Oh that’s interesting @HeidiLite I have b12 deficiency too. I always thought it was a combo of being vegetarian and having heavy periods. But now I’m thinking maybe not. I wonder if there is a link between digestive function, GLP stuff and vitamin absorption rates?

HeidiLite · 04/12/2025 13:54

I have Mirena so no periods. And while I don't eat red meat, I do eat chicken.
ANd there may be link, absorption or conversion maybe (not a scientist).

For example, I'm also hypermobile and there are a few studies showing that a large number of mypermobile people have a gene mutation that reduces folate metabolism, meaning we are deficient even when folate intake is high. There could be similar mechanisms with other stuff?

I am so surprised that I have lost this week. I have been out to eat a couple of times. I am doing my strength conditioning so maybe it's to do with that?
I am continuing to jab 5mg every 10 days rather than every week.
Good luck to everyone weighing and jabbing xxx

Zempy · 04/12/2025 17:41

I’m also hyper mobile with long term Vit B12 deficiency, so nothing to do with MJ.

I use a daily B12 and D3 mouth spray.

MJalltheway · 04/12/2025 19:28

waves also hypermobile with pernicious anaemia. I'm usually permanently exhausted but have never felt better since being on MJ.

now, who was it who bought an Oodie coat? Can't stop thinking about buying one now in this horrible miserable weather - should I?!

Jins · 04/12/2025 19:35

It was me @MJalltheway. You won’t regret getting an oodie coat. There are quite a few colourways reduced at the moment.

Thelittlestranger · 04/12/2025 19:36

I'm not hyper mobile, but my iron levels were declared low by the NHS and I was given iron to take. Went to a consultant who said that as a woman of my age (late 40s) who had, had three children, my iron was only low by the recently lowered NHS guidelines and in her opinion, I was totally normal. I was delighted, because iron tablets bung me up. I didn't have symptoms of aneamia, so I stopped taking them.

I have a 3 day weekend and I am delighted. I'm done with work for this year - I need it to end.

Aimingdown · 04/12/2025 19:43

Awesome @BreezyPeer ! 🎉

HeidiLite · 04/12/2025 20:12

you must be feeling fabulous @BreezyPeer !

For supplements, I woke up one morning and had 0 energy. Nothing. Couldn't get of the sofa. All D, B12 and iron were too low and luckily I felt miles better quite soon after I started supplementing. But now I don't know which one it was that made me feel like death warmed up, so I'm not going to stop the supplements, just in case. Luckily no side effects.

MJalltheway · 04/12/2025 21:21

Oodie coat ordered! Just needed a little nudge😂
I'm making really good progress on my Christmas shopping for me 😂. Nothing for 2 of my children yet (but they will probably decide they want cash anyway...)

Not sure how I'm feeling about having 2 chocolate calendars, it's more chocolate than I've had all year so far! I can see how it seems really innocuous but it could be a slippery slope. Determined to keep a tight rein on it around Christmas.

meatyryvita · 04/12/2025 21:56

Evening losers! Did my weigh in today and I lost .2 of a lb - I’ve had a hungry week and so I was pleasantly surprised by that tbh.

SW 15.10
CW 10.12.1
GW ca. 10

Still on 2.4 mg of Wegovy and having decent suppression, not as strong as MJ but I’m happy as it’s pushing me to be a more conscious eater.

Bonne Maman calendar is still bringing joy - the cherry and violet jam today was incredible! Very much looking forward to next Monday when it’s milk chocolate and salted butter!

Work Christmas party next week and I’ve just been told that casual dress simply won’t do! I’ve order some Gustavo trousers from Sezane that I can at least wear with flats and will see what fancy tops I have that still fit to whatever degree.

Very jealous of your three day weekend @Thelittlestranger !

With you on the supplements @HeidiLite - I guzzle five each morning and won’t stop.

Amazing job @BreezyPeer - what an achievement. You must have felt so good seeing that number on the scale!

Take care losers x

Well done @MJalltheway. What colour did you go for? I got the khaki/khaki one as it looked inoffensive and I didn’t expect to wear it that often but I wish I’d gone for the black/leopard or black/bright pink now. There just isn’t room for a second one in the coat cupboard.

just returned from picking DS2 up from work and prowling the shelf of shame for yellow stickered delights and made the mistake of trying on the F&F dupe of the Ugg Tasman and OMG I don’t think I’ve ever put anything more comfortable on my feet. I didn’t buy them but heavy hints are being dropped

2025istheyeari · 05/12/2025 06:17

Morning losers!

well done @BreezyPeerand @meatyryvita!!!!

enjoy the party @meaty,trousers sound wonderful, I love Sezanne!

I know what you mean about a slippery slope @MJallthewayI think I need to rethink my jab schedule as I’ve struggled a bit over the past couple of weeks to be honest, good days, bad days but no consistency and yesterday I just ate rubbish which I haven’t done for months. It’s been a tough week but that’s no excuse, I even had a small glass of baileys last night for no reason and after reading @HeidiLitecalorie info too, what is wrong with me!!

off into London today to see if we can get into the ROH Live at lunch, have never been to an opera or live ballet and this seems like a good first go with it being free but let’s see how busy it is! I’m going to jab before and I’m now on a mission before I go away. I feel a bit more flabby, not sure how but scales have been up and down like a yoyo. Posting here for accountability!!

@Polkadotdashhope you’re ok and that supplements help, I love Oxford blue cheese too!

Have a great day all.

HeidiLite · 05/12/2025 06:31

I have no issues polishing off a full bottle of Baileys overa few days. I may reconsider this year.

BlueLimes · 05/12/2025 07:03

I’ve been having a few Celebration chocolates every day. I think I’m ok with staying the same until January now.
@BreezyPeer @meatyryvita amazing ! 🤩
enjoy London @2025istheyeari
@Polkadotdash the Oxford posts are very memory provoking. They had good chips in the place that used up sell pies 😂

I take b12
pumpkin seed capsule
Biotin
collagen
a multi vitamin.

BlueLimes · 05/12/2025 07:04

@HeidiLite trying to think of a low cal drink - may Aperol spritz ??

BlueLimes · 05/12/2025 07:06

Sorry I keep missing posts.

@Jins thats really poor medical communication skills - I’d be furious. I hope you get the results and a plan soon.

HeidiLite · 05/12/2025 07:15

no no there are rules. Aperol is to be consumed in the summer, outdoors, in the sunshine. Preferably in Italy.
Although I did have a nice champagne based cocktail in Sweden with cranberry and rosemary, that tasted very wintery. Will find some options.

Are you crazy ? Aperol is so nice - must be drank at every opportunity 😀

I think there is a winter version though which you might consider?

meatyryvita · 05/12/2025 07:22

Maybe a sea breeze? Cranberry and vodka I think.

BlueLimes · 05/12/2025 07:23

Looked it up - cranberry juice with a wedge of orange. Possibly worth a try?

Thelittlestranger · 05/12/2025 07:36

Champagne is good on the calories and feels like a nice drink....

HeidiLite · 05/12/2025 07:41

went down the rabbit hole a bit and checked the calories in some traditional Xmas foods. If you want to enjoy the festivities, I recommend you don't check that. 😂

MJalltheway · 05/12/2025 07:56

Raspberry gin with elderflower presse is my favourite (apart from baileys and other creamy drinks!) this time of year. I bought an amazing sticky toffee rum last year but I haven't drunk any of it cos I couldn't figure out what to mix it with.

@Jins i went for the black/pink combo in S/M so hopefully not too massive!

weigh in day today..
SW 101kg
CW 71.2kg
GW 70kg

Still furtling up and down the same 0.5 kg for the last couple of weeks. Expect this might be the case until after Christmas now!

Jins · 05/12/2025 08:05

As I haven’t calorie counted for decades I’m officially blown away by the calories in baileys. Despite having the sweetest tooth imaginable when it comes to alcohol I’ve only ever had one sip of baileys and it was too creamy for me.

I’ve woken this morning with that wonderful day after jab feeling of not wanting anything to eat. It’s very liberating. The fridge is full and people can fend for themselves.

DH is off to visit his mother this morning but the utility room has now been painted and I’m starting the unenviable task of sorting the cupboards which are crammed with stuff from FIL and MILs houses (one each). They both seemed to be obsessed with purchasing cleaning products although rarely using them and I brought them all back when we emptied the houses. I’ll never need to buy another tea towel but there are things I’ll never use and it’s time to find a new home for them
