TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 29/11/2025 12:34

Well, some of us are new, some of us are nearly at our goal weight and the rest are still in the trenches.

Everyone is welcome here. This is a safe and supportive space for people with a lot of weight to lose.

for my golden dose I got 7.1 in the insulin syringe from my 2.5 pen . What dose is that? How do you work it out ?

SilenceInside · 11/12/2025 21:28

@diggitydoo if that’s 0.71ml then, a full dose from any strength pen is always 0.6ml. So from your 2.5mg pen, 0.6ml is 2.5mg. 0.71 is 118% of 0.6, so 118% of 2.5mg is 2.96mg, so as near as you like to 3mg.

0.6ml is 2.5mg.

I'd disperse a tiny quantity till you've got 0.7ml exactly, because it's easier to calculate.

So now you've got an extra 0.1ml of medication, which is one sixth of 2.5.
That's 0.416 which you'd round up to 0.42.

That gives you a total of 2.92mg of MJ in your 0.7ml of medication.

If you don't want more than your normal dose, just use the 0.6ml. That's your 2.5mg.

(All the pens contain one dose of whatever strength the pen is, in 0.6ml of the medication)

Did you inject it all @diggitydoo?
It's fine if you did BTW.
The dose is obviously higher than your first four.

Thanks @PearlTeapot it really is life changing.

I could probably list 101 NSVs but the best thing is no longer feeling like I take up too much space, constantly being worried about going to new places because the chairs or tables are too small, or just feeling that I dont fit.

A friend gave me the best compliment recently, we were talking about MJ and he asked how long I'd stay on the injections and I said until I was at a healthy weight. He said that i look fantastic and he was very surprised that I'm not already a healthy weight. I think he was worried he'd put his foot in his mouth, but I was blown away....never thought I'd be so delighted to hear someone think I was a normal weight! Of course the reality is that I have another 6 stone or so to go. But clearly this is working.

diggitydoo · 11/12/2025 22:47

Thank you everyone. Yes I took it all. Hopefully a helpful bridge between 2.5 and my next pen that is 5.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 12/12/2025 05:57

Morning all, lovely to read all your updates, especially the NSVs. Weigh in day for me today, and a good loss brings me to a total loss of exactly 13 stone! My BMI is now exactly 25 (down from 53.1) and I am only one pound away from ‘my target of being a healthy BMI (just)! I really hope I can do it this week, got a lot of Christmas partying planned so will just have to try hard and hope for the best!

GnomeDePlume · 12/12/2025 06:57

Thank you @Lds1 your comments about goal and perceiving oneself as slim (or not) resonated with me.

I wonder if many people reach goal and think 'done it!'. Or is there always another goal. Today's mountain becoming tomorrow's rut.

As has been pointed out time and again, mounjaro isnt a diet. There isnt the same diet fatigue as with other diets.

EverybodysALebowski · 12/12/2025 08:12

Well, after complaining that I seemed to be stuck on a plateau the scale is moving again. Even though I've changed nothing in terms of what I eat and have had flu so haven't been as active as usual. And I only have the respiratory flu symptoms so the lurgy isn't responsible for the loss.

So, year-end-ish thoughts after 6.5 months of this:

I've now lost 15% of my starting weight. (edited - apparently I can't math in the mornings!)
Breathing (asthma, snoring, sleep) is miles better; knees and back are no longer painful every day; stamina and energy way up. (Aside from this week with the flu of course!)
Drinking is way down. Deliveroo is bombarding me with special offers as I used to be a weekly regular and now have only ordered once since June. Also saving money on taking lunch (yogurt or leftovers) rather than falling into the habit of buying at work, and only getting coffee rather than coffee and a pastry.
Even if I have occasional cravings, I'm much better at saying no.
Got my yearly tests at the docs (for thyroid and other stuff) and everything is smack in the middle of the normal range. Well, aside from BMI.

Still a ways to go, but even if I didn't lose much more and just maintained I'd be very happy with the improvements so far.

I'm still not great at self-control issues if there's an open box of sweet or salty treats in the house, but much better than before. (Although I can now have an open bottle of wine in the fridge for a week and have no interest in it, which is amazing for me.)

Doggymummar · 12/12/2025 08:49

Morning losers 😜 we are moving house today hopefully. Due to complete on our first purchase together today. Its taken 8 weeks from viewing to today such a quick turnaround we are super excited. I've still got three of the 15mg pens left I bought in August as I've been eeking them out but I had a call with oushk anyway to keep on the books luckily they thought I was still overweight enough to prescribe. My arms are super toned from moving boxes and I still dont have a job 🙃 but hopefully I'll get one soon.

Hope you are all doing well

Billybingbong · 12/12/2025 08:53

Morning all. Week 36, and 1lb off this week. Which means I have hit my christmas mini target of 6st off, so I am delighted.

My son came round last night, and we ended up fishing out his childhood christmas photos. Him & DH were reminiscing and talking happy memories, but I was just inwardly cringing. I barely recognised myself, and it just made me sad to realise that my kids have only ever known me big. I just wish MJ had existed 20 years ago! 😊

SW 22st 8lb
CW 16st 8lb
GW 11st 4lb

You may have got a lucky escape there though Pearl, I’ve read some horror stories about them and their customer service. A pain for you though, but have a read of the trust pilot reviews, they leave a lot to be desired….

Oh no, that'll teach me not to do my research, I'm hoping they'll deliver to my dad who lives local enough to bring it. If not it'll be a fight for a refund. SIGH

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 12/12/2025 09:17

I had my work Christmas party last night, and had a lovely time, but really noticed the difference that the MJ makes. I was running late to get there and was really hungry, in the past I'd have had a snack on the way as I'd be obsessing about the hunger otherwise, but last night I didn't. The main parts of the meal there wasn't much difference, but the pudding was a platter of mini desserts - in the past I'd have had at least 3 or 4, more if I thought I could do it without looking greedy, but last night I just wasn't interested. Then when I got home, in the past I might have had a sandwich or something as the meal wasn't particularly filling, but I didn't even consider it. And this morning, I didn't have anything prepped to bring for lunch, but instead of thinking 'sod it' and buying lunch at work, I hunted round the kitchen to cobble together a healthy lunch, saving both money and calories!

UsernameShmusername2024 · 12/12/2025 09:39

Week 43 weigh in for me this morning - very pleased with a 1.5lb loss which I wasn't expecting as I've eaten a lot of bread and other carbs this week while I've been ill with a bad cold. This takes my overall loss to 116lbs, so just over 8 stone which is so amazing to me! I'm still over 17st so a long way to go but feeling great.

Suddenly getting a lot of comments from people saying how 'well' I look - I just say 'thanks' and move on. Still only told my partner and one friend who is also on MJ.

Could definitely happily eat a lot of Xmas food that we have in (have basically demolished a panettone this week!) but I'm trying to enjoy things in moderation, accept that a bit of weight gain is normal over Xmas and focus on things that I really want rather than eating a mince pie just because it's there!

TragicMuse · 12/12/2025 09:44

I’ve switched my WI day. Tomorrow I think!

This week though I jabbed on day 5 which was on Tuesday. It’s made things a lot more manageable! However it does mean that if I stick to 5 days I’d be jabbing on Christmas Eve which I don’t want to do. Not because I want to glut myself but mostly because the nausea and lack of desire to cook really kicks in and that’s not optimal for all the things I want to cook for my family! So think I’ll go again on 5th day on Sunday and then return to 7 days for Christmas period. That feels reasonable for me.

It’s all over the place!

Anyway, it seems to have been the little boot up the arse I needed, things are looking good for WI tomorrow.

Billybingbong · 12/12/2025 11:04

@TragicMuse That sounds like a good plan. I'm now jabbing every 6 days, and its made a massive difference. It really helps keep my supression at a steady rate all week, no more end of week dips. I tried increasing my dose, but just got 4 days of hardly being able to eat, followed by 3 days of hunger. So I dropped back down to 5mg, and do every 6 instead, it's working a treat.

TragicMuse · 12/12/2025 11:08

Actually @Billybingbong that sounds like a a good refinement to my plan! 10mg for me is quite full-on for the lack of interest in food for the first 3 days. I don’t objectively mind as such, but it can be very tiring when I don’t really want to eat anything at all and need some energy!

I might try 7.5 every 5 days after Christmas…

Iwouldratherbesinging · 12/12/2025 11:48

I jab 15mg every 6 days, I was planning on switching to Wegovy after Christmas but decided against it so am going to drop to 10mg MJ every 5 days to keep my levels consistent, try 2 months at 10mg then drop to 7.5 every 5 days and so on.

Hi all, I am new to this thread. I’m on day 17 of MJ and I’ve lost 23.5lbs so far. I’m aiming to lose another 147.5lbs 🫣

I have that terrible cold going around at the moment which is making me feel extra crap!

SilenceInside · 12/12/2025 20:07

@user593 hello, welcome 👋 Sounds like you've had a really fast start so far! Half my household has the terrible lurgy atm, and I am desperately hoping not to catch it.

Welcome! That does sound like an awfully fast start, hopefully you're still managing to eat enough for good health. I'm feeling rubbish at the moment too, had to come home early from work yesterday and went straight to bed for a couple of hours, then only managed a couple of hours downstairs before heading back to bed at 8pm! Hope we all feel better soon.

PearlTeapot · 13/12/2025 08:19

I really fancied a weekend blow out with the pastries today but on the way to the kitchen I popped in and weighed myself and HELLO MOTIVATION! 100.8! So here I am with my yogurt and coffee instead, maybe doesn't taste as good but mentally feels a lot better. SO CLOSE TO SEEING THAT 99!

Well done! I love how in the right circumstances you can get so much more joy and satisfaction from making the healthy choice than you can from the delicious food 🥰
