I LOVE that NSV @RatherTardy

Well done you

Crinklecat · 23/11/2025 09:21

I’ve just tried to do 7.5mg from my 12.5mg pen but I had to click about 6 times until I got the little drop come out. Then when I did the full dose the first half of the press just whooshed down before I got the usual resistance for the last half. Really worried I’ve only had a half dose, but obviously can’t check so don’t want to inject more 😭

I also agree that I feel much calmer and more in control - it's not just food noise that's gone. HRT has helped with that too. It's only now I am more in myself again that I realise just how bad my mental health has been, between about 2020 and 2024.

I'm going to whisper this, and I'm certainly not calling the bear era over yet, but I weighed myself this morning and I an 16 stone 4lbs. I was 16st 10lbs on Monday. And I've been swinging up and down - mostly up - around 16st 10lbs for the whole of November.

At the start of the week I felt really bloated, this morning it's like someone's put a pin in my belly. It's quite a disgusting sight, as it goes. A hard fat tummy is infinitely better, visually, than the jelly that's there today. HOWEVER. There is less of the jelly. We will take this.

The only material difference between this week and last week, food-wise, is I have increased my water intake. It really makes a massive difference. HUGE.

And now join me in my weight loss mental gymnastics... I am now a mere 1st 5lb away from being 14st 13lbs, and 14st 13lbs has the same first number as my trigger weight for, Bloozie, you need to lose some WEIGHT. A weight I feel good at, is just over 13 stone. Which is still obese in terms of BMI, but you can see my hip bones and (faintly) my ribs at that weight and I don't find it hard to maintain, so we ignore BMI. ANYWAY. Disciplined me used to take action if the scales tipped 14 stone AND I'm only 1st 5lb away from being in the old me range of normal.

OK, it's the very higher end of old me normal. But shush.

Which is a very long-winded way of saying I still need to lose 3st 4lb but if I break it down into chewable chunks I'M PRACTICALLY THERE GUYS. Nearly BMI 28 and just overweight.

I didn't weigh myself properly at the start of this, but I think I'm about 5 and a half stone down now. So more than halfway.

My next mini goal is to be a size 16 by Christmas. I'm wearing 18 jeans from Tu now and could probably size down, but I have size 16s in my wardrobe that still don't fit. I would like them to be fitting by Christmas.

Edited

Oh I'm with you on the mental gymnastics!! I've managed to get below pre-baby weight but my bmi is 36 something so I wasn't particularly small then!

However, I am less than a stone from the weight I was at when I went to slimming world before I got married so I feel like I'm really getting back to old me! (Even if it's fat me!) I tried on a denim skirt I wore on honeymoon and it zipped up, didn't look good but it bloody zipped up!

This week will be 6 months in for me (I started 30th May), can't wait to see me in 6 months 🎉

Focusispower · 23/11/2025 22:38

It’s interesting to hear that lots of folks feel calmer on MJ. I like the feeling of control but I think it makes me a bit anxious and flat. I do also have HRT to start next cycle as at 45 I think I’m also experiencing peri right now. So irritable all the time.

HappyWineDay · 23/11/2025 23:59

So, I started on mj in June (obviously) and have always wondered what people meant by “sulphur burps”, as I’d never experienced it. Nine days ago I moved up to 10mg. Yesterday - oh my goodness. Every three minutes I was burping rotten eggs. Sunday night and it hasn’t let up. Sunday night quiz at the local and people were saying “can you smell drains?”
This has to stop!

MissMogs · 24/11/2025 06:49

MissMogs · 22/11/2025 07:39

Hooray! I had a whoosh! Several weeks of barely any change and this morning I was 1.5kg lower than yesterday!?!! I’m gonna take it. And with that I’ve reached my halfway point. 23% of my weight gone! I can’t believe it. BMI is still 32.3 and I need to lose another 24kg to even be at the top of a healthy weight range, but considering my BMI was over 40 when I started, I am beyond pleased with where I’m at now already. Still only dropped one dress size though…!

Reader, 1kg of this went back on over the next 2 days… 😑

Had you previously removed any liquid from this pen with a syringe, or have you always used it as normal via the clicks/plunger?

Sogfree · 24/11/2025 10:51

Because I'm short and mixed race, my BMI is still overweight.

I'm currently 9st10. I'm absolutely chuffed with this. But still overweight!

Onward and downward.

Crinklecat · 24/11/2025 10:55

@HappyWineDay i took about 2mg out with a syringe to top up my golden dose of the last pen, do you think that’s caused it? So annoyed with myself!

RussianDoll76 · 24/11/2025 12:19

Oh ffs I’m 11 stone again …… 😠
Damn that 3lbs
Have had ds off school all week poorly then I caught it Friday onwards so not really left the house and for the first time since I started I’ve had a weekend of unhealthy food . Still have good suppression but still managed to shovel it in. So yep 3lbs on .
Out all morning catching up on jobs got some healthy choices in . Now to tackle the house while chucking down some h20 and get my mojo back .

NSV did see my ds in town we’ve not seen each other for a few months she was very shocked at the difference in me and said I look wonderful . Considering I am very pasty faced have a crusty nose and bloodshot eyes I’m very happy with that. 😂

Definitely. What happens with using a syringe is that when you pull out the fluid, it "sucks" the black plunger down the pen. However, the rod that normally pushes the plunger stays where it is, if that makes sense. So if you then try to use the pen normally, the first part of the injection is just the rod catching up with the plunger.
The way to get round it is to fit a needle to the pen, hold it vertically, and do a few clicks at a time until the rod catches up and you get a tiny drop of liquid out of the needle. Then remove and bin the needle, and the pen should be good to go again.
It does sound like that is what you did, so I'm not sure why you got that first "easy" push, unless you hadn't actually got the rod back in the right place. Maybe that first drip was a false alarm and you weren't actually primed.
The other alternative is to use syringes for the rest of that pen.

Crinklecat · 24/11/2025 14:22

@HappyWineDay of course that makes sense! I thought as the grey bit moved it was ok, I’ll do another 2mg now to make up for that gap. Thank you

RussianDoll76 · 25/11/2025 08:37

@HappyWineDay
how are the sulphur burps going ? They sound awful . Hope you’ve managed to get them under control .

RussianDoll76 · 25/11/2025 08:42

@RatherTardy
I was worried about re ordering as I had stockpiled. I panic ordered 2 7.5mg pens last week but was sure they would t be agreed as I hadn’t ordered with that company for several months and had ordered 5mg pens from them. I was expecting a stream of questions and picture requests and I didn’t get anything at all. They are being delivered today. So I’m safe for now until feb / March I think.
I used planet pharmacy and it was £400 for the 2 which I think isn’t bad compared to some of the others my friend just ordered a 5mg from chequp it was £200 . It’s mad how varied the prices have become.

CreepingCrone · 25/11/2025 09:22

Hey all, I'm back after my 4 week plateau.
Sw 16st 1lb
Cw: 12st 13lb
Gw: 11st 7lb
Current BMI: 29.1
Delighted to say I'm overweight! No longer obese. Can't believe it! Such a NSV 😁
Can now comfortably wear sz14s, treated myself to some DMs on Vinted (as their clothes sizing has gone to sh1t)
For the first time, my goal.seems achieveable. 1st 6lbs to go. However long it takes 😊

Crinklecat · 25/11/2025 12:18

@HappyWineDay do you think it’s something you ate? Sounds awful

You are my people. All these little wins that other people wouldn't understand.

Very well done on your progress so far.

Does anyone know why it is so important to drink loads of water? I am finding it harder in the winter.

Because Mounjaro can dehydrate you. I don’t know the full science. Water intake is also important in weight loss as often we think we are hungry when we are actually thirsty.

I drink sugar free squash which helps get a load into me.

Water aids in the breakdown of fat.

The process of metabolizing fat is called lipolysis. The first step of this process is hydrolysis, which occurs when water molecules interact with triglycerides (fats) to create glycerol and fatty acids.

Drinking enough water is essential for burning off fat from food and drink, as well as stored fat.

A mini-reviewTrusted Source from 2016 found that increased water intake led to increased lipolysis and a loss of fat in animal studies.

Additionally, if you are dehydrated, your body hangs onto the water it does have - you bloat, which makes you heavier and bigger.

How much water should I drink each day?

Find out more about how much fluid the body needs every day, how the body balances its fluid, and more.

Thanks for the new thread!

HappyWineDay · 25/11/2025 23:57

Thanks @RussianDoll76 and @Crinklecat , the burps have settled down now, but goodness me it was awful - for everyone! I inject on a Friday and I had the burps over the weekend. I don’t think I ate anything different to usual. However, it was only my second 10mg dose so I wonder if it was something to do with that.
I guess we’ll see next weekend after the next 10mg…

Thank you for this info! I didn’t know this at all and used a syringe to take 2mg from my 5mg pen last week to top up my golden dose from my 7.5mg pen which I hadn’t done before… I think I want to stay on 7.5mg so might need to use syringe extraction for this 5mg pen it sounds like. I’ll have to make a decision tomorrow either way!

Has anyone tried alternating 7.5mg and 5mg each week? I didn’t get much suppression on 5mg but also should be moving to maintenance soon.

I’ve lost suppression on 5mg so going to move up to 6mg from a 7.5mg pen (48clicks) but currently doing 5mg every 6 days to get my jab day back to a Sunday. Also need to increase my fluid intake!
