aahhhh hair is falling out !!!!!!!!

Mine too, and my teeth are chipping easily! My daughter pointed out that hair loss/teeth problem can be from menopause also, so buggered both ways! I’ve asked my gp for a blood test, but apparently instead of just sending me for one, they want to discuss it before hand. I need to get in touch with my dentist to see if I need high fluoride toothpaste too!

Hopefully they will get you straight in for the blood test after talking to you about it. 🤞

I have them regularly and I am always anaemic I have infusions every year or so. Today was a bit of a shocker though my hair came out in 2 big handfuls after I washed it . I mean handfuls !!! 🥺 I had expected some hair loss but not on that scale. I have the hairdressers tomorrow , A haircut, roots dying , highlights and blow dry I may end up bald when she’s finished it’s a lot of pulling about 😬.

Bloozie · 11/12/2025 22:14

My hair looks like shit. Falling out and dull and dry.

SunandMoor · 11/12/2025 23:31

@RussianDoll76 I was hoping having got to 6 months I had avoided this!! Hope it calms down. I have taken biotin and collagen from the beginning have you had any supplements?

Quay · 11/12/2025 23:43

My hair is thin too and there’s a definite bald patch showing through at the front!😭😭. I’ve bought some protein powder to introduce protein shakes into my day as I need to up my protein intake and apparently protein is good for hair loss.
I’ve lost 3 stone since June and weight loss is definitely slowing down which I’m fine with. Am wondering if I should buy another pen as Chemist4U have said that from January their pens will have less extra fluid in them so the golden dose will be no more - bastards! I’ve not got much more to lose but it was hit and miss earlier last month whether they would let me have the last pen as my BMI is in the normal range. Luckily they approved it..

RussianDoll76 · 12/12/2025 07:47

@Bloozie it’s great we start to feel good about our weight loss and then this happens !
@SunandMoor yes I’m taking lots of supplements. 6 months seems to be around the time hair loss kicks in on average . I know it will right itself but it’s scary when it’s falling out .
@QuayI have also lost 3 stone and I know I have taken my eye off the protein in the last few weeks . I feel I am probably not eating as much as I should in the attempt to get the remaining stone off. If you are worrying about having another pen because of hair loss it won’t matter as it’s a reaction to weight loss. I lost 10 stone about 20 years ago and my hair dramatically thinned out but it was very thick then so it didn’t matter . My hair has thinned and dried out with peri menopause so I’m definitely more concerned this time around. Are you going to stop MJ when you hit target or titrate down ?
Im thinking for me titration is probably better my sister came off MJ in October and has gained 10lbs she literally can’t stop thinking about food she never had food noise before. For clarity she didn’t take it properly just a jab here and there when the suppression wore off . So it’s definitely her own fault . Now she is having to start again and do it properly 🙄.

Oh no I’d read about Eli Lilly reducing the liquid in the pens but had hoped it wouldn’t happen for a while yet. From January?? I have another pen coming tomorrow but was hoping that would see me through another few months (I still have a couple in the fridge). Now wondering if I should stock up more. I still have the credit card debt from stocking up in August!!

Quay · 12/12/2025 08:07

@RussianDoll76 Thanks. Sadly my hair has never been thick so every strand is precious!😂. I’m definitely going to titrate down but I’m going to do it very slowly as I definitely don’t want the food noise back. I’m currently on 7.5mg (using a 10mg pen) and have a 7.5mg and 5mg pen in the fridge. My thought process is to get another 7.5mg pen and start titrating down to 5mg. And then once I’ve hit my target of 53kg (am currently 58.2kg - so in the normal weight for my 5’2 height, but want some leeway weight wise) stay for a few months on 2.5mg maintenance and then (if successful) come off MJ fully. Hopefully this will work 🤞. My portion control is so much better and I don’t want this to change when I come off MJ. But equally I don’t want to stay on MJ forever. I also need to introduce some proper exercise With weights as I’ve got some very loose skin on my legs etc! But that’s another story lol.

RussianDoll76 · 12/12/2025 08:31

I’m also on 7.5mg and I’m now at 67 kg and would like to get to 57kg for some wiggle room . I am also 5’2 . Exercise is what I’m trying to get excited about 😂. I am sorry if tmi but my bottom looks like a dropped quiche . It’s just empty I hate it, this definitely needs attention also thighs and upper arms . I know it could’ve been worse but wow !! I’ve been feeling a bit weak sure I’m not eating enough and obviously this hasn’t helped with motivation to exercise .
It’s nice to hear other people’s experiences. I don’t discuss MJ with anyone really and as I said my sister is an abuser of it . She’s always been slim and she just used the jabs to get into a smaller dress size . This has now massively come back to bite her on the bum.

Focusispower · 12/12/2025 12:26

My hair has also been falling out. It feels noticeably thinner. I think it’s actually more to do with perimenopause and a likely iron deficiency than it is to do with MJ as I'm
maintaining now and haven’t lost any weight for 2 months.

I’ve also decided that the anxiety isn’t worth it - again I think exacerbated by peri and work stress but I definitely feel less anxious as time passes post jab. To be on the safe side I’ve decided to go it alone with maintaining again now. I am about to start HRT so let’s see what happens. I have the comfort blanket of two pens in the fridge.

The thing I’m most sad to give up is the total lack of bloating - MJ seems to control my stomach and bloating so well and then it creeps back when I stop.

@RussianDoll76 I’d recommend reformer Pilates if you have anywhere near you. It’s been amazing for toning and tightening. Plus for the bum, do 10 squats every hour during the day. It will make a difference!

Quay · 13/12/2025 00:08

@RussianDoll76 Im exactly the same! My bum especially, so much so that I find it so uncomfortable sitting on a hard chair - I’ve lost the padding!! I feel I need to carry a cushion around. Am sure I’m literally sitting on the bones of my arse!
NSV though - I had 2 suitcases full of clothes that I used to fit into, in the loft, including some size 12 jeans. Had a good look through today and once I’ve washed them (even though they were washed before being moved to the loft), I’ll have lots of ‘new’ clothes to wear! An even better NSV is that I’ve gone down boob wise. They’re still like dog ears - plus a bit mangled from BC treatment (lumpectomy etc) but am no longer 34H - now a 32GG so that’s a definite win to me! Having big boobs is no joke - the backache is still horrendous so no change there but the weight loss has definitely improved my knee joints and mobility.
I’m going to look into some weight training exercises. I did buy one of those weighted hoop things that were all the rage - tried it once and couldn’t get the hang of it - plus I was worried I’d knock the dog out with the weighted thing that flies round as you’re doing it. Apparently if you do it right the weighted thing flies round at tremendous speed!!😱 I’ll give it another go when the dog’s in doggy daycare - then I’ll just have the cat to worry about!! 🤣

@MissMogs I don’t know about other suppliers but Chemist4U sent an email out recently to say the extra liquid would be reduced. I was thinking about ordering another pen but don’t think I will now. What with Christmas plus MOT/Service on car just paid out (£600+) I can’t really justify the cost - especially as I do have 2 new pens in the fridge, a 7.5 and a 5mg. If I take them as they are then they’ll do me for 10 weeks but obviously a lot more weeks if I split them.

ihavetocookagain · 13/12/2025 08:53

@Quayif you walk your dog, could you get a weighted vest to wear for a bit of weight resistance?

Crinklecat · 13/12/2025 09:56

I’m in the 12s!!! Just (and had to have 3 wees to get there). But yeay! 1.2 lbs off 4 stone since 15 June. Hoping I can get that before 15 December, unlikely given slow losses but I hope so.

I didn’t realise they were removing the golden dose, really can’t afford another pen (I’ve got a couple already) but seems silly not to get one…. Hmmm

Well done!! I was hoping to sees the 12's today too, but alas, no joy. 13st on the dot!

Crinklecat · 13/12/2025 10:26

@Emas82 tomorrow! I was 13.05 on first weigh, waited had another wee-13, waited again and weed again and now the 12s ha ha

Crinklecat · 14/12/2025 11:43

@Emas82 did you get it? I’m back in the 13s 🙄 was nice while it lasted…

Nope! Still 13st on the dot! But I have ordered some new scales, coming tomorrow. Not that I think mine are bad exactly, but they only weigh in whole pounds so it would be nice to see the little amounts I think

RatherTardy · 14/12/2025 15:20

Not been around much because not had much to say.

Weightloss has slowed to a trickle, but I've got quite a lot of social stuff going on, so im not surprised as my usual routine is out of whack.

Lovely reading how well you're all doing.

How are you all calculating your %ages?

@Bloozie I suspect you and are are a similar size/build

I use Shotsy for tracking my weight loss and jabs. I don’t actually look at the “levels” (of medicine) any more but it’s useful to remind me to rotate where I’m jabbing, and it creates a satisfying graph showing loss over time and % lost, % towards goal, BMI etc. You can track calories and side effects too if that’s your thing

ChiaraMontague · 14/12/2025 19:24

I hit a couple of milestones today - my BMI is 25.0 🎉
And I’ve now lost 4 stone 🎉🎉 I’m now 78.2kg

I was planning to continue on with 10mg until I got to about 72kg but I’m also starting to worry about my protein (and nutrient) consumption and muscle loss, so I think that I will start titrating down from the end of this pen and focus on eating more, exercising more and trying to gain some muscle mass.
I’ve got a 15mg pen in the fridge so I’ll take 7.5mg from that and then maybe think about 5mg.

CreepingCrone · 14/12/2025 20:46

Brilliant, well done, @ChiaraMontague!
6 months in, this is the first week that's feeling like a slog to me.
I'm having a Goldielocks moment:
7.5mg was too little and 10mg feels like too much. I'm too suppressed and just CBA'd to eat or even drink much water, some days.
I'm thinking about reducing my dose by counting the clicks. Maybe to 8 or 8.5mg.
I've still got 1st 2lbs to lose for my goal, which isn't a healthy BMI, still a bit overweight. But that feels realistic and sustainable to me.
Has anyone gone down a dose? How did you feel? What should I do if It's not "enough"? Should I do a mini dose to make it back up to 10mg?

Sogfree · 14/12/2025 23:04

I saw a friend today who I hadn't seen for 18 months.

She's half the woman she was. She was rightly super proud of the weight she's lost.

But, and I hope this is a safe place to say it, the amount of weight she's lost has left her looking really old. Her skin on her face is wrinkly and sagging, where it wasn't before. She's practically bald on top. And her neck jowls...

It's made me look at myself with a critical eye and recognise that I want a thin waistline less than I want a saggy, aged head and neck. I'm now not going to go up to 10mg. I'm sticking at 7.5 and will move down the doses sooner than expected.

HappyWineDay · 14/12/2025 23:48

@RatherTardy to calculate the percentage you’ve lost -
Your starting weight is 100%
So divide your weight lost by your starting weight (in kg or lbs).
Say you were 100kg to start with and you’ve lost 20kg.
Thats 20/100 = 0.2 = 20%
Or 15st = 210lbs. You’ve lost 3st which is 42lbs
42/210 = 0.2 = 20%
Hope that makes sense! 👍🏻

Librariesrule · 15/12/2025 07:55

Back from a week all inclusive in Spain. Jabbed last night 3days late. Weighed this morning, have gained 3lb which I'm ok with. Don't think I ate a huge amount more than usual, but the alcohol intake was definately increased. Back to it this week, back to work tomorrow with team Christmas lunch on Wednesday, thinking I'll be g8ving away my roasties 😅
