I’m jumping on here as I restarted in November. I’d been prescribed MJ for diabetes and never went above 5mg. As a byproduct I lost 20kg. After one year my gp withdrew the medication on grounds of cost. I saw the weight creeping back on and as I was till technically obese with bmi of just over 30 I decided to self fund to try and shift the last stone I wanted to shift (I’d still be overweight but I’d be happy with that). So I restarted end of November, was warned I’d see minimal loss on lower doses as my body was used to 5mg but had to start back at the beginning. Only lost about 2kg over the first 8 weeks. 2 weeks ago went up to 7.5mg. Week one was ok, this last week I’ve been running to the loo far more than I’d like. Up in the night, having to leave meetings to go etc. I vaguely recall my second week on 5mg was a milder version of that but it was 15 months ago! So is it likely to get better? I thought it had settled Friday but yesterday it was back. Pharmacist had advised of side effects were too much I could do 40 clicks and inject 5mg. I’m due to inject tomorrow. What would you do? I’m down 2kg this week but that’s because I’ve been scared to eat half the time.

Hello and welcome to our wee MJ corner

i have micro dosed for 63 weeks and have now reached 5mg.
At one point i came out in a rash and dropped my clicks for 2 weeks for rash to disappear then I upped the dosage minimally.

If it was me, I would reduce clicks for your body to adapt.

Morning! Dropped off the thread again for a couple of weeks so catching up. Well done everyone on your progress.

I've been hovering around the same lowest weight since about October BUT the daily fluctuations aren't going up as high as they were, and I'm really noticing I fit into smaller clothes even though there's been little change on the scales.

My back injury is finally better and I went to a local boxing gym to give that a go, super fun and managed to get back into a 32H sports bra (max was a 36JJ). Great workout and felt good mentally too.

Started selling my bigger stuff on eBay and Vinted, which is satisfying. I'm keeping a few of the 'hero' items just in case, but most is going. Expensive brands I'm selling and everything else to the charity shop. I don't feel it's worth it unless I'm getting about £12+.

Welcome back!

One of the articles I read last week about changing mindset post weight loss is to get rid of bigger clothes else you are setting yourself up to believing you’ll fail, so getting shot of your large clothes is a great idea.

Well done on the boxing class!

DH and I just did our first private lesson learning the Argentinian Tango 🕺 💃

Oh bless you and welcome!

I’d either split the dose over two injections over the week (you might need to order extra extraction needles/syringes etc) or just move down to the 5mg dose. Are you drinking enough water? How is your fibre and protein intake? Are you moving enough to maintain once you wean off again?

Not sure it is enough water … I only drink water and Diet Coke … I limit myself to a max of 3 cokes a day (ideally less!) and they’re all in work. So water in the morning and evening at home. I do try though! I’m hoping I can wean off and manage … I’ve done it before (lost about 5 stone when first diagnosed with diabetes 14 years ago … kept most of it off until 2020 when a combination of being at home all day during the pandemic and stress eating meant I put quite a bit back on. I’m now close to where I got to in 2013, and lower than I was in 2019 so I’m hopefull I can manage it … when I say I noticed the weight creeping on I mean about 3lbs, but it was enough to prompt me to do something … I’d crept into bad habits. So this is supposed to reset my sensible eating habits - bit being scared to eat isn’t resetting anything sensibly!!

Oh boy. I have the dreaded sulphur burps for the first time in over a year! Had steak on Saturday night which blocked the system a bit, but nothing else unusual 🤢Jabbed Sunday morning as per my usual routine.

Actually, I had a coffee this morning when I usually stick to tea....never used to give me sulphur burps though?

It'll be the red meat as it likely had a higher fat content than normal? Hope they subside soon!

TMI but I have dreadful wind at the moment 😮 which I think might be the creatine supplements maybe? Anyone else notice that?

Oooh actually, now you mention it I had terrible wind last week after restating my creatine!

Urgh. No dinner for me tonight then until this steak is fully out of my system 🤢 Think I'll skip pilates too just in case...

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 02/02/2026 16:31

since starting MJ I have to be careful when ordering coffees in cafes. I tend to avoid lattes now and try to remember to ask for semi or skimmed if available and absolutely no syrup stuff. More often than not I will opt for a herbal tea. If eating out where possible I will avoid stuff that is deep fried - just in case and I avoid anything with a lot of cream. On Saturday I just opted the lowest calorie options I could find with sauces on the side.

In other news, as part of Operation Shift It, I went swimming this morning. So along with running (plodding) x 2, Pilates x 2 I am adding in swimming x 2.

its funny now my Buddha belly has gone I am aware of my belly rolls if that make sense. I definitely have at least half a stone there and top of thighs because there is no real fat anywhere now.

Goldleafcat · 02/02/2026 19:05

I definitely found if I ate fattier foods it caused issues, although I do seem to have become more tolerant over time (eg fish and chips is now fine, in moderation, and crispy duck skin, which used to be the horror toilet surprise at 4am!).

I’m taking creatine most days but not noticed an issue windy-wise - I take between 5g and 7g though - how much are people taking?

Oceangrey · 02/02/2026 22:04

Weirdly I could eat a dinner of deep fried steak topped with clotted cream and suffer no ill effects while on Mounjaro. Not sure it's a good thing really! But v thankful I can still drink coffee.

PinkArt · 02/02/2026 22:14

Skinny hive mind, are there any sellers who you can select a delivery day with? I've just started a new contract and I've got three back to back days in the office. With Medexpress it's hit and miss how long prescribing takes and when it'll actually send, which is an arse of it was out for delivery on the first of those days.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 02/02/2026 23:55

Oushk let you set a delivery date and that seems to work well for me

random223 · 03/02/2026 04:20

Morning all,

We haven’t had any recipe chats for a while, so here we go!

I made these yesterday..bloody delicious although the cooking time is probably nearer to 25mins rather than 20. I replaced the blackberries with raspberries as that was what I had to hand in the fridge. No refined carbs and no refined sugar. I sliced them into 20 pieces rather than 16 and they are extremely filling. As it’s just DH and I at the moment, I’ll probably freeze the rest.

Ginger and berry black bean brownies

Serves 16
Ingredients
• 110g crystallised ginger
• 100g dark chocolate, 70 per cent cocoa solids
• 90g rolled oats
• Large pinch of sea salt
• 45g cocoa powder
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 400g can black beans
• 240ml plant-based milk
• 5 tbsp coconut oil, plus extra for greasing
• 100g maple (or agave) syrup
• 1 tbsp vanilla extract
• 75g blackberries
Method
1. Line the base of a 20cm square brownie tin with baking paper and grease the sides. Preheat the oven to 180C fan/gas 6.
2. Finely chop the crystallised ginger. Roughly chop the chocolate. Add the oats to a blender and blitz to a powder. Tip the blitzed oats into a large mixing bowl.
3. Sift the salt, cocoa powder and baking powder into the bowl with the blitzed oats. Add in two thirds of the crystallised ginger and all the chocolate, and mix together.
4. Drain the black beans, rinse under cold running water, then drain again. Put the black beans, plant-based milk, coconut oil, syrup and vanilla extract into a blender and blend to a smooth, runny consistency.
5. Add the blended black bean mixture to the oat mixture in the bowl and stir with a wooden spoon until well combined. Gently tip the brownie mixture into the prepared brownie tin, spread out evenly and scatter over the remaining ginger. Gently press the blackberries evenly over the top.
6. Cook in the preheated oven for 20 min, until just set but still a little gooey in the middle. Leave to cool before cutting into squares.

Using weight-loss jabs? Watch out for gallstones

Last year there was a significant increase in the number of people in the UK undergoing gallbladder surgery — who is most at risk and what can you do?

I’m taking H&B creatine monohydrate capsules ( I read an article at the end of last year about the negative effect of creatine on teeth enamel so I’ve avoided dry scoops and gone for capsules) which amounts to 4.2g per day but I only take this dose on work out days.

I’m going to avoid taking them too early before my workouts today as I’m going to my Lagree class where I’m on the machine next to the instructor.. so i don’t want to be parping ! 😂

Morning Team Skinny! Well, I'm not sure if it was the steak after all now as I had quite the evening parked in the bathroom. Finally stopped being sick at 10pm and managed to get a half decent night sleep thank goodness. Silver lining, I'm at my lowest weight! Whether it was mounjaro related or not, I'll never know but was very unexpected after all this time. I shall be slowly sipping electrolytes in the corner and tentatively researching family holidays if anyone needs me! Has anyone booked anywhere fabulous for this year yet?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 03/02/2026 08:35

Sorry, that one’s £1800 not £1600. Have just sent off passports for renewal so don’t want to book until they come back, though, so prices might change a bit.

Dear lovely ladies, so glad to see you all here! I have had a terrible few months and my weight flew over 10 st again, having been settled at 9.7. I was worrying about Ouskh (can’t spell it) refusing to let me have a 2.5 pen but I eventually asked and I started my pen on Saturday.. I’m hoping I can just reverse the trend. I wouldn’t mind staying on it except that I lose so much hair and it makes my blood pressure stupidly low. However I love skinny me.

Hope you all are doing excellently!!!

As a tip, get a 5mg pen and take half/3/4 doses from it - it’s more cost effective. My pens are lasting for 9-10doses which is way cheaper than buying the 2.5mg doses. As long as you’re fine with extending it beyond the manufacturer recommendation and are able to keep it refrigerated.

Thanks for the recipe, I'll give it a go. I have tins of black beans and my son has declared he hates them, so although I've had some success with a bean version of hummus this could be a good alternative.

BlueWalker · 03/02/2026 18:39

Ooh, recipes! I'm about to bake these. I used to bake them a lot and I totally forgot about them, but found the printed out recipe whilst having a cupboard clear out at the weekend. I normally substitute Agave for the sugar, and sometimes do half mashed cherries/half banana and add slivered almonds for a Bakewell type taste profile. Tonight I might just add some dried fruit. They are foolproof.

Banana Yoghurt Muffins
Yields 12
A healthy, low fat, low sugar, wholegrain banana muffin. Moist, light and tasty.
Ingredients
100g oats
30g brown sugar
2 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
100g natural yoghurt
2 bananas
Instructions
Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 5 and prepare the muffin tin.
Place the oats in a food processor and blitz to make a rough flour.
Add the sugar, baking powder and mix.
Next add the eggs, yoghurt and mashed banana and mix.
Place into muffin cases and bake for 15-20 minutes.
