Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we hurtle towards Christmas proudly wearing Crimbo jumpers without fear of looking enormous, look for slinky party dresses on vinted and for the first time, willingly take part in ALL of the festive photos🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!

Thank you @Cantbesure . My snail stuff arrived today & it was much cheaper than amazon.
Not sure whats happening but I've eaten my bodyweight in chocolate and rubbish for the last couple of days. I need to give myself a talking to.

I’ve had those days. I’ve discovered It’s not made me any happier, I’ve not missed out and on Sunday night frankly my over indulgence resulted in my throwing up simultaneously as having a dodgy tummy at 2am. It was not great but entirely self inflicted. Lesson learned!

Happy Twixtmas. I'm back home and am up just over a pound, which isn't bad going. I think I'm rather parched though, so hoping it might be water weight rather than Quality Street weight.
I really enjoyed a second Christmas of not wanting to eat all the chocolate in sight and not minding having my photo taken.

Aww the photos though! Isn’t it the best feeling? I’ve loved that part this year 🥰

Morning all!

Sounds like many of you have been having a fabulous Christmas, and I’m loving the food menus and cocktails!

@SerenePeer I’ve actually had a similar experience to you - I worried I’d be a ravenous beast eying up everything in sight but actually not really much different to normal. I had a hungry moment yesterday afternoon and did the same - snaffled a couple of Hotel Chocolat chocs I’d had for Christmas and a coffee and that scratched the itch. Well done for getting back to the gym!

Was nice to not get too full so delaying was the right decision. I jabbed yesterday morning. We ate out last night and I really enjoyed it (DS who is often a handful in restaurants was mostly well behaved which also helped). The fridge and freezer still has a lot of canapés / party food which I will nibble on from time to time (NYE meal might just be party food night!).

Survived the MIL visit. Questioned me once about my weight and whether I was going to lose any more (why she thinks it is appropriate to ask this shit is beyond me). It is obvious it stems from her own insecurities but still pisses me off (esp when SIL never gets asked stuff like this). She did her normal annoying comments (wandering around the house, asking is this new? Is this new? Think she has a thing about wanting to disapprove of any spending) (none of the things were new btw, our 5 year old Christmas tree and 5 year old toaster two of them!). She also stupidly said ‘I bet you really enjoyed being away for those 2 nights’ - when I had travelled for that funeral! I said ‘no, not really, why would I enjoy a funeral’ and she backtracked saying she meant in terms of it being nice to see family etc. Why couldn’t she just bloody say that then. It’s this kind of low level shit on an ongoing basis that pisses me right off 🤣 And breathe!

Goodness your MUL sounds like my ex-MIL. Just hard work. Hope you survived it all 😘

Ooh you have me hankering after some cocktails @Mounjaropen - how lush!

Well after 2 days of feasting and testing the residual mounjaro in my system to the absolute limit, I'm feeling reasonable reassured that weaning myself down to the lowest dose won't be too awful after all. I did find myself sitting thinking about food quite a bit yesterday, but after sitting with my thoughts for a bit I realised it wasnt food noise - I was bored! DH had gone for a nana nap after suffering with awful indigestion all night and the teenagers were building their annual lego boxes. So I made a cup of tea, binged Downtown Abbey and ate 2 chocolates. So suppression working well even after a skipped dose (Shotsy reckoned there was 3mg in my system yesterday afternoon).

I've just jabbed this morning, went to a spin class and am looking forward to eating less food today! Feel very smug about being back in the gym today - the place was absolutely deserted at 7am!

How's everyone else getting on? How did you fare with no jab @goldleafcat?

Seriously impressive work 💪

I watched the latest Downton Abbey film on Boxing Day. Was lovely but was a bit of a BOGOF from Julian Fellowes if you’ e watched The Gilded Age which he also writes…. Very similarly (identical) story arcs…

Happy Boxing Day all. I’ve missed several full threads. Since august!! I was unceremoniously cut off from MJ last summer when Donald trump bumped up the global price and Asda told me I’d reached my goal weight and couldn’t give me any maintenance plan. I was so shocked/devastated. I then waited a couple of months to get a video consult with OUSHK. The organisation from OUSHK was all a bit shambolic but with a lot of effort on my part to overcome all their website glitches I’m now on their maintenance plan. Phew! As I had started to regain my weight as soon as I stopped the MJ and was flying solo so to speak.
This time I’m giving Wegovy a whirl as it’s a bit cheaper. But happy to go back onto MJ if wegovy doesn’t cut the mustard. Time will tell. I’m grateful to have a maintenance plan as being dumped by Asda really upset me.
SW 13 st 3
lowest weight 9st 10
CW 10st 2
taking 0.5 of wegovy now.
TBH I feel zero side effects with wegovy and to worry that it’s not strong enough. Let’s see what happens. I’ve been awol off the threads since august but hope everyone doing well wherever you are within your journey. Here is to making good food choices, feeling good in our clothes and getting in our fresh air and daily steps in 2026. We can do it!!

Lovely to have you back!

Cloud is getting good reviews on MN for maintenance so maybe check them out. Oushk has been a shit show from my POV. Not impressed at all.

Hello

I had a lovely Xmas lunch yesterday, loads of fancy protein (crab, caviar, beef rib), this morning am on the naughty step having a cinnamon bun for brekkie. It’s bloody lovely. Have been walking 6-7 miles a day so hopefully it will all work out okay.
Ive not had much food noise which is lovely but have been able to enjoy some good meals without going crazy.

Hope everyone’s having a lovely lazy time.

You’ve put me to shame with that level of activity! Well done 🙌

Interesting medexpress update this week. They suddenly had loads of questions about my gallbladder, the one I've not had for over a decade. They asked for a copy of the surgical discharge paperwork! Weirdly I did still have it - a win for hoarding - but I don't even remember being given one at the time.
I'm glad pharmacies are being robust with their checks, but over a year into using mounjaro seems an odd time to start.

Goldleafcat · 31/12/2025 14:17

Happy New Year everyone! Here’s to a fabulous 2026 where we continue to build on our successes and achieve even more! What a difference this year has made. I’m still getting my head around it! Love to all of you and your amazing support.

My thoughts have turned to 2026 too, and I’ve been mulling over quite a few things (and may refine my list in the coming days).
Ah @Mounjaropenthat’s fab about the writing / book! I used to write (nothing amazing) but since having DS have struggled to find the time. It’s a lovely thing to do and I miss it.

I think my targets / resolutions for 2026 are similar to others, but anyhoo-

  • Get to below 10 stone (or even lower) and stay under 10 stone
  • Improve my nutrition - more protein, more fibre, less UPF
  • Start weight training
  • Increase my physical activity levels (to improve general fitness) (I’ll maintain my reformer Pilates)
  • No alcohol Mon - Thurs, except for evenings out / events
  • Reduce my doom scrolling / screen time (think it sucks my life a bit!)
  • Significant house declutter and organise
  • Go through my wardrobe (again!) and either sell, donate or store the items that are too big for me
  • Find time to be more creative (whether that’s things like painting furniture, cooking, gardening, or perhaps even writing again)
  • Look into Rebel Finance School / Dave Ramsey et al and improve my general financial savviness! I am trying to tell myself 2026 will be the year of austerity in case I need to stay on MJ long term! I say austerity, perhaps more about being savvy and optimising my finances - saving more, putting more into my somewhat meagre pension etc.
Goldleafcat · 31/12/2025 14:41

Mounjaropen · 31/12/2025 12:37

Ooh a sunrise walk sounds fabulous! Thanks for the invest tip. I’ll have a look. I’m gonna spend some time reading the tips from that mad couple who created a £1.5m pension pot in less than a decade for some ideas. Friends have just bought an off-plan property in Dubai which allegedly has doubled in value since March (🤔) so I’m looking at that plus some physical gold. Stufff I’ve never considered before beyond the usual ISA stuff.

I’m lunching at The Savoy today with DH (fancy!) We’ll have a few drinks in the American bar before/after most likely. We usually spend NYE with the neighbours watching all the fireworks but DH’s heart has been dicky the last couple of days so I think we’ll retire early as tiredness is a factor in it all. I did Pvolve today and walked the dog and I’ll be back on it tomorrow as not exercising feels alien to me right now. What a change from previous years!

Have a fabulous time at the Savoy!

I’ve signed up to Rebel Finance School (same couple I think!) and joined the fb group but haven’t done much more than that.

I’ve downloaded Financial Feminist by Tori Dunlap and read some of that but not sure it’s all of it is quite necessarily me. Some good points in it though.

@SerenePeerWe are staying in with party food and fizz / cocktails. I did go to the pub with a friend till late Monday night (think it was an impromptu lock in!) so happy to vegetate on the sofa. I did make it to Pilates earlier so feel I’ve earned the snacks bits 😅

BlueWalker · 31/12/2025 15:08

Checking in. I am now awaiting a dark chocolate midi pleather skirt I have been eyeing up for months in the M&S half price sale - they only had an 8, a 20 and a 22 in store and the 8 did up (yay!) but left no room to breathe (or to tuck anything into said skirt). So, stood in just bra and pants in a changing room I went on the Sparks app and got the apparent last size 10 left in the country. I'd only popped in for nibbly things for tonight - resulting in a slightly unhinged party food selection for tonight/tomorrow/Friday since our local food hall is fairly small and there were slim pickings. It's going to be a global picnic/tapas/mezze/buffet type affair over several days depending on the other half's appetite. I also got him a half price Christmas pudding though, for I am an Adequate Wife.

random223 · 31/12/2025 15:55

I have weighed in today - and am up about 5 pounds. Wish I wasn't but I have been aware of eating more than I need just because. It is the first time in years that my New Years Resolutions don't include "lose (at least) three stone" though so am feeling hopeful still and looking forward to wearing a party dress tonight.

My New Year's Resolutions are:
Get back to my normal eating & gym routine
Try and cut back on my Diet Coke addiction and increase my water uptake
Do some long distance cycle rides on my new bike
Sort out my sleep issues

A lot of weight gained this time of the year is 'water weight' as well though as we eat so much more salt and sugar and UPFs than usual. I doubt you are actually any bigger. I've gained the same, but frankly I expect most of it gone by Monday, provided I put away my crisps and dips 😉

You'll look fab in your party dress and I'm sure everyone in the room will agree with me. Enjoy, and treat yourself to a Diet Coke, it's still 2025 😉

I'll come up with my resolutions tomorrow, though already did them with my trainer health and fitness wise, so...

RayonSunrise · 01/01/2026 11:24

Morning all, happy new year! We ended up having a quiet NYE, with friends over late afternoon/early evening and then sitting around in PJs waiting for the midnight chimes and our children to roll in from their various parties. As a result I’m well rested and hydrated this start of January - possibly a first. Maybe it’s the start of a resolution?

I am up a kilogram after all the feasting, but as @LindtCurveshas said it’s likely quite a bit of water retention - there’s been a lot more salt and UPFs in my diet over the past 2 weeks! I’m actually craving some relatively “clean eating” now. Just one more feast meal planned today, and then one more family visit tomorrow, and I’m off hosting and show cooking for a good month! Roll on the salads…

One relatively small disappointment yesterday: I’d finally identified what I thought might be the “right” leopard coat on Vinted (after going right down a rabbit hole of cuts, lengths, patterns, etc) but the seller suddenly cancelled the transaction. Can’t help but wonder if she was wearing it as she did it, given the timing! So I’m back to square one, and in the cold light of January (apropos of all the financial resolution talk) back to do I really NEED a fun fur? Etc…

But in the meantime I have an excellent coffee in hand and the house is still quiet as the party people aren’t stirring yet! Maybe I’ll do some January gardening today in the relative dry.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 01/01/2026 12:10

Happy New Year all!

My resolutions are:

  • Lose another half stone to get to 9 stone (BMI 23)
  • Work more consistently when wfh to avoid frantic late night panics after procrastinating all day
  • Get on with new kitchen inc finding builder/plumber/electrician/plasterer (moving kitchen into dining room - current kitchen is tiny galley)
  • Join the gym
  • More dog walking
  • Finish the current sewing project (pleated trousers) and choose a new one
I haven’t weighed myself post-Christmas yet - bit scared!

So true @RayonSunrise!

Hope everyone is having a lovely New Year’s Day. Being a tad decadent with the calories here, I’m cooking a beef wellington with potatoes dauphinois and we have champagne in the fridge. Also have some smoked salmon canapés which will be opened shortly!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 01/01/2026 15:31

It’s DH’s birthday so I’ve just made cake (Victoria sponge with raspberries and cream), we’ll be having bellinis and sushi tonight, and we’re going out for dinner tomorrow. So still eating all the calories atm!

Mounjaropen · 02/01/2026 07:35

Happy New Year y’all!

Friday update from me:
Weight: don’t even want to look 😂
Exercise: not nearly enough
Shopping: it’s only the 2nd so 29 more days to go!

Back in the gym later after a booze free day yesterday (fair to say I very much overdid NYE 🤣), DH is sniffling so I’m hoping he’s not going down with anything 😩 Last day before DD goes back to Uni so getting the last snuggles in.. in between trying not to trip over eleventy billion pairs of minging trainers left everywhere, wondering where all the glasses have gone and trying to ignore the floordrobe which will inevitably have items in it that need laundering in the next 12 hours…🙄

Hope everyone’s year is getting off to a great start 🙌

Now that sounds very much like the sort of day I had planned.. but got ambushed by my SIL who wasn’t taking no for an answer on the visit front (them having cancelled last week..). And they don’t drink either. I hope you had a fab time. Mine was spent having to tell various children not to open felt tips on my bloody sofas 😂

Just set one intention. It doesn’t have to be massive. This time last year I decided to prioritise myself and my health for once. So no, I wouldn’t be stopping what I’m doing because the printer isn’t working/i can’t find my keys/what do I do, the air bnb me and my friends have booked has fallen through/can you get to the pharmacy in the next 25mins because I’ve not told you for the past week my prescription is ready and it’s Friday and I’ve got no meds left.. you know the stuff Mums/The household CEO does at the drop of a hat…and yes to I’ll do everything (if there’s time)and only after I’ve been in the gym/eaten/completed my skincare routine. It’s been quite life changing tbh. And has made everyone else in the family realise that they are not the Sun around which my life revolves…

This year I’ve more headspace to achieve more than one intention so I’m gonna have a go!

They sound do-able! Re:sleep try a shot of tart cherry juice 30mins or so before bed. I get the biona one on Ocado. It’s been very good for me and DH. You need 60-100mls or so. Plus the magnesium gummies. If you are on HRT, remember progesterone is sleep promoting so take that element in the evening.

I weaned DH off Diet Coke by swapping it for Dash water - it’s zero calories but no artificial sugars (which can still mess with your insulin levels) normally it’s buy a pack of 12, get another 12 half price on Ocado. And they taste delicious. Maybe try that?
