Glad it’s not just me with the weird hair. Not that I’m wishing weird hair on anyone.

Good evening friends in my phone…!

Thought I was getting fit with my Pvolve, so I’d have a go at St Jennifer of Anniston’s other fitness secret..Lagree. Like reformer Pilates on steroids. On a machine called a mega former. Dear God I was humbled 😂The shakes! my bum started vibrating independently from the rest of my body like I had no control over it …. I felt sorry for the person behind me having to watch it 🤣 I’m not hopeful for my ability to be able to walk tomorrow tbh.

Honestly if Jen jumped off a cliff I’d probably follow her 😂

I’m hoping to start reformer Pilates but prob should get a bit fitter first.
I can imagine me seizing up!

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 22/01/2026 16:17

I am now back swimming. So Pilates (once Mat and one Barre) twice a week, running twice a week and now adding a swim session. As my weight has fallen my fitness levels have taken off and hopefully my wobbly bits will not be as wobbly once I have toned up. I am fitter now than I was in my early 40s 💪🏻

Not sure about a Mega Former as I haven’t done Reformer yet. I am always worried that I will fall off the kit 😂

My friend had a catastrophic arm injury caused by someone falling off their reformer and taking her out off hers…so you are right to be cautious! I only had the confidence to go to Lagree after a year and a bit of consistent Pvolving and even then I found it really hard. Keep going with your activity levels - an amazing achievement to be fitter now than in your forties isn’t it?

You just need to really have great core strength- concentrate on that first. 💪🏻

I stupidly tried on my wedding dress and sent a photo to Dh and my eldest Dd. Got married 24 years ago when my Dd was 4 months old. My dress wouldn’t fit me for years but it was even a little big today. Expected some sort of wow from Dh. He hearted it and then went on about his back still being sore. I’m pissed off.
Last week when I was saying I needed new clothes he said don’t go mad until you tone up!

Thank god my Dd is a bit more complimentary. But he’s rightly annoyed me.

Oh that is a dispiriting response from your DH. Congratulations on getting back into the dress - amazing!

Honestly don’t feel you need to tone up first. I started it in February (at 15 ish stone) and despite now being just over 10 stone, I’m still flabtastic. If I waited till I tone up I think I’ll be dead before I start anything. And the reformer is the exact thing that will help with that. I’m still quite rubbish at it but my balance and core strength has improved loads since starting and the beauty of reformer (if you have a good instructor) is that it is flexible in the different levels of expertise and you can rest when you need to. Don’t wait, just do it 😍

I fell once - into the springs. I had a nasty bruise for about a week but then all good 🙄😅

Well done on all the exercise that’s awesome! I love your hair topper too - gorgeous colour and it looks 100% natural.

I’ve had regrowth since starting minoxidil (it’s rescued my eyebrows which were in a hell of a state!) but I think to see even more improvement I may need to increase my dose. I can be the guinea pig for us all 🐹

FML a one pound gain?! That's just rude. Right, onwards and downwards for the coming week, but after I've belatedly got my free birthday bakery item from Gails!

RayonSunrise · 23/01/2026 12:11

@PinkArt 1lb is probably water retention! Go drink loads and eat a bunch of fibre, it will go. 😁

And happy birthday! 🎉

RayonSunrise · 23/01/2026 12:13

@flametrees I’m sure you look amazing in your wedding dress! Congrats on all your progress.

RayonSunrise · 23/01/2026 12:15

@lovealongbath Your hair colour is gorgeous - love that shade of auburn. And the topper is very natural! How easy is it to put on/style?

Friday fashion interlude!

Anyone else watching Traitors? I’m obsessed with Claudia’s clothes, despite being a very different shape & colouring. I am now following her stylist on Insta and drooling all over all those small British heritage & niche brands.

Now I want some black & white penny loafers, and tan brogues, and stompy flat knee boots, and fingerless gloves, and a goddamned CAPE.

Love The Traitors! Sinead McKeefry is a fantastic stylist. CW was a fellow parent at one of the DC schools, she is very low key and lovely.

I dug a cape and a caped dress out from the back of the wardrobe this time last year and wore them on a weekend break to Loch Lomond.. I felt very Traitor-y 🤣

I agree. Just do it is my new mantra. It does help if your core is not a massive wobbly jelly like mine was in before times though!

Well that behaviour and lack of encouragement deserves at least one new outfit @flametrees - gone on, buy something gorgeous with zero guilt!

Help skinny stylish women in my phone! I've only just realised I need a dress for a function in early Feb 😱 It's a dinner at a conference being held at the Hilton in Paddington...dress code is annoyingly vague 'dress to be yourself/night out' wtf?! I feel like sequins would be too much? Thinking I'll just hire something from HURR - what does one wear to a do in February? Help please! I reckon im now a size 10 as the Queens of Archive dress i rented in a medium/size 12 back in early December was a tad on the big size....what style should I go for? (Long legs, droopy norks, upper arms toning up nicely but still a bit self-consciuous of the bingo wings)

Very easy, it clips in.

With heat I changed to a side parting , and had it cut to blend into my layers.

I dont watch the traitors but am utterly obsessed with CW! Have bought chunky black leather boots to wear with leggings, a flouncy blouse and a black tuxedo jacket 👌
