Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we hurtle towards Christmas proudly wearing Crimbo jumpers without fear of looking enormous, look for slinky party dresses on vinted and for the first time, willingly take part in ALL of the festive photos🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!
I’m on W55 D2 and on w6 (and final dose) of 3.75mg before moving onto 2.5mg.

Checking in. I am now awaiting a dark chocolate midi pleather skirt I have been eyeing up for months in the M&S half price sale - they only had an 8, a 20 and a 22 in store and the 8 did up (yay!) but left no room to breathe (or to tuck anything into said skirt). So, stood in just bra and pants in a changing room I went on the Sparks app and got the apparent last size 10 left in the country. I'd only popped in for nibbly things for tonight - resulting in a slightly unhinged party food selection for tonight/tomorrow/Friday since our local food hall is fairly small and there were slim pickings. It's going to be a global picnic/tapas/mezze/buffet type affair over several days depending on the other half's appetite. I also got him a half price Christmas pudding though, for I am an Adequate Wife.

Ooh that skirt sounds lovely! Enjoy. ☺️

Loving the phrase ‘adequate wife’ 😂

Have a fabulous time at the Savoy!

I’ve signed up to Rebel Finance School (same couple I think!) and joined the fb group but haven’t done much more than that.

I’ve downloaded Financial Feminist by Tori Dunlap and read some of that but not sure it’s all of it is quite necessarily me. Some good points in it though.

@SerenePeerWe are staying in with party food and fizz / cocktails. I did go to the pub with a friend till late Monday night (think it was an impromptu lock in!) so happy to vegetate on the sofa. I did make it to Pilates earlier so feel I’ve earned the snacks bits 😅

Great recommendations, thank you’

Sadly the premium bonds list has omitted to include me this morning so I guess investing it is 😂

The Savoy was delightfully festive 🥰

Happy New Year everyone! Here’s to a fabulous 2026 where we continue to build on our successes and achieve even more! What a difference this year has made. I’m still getting my head around it! Love to all of you and your amazing support.

My thoughts have turned to 2026 too, and I’ve been mulling over quite a few things (and may refine my list in the coming days).
Ah @Mounjaropenthat’s fab about the writing / book! I used to write (nothing amazing) but since having DS have struggled to find the time. It’s a lovely thing to do and I miss it.

I think my targets / resolutions for 2026 are similar to others, but anyhoo-

  • Get to below 10 stone (or even lower) and stay under 10 stone
  • Improve my nutrition - more protein, more fibre, less UPF
  • Start weight training
  • Increase my physical activity levels (to improve general fitness) (I’ll maintain my reformer Pilates)
  • No alcohol Mon - Thurs, except for evenings out / events
  • Reduce my doom scrolling / screen time (think it sucks my life a bit!)
  • Significant house declutter and organise
  • Go through my wardrobe (again!) and either sell, donate or store the items that are too big for me
  • Find time to be more creative (whether that’s things like painting furniture, cooking, gardening, or perhaps even writing again)
  • Look into Rebel Finance School / Dave Ramsey et al and improve my general financial savviness! I am trying to tell myself 2026 will be the year of austerity in case I need to stay on MJ long term! I say austerity, perhaps more about being savvy and optimising my finances - saving more, putting more into my somewhat meagre pension etc.

Excellent resolutions! I love a declutter 🥰

How strange! did you have the paperwork? I agree all of this stuff should’ve been dealt with before prescribing..I think a lot of these pharmacies were desperate to get in on the action and now realise they should’ve been more robust.

2nd GW 15st 4lbs
3rd GW: 13st 9lbs
4th GW: 11st 4lbs
TL: 6st 02lb

Another pound off this week AND I've set what might be my final goal weight. It takes me into a healthy BMI and was where my weight settled a lot in my early 20s. I have been in the 10s before as an adult but I'm being realistic that the higher end of my healthy young person weights is probably more likely to stick.

Because it's my birthday tomorrow (🥳) I don't really do hardcore resolutions. They just make for a bit of a sad birthday or I break them in two days! So mine is kind of a NY vibe check - 'Am I contributing to the best version of myself?'. A guest on a Mel Robbins podcast said it and it resonated. I like this it can be as specific or open as needed, in so many areas.

Cantbesure · 02/01/2026 12:30

Happy new year everyone! This is the first year in forever that my new year resolution doesn’t include to lose weight!

my resolutions are focusing on strength - I want to build my physical strength, but also my emotional and mental strength and the strength of my relationships. I had a real mental health blip at the end of the year and it’s made me see that I need to take care of myself.

weight wise I’m bouncing up and down a couple of pounds but staying within my range. I’m going to start RED and dry(ish) January on 5th when life goes back to normal. I got a garmin for Christmas and the impact drinking has on my body battery is illuminating. I sleep so poorly when I drink, even if I sleep for a long time it’s non-restorative.

Happy new year all! We've had a slow start to the new year which has been most welcome. In-laws were meant to come for dinner on the 1st but we have weather warnings in place here, so they decided to stay home and stay cosy and not risk icy roads.

Lovely snowy walk this morning then braved the roads for Body Pump at the gym. So feeling quite virtuous.

Been thinking about my goals for 2026. I turn 50 this year, so it's a special year:

  1. Wake up in New York on my birthday
  2. Refurbish the kitchen
  3. Get down to 10 stone exactly...or a smidge under
  4. Network my ass off at work and take the next step career wise
  5. Keep my fitness mojo going - 1 spin class, 1 body pump class and 1 reformer pilates class per week

It feels so good doesn't it! Mine is only a small weight one - once I lose the Xmas bloat I'm only 4lbs away from 10 st 0 so it feels very achievable.

Yay! I love that it works for all sorts of things - am I literally feeding myself well but also am I doing things to nourish the soul, or to make my flat a happier place to live etc.
I've never responded well to traditional resolutions because I don't like being told what to do. Even when it's me telling me what to do!

I do agree with this. Perhaps because I’ve had so many years of failed resolutions. But now I know I can actually achieve things I’m feeling a bit more positive - I like how @Mounjaropen calls them intentions rather than resolutions. Feels more realistic.

I’m just back from a walk and park visit with DS, it’s bloody freezing! 🥶

Not sure if this is helpful or not (with our cost saving plans for 2026!), but Boots have vitamins and supplements at half price, including revive collagen and stuff like creatine. I’ve stocked up on my Perfectil and some items like spatone, creatine and one revive collagen enhanced plus (I take a few a week to complement the type 1 & 3 collagen I take).

Yes it’s great to be able to say that I don’t have an unrealistic weight loss goal as a NY resolution. I think I have set ‘lose 2/3/4 stone’ as a goal for the past 20 years. I am only 4 or 5lb from goal so will concentrate on fitness instead.

Did a 7.5km run/jog this morning which I couldn’t have done in Jan 24 and would never have crossed my mind in Nov 24. Taking the MJ path had really has changed my outlook on life - I can go into any clothes shop (though mentally might not be ready for Zara 😂), I am not longer hiding behind people in photos, happy to exercise in front of others and have stopped worrying about how people perceived the fat me.

So here’s to a fabulous 2026 when we will all be at our goals weights and maintaining after all our hard work

Morning!
Finally caught up with weeks of messages, congratulations all on your progress and rather late happy Christmas and New Year!

In weight news, I'm still on a plateau since the start of October. Not much mystery about it as I've been eating a fairly normal rather than a weight loss diet. I've been on 10mg and find that for me there's not loads of suppression. I could have moved up but have been ok with staying at this weight for a while, basically just above a BMI 25. I've felt like I needed to adjust a bit mentally, and also get some use out of new clothes over the winter! It's also at 10st 5lb my 'standard' low weight at those periods I've been smaller, like at uni and when I got married, so there may be something there around a 'set point', as I've never been a lower weight than this.

I've eaten everything over Christmas, all the mince pies, roast potatoes and I have a new kitchen so have been really enjoying baking. Great thing is that I weighed in with some trepidation and haven't put any weight on at all, brilliant. A reminder that this drug isn't just an appetite suppressant but does a whole lot more.

However - I'm going to use the cultural NY get healthy push to start actively trying to lose more again. I've got a new 12.5mg pen which may assist with that although I'm super jealous of those who get bigger effects on lower doses.

I'd been with Oushk from the start but ordered with HeySlim due to discounting. Pen fine, but my god the text and email spam EVERY SINGLE DAY to reorder. Also very very minimal checks beforehand which I don't think is great.

In exercise news, I've had a major back issue now for weeks so - none. I think it's just about ok now for me to start gently working out again so I'm going to cease this essay now and get the smaller dumbbells out!
