days as part of a maintenance plan.

52soon · 30/12/2025 16:36

I’ve made it onto the chart BMI 39.9 from starting MJ at 47.8 and 51.6 at my heaviest. Slow and steady at 1lb a week, 2lb until I’m in the 14’s I can’t remember the last time I weighed that probably 20 years ago.
I jabbed as normal over Christmas and didn’t deprive myself but noticed my lack of wanting chocolate compared to other years where I would mindlessly eat it because it was there this year it doesn’t interest me at all.

Happy New Year everyone and keep on keeping on, we are all doing amazingly.

SilenceInside · 30/12/2025 17:54

Ooh confratulations @52soon getting on the chart is a fabulous milestone! Great way to start the new year.

Glad to know it’s not just me @AmberLime all I see is people saying how it’s better to lose slowly, and listing all of the terrible effects of losing too fast (none of which have been issues for me thankfully)! I never intended to lose so fast, and I haven’t been as strict with my eating as you. I generally eat 2 meals a day, just a coffee for breakfast (sometimes a piece of fruit as well) and then a normal lunch (soup, salad, poke bowl) and a normal dinner (chicken breast with potatoes and veg, salmon fillet with rice and veg, that kind of thing). I eat much smaller portions and don’t snack much at all which I think has been the biggest change. I also drink 4-5 litres of water a day.

I started on 9th January this year and have lost 13 stone 2 pounds, so just over a stone a month. I kept expecting it to slow down as I got closer to target but it never did, I’ve carried on losing 3-4lbs most weeks: I am now aiming to maintain by increasing my calories. I plan to do this by adding more healthy fats to my diet eg olive oil, nuts, seeds. I really don’t want to go back to constant snacking or eating junk food but I am worried. I’m just going to take it a day at a time and work it out as I go. I do think I will need to be on MJ (hopefully the lowest does) forever.

I never went above 10mg, I had my last jab of that this week and have a 7.5mg to start next week. Will see how I get on.

AmberLime · 30/12/2025 21:40

That's great going @MummyInTheNecropolis. I'm impressed, you should be proud of yourself!

Are you exercising? That might be a good maintenance plan too.

I'd be interested to see how you manage with titrating down, so do keep posting about it. I'm happy at 7.5mg (which I take ftom a 15mg pen), but fo hope to titrate down and off WLI in the end, if I can.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 31/12/2025 01:09

@AmberLime yes I do lots of exercise, I walk 15-20k steps a day, do parkrun every weekend plus 1 or 2 runs during the week, I do yoga twice a day, swim once a week and do Pilates once or twice a week. The key for me was to find some form of exercise that I actually enjoyed rather than forcing myself to go to the gym, as I wanted it to be sustainable and enjoyable.

Pre MJ I averaged 5-6k steps a day and did no other exercise. I have introduced it all gradually, starting by increasing my steps by 2k at a time, walking to work and back instead of getting the bus etc. started couch to 5k in April after I’d lost the first few stone and kept it up after I finished the programme. Started yoga and Pilates around the same time and have loved seeing how much more I can do as the weight has come off. My balance and posture is so much better, as well as my speed and stamina.

I’ve also started hiking, only done one so far which was 11 miles, I absolutely loved it and have my next one booked for the 11th Jan, 12.5 miles this time.

I think the exercise has helped with the loose skin, I do still have it especially on my thighs and upper arms but it’s nowhere near as bad as I expected it to be and my stomach isn’t bad at all.

Thought I'd jump on the scales to check, I still have suppression so its been about 10 days since I jabbed, I should write it down really. No gain so far so I'm happy with that.

TragicMuse · 31/12/2025 11:44

I’m holding steady and have stayed the same since last week. Which feels a bit odd but I’ll take it! I’m not complaining at all, I’m just a bit surprised!

I’m thinking that today I might wear a pair of jeans I bought in 1994…

Missingducks · 31/12/2025 14:25

Happy New Year my Loser friends! Didn't quite make it to 127kg (20stones) to end 2025 but damned close. And so much better than start of the year. Average of 7lb a month down since April.

At my house we have spent £1000 less on groceries this year than last (which I have invested in MJ of course).

Target for 2026 is another 6 stones down. Long target is to be 12 stones by April 2027.

Also want to be able to ride again.

canaritini · 31/12/2025 15:47

Last day of 2025!
I did it! I've lost 30 kg this year (SW 132,5 kg, CW 102,2 kg).
I won't see the same number on the scale tomorrow as I'm going to have a big dinner tonight so will definitely gain a bit. But I've set up some good habits this year and I'm confident that I will make more progress in 2026.
Next goal is 100 kg (-2,2 kg) on January 24th which will be my MJ anniversary.
I wish all of you a happy and healthy new year!🥂🎉🍀

I had an unfortunate reminder yesterday of why I’m on this journey…my Dsis passed away unexpectedly. She was only 5yrs older than me and had struggled with her weight her whole life. One of the reasons she couldn’t undergo the emergency surgery was her weight-it brought significant disadvantages…so she opted to not undergo it.

Unofficial weigh in today given its last day of the year and my Christmas gain is back off again. Hopefully it lasts til Saturday and proper weight in. Bought lots of salad stuff today so with exception of NY day dinner (steak pie) then I’m back to OMAD for 2026.

3st 5lbs to get me to target. If I can do that by summer holidays then I can potentially look at my planned surgery during the October break.

Happy New Year when it comes losers…catch up with you all next year.

mamabeeboo · 31/12/2025 17:52

You are all doing so incredibly well!
I gained 5lbs over the Christmas period which I'm very pleased with, and subsequently lost 1.5lbs overnight so I'm looking forward to my weight stabilising and going back downwards.

I ended last year as a size 28 and this year I'm a comfortable size 18.

Here's to another year being losers!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
