@MissMogs I got it all the time whilst on MJ. I put it down to low blood sugar but I have a tendency towards low blood pressure too. It’s stopped now I’ve stopped taking it.

Crinklecat · 12/02/2026 08:56

@MissMogs yes also here very often. I’ve had to sit down a few times as thought I might actually faint (and I’m not a fainter). Also guessing blood pressure (which is usually lower rather than high) and blood sugar

thank you for making us all smile @Bloozie

I think I’m finally back on track! Officially lost over 4 and a half stone now and a couple of pounds off just being overweight not obese! Original goal was 5 stone but I may carry on and see. I am a bit saggy/ wrinkly though….

Glad to know it’s not just me! Yes it feels like I might faint. Kind of darkness coming in around eyes. I try to sit down too!
well done on your loss!

@MissMogs I've had this on and off and would say it's definitely blood sugar. I have used a continuous blood sugar monitor a few times, of the type diabetics sometimes use (stuck on the back of my arm), and it was regularly flagging up a warning of low sugar. It was actually really interesting to see that even immediately after eating, there was hardly any spike. No wonder they use Mounjaro to treat diabetes.

That’s very interesting to hear. Does this mean I need to “treat” myself by eating sugary foods…??

@HappyWineDay @MissMogs

Something similar I’ve noticed a few times on Mounjaro: if I (accidentally) go too long without food, especially if I’ve been walking a lot, and then finally sit down and eat something, it can take quite a while e.g. 15 minutes or more for that “low blood sugar” feeling to subside. Feels very strange and quite unpleasant!

Pre-Mounjaro, having something to eat in that situation would bring almost immediate relief from that jangly nerves feeling.

ToddlerMumma · 12/02/2026 21:09

When (or if) have you contacted your GP about any weight related medication you were on? I am on statins and blood pressure meds but i guess I need to review these now I’ve lost the weight?

😂 That would be nice, wouldn't it!

HappyWineDay · 13/02/2026 08:15

Here's a snapshot of my glucose readings. It has a 24-hour scale, with readings for 14 days put onto the graph. You can see the level hardly rises above 4.0 at any time, but there are quite a lot of readings that fall just below 3.0 (shown as red dots), particularly in the evening and overnight. This was all recorded with a Libre device.

HappyWineDay · 13/02/2026 08:17

I'll try again...

And here's another interesting graph. It shows median glucose over the period to be 3.9 on the first chart, then the episodes of low glucose (between 3.9 and 3.0) on the second chart. I think this demonstrates how tightly the mounjaro controls blood glucose.

I had my first ever cholesterol check at work a few weeks ago and all the markers were within normal range. I put that down to the weight I've lost and the healthy diet I've been following since I started. That's low carb, by the way, not low fat.
With blood pressure, mine was high when I started this journey, back in June last year - 150/95. I measured it myself with my own machine. My OH gave me a choice - start BP medication or lose weight. I chose the latter and now my BMI is just in the healthy range. I check my BP weekly and this morning it was 122/75.
I say all this not for praise, but to demonstrate that if you've lost weight then there's a good chance that your health markers can return to a healthy range without medication. Having said that, the trigger for offering statins seems to get lowered on a weekly basis, to such an extent that as you get older it's almost inevitable you'll be offered them at some point!
So yes, I would suggest that going to your GP for a review is a good idea. You don't want BP meds to be lowering your BP to such an extent that you risk fainting.

MissMogs · 13/02/2026 08:45

For those on BP meds - I was too. I randomly checked my BP at home before Xmas and it was on the lower side of normal so I contacted my GP to ask about stopping. They made me do the twice daily readings for a week before agreeing. Then they did a follow up a month later with the same twice daily readings for a week. Once satisfied those were also normal, they were happy for me to stay off. I wish whoever holds the purse strings in the NHS would realise that making WLIs more widely available would save money on lots of other medications! Let alone other health-related costs! When I asked my GP about WLIs before I started, they basically said I was pre-diabetic and had to wait to develop diabetes before I could be referred for them on NHS. And then there’d be a wait list. In the meantime I’d use NHS resources to manage the diabetes. It makes no sense!
I did have a high cholesterol reading before starting all this too, but no meds, just a leaflet about lifestyle and diet changes. I’d really like to know if my reading has improved, but not sure if they’d just do me a blood test on demand, as it’s not linked to medication?

HappyWineDay · 13/02/2026 09:46

@MissMogs that's brilliant to hear that you too have got your BP in the normal range through losing weight. I believe you are able to have your cholesterol checked at your GP surgery, either on its own or as part of an NHS health check, if you are over 40. Best to ring your surgery.
WLIs are saving the NHS a lot of money, undoubtedly. It's pretty grotesque that the policy is to wait until you do actually develop diabetes before they will provide treatment. The cynic in me says their reluctance to spend money on making them more widely available may stem from the fact that so many of us are prepared to struggle ourselves to pay for them privately

MsRinky · 13/02/2026 11:41

I should dig out my BP monitor. I've already had my BP medication dosage reduced since I started losing weight, but haven't checked it in a while, and now I am teetering on the precipice of merely being overweight rather than obese. BMI this morning 30.1...

flameprincess · 15/02/2026 16:32

I've finally made the move (for financial reasons) from Mounjaro to Wegovy. Went from 7.5mg to 1mg WeGovy on advice from Bolt. The appetite supression on WeGovy has really knocked me sideways and had a lot more nausea so hoping I just get used to it. Its a low dose but a new medication after all.

On another note my Mum has been prescribed Mounjaro on NHS after enquiring about it (she had never heard of it but her being diabetic and meeting the other criteria I told her about it) She's only been on for 2 months and already been able to completely come off her insulin and is a lot more active.

AmberLime · 15/02/2026 18:06

As in, its very high suppression? Or very low? I keep thinking of changing.

Bloozie · 15/02/2026 20:40

2 years ago my blood pressure was 140/90 and my GP prescribed 5mg of Candesartan.

Over the last couple of months I have been struggling with feeling extremely tired, unmotivated, unable to concentrate and occasionally dizzy. I told my GP, did the home monitoring and my BP was low - often 94/57 and similar.

I have been told to take 2.5mg of Candesartan for the next 6 weeks, then do another week of twice weekly testing. If my BP is still this low, I can come off the drug.

This is very exciting.

Its been very high, not what I expected at all. Probably because it is a new medication to my body.

It's gone quiet on here. Here's my updates: I'm only overweight! BMI under 30 for the first time since the 90s. Wearing size 12 jeans today, hard denim not super stretchy ones! Deadlifted my own bodyweight this morning! And my mate won the by-election, so today is a very good day indeed.

Well done!! BMI is indeed mad if you’re a size 12 and only just into the overweight category!!
excellent news about your mate too!

MsRinky · 27/02/2026 11:55

Yes, it is a bit mad, I'm only short as well. Lead bones? My grandad, god love him, used to say his side of the family were all built like pit ponies - short and sturdy! It's why I think I'm only ultimately aiming for BMI 25, but I'll see when (not if) I get there...

healthjourney · 28/02/2026 09:42

@MsRinkywell done! Those are great wins, especially the deadlift pb 💪

I've not posted in ages but I'm still here and slowly making progress. This week I have hit a healthy bmi of 24.9 for the first time ever. I dont think ive been a healthy weight since childhood. Just a few more pounds to go until target then I'll start to titrate down and focus on maintenance. I also bought a pair of size 10 trousers yesterday which blew my mind a bit!
Does anyone else get random weeks when the same dose seems to hit much stronger? I know I took my normal 5mg this week but it's hit me so hard all week it's really strange.
I hope everyone else is doing well and having a good weekend 😊

HappyWineDay · 28/02/2026 11:24

It has been a bit quiet on here of late!

Ive decided I’ve finally reached goal. I started at 16stone. My DW took my blood pressure one morning and it was around 150/90. She gave me a choice, go see the Dr and get BP meds or lose weight. I opted for the latter and here I am.

Yesterday I was 11st 10lb. That’s over 4stone and over 25% body weight loss. My BMI is now around 24 but I look a bit skinny!
Most importantly my BP is now around 120/70.

This week I moved down from 10mg to 8.75mg which I’ll stick with for at least a month before stepping down again. I’ll be doing this slowly and carefully monitoring my weight. I’m NOT putting this back on this time.

This group has been great, a tremendously supportive place.
