Ooh, recipes! I'm about to bake these. I used to bake them a lot and I totally forgot about them, but found the printed out recipe whilst having a cupboard clear out at the weekend. I normally substitute Agave for the sugar, and sometimes do half mashed cherries/half banana and add slivered almonds for a Bakewell type taste profile. Tonight I might just add some dried fruit. They are foolproof.

Banana Yoghurt Muffins
Yields 12
A healthy, low fat, low sugar, wholegrain banana muffin. Moist, light and tasty.
Ingredients
100g oats
30g brown sugar
2 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
100g natural yoghurt
2 bananas
Instructions
Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 5 and prepare the muffin tin.
Place the oats in a food processor and blitz to make a rough flour.
Add the sugar, baking powder and mix.
Next add the eggs, yoghurt and mashed banana and mix.
Place into muffin cases and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Ooh fab, thank you! If you replace the sugar with agave, do you do the same weight in syrup as sugar?

I kind of wing it but it's usually between 15 and 20g (between half and 2/3 the sugar amount) for syrup. If it looks a little runny I'll add a bit more oats

Thanks for the recipe, I'll give it a go. I have tins of black beans and my son has declared he hates them, so although I've had some success with a bean version of hummus this could be a good alternative.

Have you tried Rukmini Iyers black bean, squash, sweetcorn feta traybake? It’s a hit in our family who would never have tried black beans otherwise. It’s also great with pork steaks added to the tray. I parboil the corn first.

Chipotle Roasted Sweetcorn with Squash, Black Beans, Feta and Lime

Rukmini Iyer's Mexican-inspired chipotle sweetcorn, roasted with squash and black beans and topped with feta cheese and coriander, is a real taste of summer. This flavour-packed one-pan dish is easy to make, ideal for a busy weeknight.

Well, long as we’re talking recipes - lately I’ve been having one of these as a pudding in the evening, they feel FAR more indulgent than they are:

Dark Choc-Dipped Stuffed Dates

15 or so Medjool dates
Natural peanut butter (crunchy, smooth, whatever)
200g 70% dark chocolate
Malden sea salt

De-stone dates and stuff with a scant tsp of peanut butter. Pop into the fridge to chill.

Chop & melt dark choc in the microwave or double boiler. Dip the dates in and thoroughly coat, then lift out and place on a parchment-lined plate or tray. Sprinkle over a little Malden sea salt.

Pop back into the fridge to set and take one out whenever you feel like you want something indulgent!

Morning Team Skinny! Well, I'm not sure if it was the steak after all now as I had quite the evening parked in the bathroom. Finally stopped being sick at 10pm and managed to get a half decent night sleep thank goodness. Silver lining, I'm at my lowest weight! Whether it was mounjaro related or not, I'll never know but was very unexpected after all this time. I shall be slowly sipping electrolytes in the corner and tentatively researching family holidays if anyone needs me! Has anyone booked anywhere fabulous for this year yet?

Edited

goodness! Do you think you caught a bug maybe?

I’ve booked a new hotel in Crete (never been) for this year. Last year we went to a very random Greek island which I loved, but it did involve literally planes, trains and automobiles (plus boats) to get there and DH this year wanted to spend less time travelling (fair enough) it has a spa, fitness centre and excellent food (all musts for us) and our room has a private pool which we also prefer. Think the place has less than 30 rooms in total which means it’ll feel quite intimate. This week I’m gonna be researching local restaurants/vineyards etc to have a visit of whilst we’re there.

Where are you thinking of going to?

Oh dear, @SerenePeer, that sounds unpleasant. Congrats on the lowest ever weight, though! I am eyeing up holidays, then kitchens, then holidays, then kitchens. Was looking at a villa in Cyprus with Jet2 in April, £1600 for the 4 of us - am thinking very very cheap holiday and then focus money on kitchen? https://www.jet2holidays.com/villas/search/details?property=86865&date=15-04-2026&duration=7&occupancy=r2c14_11&airport=9&board=4&oflight=1318655&iflight=1318658&rooms=102765&gtmsearchtype=Villas%20Search%20Results

Meant to say welcome @onlyhereforthechaletschool and I love the user name!

Looks lovely! I’d agree on the holiday/kitchen priority.

what kitchens are you looking at?( Love a kitchen chat…!)

Great recipe ideas.

I do a lot of googling of Healthy Oat Cookies type stuff so the banana oat muffins work well for me.

If anyone wants a kitchen recommendation I recently had one made bespoke by someone and it's so beautiful. They are in Kent but I'm in London so if that's of any help let me know and I can give you their details. It's in frame with amazing carpentry and not expensive at all. Well more expensive than IKEA but not more than other kitchen companies.

RayonSunrise · 03/02/2026 23:16

I’m interested @Oceangrey- I am slowly getting round to planning my kitchen project!

Goldleafcat · 04/02/2026 07:53

Good morning friends!

Well I’ve done it - I’ve made it to 10 stone 0lbs exactly! This is back to my 1994 weight (yes, I’ve been weighing myself and worrying about my weight since I was 13, probably 12). It also means I’ve lost 6 and a half stone since starting MJ (and at least 9 and half stone since my heaviest ever weight).

Recap:
SW: 16 stone 7 lbs
1st GW: 11 stone ish
2nd GW: 10 stone 7 lbs
3rd GW: 10 stone exactly
CW: 10 stone exactly

My ‘intention’ (much better than resolution, thank you @Mounjaropen) for 2026 is to get below 10 stone and to maintain it. My plan is to shift more body fat whilst on a deficit, and then over time build back up with muscle (whilst eating a bit more to make it realistically happen).

Thanks again to this wonderful and amazing group, so supportive and non judgemental, led by our incredible cheerleader @Mounjaropen) It’s really helped to keep me going on this journey.

I’ve loved the style and beauty chats too!
(I do venture to style and beauty, but too scared to ever make my own thread on there in case it gets derailed) ( Emma Bunton’s blouse anyone? 😅)

Goldleafcat · 04/02/2026 07:54

Ooh and my scales have ever so kindly graced me with an age 1 year younger than I actually am! Better than this time last year when they declared me as 6 years older than my real age 😕🤣

How fantastic! 🙌🥳

So happy for you. Now place 13 year old worried you in a box and embrace yourself as a thin person. because you are now 😉You know what to do to maintain this and you’ve got this moving forward 💪🏻

I’m definitely in my muscle gaining phase which means the number on my scales is higher than I’d like.. but inch monitoring keeps me on the straight and narrow so keep and eye on that. Plus how your new clothes feel.

I’m in Scotland so probably wouldn’t work - sounds brilliant, though! I’m actually looking at the IKEA Forsbacka kitchen as the cheap option, and the Magnet Nordic Oak one as the more expensive. Naturally I like the most expensive option in each shop! But we need a builder to knock out the chimney breast first, and our building warrant hasn’t been approved yet.

Funny you say that, I’ve been reviewing my wardrobe again and so much stuff is suddenly too big again! I need to have another sort out and a bit of a re-stock. Scanning vinted and have found a few bits but may have to brave the high street (albeit online) to get some essentials (I say essentials….).

Hope you feel better soon. I’m starting with a chesty cough. DH and DC have had it, amazed I lasted this long to be honest!

These are lovely. I’ve fitted a lot of ikea kitchens in renovations- they do have the advantage of specialist front firms who can supply some interesting designs if you didn’t want to go with their finishes. Plus they do have a 25yr guarantee (and unlikely to go bust!)

Well, I’d always been in denial about wine calories but I’ve weighed myself again this morning and somehow I’m 9 stone 13.2 - 0.8 off in a day. This rapid weight loss happened last week when I was off the wine too - could be water retention finally clearing off too but I am wondering! I wasn’t sinking two bottles a night or anything but wondering how much those relaxing large glasses have been costing me in the lbs department!

I shall report back!

💯 cutting out wine during the week makes a massive difference for me…I’m more likely to exercise, sleep better (if the bloody dog allows me to) better mood etc. it isn’t just the calories, it is the other effects which have a cumulative effect. I have to remind myself of this as frankly wine is bloody delicious 😂Keep going! 💪
