I haven’t lost any more weight since starting 0.5mg dose. I’m feeling a tad deflated. I may stop.

MissMogs · 15/12/2025 08:18

Well done everyone with the losses!
I can notice more wrinkles too, and I’m definitely losing more hair when I wash it, but overall I still want to lose more weight. I had great hair and fairly youthful I think before (I’m 45) but I was massive - BMI 40+. I felt like a sack of potatoes in whatever I wore, and chose clothing based on what would go over my bulk rather than what I liked, let alone what I might look good in. And obviously there’s the health side.

has anyone else moved their jab day ahead of Christmas? I’m a bit worried I might have more side effects as I only moved up to 12.5mg last week, but decided to jab a day early this week and will do the same next week so hopefully I’ll have a bigger appetite to enjoy Christmas Day. I’ve denied myself treats for 6 months - I damn well want to enjoy the puddings and chocolate and pigs in blankets next week!!

Crinklecat · 15/12/2025 11:27

my face is more wrinkly but I’ve got a way to go before looking too skinny. My upper thighs seem a bit wrinkly too

i was hoping I’d keep my hour glass shape when I lost weight but I’m more straight up and down now. Before I gained weight in my early 20s I had a lovely shape so was hoping to get that back but maybe pregnancy and age change that and not just weight. I do have another stone until I’m at my target (overweight not obese) as I’ve said I’d be happy staying chunky but I’m debating going for another 2, so 6 in total

Im still able to eat and drink on 7.5mg so wont be making any changes for Christmas

GlowGetter · 15/12/2025 16:37

I'm not making any changes for Christmas because I don't want to end up 7lb heavier like in previous years.

BadgerFace · 15/12/2025 17:42

I am finding that I am starving at times on 5mg so not worried about not being able to eat at Christmas but hoping the MJ will help me to not overeat. I am due to jab Xmas day so wondering if I do Xmas eve instead as otherwise I’ll be too busy to remember/not get caught by a child at 6am which is when I usually jab…

FoxRedPuppy · 15/12/2025 18:19

I’m maintaining down on 5mg now (from a 7.5mg). I’m surprised how well it’s going. I do get hungry, really hungry sometimes but I see to be managing it with sensible snacks or just putting up with being hungry.

I do still find I can’t drink too much alcohol, which isn’t a bad thing.

For bum muscle building, you need glute exercises- squats and glute bridges. And it will take a longtime.

I was jabbing 5mg every 6th day to move my jab day back to Sun, which equated to approx 6mg over 3/4 weeks. I lost nothing in this time, so I upped to 7.5mg when I got to Sunday. I ended up feeling nauseous but this could have been to go with the migraine I also had, I couldn’t eat and didn’t drink enough either, I felt dizzy we standing up, not helped by the fact I was upping my hypertension tabs to try to control my migraines again, so all in all a really crappy week whereby at the end of the week I ate everything in site and gained 1lb. This week I’ve done 50 clicks from a 7.5mg pen which is 6.25mg and thankfully have no side effects, bar infection site reaction.
Since my holiday I can’t get back into my eating regime either, so I’ve not been having a tbsp chia seeds in water (which helps fill me up) and not been having my go to snack of pomegranate/tinned grapefruit and also a ice lolly or drinking enough either. I just can’t seem to get back into it! I am more wrinkly and have turkey neck!
NSV bought size 12-14 pjs and fit in them (definitely on the size 14 side!) unfortunately I can’t wear them until my family give them back to me for Christmas!! All my 16-18 pjs have been loose/ held up with a hair bobble, which falls off in the night and then I have to hold onto them as I waddle to the toilet in the middle of the night!

Do you mean 5mg? And when did you move up to that dose?
Do you know your TDEE and are you counting calories?

Emas82 · 16/12/2025 07:43

@Crinklecat 12st 12.7lbs!! Woo!! That was on my new scales, old scales were 12st 13lbs so I'm happy they are both weighing virtually the same.

Crinklecat · 16/12/2025 07:59

@Emas82 congratulations!! So much nicer being able to see the progress, I’d struggle only knowing the pounds.

Im also 12st 12.7lbs today! 0.2lbs until my 4 stones. Although the app kindly rounded up for me and told me I’ve already lost 4 stone, I’ll take it 😂

Nice to see the numbers going down ☺️ should give us a good buffer for Christmas too, don't want to see that pesky number 13 again!

Crinklecat · 16/12/2025 08:18

@Emas82 exactly! 12 and lower please

ChiaraMontague · 16/12/2025 14:10

What’s everyone planning to do over Christmas?

I was going to continue as normal (jabbing on Friday evening) but I think I’m going to move this week’s dose to Sunday, and then jab again on Monday 29th Dec.

I went out for my team Christmas lunch yesterday and
even though I ordered modestly (main course only, no alcohol) I still felt uncomfortably full at the end of the meal.

We’ve got a big family meal this Saturday and then another one on Sunday 28th Dec (plus Christmas dinner on 25th) - I don’t want to binge at any of these meals but I do want to be able to pass for “normal”, especially as lots of extended family members don’t know I’m taking Mounjaro and haven’t seen me since this time last year!

When I finish this pen, I will start titrating down and focus on protein and weight lifting 💪

Crinklecat · 16/12/2025 14:31

@ChiaraMontague im staying as normal, my family don’t know (my son does but I’ve asked him not to say). If you’ve lost a lot of weight people will at least know you’re dieting so not unusual for you to eat a smaller portion

SecretIrnBruDrinker · 16/12/2025 15:32

I'm going to stick with lots of plain veg and the meat on the day. The issue will be with the selection boxes and celebrations etc floating around, especially with the ones the kids don't like and usually give to me! Everyone has got quite good at not offering me stuff and not eating it in front of me. Jab day is Saturday, but last Saturday was my golden dose and I didn't measure too closely once I'd got the air out thinking a bit extra might be a good idea this week.

MissMogs · 16/12/2025 15:41

I’m trying to navigate the season without telling people either about the Mounjaro or wanting to discuss losing weight or dieting at all, particularly family. I’m known to like my food so hoping I can avoid too much scrutiny - hence wanting to adjust jabs so I can eat things I normally wouldn’t on the jabs. And I’d like to enjoy myself too. I’m not sure how noticeable the loss is. 4 stone down but only one dress size and I suspect for my family I’m still enormous so they’re less likely to be tuned in to degrees of enormity!

Crinklecat · 16/12/2025 15:56

@MissMogs I’m sure 4 stone is noticeable, that’s a huge achievement. I know what you mean not wanting to talk about it though. Funny because at work etc we all talk about the jabs/ weight loss but it’s not something I want to discuss with my family. Have you tried eating heavy food/ alcohol etc? I can’t have as much as I used to but only because I get too full. I don’t get any side effects, and never have

MissMogs · 16/12/2025 16:04

I don’t drink much normally so luckily that won’t look unusual. I haven’t tried eating loads while on MJ because I make myself stop (which MJ helps with of course!) Alrhough been pleasantly surprised not to have any ill effects in summer from the occasional ice cream or more recently with the odd mince pie which id been fearing after reading others experiences with it!

RussianDoll76 · 16/12/2025 16:09

my jab day is Sunday and my dc are at there dads this year so I am not having a dinner and haven’t bought in Christmas food this year. There’s a few bits for the kids when they’re home but I am going to keep it like any other day for me . My suppression has eased usually by Saturday so then I may have a little something, a takeaway perhaps but I’m not really fussed at the moment. I have a big works meal this Saturday and I’m looking forward to dressing up and having a laugh but dreading the meal . Will probably try pushing it round my plate a bit and hope no one notices . It feels nice to not have the usual excitement for food. I always go stupid crazy food shopping at Christmas. 😂

FoxRedPuppy · 16/12/2025 19:27

I have people talking to me about my weight loss. Not really good friends, but people at work/acquaintances. I’ve had it quite a bit recently and it makes me feel uncomfortable.

HappyWineDay · 16/12/2025 20:11

I will just be eating my “new normal”, which for me is low carb. I haven’t had a potato since June but I WILL be having roasties!
But generally I’ve got used to not eating sweets and choccy and can easily leave it these days.

Crinklecat · 16/12/2025 20:14

@RussianDoll76 maybe find another way to treat yourself Christmas Day?

I agree about not being excited about food as much, saving me a fortune! Although I still enjoy meals out etc and look forward to the food. Although now I looking at calories on menus I’m shocked at how high food is. Was looking at a smokehouse menu and everything was between 1000-2500! Only the fish was about 700 and that was just fish and veg, no potatoes etc. Puts me off the food more

healthjourney · 16/12/2025 20:32

Hi everyone, I've not been posting much recently but I've still been reading and love seeing everyone's updates.

I've been in a plateau for a few weeks but I know why, my alcohol intake has increased and we've been for a few meals out so average calories have crept up.
So I have new plan to finish the year strong 💪

  • increase fruit and veg as I noticed this has slipped
  • increase my dose to a full 5mg
  • reduce alcohol consumption
  • choose any indulgences mindfully over the next few weeks, I won't deny myself everything but I'm not wasting calories on anything that isn't amazing.
  • steps and strength training has still been good so no need to change anything there

Fingers crossed that should get me back to seeing regular progress

Crinklecat · 16/12/2025 21:13

@healthjourney don’t forget to drink alllll the water, I think that’s what got me losing again. Good luck!

HappyWineDay · 16/12/2025 22:54

My weakness has always been a tray of nibbles before eating - cheese, pickles, charcuterie. Most of it isn’t too bad for carbs but I’ve completely eliminated crisps and wine gums which were my major downfall. My DD usually buys me a 3kg box of Lions wine gums for Christmas which doesn’t take me long to devour - I know!!! I was always easily able to eat a family bag of crisps in front of the tv, no problem. I no longer have any issue saying no to these and the fact that it’s Christmas won’t change that. Mj is amazing.
As I said earlier though, I definitely will be having roasties on the 25th!
And importantly, this group is great support to keep us on track!
