I also agree that I feel much calmer and more in control - it's not just food noise that's gone. HRT has helped with that too. It's only now I am more in myself again that I realise just how bad my mental health has been, between about 2020 and 2024.
I'm going to whisper this, and I'm certainly not calling the bear era over yet, but I weighed myself this morning and I an 16 stone 4lbs. I was 16st 10lbs on Monday. And I've been swinging up and down - mostly up - around 16st 10lbs for the whole of November.
At the start of the week I felt really bloated, this morning it's like someone's put a pin in my belly. It's quite a disgusting sight, as it goes. A hard fat tummy is infinitely better, visually, than the jelly that's there today. HOWEVER. There is less of the jelly. We will take this.
The only material difference between this week and last week, food-wise, is I have increased my water intake. It really makes a massive difference. HUGE.
And now join me in my weight loss mental gymnastics... I am now a mere 1st 5lb away from being 14st 13lbs, and 14st 13lbs has the same first number as my trigger weight for, Bloozie, you need to lose some WEIGHT. A weight I feel good at, is just over 13 stone. Which is still obese in terms of BMI, but you can see my hip bones and (faintly) my ribs at that weight and I don't find it hard to maintain, so we ignore BMI. ANYWAY. Disciplined me used to take action if the scales tipped 14 stone AND I'm only 1st 5lb away from being in the old me range of normal.
OK, it's the very higher end of old me normal. But shush.
Which is a very long-winded way of saying I still need to lose 3st 4lb but if I break it down into chewable chunks I'M PRACTICALLY THERE GUYS. Nearly BMI 28 and just overweight.
I didn't weigh myself properly at the start of this, but I think I'm about 5 and a half stone down now. So more than halfway.
My next mini goal is to be a size 16 by Christmas. I'm wearing 18 jeans from Tu now and could probably size down, but I have size 16s in my wardrobe that still don't fit. I would like them to be fitting by Christmas.
