Hey everyone! 👋 I'm a long time lurker here, November 24 starter. Had great success losing over the last year. Got to summer feeling wonderful but also a bit bald! So I stopped altogether. Hair loss slowed back to normal and weight piled back on... I've now started jabbing again, as fat took over from bald as the main concern! But wondering what those of you who can feel hair returning have done? Do you think it's cyclical and has settled down, or are you throwing everything at it and convinced that's made a difference?

I've been using a red light head band that I got when there was a discount.

I don't know if it's that or time that's helped, but I was losing a lot around April/ May and the baby hairs in my fringe are almost back to the same length as the fringe itself.

Afternoon all! I'm delighted to report that I have had no side effects from going up to 10mg - going from 5mg to 7.5mg was pretty horrendous so that's a huge relief. The suppression is very good and the main problem is working what I want to eat (very little and very protein based) around what the family want to eat and when.

I think the key for me is jabbing in the morning on an empty stomach as the 7.5mg symptoms were probably around having jabbed in the evening and then drastically slowing down digestion of whatever was working its way through.

PinkArt · 10/12/2025 16:07

Exciting NSV, I looked down today and realised I couldn't see my tummy poking out. Now having big boobs helps with this enormously, as I can't see most of my body past them, but it's the first time in about a decade that it's happened.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 10/12/2025 16:16

Loving that NSV @PinkArt 😂 so much so I think it deserves a klaxon

Thank you for the info on the kibbe system @RayonSunrise . It’s interesting. I’m still adjusting to whatever my new shape is so just trying to figure out what works and doesn’t, might look into further in the new year.

Fabulous news @SerenePeer that’s such a relief and especially at this time of year.

Sorry to hear you’re not well @KentishMama hope it’s starting to lift.

Hi @Primitivo ! Hair loss… mine has finally gone back to manageable / normal levels (and it never became noticeable to others), I have however thrown a few different things at the situation so it’s difficult to know why it’s settled down / improved. One key thing which I suspect is helping is oral minoxidil - I started it in the summer. I’m only on a tiny dose of 0.5mg but after reading about potential side effects I’m glad of that and won’t go any higher (unless my hair goes dreadful again!). No side effects which has been good. I’m also using nioxin shampoo, conditioner and the treatment mousse (the system) but interchanging with normal shampoo and conditioner from time to time as I find the nioxin quite drying (not sure the conditioner is that great as a conditioner tbh!). The minoxidil is through Hair and Me. You can also just buy the topical stuff on Amazon (apparently just buy the men’s one - it’s cheaper and the same / better!). If I stop the oral I might try the topical, but be warned it’s toxic to pets.

Good luck with finding a solution!

Literally ordered minoxidil today from Hair + Me after DH helpfully said my hair was much thinner. I didn’t even look at potential side effects but I haven’t got high blood pressure so it shouldn’t matter. My original plan was to come off MJ and I have tapered down to 2.5mg, but I can’t find much information from people on whether the whole lot regrows or it just stops thinning further when you come off. I need it to regrow properly! I do have baby hairs at my temples in particular.

A lot of people take it at much higher doses with no issues so I think it’s mostly fine. It’s sometimes (or used to be) used to help reduce blood pressure so I can understand if you’re already on meds for that it might be contraindicated.

Weirdly I’ve just been prompted by Hair & Me to complete a review form to confirm how I’m getting on with it so they do check in from time to time. I did tell them it’s better than it was etc but I’ve not seen absolutely loads of regrowth so will see what they say. Maybe I’m overthinking any issues with a higher dose. My hair is looking better.

I’ve been lurking in various Reddit groups / threads which is useful too (thinning hair etc). Also in some skincare groups which is also helpful. I have noticed a slight emergence of a turkey neck (just under my chin) (drat!). Read a thread about Morpheus 8 which has put me off greatly; it was described by one person as having a hundred tattoos at once whilst being electrocuted, and another said it was like having a hot hole punch repeatedly punched through the skin. Also that it can cause fat / volume loss under the skin which isn’t great for face / neck.

Getting older is not fun 🤣

On another note, anyone else seen the comments from Kate Winslet about weight loss jabs etc? I love her but I’m a bit 🙄

My hair has definitely thinned. It is my new obsession - even more than my turkey neck…😭 I’m now on week 1 of my 2.5mg on my titrating down programme which will last 10 weeks. My hair loss has definitely slowed down since reducing my testosterone dose - so check that if you are taking it as part of your HRT routine. I am hoping that reducing the MJ dose will slow it all down. I had definitely got regrowth (before the Testosterone issue) all over my head though from taking the Revive enhanced plus Collagen sachets which consists of hydrolysed collagen. So I’d advocate that.

In the meantime, my hair looks better if I apply a volumising mousse before blow drying so I’d recommend that as a trick too.

Yep - not sure where Kate was going with it all really. Each to their own I say. I don’t have fillers or Botox (yet!) but I don’t judge anyone who does either.

I know someone that’s had the M8 and it isn’t a miraculous result…any treatment that involves heat does mean that a loss of fat where you don’t want lose it as well as where you do…

Glad your hair is looking better tho! 🥰

I think I was most annoyed because I asked him to trim my hair (too embarrassed to go to hairdresser) and he went oooh, it has gone really thin. I’ve been asking him for months if it looks thinner and he’s always said no. Clearly he either never bloody looks at me or never listens to a word I’m saying. Also, knowing him, he’s looking at the ends - which will be really thin - and not the scalp to see whether it’s growing back.

You’re brave..! I wouldn’t let DH anywhere near mine- he’s the original blueprint for the short-lived Amazon’s ‘crap wrap’ option to fool women into thinking their husband had actually wrapped the gifts themselves by furnishing warehouse workers with brown paper, nail scissors and parcel tape 😂 I also refer to myself as ‘white noise’ because he doesn’t listen to me either..so I set up an email address that we can both access where I send links to hotels/events/holidays/new restaurants etc that we both might enjoy. At least that way he doesn’t need to rely on active listening 😉

Don’t be too scared to go to the hairdressers though, they might be able to recommend a style that suits your hair until it recovers. And confirm of the growth is all over?

Dreamqueen · 11/12/2025 14:22

I think i was one of the first to panic on here about hair loss. @TooExtraImmatureCheddar I can confirm after a trip to the hairdresser yesterday that I've got a good thick regrowth of about 4 inches. I've been taking collagen, biotin, multivitamins and the hair tummies from Home Bargains. i'd started off on a more expensive hair gummy but then compared that to the £5 one from home bargains and there isn't too much difference.

I've been laid up in bed for nearly 2 weeks with the lurgy that's going around. The only bright spot in it all is a loss of 5lbs. I've never gone off food before no matter what the illness but I barely could lift my head off the pillow. On the mend and menu planning on the sofa nowfor festive entertaing with absolutely no interest in food. I mananged to wing it through the Christmas kitchen last year. Only my DIL knew then that I had started on MJ. This year DIL and DS know. Hilariously my DH is still oblivious to me having lost nearly 4 stone (I've just worked out that's the weight of our granddaughter)

Checking in after a while! Anniversary has been and gone, my weight hasn't really changed since September 🎉

SW 14st
CW 9 1/2 st
GW 9 1/2 st (or was it 10st?)

It's crazy to think I've lost a third of my body weight!

Has anyone ordered from MedExpress lately? Any new procedures there? And are there any ways to save these days, e.g. by swapping providers, even if in maintenance?

I haven't ordered pens since August, as had a bit of a supply, and have been jabbing roughly every 3 weeks, 7.5mg. However, I'll jab 5mg every 3 weeks or so now, and see how that goes. Appetite seems permanently low, e.g. a 2-course meal requires real effort. However, chocolate/biscuit snacks will probably always be my downfall, I did have a whole pack more than once this week!

For me, the mental health benefits/ calm MJ brings are still difficult to let go of. What with Christmas coming up, I'd certainly like to have a pen handy in case there's any drama! I could run a buddhist temple on MJ 😆

How's everyone feeling about Christmas and the constant food offerings and meals out that come with it?

Goldleafcat · 12/12/2025 07:53

Good morning and happy Friday!

Not much of a loss here for me this week, 0.4lbs but it’s not too bad (I wolfed a big fish pie last night!). Have also upped my creatine a bit (only to around 7g) and wondering if that’s making me retain water more than usual (I’m a bit of a camel at the best of times). Have noticed I’m quite thirsty as a potential side effect (but I’m also still trying to shake off this lingering chesty cough / cold - getting on for 3 weeks now 🙄). I’ve also switched from the HRT patches to gel and micronised progesterone to see how I get on with that. So far, I’ve been more irritable, short tempered and forgetful which isn’t great. I think it does mean the patches were working though! I’ve however probably been rubbing the gel in too vigorously, so the last couple of days I’ve been a lot more cautious to leave it to dry on its own. Bit of a faff tbh. Maybe I’m a patch girl.

Wowzers @Dreamqueenthats bonkers about your DH. Do you think he knows really and suspects WLI but doesn’t want to say? Or is waiting for you to say? He could be oblivious. @Mounjaropen that’s hilarious about referring to yourself as white noise, I think that’s appropriate in our case too. Sometimes I literally ask him to repeat what I’ve just said because I’m sure it’s simply bounced off him. Perhaps he needs HRT too.

@LindtCurves that’s fab news about maintenance! How are you finding the 3 week gap? Do you find you’re more hungry towards the end of the 3 weeks?

Hair & Me have come back to say to stick where I am for now given my worries about side effects but also if I want to increase my dose of minoxidil I can do so as I’ve not had any side effects of note. I’ll have a think and review at the end of January. £36 a month is quite a lot to spend if my dose is so low it’s not really doing anything (pissing in the wind comes to mind 🤣).

Oushk have another offer on (for those of us who can’t seem to access the maintenance plan!) (including me) - Christmas Cheer Offer (ends 15 Dec)

Good morning friends in my phone!

Quick update from me: has been
Weight: still hovering around 133lbs which I’m happy with.

So Oushk is off my Xmas card list… had my video call to verify my weight yesterday before they’ll send my prescription that I paid for 2 weeks ago… the person at the other end needed to also verify my ID. Then asked me to send it in. I explained she’s just seen it. Surely plus I’d done this already to set up the account..”yes but it isn’t on file” I asked why this was my problem and could she maybe take a screenshot of my ID whilst we were on the phone to save me yet more sodding life admin. She reluctantly did this. Then I asked why it was so difficult to access the maintenance plan… she looked at the account and said ‘ah yes we’ve updated all of our processes so you’ll need to book a call for that’ so I asked if this was chargeable. Yes it is she said. So I said ‘but I’ve already done this and paid a fiver to you guys to join something you never actually added me to despite despite paying for the consultation last May/june. How can you recharge me again to access something I paid for previously and because you’ve changed your system that becomes an issue for the customer?’ She had no answer. I think I’ll be looking for an alternative maintenance supplier because this is not great customer service. Without MN frankly they’d have no business/a much smaller one given the word of mouth on here so I’m more than put out. Suggestions welcome!

off for a boozy lunch tomorrow with friends - they’re taking us out as a wedding present. No idea where we’re going but I shall be wearing my new burgundy sequinned dress 🥰 (hope it’s not Nando’s 😂)

It would’ve been my lovely Dad’s birthday today so I’ll be putting some flowers on his grave whilst making clear to my mother (they’re buried in the same plot) that they are not for her. Petty, but it makes me feel better. It’s such a shame that she wasn’t a great mother but I guess it made me a better one myself so I focus on the positives that has brought me. Plus, if she’s looking down she can she I’m thin now 😂

Have a lovely weekend everyone 😘

Happy Your Dad's Birthday, @Mounjaropen . I'm grateful I had an easier relationship with my mum than you did with yours, but weight and body image was the one area it always fell off the rails. She made an excellent lemon drizzle cake so I always toast her with some on her birthday and can almost hear the 'cake... with a figure like yours' from beyond the grave 🤦🏻‍♀️

Well done on the maintenance achievements! Unless Med express have changed their rules, I can’t order from them as my BMI is below 23. Does anyone know if they’re offering a maintenance program? DH is currently using them for his MJ journey and they are as efficient as they were when I was using them.

Regarding Christmas food season, I honestly struggle to find some of the Christmas food on offer anything other than a bit offputting. I was perusing the shelves in Tesco’s yesterday and I think I’ve reached the point where I’ve just prefer to make something myself so I know what’s in it. Obviously I’m not put off by the booze though 😂

Gosh, sorry to hear that you’ve been unwell! Do you think you’ve had this flu that’s going around? I’m gonna try and get flu jab this afternoon but it isn’t easy if you haven’t been called by the NHS or qualified for a free jab let me tell you!

I can’t believe your DH hasn’t noticed you’ve lost four stone! I bet he has, but like all men in a rock or a hard place if you mention it let alone say well done! 😂
