Also haven't posted in a while. All weights approximate... ;-)

SW - Somewhere between 21 and 22 stone. I didn't weigh myself until a fair few weeks in.
CW - 15 stone 3lb last time I weighed (a week ago today)
GW - Was originally 14 stone, but I feel like I have a LOT more than a stone to lose. We shall see.
Current dose - 5mg. No intention of increasing.
Current dress size - 16 in most things except the size 16 jeans I bought from Sainsburys in the sale at Christmas, which still won't zip up over my jelly belly despite the fact that the identical pair I owned before are size 18 and hang off me.
Side effects - none, except...
Hair loss - absolutely horrific. Trying to hold my nerve.
Loose skin watch - tummy and inner thighs are crepey but I have seen and was expecting worse. Side note - I like seeing women with saggy post-WLI bodies on TikTok promoting Halara leggings. The videos both present a useful solution and also make me feel very proud on their behalf - the skin is a badge of honour that says, I'm healthier now.
General spirits - high. I'm back in the game after Christmas.
Future plans - I have between 4 and 6 5mg doses of my current 10mg pen left, depending on whether the golden dose plays nicely. I will decide then whether to titrate down to 2.5mg for the rest of the journey.

Hello, I keep missing this group and haven’t posted for a while. I started at the end of May and used to frequent both groups. I’m 2lbs off being four stones down, and I’m just squeezing into size 14 jeans. I still have at least 2 stones to go. It’s been pretty slow over the past month or so, but my mum died and I had other stuff to deal with. I feel like I’m back in the room again. I still haven’t got much suppression at all and have a lot of food noise. I’m having to rely on willpower a lot too. I’m about to go up to a 12,5 pen. I’ve been injecting half doses every four days for the past three months, but it hasn’t changed anything. I have two 12.5 pens and a 15 left (plus a 2.5 that I thought I’d use for coming off). Once they are done I’m ditching the MJ. I do t think it has enough effect on me to justify the cost. Hopefully by then I’ll only be a stone away from goal at most and I can do that myself.🤞

Dellabella83 · 02/02/2026 21:30

I’ve broken two barriers today! 5 stone loss and finally out of the obese bmi (just.. at 29.9!) feel like my two month slump is over, been back on it this week and feeling better for it. Next barrier to break is to get out of the 14’s (currently 14st 1 so hoping it can happen in next two/three weeks)

BadgerFace · 03/02/2026 06:16

Sorry for your loss @Gingercar. That is a lot to be dealing with.

congrats on your continued losses everyone, there are some incredible stories here, you are all doing amazingly well!

I seem to have slipped into eating a lot of treats so need to have a word with myself although I am limiting going out so think I am plateauing by doing a mostly dry Jan. I’ve got one more pen to go and I’m then going to have a month’s break with the intention of maybe using my spare pen when I get back from holiday after Easter. Although part of me thinks I should just titrate to 2.5mg and then stay there. My friend who introduced me to MJ has been doing 2.5mg every two weeks for six months after reaching goal weight and that is working well for her.

@Blooziewell done on your amazing progress!
I know your pain with the hair loss, it’s a high price to pay even though the other WLI benefits are so good! Similar to you, I’ve lost 6 and a bit stone since June so that is a lot for the body to adjust to.
I’m now taking marine collagen (superself brand) and biotin (incite brand) both from Amazon. These have really helped. I’ve been on them for 3 months now and the hair regrowth is noticeable around the hairline, so even though these are short hairs and the overall volume has yet to grow back, it looks much better. I didn’t think I’d need to take supplements as I have a good diet but these have worked.
Good luck with your ongoing progress!

nailslikeknives · 03/02/2026 09:22

Could someone pls remind me of the body moisturiser that’s good for crepey skin?
Was it Nivea?
TIA

ChiaraMontague · 03/02/2026 10:12

I’m finding that I only really get nausea when I get my period. It makes it really hard to want to eat anything, I often end up snacking on fruit most of the time. My periods have always been bad and since starting MJ a lot of other symptoms have got better (eg the incredibly heavy bleeding stopped from month 1!) but it means that I really notice the tiredness, nausea and lack of appetite/food aversion instead.
Has anyone else had any changes like this?

I already take marine collagen and thought I had biotin in my multivit, but I do not, so I have ordered - thank you so much!

Glad your little fuzzy duck hairs are coming back. 😄

I changed to Wegovy when the price of Mounjaro shot up. Suppression ok but I quite like having to force myself through some hunger pains as I feel it’s helping prepare me for life beyond. My weight loss has slowed and I’m able to eat fairly normally if appropriate but then I have to cut right back to get the pounds off again. My starting BMI was 30. I’m now at 23. I want to get to 22 then ease off but I am anxious about it. I’m spacing my doses out by a few days each time. I was on 5mg of Mounjaro, transferred to 1mg of Wegovy. No side effects and nice not to have the sore and itchy jab site from Mounjaro. I’m 71 by the way. Hope this helps.

Thanks for this @Maryb54 it's really helpful. It's so hard to know what's best.

I could go back down to 5mg Mounjaro and see how that goes.

I'm also thinking about life beyond. Fighting through natural hunger is a good way to start I guess.

A lot to consider! I just know I never want to be overweight again. I love everything about being (almost) a healthy weight. Especially the health benefits.

People have said I don't need to lose anymore. "Look at your legs..." type comments! I'm only just a size 12 so I do not have skinny legs and I live in trousers so... 🤔

Crinklecat · 04/02/2026 19:31

Great to hear everyone’s progress. After a bumpy month I seem to be back on track. Nearly 4 and a half stone gone and can’t believe I let myself get as big as I did. Without MJ I’d probably still be slowly gaining

June 2025 starters- Mounjaro (thread 6)
Librariesrule · 05/02/2026 07:38

Another 3lb gone.
SW 24.June 16st 11lb
CW 5.Feb 13st 7lb
Total loss 3st 4lb
No GW set, I am seeing a difference now, am resisting buying too many new clothes. Using my wardrobe as a shop and rediscovering lots of clothes I forgot I had.

MsRinky · 05/02/2026 09:57

After about 8 months in I have just gone up to 7.5mg. Want to get another 15kg off I think, but may reassess when I get there. I know other people have had bigger and faster losses (mine averages out to 0.4kg a week which is less than a pound a week) but I've improved my ratio of muscle to fat, still enjoy cooking and eating and haven't had any major side effects or hair loss yet, so am content enough to take it slow.

Focusispower · 05/02/2026 11:35

@Bloozie my hair loss has been terrible too. My hair has always been so shiny and now it’s thin and dry. I’ve started taking biotin and vitamin D as mine was 0.1 above the minimum level considered normal. My iron is similar - normal but not optimal. I’m hoping it will make a difference!

It’s interesting @MsRinky as I took it really slowly too, never went above 2.5mg and haven’t lost muscle. Yet my hair is dropping out. It’s making me think it’s Vit D and peri over MJ….

well done to all those losing. I am still maintaining without MJ. A couple of lbs heavier but that seems to come and go but I think I’m pretty stable at the moment. adjusting to HRT is what is now kicking my butt.

Bloozie · 05/02/2026 12:00

@Focusispower I'm really annoyed about my hair as it was for the first time in maybe my whole life looking thick and healthy and GOOD. And now it's like yours - thin and dry. I've been taking good quality collagen and vitamin D for ages - the amount of supplements I take is unreal - but just started biotin on the advice of nailslikeknives, as it's a gap in my multivitamin profile that can be plugged. Like you though, I fear that peri-men is playing a part.

I am so pleased to hear that you are maintaining without MJ. Please stay on this thread and help reassure us that the regain isn't inevitable.

I feel like I'm in a good groove with MJ now and I just need to keep eating the way I am and the weight will come off, so am focusing on exercise, which I've been a bit slack on. I have undoubtedly eaten some muscle. I do a pilates class each week - mat-based - and have just signed up for Reformer pilates, and I've started mat practice at home. Basically all I want to do is small controlled movements and stretches ;-) But Reformer is more increased resistance and strength based so it ticks that box. Cardio... I need it to stop raining most urgently as my fast walks are NOT happening. I'm so busy with work that I need stuff to be effortless and it is an effort doing anything in this weather.

Yes, that's an excuse. No, I don't care. I need less stress in my life, not more.

ihavetocookagain · 05/02/2026 20:08

Pre MJ start BMI 38.3 (effing hell!!)
MJ BMI 32.6
C BMI 26.8
G bmi 24.9!!! 11lbs to go
I’ve lost 4.75 stone in 2.5yrs.

Everyone has done brilliantly well.
I was looking at my Shotsy graph and I wonder why I increased my dose when I did. I have consistently lost and a lot faster than I am at the moment so must have felt hungry/food noise and not liked it. I am losing just under 1lb per week, and I was loosing about 1.3lb per week before! Current dose 6.25mg - I know, but 7.5mg made me feel properly dreadful. Sticking with this dose in the hopes I can move down to 5mg for maintenance. I know food noise will come back but I have to get it under control at some point!
Hair thinning- doctor did run bloods but just said it’s the MJ! The bloods did identify some other stuff, one of which she is trying to blame on MJ also (vit b12 deficiency!)
Clothes wise, I’m a size 14 and thrilled! Not been a 14 for over a decade and when I was I thought I was massive! Trying to wear proper clothes more instead of oversized hoodies- but they are so comfy! Had to buy some new jeans and PJs because I don’t own belts!! You’d think my bras would be too big, but no, I’ve taken off the bra extenders and they still fit and are still just as uncomfortable! Oh for perky bosoms that don’t need scaffolding to hold them up. (My went straight to sag even as a teen since the grew so damn big and fast!)
I’m kind of ok at my current size so if I don’t loose anymore I’d be satisfied. I’m never going to get down to a size 10 and I think I’d look bloody awful with wrinkles and sagging skin if I did, my skin is old and lost its elasticity! 😜
Also, I am constantly cold, more so than before when I was always cold!! I need layers on (my big baggy hoodies coming in useful to put over the extra layers!!)

SomethingAboutYou · 06/02/2026 11:57

Love these updates 🥰 it's so nice to hear the positives!

I too love my baggy hoodie @ihavetocookagain I can even wear it over my normal jumper now when I need to stand next to a football pitch watching my children play in the freezing cold 😂 keeps me nice and warm!

My hair has thinned over the last 3 years and I've only been on MJ since 30th May! I defo think perimenopause has a lot to answer for. My cheeks have hollowed (despite still being 5 stone overweight) which I think has more to do with age than MJ. I lost a similar amount of weight after baby no.1 and my cheeks were still plump, but I was early 30s then and I'm in my 40s now. I've just started taking collagen along with my various vitamins to see if it helps a bit.

I've only lost .4bs this week which is disapointing but I am excersising consistently which I hope means I'm building muscle. I did find the weight dropped off quicker when not strength training but my bum started looking a bit pancakey so will take the slow loss if it genuinely is because I'm retaining/building muscle. I'm back to tracking food carefully to make sure I'm not overeating, which I used to do whenever I exercised, like a reward 🤦‍♀️

SecretIrnBruDrinker · 06/02/2026 13:14

Really downhearted as having hit 11st 1.6 early last week, I was hoping to see something starting with a 10 soon (need to be 10st exactly to be the correct BMI) but it just crept back slowly back up to 11st 4something ... until this morning where the period from hell has taken me back to 11st 1lb exactly.

I'm still on 5mg and have one whole and one half pen left. I don't know whether to stay on 5mg until I lose the final stone (from 15st 8) and then go on to 2.5 for a pen or two - or to start dropping now.

I’m the same weight I was a month ago, just gaining and losing the same couple of pounds each day. I’m not unhappy with that as I’ve not been counting calories and eating (and drinking) has slipped. I’ve been on 7.5mg a week but last night after wine I decided to jab a day early (forgetting I’d jabbed a day late last week so actually 2 days early) and upped to 9.5mg. Feeling ok so far so will see. I’ve got a lot going on in the next couple of weeks so was planning on focusing on my weight after that but after ordering a takeaway last night (and having a McDonald’s breakfast!) I decided I wasting too much money on food when that’s been my justification for MJ. I’m still 4 stone down so still chuffed with progress.

im still having allergic reactions at the injection sites, nothing to do with the wipe. Comes up a day or 2 after, red itchy patch about 10p size or bigger. Problem is it stays for weeks so I’m looking a bit polka dot. I rotate sites and makes no difference. Tried antihistamines. Any suggestions?

Hi, slowly catching up with posts. I suffer from the injection site blotch too. My provider suggested a longer needle and that broadly works .. not always though!

Crinklecat · 08/02/2026 21:36

@Foreveronaplane thank you, I had read that before. I’ve just ordered some 8mm needles and will see if that helps

SunandMoor · 09/02/2026 09:09

Hi I haven’t posted in a while good luck to everyone. I am 3st down and have another 1stone at least to lose to get inside a healthy BMI. I have pretty much stabilised this last month and keep losing and gaining the same 1lb! So frustrating. I have decided to up dose to 7.5 to give myself a kick start. Need to track calories as I have let that fall by the wayside and exercise has been rubbish too!! On the Biotin I can recommend nutrition geeks their tablets are tiny and I have been using them from the start. So far so good on the hair loss.

MissMogs · 09/02/2026 14:51

Just checking in. I’m 32kg down now (5 stone). BMI still 29 as I’m short! Size 16 (down from 20-22). I reckon I’ll be in the top of a healthy range in another 2.5-3 stone. Strange how that feels do-able now!
I’ve also had some hair loss - noticeable when washing hair mostly as much more hair on my hands or around the plug. I’m also using Nutrition Geeks collagen but not sure if it’s doing anything!

Some NSVs...

The bastard size 16 jeans I bought at Christmas finally fit. (They are simply a size down of the exact same size 18s that were/are hanging off me and fall down without a belt - they should have fit in December!) They aren't comfortable. I wore them all morning and just admitted defeat and took them off. Really tight around top of thigh/arse (and they are palazzo style so shouldn't be). However. THEY FASTENED!

A colleague quietly complimented me on my weight loss the other day and said, the way you carry yourself has completely changed. This was a big deal for me as walking like a fat person was something I have always been the most upset about. I was never bothered about being very overweight. Not really. Take me as you find me, I carry weight quite deceptively and dress well for it, no one would have believed I weighed as much as I did. But I did hate my fat lady rolling gait. It has apparently gone. Hoorah!

My weight loss has slowed as I am upping my exercise. I am enjoying the new muscles I can feel and I can see that my shape is still changing - I'm happy to lose inches not pounds. Weight is coming off from the top down. Cheeks and shoulders are quite scrawny, stomach and thighs are still magnificently, gloriously, softly abundant. Ah, the joys of being a woman. I am wildly stressed at work, cortisol is sky high, sleep is shite - let my poor beleaguered body enjoy the illusion it can hold onto those reserves, I will get around to the fuckers in the end...

I have enjoyed your post more than anything I’ve read on my weight loss ‘journey’. Thank you for making me laugh out loud and think ‘sod it’ to the carrot cake slice I ate by mistake this afternoon.

MissMogs · 11/02/2026 21:04

Has anyone experienced light headedness/dizziness when standing up from sitting or lying down? It’s been going on for a while. Google suggests it’s a postural related low blood pressure. Which is strange considering before I lost the weight I was taking medication for high blood pressure! It suggests it could be caused by low blood sugar too. I just wondered if it could be related to the MJ as that controls blood sugar? The only sugar I’m consuming is in fruit (whole/raw). Not eating sweets/cakes/biscuits now (very very rarely). I’m thinking of speaking to the GP, but just wondered if anyone had had similar?

also loved @Blooziepost!!

Gingercar · 11/02/2026 21:32

Yes I loved Bloozie’s post too. It’s (not) funny how one size of the same pair of jeans can be falling off but the next size down cuts you in half!
