Ooh placemarking on the new thread. Thanks @FoxRedPuppy

Hi everyone. I’m on week 23 and 50lbs down. I’m using a 7.5 pen but counting clicks to do 6mg. This way I’m getting 5 doses and last pen I did the hard twist to get a 6th dose. I’ve ordered syringes now so that I get the 6th dose that way.
I have 2 doses left in my current pen and then have 3 pens of 7.5mg and 1 pen of 10mg. Wondering if that will see me through, at the current rate of 6 doses per one it would take me to mid May. I don’t want to risk leaving a long gap between orders and not being able to get it again so hoping to stock up enough to see me to the end. Trying to plan ahead but finding it tricky. Thinking about ordering another 10mg to use for tapering down. Has anyone else got a significant supply and trying to work out how they might end?

I’m in a similar situation. I bought a couple of extra pens in august and now find myself with a bit of a bow wave. I know I’ll very soon need to maintain and taper down but absolutely don’t want to find myself unable to order in case that tapering takes longer than expected. It’s a bit scary if I decide not to order after 4/5 weeks and then find I can’t manage without at the end of January.
I guess the question is, how much more weight do you need to lose and how long do you think it’ll take?

Crinklecat · 20/11/2025 05:52

I’ve ordered the biggest pen I can each time so have a 15mg on the way at the moment. I’m currently on 7.5mg plus using all liquid until it’s empty. I’ve got a 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg pen now to use. If I stay on 7.5mg this should do me around 6 months which I’m hoping is enough to get me to target and a bit of maintenance. Although my goal still makes me overweight. I know some providers do maintenance as long as your BMI isn’t too low so there’s always that option too

I've been thinking of doing this, but Farmeci made me prove I'd placed an order with another company after not ordering from them for 10 weeks. I hadn't ordered anything else. I was using up my August pens at half measures.

So I'm worried about what might happen next spring if I don't order for several months if I buy ahead for a few months now.

What are your thoughts Crinklecat?

Crinklecat · 20/11/2025 07:33

@Sogfree i think the companies offering maintenance have different requirements so as long as your BMI isn’t unhealthy then you can get 2.5 mg after a gap. I’m not sure if it was on here or Instagram I saw that though. That’s why I’ve ended up with a stash though as I didn’t want to leave too long between ordering when I need the bigger doses

RussianDoll76 · 20/11/2025 08:46

I have had some health changes that have just been discovered over the past few weeks ( heart related) definitely not MJ related and very much under control , I have had a call from my surgery saying once it’s put onto my file I won’t be able to order MJ online and get immediate approval as they will have to inform whichever pharmacy has requested info. 😫
They called because they agree the MJ has helped me health wise but have said in there experience pharmacies panic when they see heart related problems.
I have a couple of 5mg pens to go after my next dose but I’m on 6.25mg. So I’ve just had to panic buy 2x 7.5mg pens ( £400 which I thought wasn’t bad ) fingers crossed they approve them. I’m not yet to target but I do think I need MJ as a lifetime thing hopefully in a very small dose every few weeks is the plan.

Like so many of you my fear was I wouldn’t get maintenance doses now I’m panicking I am going to be stranded with none ! 😫🥺.
Anyone have similar experience?

positive note the 3lb gain yesterday has gone ! Phew ! Back in the 10’s
sorry if tmi but ➡️💩 💩 ⬅️ who knew 😳😂

Is there a pharmacy linked to your surgery? Because that's where I now get my mounjaro from. They are more expensive than online pharmacies, because they don't discount BUT the pharmacist will happily prescribe off license for me, and allow stockpiling, and isn't concerned about long gaps between orders, because he sees me, he sells me the right insulin needles to extract golden doses, he gives me wipes to clean the pen every time... My GP surgery recommended doing it this way and it has definitely saved me stress, and money (I'm currently using 10mg to extract 5mg with his blessing).

FoxRedPuppy · 20/11/2025 08:59

@RussianDoll76 i have a heart condition (I’ve had 4 heart attacks) and I’ve never had any issue getting it. I think one said no but that was for a medication I take for something else.

Happy to chat about it if you want.

I should add I’m also on medication for my heart too.

@Bloozie that’s good to know about using the larger pens for smaller doses. I’ve been doing it but always feel a bit rogue so good to hear a pharmacist recommending it

i got my 15mg at a bargain of £50 because the 12.5mg ended up being returned to the post office and I couldn’t collect it for a few days. I’m still using it but the provider kindly gave me 75% off my next pen to make up for it (as officially I could use it for 1 dose before it would be out the 30 day window as I already had a pen open)

I really appreciate the replies my mind is more at ease now.
Mj is amazing I do worry about how dependent I feel but I really don’t want to go back to life without it. It’s so much more than losing weight . I feel like me again .

Crinklecat · 20/11/2025 11:23

I agree, I think I’ll be on it for life. Hopefully at a much reduced rate! Even when I was having the plateau it was such a relief to know when I gained a pound or 2 that it was only temporary and not the start of putting it all back on like it usually would be

I’ve been selling my bigger clothes/ coats so I can’t put it back on now!

BadgerFace · 20/11/2025 12:45

For my plateau pals, keep the faith - this morning I had dropped a pound after being there which was heartening. I am also due my period so I’m hoping that means another lb down next week…

I am now a pound away from my aspirational goal weight of 10 stone 2 which blows my mind slightly. 😲

I started my 7.5mg with a half dose so finished the golden dose today with only a half dose and took the other 3.5mg from my remaining 5mg pen. I felt a bit weird doing two injections so hope that doesn’t cause any problems for me! I also think I’d rather stay on 7.5mg than reduce down so I might need to use my 5mg differently. So I also need to buy another couple of pens I think… I think an end of Jan finish might be a better option than mid-December.

MissMogs · 20/11/2025 14:50

Numan have delivered! And with a very solid ice pack, sharps bin, needles and wipes included. Phew!

I love it. I genuinely think it has helped my mental health too. I have generally less “noise” not just food noise.

My heart attacks weren’t normal ones caused by cholesterol and heart disease. I have a rare thing where my artery wall tears and the flap from tear then blocks the artery.

Im on blood pressure meds as my blood pressure needs to be kept very low, anticoagulant and one that helps with chest pain I get from the arteries healing (my last two were in March and it can cause spasms for up to two years after).

Ive been fully honest with online pharmacies and not had an issue at all.

Good to know others have the same situation! I have around another 40lb to loose, if not 50 but will see how it goes. I think I’ll order another 10mg pen in a few weeks now that I have a recent order to show. IQ Doctor wanted to drop me down to 5mg because there had been a long gap but I sent them a photo of my stockpiled pens and said I had bought several and there were now nearly gone so needed a new one and they sent the 10mg.

Yes , I agree . I have suffered for all my life with ibs -d and it’s totally gone since my first dose. Also hormones now feel regulated and life just feels calmer. Symptoms of peri menopause heavy bleeding , mood swings, muscular pain and bad skin . All gone !!
My doctor agrees it’s a good thing for me and he wasn’t keen to start but the results speak for themselves .

Thank you for sharing regarding your heart history i appreciate it very much. I had a few weeks after receiving test results of feeling sacred and stressed but i now realise i feel rather healthy and now i am on meds and being monitored so now i really just need to implement a regular form of exercise i enjoy so it’s sustainable. I am definitely feeling more positive regarding MJ . Thank you for that. I haven’t heard back regarding my panic buy this morning so not sure if it’s ok . At least I know I can get it elsewhere . This thread is brilliant 🤩.

Bloozie · 21/11/2025 09:12

I also agree that I feel much calmer and more in control - it's not just food noise that's gone. HRT has helped with that too. It's only now I am more in myself again that I realise just how bad my mental health has been, between about 2020 and 2024.

I'm going to whisper this, and I'm certainly not calling the bear era over yet, but I weighed myself this morning and I an 16 stone 4lbs. I was 16st 10lbs on Monday. And I've been swinging up and down - mostly up - around 16st 10lbs for the whole of November.

At the start of the week I felt really bloated, this morning it's like someone's put a pin in my belly. It's quite a disgusting sight, as it goes. A hard fat tummy is infinitely better, visually, than the jelly that's there today. HOWEVER. There is less of the jelly. We will take this.

The only material difference between this week and last week, food-wise, is I have increased my water intake. It really makes a massive difference. HUGE.

And now join me in my weight loss mental gymnastics... I am now a mere 1st 5lb away from being 14st 13lbs, and 14st 13lbs has the same first number as my trigger weight for, Bloozie, you need to lose some WEIGHT. A weight I feel good at, is just over 13 stone. Which is still obese in terms of BMI, but you can see my hip bones and (faintly) my ribs at that weight and I don't find it hard to maintain, so we ignore BMI. ANYWAY. Disciplined me used to take action if the scales tipped 14 stone AND I'm only 1st 5lb away from being in the old me range of normal.

OK, it's the very higher end of old me normal. But shush.

Which is a very long-winded way of saying I still need to lose 3st 4lb but if I break it down into chewable chunks I'M PRACTICALLY THERE GUYS. Nearly BMI 28 and just overweight.

I didn't weigh myself properly at the start of this, but I think I'm about 5 and a half stone down now. So more than halfway.

My next mini goal is to be a size 16 by Christmas. I'm wearing 18 jeans from Tu now and could probably size down, but I have size 16s in my wardrobe that still don't fit. I would like them to be fitting by Christmas.

Crinklecat · 21/11/2025 11:34

Well done @Bloozie sounds like you’ve finally broken the plateau! Strange how much water makes a difference isn’t it

MsRinky · 21/11/2025 11:35

Hello new thread. Still keeping on keeping on here. 4.5kg to go until my BMI is under 30 for the first time in 30 years. My birthday is mid-January so am hoping I get there by then.

ToddlerMumma · 21/11/2025 16:45

Med Express have refused my latest order, despite happily taking my money for 6 months. They said something came up on my summary care review but won’t tell me what it is! So I went to Asda who approved my 12.5mg pen in 10 minutes and it was £40 cheaper!

in other news, I’m now in the 10s!!! 10stone 13lbs but I’ll take it. I haven’t been 10stone something since 2016 Blush

ChiaraMontague · 21/11/2025 17:00

Wow Thread 6!

It’s so great seeing how much progress we’ve all made since June 🎉

81.6kg today. I was thinking I would still be edging towards 80kg by the end of the year but I think I’ll be there in the next 2 weeks 😁

MissMogs · 22/11/2025 07:39

Hooray! I had a whoosh! Several weeks of barely any change and this morning I was 1.5kg lower than yesterday!?!! I’m gonna take it. And with that I’ve reached my halfway point. 23% of my weight gone! I can’t believe it. BMI is still 32.3 and I need to lose another 24kg to even be at the top of a healthy weight range, but considering my BMI was over 40 when I started, I am beyond pleased with where I’m at now already. Still only dropped one dress size though…!

RatherTardy · 22/11/2025 07:53

LOVE the bear weight thing.
And totally agree.
I'm REALLY struggling to drink a reasonable amount of water atm.
And I'm not doing my usual exercise and it's showing on the scales. Which isn't surprising but still annoying. But is a reminder of what life without mj is like.
I also am worried about buying my next pen.
Going to do what one of you has done and take a pic of all the boxes I've been stockpiling.

Funny NSV.... I wear jewellery most days, and I keep dropping things on the floor and having to grope around in the dark to try and find them. I NEVER used to have to do that. Or very, very occasionally.
The other day I realised WHY I keep dropping and nearly losing things...
My thighs don't meet in the middle any more. 🤣🤣🤣
I'm not dropping things more, I've just lost the ability to naturally catch them!
