Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we hurtle towards Christmas proudly wearing Crimbo jumpers without fear of looking enormous, look for slinky party dresses on vinted and for the first time, willingly take part in ALL of the festive photos🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!
I’m on W55 D2 and on w6 (and final dose) of 3.75mg before moving onto 2.5mg.
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.8lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0)
We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🤗

Lovely to hear all the weekend plans! After feeling dreadful all week I started perking up yesterday, and not a moment too soon - I’m out with friends tonight so had been happily outfit planning before the lurgy got me. I’ve settled on black high waisted flares, a black sleeveless roll neck, pointed toe kitten heel boots (there shall be walking in the rain from place to place) and DRAMATIC EARRINGS.

Can’t quite believe I’m getting my upper arms out ON PURPOSE and it’s not even 30 degrees, but that’s the new skinny bitch way!

Fab to hear everyone’s fashion updates, too. @Mounjaropenthe cream skirt sounds great - and what a bargain! @Goldleafcat, it’s so good to hear how much you’re enjoying clothes again. I think looking forward to getting dressed is probably the single biggest NSV I’ve had from this whole journey. (Clothes are fun! Who knew?)

@PinkArt, congrats on the woosh but even more congrats on getting reacquainted with your “old” shape, you teeny-waisted thing, you!

@TheSlimmingPumpkin- the up & down is frustrating, I agree. It’s often as little as a cup of water making the difference though. I’m still holding pretty firm “around 63kg”, which today is 62.9 and at the start of the week nearer 64 due to salt and not enough non-wine fluids. It feels like a rollercoaster, but you’re doing amazingly. And I think we all know what you mean about that midway weight loss shopping - I suspect most of us didn’t really think we’d get this far.

@LindtCurvesI don’t think my health has been worse since I hit my 20 BMI. I’ve been ill this week, but it’s the first time all winter so I think I’ve got off lightly so far. Generally I’d say I’ve been healthier - better food, more regular & considered eating, better sleep - since this all started.

Outfit sounds fabulous! I think we need a pic of the dramatic earrings!

I know how you feel @Mounjaropen I have upped my exercise in hope of a whoosh especially given that I was so happy that I broke through into 9 stone 13lb last week. I seemed to have spent this week bouncing around 9 stone 13.5 and 9 stone 12.5 which is bloody annoying as back 9 stone 13 this morning.

Out this evening for yet another friend’s birthday celebration so food and booze. I like the Jeremy Pang dinner at Fortums - bet that will be delicious

I sold some unworn swimsuits on Vinted this week @Goldleafcat - new with tags and the hygiene strip still on. At size 16 they would be too loose when wet. £10 each as I just wanted them gone, each cost £36 last year from M&S magic slimming range, I should have thought a bit more carefully when purchasing them but I was so excited to have lost 4 stone.

Fingers crossed we each have a whoosh next week! 🤞🏻

Weighing in.

W66D7
SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:13st 1lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
3rd GW: 13st 9lbs
4th GW: 11st 4lbs
TL: 6st 08lb

The plateau passed and with a 4 pound woosh this week - woo hoo!
Despite my boobs deflating slower than the rest of me, they're noticably looking a bit lost in my bras now so I measured and I'm a 34DD, which is delightfully back into the land of Normal Bras.
I also noticed my legs looking long this week. They always have been but when they're also rather wide it's not so obvious. I'm finding rediscovering this body as fascinating as it is exciting. I didn't think my shape had changed that much as I'd got bigger, and it hadn't hugely, but I'd forgotten what seeing long legs and an hourglass waist felt like.

This is just fabulous news! Well done! 👏

My boobs are starting to re-inflate after starting taking creatine regularly- same for my bum. Most welcome - although the scales are saying a bigger number than I’d like…

Asking my little friendly corner of Mumsnet - my nice new black coat has arrived but I find it massive (seems to be a Scamp and Dude coat sizing issue in general in my opinion) - it’s meant to be oversized but I’m finding it too much. Gutted though as I do really like it and all the smaller sizes are sold out (I got the last 10). Am I being OTT and should I just embrace the oversized look? It’s not cheap though and if I’m not happy in it this would ultimately be a poor purchase I suppose.

https://scampanddude.com/collections/jackets/products/adults-puffer-coat-black

I’ve signed up to be notified if the 6 or 8 come into stock!

I'd return if it doesn't fit. I say that as someone who's just fitting a mid length leopard print coat that literally hasn't fitted for years since I bought it - I'm very do as I say, not as I do!
Keep an eye on Vinted as well as waiting for a restock email. Scamp and Dude sells really well on there so there's always stuff being listed.

Thank you this is very good advice. It would be perfect if I could find one on Vinted.

I do know what you mean, some of the clothes I’m only just wearing now I bought a few years ago - yesterday’s panto outing top was one I bought in Desigual Prague in December 2019 🤦‍♀️😅

DH has presented me this morning with a 6 Month Married anniversary card and present (beautiful Victoria Secret silk PJ’s - perfect for a Sunday at home and they were a size S!) I am so grateful. I am usually the thoughtful one in every relationship/friendship etc so I feel blessed to be treated for a change. I’ve had champagne at lunch so I am possibly overly emotional but on reflection, MJ has changed my life in so many ways…i think i project positivity more and as a result get the same back. 🥰

Ah I think I’ve seen that one. It’s almost identical but doesn’t have the pink on the front and at the top of the sleeves (I’m guessing potentially last year’s version?). I’m frustrated with myself for not getting it when there were more sizes available, but we live and learn!

How has it been 6 months already? You were just buying the shoes. This year is running by so fast.

Just had fancy dumplings for late lunch as a nod to lunar new year approaching. Delicious but barely made a dent. I really need to re-learn ordering for my new stomach.

Coat update

Because I am a sad being, despite signing up for updates, I’ve been regularly checking the website to see if anything comes into stock (only 18, 20 and 22). Over the past few days a 10 (no good, the size I have), 12, 14 and 16 have briefly appeared in stock (likely returns). No size 6 or 8. Nada. Nothing. Zilch. I think it must be a sign to get a life and move on. However, the trench coat I loved last year (which I ordered in a 10/12, and was also laughably voluminous) (had to send that back too, and no smaller sizes left then either) has suddenly appeared in a new colour way (new season). Gasp! But do I love it? I’m not sure yet. I seem to take a while to warm up to something. No doubt in the next week every man , dog and guinea pig will buy it.

I’m sure when I was bigger the problem was the other way around - only the teeny sizes left! That said, their coats are crazily oversized. Even when you read the descriptions on vinted most sellers are very honest about the sizing .

I need to find a new obsession 😅

(I must add this is an incredibly first world problem. I have much bigger and more important things to be worrying about in real life, instead I am merrily spending my time hunting down coats / jackets).

I’m still comfortably under 10 stone despite a bit of a foodie / wine weekend.

Loving the coat obsession 😂Good luck!

Glad you are comfortably under 10 stone - I'm too near the stone barrier for my own comfort so I've gone back to basics... Protein, low carb, no snacks, no booze during the week..but I do think that somewhere along the line the MJ is absolutely key for my insulin balancing because getting rid of the extra 6 or so pounds since August (when I was on my highest dose) I am finding really, really tough despite the amount of exercise/activity I am doing. And I want to rebuild my muscle mass with a lower MJ dose plus my creatine intake has meant I look less deflated... But it is also clear that MJ is the protagonist to my hair loss as I have reduced significantly my testosterone intake... So what do I want..luscious locks, lower weight or a less saggy body. oh and less farts. Creatine is just not great for that 😂

Possible NSV, I had an eye checkup and my prescription has lessened. Which I assumed was a step on the way from being short sighted to being long sighted, but the optician said weight loss can actually improve/change eyesight, so it may be that!

I also used to have IIH which is increased cranial pressure, just caused tinnitus for me but can have a range of unpleasant impacts for some people and even result in loss of sight. Optician was also able to confirm my optic disc now looks normal, which together with the tinnitus disappearing means I don't have IIH anymore. :)

3st loss here to just over BMI 25, seeing the health impact is awesome.

I do agree about the insulin balancing too - I feel like I may have to stay on it for life to maintain - time will tell when the time actually comes. I’m wondering if the tablets will be a more affordable (and lower / micro dose style) option in the future.

You’ve done so well, I love hearing about your updates and fabulous events! I’ve not really noticed the farty issue with creatine but I am still on the higher doses of MJ so it may be counteracting!

I know it’s not for everyone but I do think starting minoxidil has saved my hair. If you want a referral code etc let me know. I’m about to brave moving from 0.5 to 1.25 so can keep you all updated. All good so far.

This is incredible! Honestly despite the Evil Eye Willy stuff this stuff is magic.

My DS is at risk of increased cranial pressure (craniosynostosis, greatly reduced now because of the surgery last year). So so pleased for you.

I’m on the maintenance dose, that’s my issue (2.5mg) so we’ll have to see. I don’t think I’m brave enough to go for minoxidil right now but if I need a referral code I’ll be PM’ing you, thank you. I’m trying to reduce meds in favour of nutrition, but I’m prepared to consider it….good luck on the higher doses.! Obviously I had a boozy weekend and then a boozy lunar new year fancy dinner so it might just be that working its way out of my system. I don’t feel fat, my clothes aren’t tight so that’s good.

In other news after reading IK’s column in the times on Sunday I bought the Murad Retinal resculpt body treatment. It was £60 on QVC (£29 less than the RRP) It is very spendy and I’m deffo not a fan of hers due to her DH situation but she was right about the snail mucin and has obviously gets sent free shit which she can write about if she chooses.. plus she’s obviously been on the pen so probably has the same saggy skin we all have so having given everything else a go to no avail, I’m in. will keep you all posted.

NSV - 2 years ago when I was at the optician for eye check , because of the amount of fat/bust in the way, I really struggled to get my chin on the resting plate for optician to examine my eyes.
This time, so much easier and much more comfortable. 🤓

Last week, I had 4 examples at work where clients didn’t recognise me. Let’s say I’m called Gill.

client 1 said to colleague that I was working next to, “Where is Gill? I can hear her but I can’t see her.”
client 2 said to colleague “Is that a new girl you have got working today”
client 3 said to colleague “ Is Gill not in today” when I was in clear view of her.
I said good morning to client 4 and she said to me “OMG Gill, I didn’t recognise you, it was only when you spoke , I recognised your voice.”

It’s really bizarre as I don’t actually think I have changed that much.
My brain needs to catch up, as well as my skin. 🤣

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 12/02/2026 08:46

Morning all!

@lovealongbath, that happened to me just before Christmas. I went out to a different office to meet a colleague I hadn’t seen in person for a couple of years. I walked up to her and said hello, and she gave me a really weird look and sort of blanked me. I started talking about the meeting we were supposed to be having and she suddenly went oh goodness, it’s you! I didn’t recognise you! I confessed I was on the jabs.

@Oceangrey, fantastic NSV! That’s great news.

@PinkArt wooohoo for 4lbs in a week! And 11 inches off your waist is incredible.

I took my last jab on 27 Jan, and can report that my weight is staying steady so far, with normal fluctuations up and down after big/salty meals. I probably haven’t cleared all the MJ from my system yet though - I’ve read it takes 2-3 weeks. No excessive hunger yet, and I’ve stuck to my 2 meals a day without mishap (plus wine and the odd yoghurt/biscuit after dinner). Have been doing Caroline Girvan videos to build muscle. Fingers crossed it all stays manageable. I’m hoping for hair-based benefits of coming off!

Mounjaropen · 03/02/2026 10:19

Welcome back! Keep going 💪

As a tip, get a 5mg pen and take half/3/4 doses from it - it’s more cost effective. My pens are lasting for 9-10doses which is way cheaper than buying the 2.5mg doses. As long as you’re fine with extending it beyond the manufacturer recommendation and are able to keep it refrigerated.

Ohhh! Interesting! Thank you! I never managed to get the golden dose out. I have always assumed the pen had 4 turns. How does it work to get more out? I struggle to stay on MJ because it makes me so lightheaded (and I lose tons of hair), but I would like to get myself back down to me happy place, and a cheaper way of doing it would be amazing!
