Aw!

Thanks for the birthday wishes, guys 😘😘😘

I've had an AMAZING birthday.

My headteacher (I'm not 12... I work in a school) said to me today "RatherTardy, you've lost sooooo much weight!"
I said "respected boss, I've been losing weight for a year!"

She said "I mean from last week".

I have had a good week (salad season, innit!) and lost a couple of lb. But given the comments this week, it seems it's tipped a balance, because I've had SOOOOO many comments the last 3 days.

@MissMogs I'm 56. Definite turkey neck, and not great upper arms.
But the upper arms are getting less bad as I lose. I also exercise a lot, and use weights where I can.

I feel bad saying this, but i have a colleague who I absolutely love n adore, she's fantastic.
She's a couple of years older than me, and big. She got bigger over covid, (as did i) but hasn't lost it (for understandable reasons, she's had ill parents, and lost one. A lot going on).
I think she's actually gained. Anyway, 3 of us were talking about upper arms, and hers are bad.
And (omg!) of the 3 of us older and bigger ladies, mine were the best (😲😲😲😲)
But i think that's because of the 3 of us, I exercise regularly the most.

Nearly at goal here - a stubborn half a stone that won't go. But I refuse to go past 7.5mg as it's too expensive now.

My issue is that I've just done my weights session. I was doing press-ups in my sports bra and pants and made the mistake of looking down my body.

Argh.

All that skin hanging down on my legs and belly. My boobs looked like udders. I've aged 20 years. Must keep upright and dressed!!!!

never felt so seen! 😆😆
In terms of cost, have you exhausted all the pharmacies’ new customer offers? I have a code for £100 off Numan if you haven’t used them before x

Glad it's not just me!

I'm going through the codes still - it's still blummin expensive!

Just re-read your original message and shame on me for just noticing your comment about your body (because it was written to be funny and relatable!) but skipping past the bit where you said you’d noticed this WHILST DOING PRESS-UPS!!! Bloody hell. Fuck the udders, you rock!! Awesome! Go you! 💪💪💪

HappyWineDay · 12/06/2026 07:15

My DW says the back of my thighs and bum are saggy and wrinkly now. Apparently my Speedo days are long gone and it’s now baggy shorts for the holidays 😂

Nomorechocs · 13/06/2026 13:31

One year for me today and I’ve hit the 6 stone lost mark.
Cost me £1434 so far.

ihavetocookagain · 14/06/2026 16:59

Turns out everyone in my village appears to be in Mounjaro. Spoke to one lady yesterday who’s bmi is 26 (I think she said 26, was definitely under 30 I thought it had to be) and is being prescribed it off licence hinting it was for the anti inflammatory properties for her arthritis using med express I think. Didn’t even know that was a thing!

Hi everyone 👋 checking in after a difficult few weeks 😢 after getting to goal weight i decided to taper off and took my last dose 6 weeks ago. In the last 2 weeks I have had so many negative symptoms return. Digestive issues including food intolerances back after a year of stability, same with foot pain, plus i've gained around half a stone mostly from water/inflammation 😫 i think i just came off too early, i should have lost an extra few pounds to anticipate the water regain and taken longer before tapering off.

I'm annoyed at myself but I think I'm going to reorder and get back on for a couple of months at least. This is much worse than I expected and i think i need a better exit strategy. I hope everyone else is doing ok wherever you are in your journeys ❤️

Aw that sounds rough. What did you do about tapering down?

I only got as high as 5mg so dropped down to 2.5mg over a few weeks then pretty much stopped. I massively underestimated how much effect I was still getting at 2.5mg though so next time will have a different strategy

ShesRunningOutTheDoor · 14/06/2026 21:01

This is my body now - BMI 19.4
i am totally bored of the skinny comments. MIL really pissed me off today. I’m fit with excellent endurance and good strength. Dear mumsnetters am I too thin. Age 46

I really don’t think I am. You can quite clearly see my chubby stomach!! Ps really not trying to lose anymore weight either.

Have you thought about microdosing for the benefits of anti inflammatory properties of MJ? Maybe restart and then taper down and see how you are on 1.25mg?

Thanks and I think this is a good suggestion. Does anyone know which providers support ordering at longer intervals which would happen if microdosing?

im with Swift doctor who seem quite good but I’m not in maintenance yet. On the mounjaromaintenanceuk thread on Reddit everyone loves pharmulous and recommend a consultation (think you get the money off your next pens but check) with Dr Mel. People either pcos at least have said this service is good. You could just reach out to a few a sound them out.

I'm with Juniper and they will allow buying every 8 weeks and have told me they support extending the time between doses into maintenance (therefore further extending the gap between purchases).

I have a £75 off voucher for them if you need it.

@ShesRunningOutTheDoor i don’t think you’re too skinny, you look great and healthy. I do think when people are used to seeing us so big they forget what normal looks like on us. I’ve lost 5 1/2 stone and people always telling me they think I’m at goal despite my bmi still being 28!

Crinklecat · 19/06/2026 09:56

Also an unexpected side effect of losing weight…. Bikini line being visible when in a swimming costume. I’ve never had to worry too much about stray pubes as my fat squished around my bikini line, however on the beach recently realised my bikini line is now in clear view 😅

That’s so funny, I’ve been noticing the same! Haven’t bothered with that area for ages, but now that and my hairy inner thighs are visible! Not sure a wax is a good idea with all this loose skin though…

Crinklecat · 19/06/2026 12:10

@MissMogs i get waxed and it’s fine, you just help them pull the skin tight

ShesRunningOutTheDoor · 19/06/2026 14:22

is anyone else getting loads of passive aggressive ‘too skinny’ comments.
anyway, I posted my current body above! No reassuring replies. And then I asked chat gpt after posting the same photo there, the bot reassured me I look fit and within normal weight and I should answer such comments with:
“I’m actually in the healthy range for my height, and I’m feeling fit and well.”
i wouldn’t actually answer like this as it’s a bit twat like but it’s given me some ideas for next time.

ShesRunningOutTheDoor · 19/06/2026 14:33

Sorry just read @Crinklecat ’s reply xx

I think you look great! I’m not getting ‘too thin’ comments and anyone that mentions my weight loss is doing it in a ‘you look great!’ way, but although I’m now in healthy metrics across the board, I’m still carrying across tummy and arms, so don’t look skinny.
I think when loss has been significant, it takes a while for people to see you as you now, rather than thinking back to your previous size if that makes sense?
People meeting you for the first time are far more likely to think ‘fit and health’ as they’ve never known you any other way.
You’ve done brilliantly and should be very proud of yourself.

RussianDoll76 · 20/06/2026 16:12

So after no movement weight wise for ages and being 9stone 9lbs for months, so giving up on goal weight of 9st 7lbs ( original goal 10stone) and starting maintenance by moving down it then it started shifting again but it’s still shifting I’m now 9stone 4lbs . That’s about 5lbs lost in 6 weeks ! I’m now down from 10mg to 4mg (easing down to 2.5 from 5 slowly) weight still moving . I can only put it down to a new very energetic job . 🤔. I am
only now on the healthy bmi section by a few ounces actually 😂. Yet I get people telling me all the time I have gone to far . So I have an eating disorder? . I look to skinny ! Too old! Learning to block it out and listen to me . People get used to us looking a certain way and it definitely affects people . I have lost someone who I thought was a very dear friend because she said and I quote “ All she does is wear tiny clothes and struts around like she’s something special.”
😂 I wear smaller clothes because well I have to . I wasn’t aware of a strut but it maybe I’m not as slow as I used to be . It’s not sass it’s speed 😂😂
