Morning all, checking in!

SW: 93kg
CW (maintaining): 63.7kg
Ideal weight: 63kg

Still going up & down with water weight - joys of maintenance! But I figure that being up or down 3bs (which is around a kilogram) is not so bad.

I’ve ordered a further 5mg pen today and my plan is to go down to 2.5 after this one. Then we’ll see, I guess.

Just remember zara sizing is WILD 😂 don’t get put off!

I’ve fallen off the shopping wagon… I had too much wine yesterday so ended up buying workout gear from the peloton website (membership gets you an additional discount) but tbf, 2+pairs of leggings and 3 t shirts came in at under £80 and the quality/washability is excellent. They’re also the items of clothing I wear the most all week.

i also bought a Roksanda dress (NWT) for my bestie’s wedding (size 8! 🤞🏻) on vinted but after my balance was taken into account plus authentication it cost me £100 - which is excellent value for a dress originally costing a grand. I’ve also for the first time made a bid on a pair of Prada heels to go with the dress which are not new but if my offer is accepted would also be a bargain. Fate will decide if they are for me…

Enjoy your day out in Manchester!

Ooh the new dress sounds like a bargain! I’ve not heard of that brand (unsurprising; I’ve been living under a fashion rock for quite some time) but have just taken a look online and they have some fabulous stuff! Might start keeping an eye out for it on vinted too.

Thank you! I used to be there every weekday before Covid (in before times) but it’s rarer now so I’m hoping to enjoy the change of scenery (and run the gauntlet of Market Street 🫣)

Another one in the freezing hands and feet camp here. I've got chilblains 😞

Also....... I 'may' have just purchased my first bikini in over 30 years...... and I'm totally blaming you lot! 😜👙

Yay to bikinis! Although the thought of baring that much skin when I'm this cold has me reaching for the heated blanket!

I can’t see me ever being completely off mj. I feel this is going to be my future.
I can’t bear the thought of going back to where I was and I tried so many times over the years unsuccessfully on my own.
having posted here I’ve been eating a lot better. Put on a pound and hoping to get to and stay at 9 stone.

Having cordial in my water to try force myself to increase the fluids.

Does anyone else really struggle with fluid? I have to force myself to drink water.

Before Christmas I was so good with my water....another habit that I let slide annoyingly! Slowly getting back into it now and following @Mounjaropen advice to prioritise water before anything else. I've started taking a pint of water to bed too and it's shocked me how often I wake up thirsty!

Well done staying roughly the same.💪

As a money saving tip (and assuming you are comfortable using a refrigerated pen for more than 4 weeks) don’t buy a 2.5mg pen, take 1/2 doses from a 5mg one instead. Including the bonus dose I’ve stretched mine to give me 10 doses (8 plus 2 from the bonus amount). They are roughly the same price and if you need to go up to 3.75 or 5 you can without issue.

I actually thought of it after watching Landman on paramount and Demi Moore was wearing a gorgeous cape dress by her.. had a quick look at Vinted and got myself a lovely dress! Less fabulous, but I won’t need a coat as unfortunately I don’t live in Dallas 😂

Morning everyone

November 24, I had long naturally curly, bouncy hair.
I would guess 3 months later, my hair started to thin.

I have religiously used Nioxin treatment as I am not a fan of minoxidil. Taken vitamins and 20g of collagen daily.

My hair was a straggly mess and in order for it to be in some sort of style, I have gradually gone shorter and shorter and have now got a short graduated bob.

New hair is growing in, but it’s crazy whisp.

Because my hair is so thin on the top but thick at the sides and back, Everytime I looked in the mirror, I could see my scalp on the top and I looked like I was wearing a 🤡 wig.

So, talking of wigs, I have bought myself a real hair toupee, now known as a topper. I have just had it cut to blend in with my own hair and I have to say, it looks amazing. I am loving it.

Oooh, where did you get it from? Have so far bought a) a halo extension, b) two small side hair clips and c) minoxidil. Haven’t ventured out in the halo extension yet. I have literally just taken the first dose of minoxidil and then read all the potential side effects including build up of fluid around the heart. Now I’m panicking. Why would they dish out a drug that can affect your heart so easily? Not sure I’ll take any more.

I started to follow Amanda the hair and now on FB.She actively promotes a company called JB Extension and this is where I got it from. It is real hair, it feels so smooth and can be washed and styled. Because I have a sassy wee bob, I have cut a fair bit off in order for it to blend in with my hair. It honestly looks amazing and you would never know it wasn’t my hair. It was £54 with discount code.

Ooh that sounds like a genius idea! Mine is wispy on the sides/length but not on top... Hoping that as I titrate right down/off things will restore themselves as they have with my digestive system (welcome back deeply satisfying poos! 😂). I’m tracking my macros/nutrients carefully and easily achieving 30 different plants/veg/fruit per week. The collagen that this time last year I was sceptical of has definitely helped but I’m not suffering as much as some so I am grateful.

How is your friend doing?

Is there a thread on Minoxidil you can follow? Most drugs have some serious side effects that have to be listed but you might not necessarily be affected? I hope you find the solution that works for you.

I had the same reaction as you! When I read the minoxidil leaflet I was like WTF! And frustrated because I only opted for the pill because in the questionnaire when it asked if I’d find it easier to take a tablet at night or use drops, I wasn’t 100% sure but suggested a tablet. They need to be clearer about the associated risks up front.

Anyway, after my initial consternation and reading around (there are some helpful threads on Reddit) I calmed down slightly. It seems the oral version is the most effective. I decided to stick with it - I started last June so it’s been six+ months now. There is an alarming shedding stage around 4 weeks in but to be honest my hair loss was already alarming me so didn’t seem much different! After this (realistically I would say at least 3 months in) I realised I wasn’t losing loads of hair anymore and everything was settling down.

It’s been loads better. I’ve stuck on the absolute lowest dose at 0.5, so I’ve not experienced the sudden growth of a beard or other random yeti like phenomenon. No other side effects either. Hair & Me did check in with me (I had to complete a form with Freeform fields around the 6 month mark, December) and at the time I explained how I had gotten on and that I felt maybe I should stay at 0.5 because I was worried about potential side effects. They’ve kept me on that for now but said I can move up a dose if I want to as I’ve been fine on. I’ve been reflecting and I think I probably am ready to brave it (especially as the discounted phase has ended so I’m paying £35 a month for a very low dose!).

From what I’ve read a lot of people are on 2.4 so I’m thinking if I move to the next one up (think 1.25?) that’ll suit me long term.

Thanks @Goldleafcat, that does help! Is your hair growing back? Mine is thin on top but I’m not shedding much in the shower any more. There are short wispy bits at the temples, so it is growing back in places, but it doesn’t seem to be thickening on top (harder to tell). I went for the tablet version because I have cats and dogs who like to sleep on the bed and the topical version is toxic to pets. There are much scarier side effects with minoxidil than with Mounjaro, which seems disproportionate! I suppose though they would not dispense it willy-nilly if they thought it was high risk. I bought the first batch in October and have been dithering ever since, only to realise after finally trying it last night that the use-by date is 16 Jan! I already have the second month’s supply so might just ditch the first one. FFS, it’s so complicated!

RayonSunrise · 20/01/2026 09:03

I wonder if there’s a correlation between MJ dose and hair loss, or if it’s just down to the calorie restriction that MJ allows?

My peak hair loss coincided with me going up to 7.5 and then (briefly) to 10, and started tailing off when I went back down to 7.5 and increased my calories. I’d been fasting from 8pm to noon, so when I decided to reintroduce breakfast when I went back to 7.5 my hair seemed to appreciate it. I don’t know if it was the lower dose, the calories, or the collagen I also started that made the difference though!

I have loads of wispy baby hair at different lengths all over my head now though. I still kind of think a couple of side piece extensions might be a good idea for when I’m going out though. Very interested to see the hair extension reccs.

Dreamqueen · 20/01/2026 15:24

Hello from India. I had major hair loss for months 6-12 but since going on loose maintenance it’s gone back to normal. I was really worried. I took biotin supplements and hair and nail gummies. Now I’ve got normal hair and loads of regrowth.
im on an extended trip abroad and have bought a digital scale from amazon India because I could feel weight piling back on. Happy to say it’s only 4lbs and now I know what it is I can sorry that out by more vigilance. I was suffering from post Christmas indulgence but have tried to knock that on the head. Great advice on her to me about concentrating on protein and striping drinks from @Mounjaropen has helped because I’d gone out of control. Still jabbing 7.5 as I realise that now is not the time to reduce.
off to read the many posts and catch up. January is a hard month so be kind to yourself and celebrate that we’ve all come so far. I couldn’t have done it without this thread. It’s the most supportive thread that I’ve seen on here. I don’t post on any other one. Thank you 🙏 all. I might have had a few cocktails while writing this so excuse me.

flametrees · 20/01/2026 22:06

My hair texture has changed loads. It’s much harder to style and I have a halo of baby hairs.

Good evening friends in my phone…!

Thought I was getting fit with my Pvolve, so I’d have a go at St Jennifer of Anniston’s other fitness secret..Lagree. Like reformer Pilates on steroids. On a machine called a mega former. Dear God I was humbled 😂The shakes! my bum started vibrating independently from the rest of my body like I had no control over it …. I felt sorry for the person behind me having to watch it 🤣 I’m not hopeful for my ability to be able to walk tomorrow tbh.

Honestly if Jen jumped off a cliff I’d probably follow her 😂

Oh wow, that sounds positively medieval! I have to imagine it’s quite a specialist activity to track down, too. (I may be Googling it right now…)

I did a garden variety HIIT yesterday with loads of squats & lunges and was feeling quite sorry for myself until I read your post. 🤣

Oh it’s interesting that the texture has changed as well. I have definitely noticed some styling challenges, but I’ve been thinking it’s the halo of baby hair in different lengths making my hair drying & styling feel quite “different.” Reminds me of when I had babies and experienced the post breast-feeding shed & regrowth period - that was a repeated series of bad hair months!

My arse this morning! 😭

Coincidentally, yesterday I noticed that Jamie Redknapp’s new wife was extolling the virtues of Lagree in her fitness Instagram post yesterday… So for about half a nanosecond I felt positively on trend… Until I try to step out of bed and my arse reminded me that I am not Frida Redknapp 🤣

In other news, my new peloton gear arrived yesterday so I am sporting a pair of very lurid Hot pink leggings for Tennis today 😳

Well done on doing the hit class though, I hate being out of breath so never do them!

PinkArt · 22/01/2026 10:13

I have a fringe and it's been a really interesting/ depressing way to track my hair changing. It went very thin around May/ June last year - I think a lot of mine was the pulmonary embolism as much as mounjaro - but has slowly been recovering. I can watch that process on my forehead as the wispy area slowly moves down. It's just hit the point where the baby hairs are rejoining the rest of it and my hairdresser said, before Christmas, that there's similar regrowth throughout.

flametrees · 22/01/2026 15:23

I stupidly tried on my wedding dress and sent a photo to Dh and my eldest Dd. Got married 24 years ago when my Dd was 4 months old. My dress wouldn’t fit me for years but it was even a little big today. Expected some sort of wow from Dh. He hearted it and then went on about his back still being sore. I’m pissed off.
Last week when I was saying I needed new clothes he said don’t go mad until you tone up!

Thank god my Dd is a bit more complimentary. But he’s rightly annoyed me.
