Checking in. I’m in maintenance, went back to 5mg from 7.5mg and things were steady until this week when I had a whoosh and lost 4lbs but it’s brought me to a BMI of 20.2 so I’m at the stage where I need to think how I wean myself off, probably have to go down a bit and space them out over say 10 days. I also realised I had more pens than I thought in the fridge, enough to last me a year at current dose so my bank balance will be pleased 😂

I’m in 2 minds if I jab today and then wait 10 days which takes me to just before the Christmas party at work or do I just wait until this Wednesday (10 days) and jab again and see how I get on. I suppose this time of year is ideal to see how things fair.

@Jins I’m so sorry about your brother. I know it’s easier said than done but you need to try and be positive. Just being there will help, especially when he gets his results. Whatever he says, don’t let him go alone.

Jins · 30/11/2025 11:54

Thanks again all. @MisseyLurker he’s a stubborn bugger and we’ll let him go to the scan alone but my niece will be there for results and will call me if needed.

in other, rather better news I weighed in this morning at 8st 10.4 which is bang in the middle of revised goal. There’s still capacity to lose more but I’m happy at this weight (finally!) so I’ll aim to maintain now and hope my skin catches up

Jins · 30/11/2025 12:24

And the weirdest NSV to date. I’m wearing a pair of old joggers because they are thick and warm but they are a generous size 12 and huge. DS2 challenged me to get in one leg….

Easy!

2025istheyeari · 30/11/2025 12:34

Sorry for all my typos 🫣

ooh @BlueLimes, more beauty stuff🤣sounds great! Amazing on the weight loss too🎉, well done you!

@Jinsand @MisseyLurkerbrilliant losses too, wow! Like you say, Christmas will be a good test! See how you feel maybe over next couple of days. If you don’t need to lose anymore maybe it’ll be nice not to have super high suppression for the party so you can have fun?!
hilarious on the joggers Jins, have a vision of you hopping along in one legged joggers 🤣.

Polkadotdash · 30/11/2025 14:43

@BlueLimes you are VERY brave going to Bicester on a Saturday in the run up to Christmas. I came through Marylebone on Thursday last week and the Bicester train had just come in. I’d never seen so much shopping!
I’m suffering from a lack of energy this weekend and there is so much to do. My bones hurt, particularly my ribs and back. I don’t know if it’s hysterectomy related or something else. I need to keep lying down to recover from the most basic of tasks like putting the washing on. Not sure if I should make a GP appointment as it just sounds a bit pathetic to say ‘I’m tired and a weakling’. My DH said to me (blissful in his ignorance of the MULTI MILLION POUND meno industry) ‘Are there any menopause supplements you could try taking to see if that helps?’ 😆

CurlsandCurves · 30/11/2025 17:34

Afternoon all,

@Jinssorry to hear about your brother, it must be hard. Love the size 12 joggers challenge!

@BlueLimesmy stomach is the last place it’s going as well. But looking at really old photos of me, no matter how slim I’ve been I have always had a tummy, even pre kids. I just need to make peace with it.

Guys I have been soooo ill with a ‘tummy bug’ to put it politely. Thought it was just a 24 hour thing last week, stupidly went back into work the following day despite still feeling terrible. Hit a wall on Friday ended up having to leave work. Still living on Hobnobs and water. Even the smell of proper food cooking makes me feel ill. Dh and ds2 are ordering a curry tonight- feel sick at the thought!

So I’ve missed my jab last week and there’s no way I’m jabbing tomorrow. Hopefully next week I’ll be ok so I think I’ll split the dose to ease myself back onto it.

Ugh, I’m just so sick of feeling sick! And having no energy, I want to feel lively again!

DGonMJ · 30/11/2025 18:29

@Polkadotdash does sound like you should make an appointment with GP, preferably one who is meno-friendly.

@PenelopesProteinPackedPartyhooray for another 1lb off, the new dose must be doing its magic. But also enjoying food. I feel like this is the balance we need to find.

@Jins fingers crossed you get to switch the heating on soon. Glad to hear your brother has his daughter around for support, and that she’s resilient enough to handle it.

@MisseyLurker well done on maintenance, 4lb is a big woosh, are you going down to 2.5mg from 5 or slower than that? Or just spacing out?

@2025istheyearisounds like a very lovely day. That menu looks delicious!

@BlueLimes congrats on hitting the 3 stone loss marker 🏅

@HeidiLite thanks for the suggestion, his older brother already has a meta quest and it’s not something he’s ever asked to borrow! I’ll keep thinking.

So far today, I’ve checked one of the Xmas present deliveries. I need to check the rest.
I feel like I’ve been good at resisting buying myself more stuff in the BF sales.

The tree is up, lit and baubled, the stair bannister is garlanded.

Lasagne is in the oven, and I’ve just taken out a pecan pie.

I jabbed 2.5mg early this morning, weight is 58.2kg and lower than I thought after a gym session and being hungry all day yesterday. I have 2 bonus doses left in this pen then I move to one of the 2.5mg pens that have been in the fridge since October.

I keep reading articles about experts advising to come off MJ having learned new habits…but I don’t think I was in ‘bad habit’ territory to begin with - perhaps I’m eating a lot more home cooked food now, maybe a little less chocolate as I don’t crave it as much. But I know that I couldn’t eat a slice of lasagne and a small portion of pecan pie and be this weight normally. Maybe because I’d want to have a second helping of both?

Jins · 30/11/2025 19:11

The heating is on!!!!

The kitchen is unusable but at least the house is warm

HeidiLite · 30/11/2025 19:57

@DGonMJ what about experiences? Flight stimulator, racing car?

But yes boys are difficult.

HeidiLite · 30/11/2025 20:00

oh and yes I agree with the habits, I've always eaten healthy food, I've always worked out, it's not like I've done 180 in my habits. Yes I have sigificantly reduced alcohol consumption, but I was not a heavy drinker before either, that certainly won't make this much of a difference. But I was eating a bit much and it's not that easy to go through life constantly restricting myself from eating. I'm not really sure how to 'learn' not to crave food.

meatyryvita · 30/11/2025 21:18

Zempy · 29/11/2025 07:32

I hope you survived the night @myladyjane?

Weighed in after a week with no scales and I have lost a pound somehow. Despite eating biscuits and cake I am 8:4.

This puts me in a good position going into the festive season.

Have a great weekend Losers.

@Jins sorry to hear about your brother and I hope that you had a lovely restorative evening to recharge your batteries a bit.

All good here. I have had a busy weekend of decorating. We did an extension a couple of years ago and have rested on our laurels since - we spent all we had on the build and so are only just getting around to finishing it off. I painted the lounge and it looks lovely and fresh. I also tarted up the landing area where kids hand prints and general grubiness had made it look a bit rubbish. Feeling happy to have got it all done but very tired. Nearly 20k steps each day too!

I hope everyone had as a peaceful weekend and an end of the year break to look forward to x

@Zempy not sure how I quoted you there! Glad the scales behaved x

We have found the poltergeist bite pic!

t thought it had gone long ago. Cropped version attached. It’s about 5cm across the width.

meatyryvita · 01/12/2025 09:25

@Jins wowee! That looks painful. How long did it last?

OP posts:
HeidiLite · 01/12/2025 09:37

so does Poltergeist bite have any other side effects, like vampire ones?

Jins · 01/12/2025 09:43

@meatyryvita it wasn’t painful at all but it lasted over a week. As a complete paranormal sceptic I did look at what it could be and the closest was a vascular flare but the symptoms didn’t really fit and I’ve never had a similar mark there or anywhere else on my body.

The other possibility was a pressure mark from a bag strap, seat belt or similar but that would have been on the other side.

I showed the pic to the people running the tour the following day and they got very excited and showed me pics of similar marks but I’m still putting it down to coincidence. Interestingly the guide we had on the ghost tour on Saturday was telling everyone that you have to sign a disclaimer for the Edinburgh tour now. 🤣

Jins · 01/12/2025 09:45

HeidiLite · 01/12/2025 09:37

so does Poltergeist bite have any other side effects, like vampire ones?

Quite possibly. Fifteen or so years later and yesterday I broke a glass so obviously my transformation into a poltergeist has started 🤣

myladyjane · 01/12/2025 18:28

Had my drs appointment today re hrt. Interesting - she was impressed with the loss, v happy with my blood pressure (down from ‘we really need to talk medication’ to right slap bang in the middle of normal) and said she’d heard great things about long term benefits and with my family diabetes history said it really sounded like the right thing. We talked about mj/hrt and the concerns which had been raised. I was going to get the oral progesterone because I’m progesterone sensitive but she had concerns on that approach when combined with the mj so we’re trialing patches with a view to swapping if I need to. So overall good appointment

That sounds great @myladyjane, weight loss and massive health benefits! Bet you feel great.

@Jinsthat’s bizarre, I’m not a believer but how odd, and a bit unsettling!!

CurlsandCurves · 02/12/2025 08:55

@Jins wow, that’s very weird, the ‘bite’, never heard of that before. But good luck on your impending transformation!

@myladyjane congrats on your appointment, all sounds really positive. You should be really proud of yourself.

Finally, finally, I feel relatively back to normal after just over a week of feeling absolutely dreadful. I would not wish that bug on my worst enemy. I could jab today, a day late but I think my body needs a good rest so I’m leaving it till next week now. I’m sure some of this will go back on but in the last 2 weeks I’ve lost about 11 lb.

Back to work today, can’t wait to get out beyond these 4 walls!

2025istheyeari · 02/12/2025 09:58

Glad you’re on the mend @CurlsandCurves, that was some awful bug you had! Think you’re right leaving jabbing. Take it easy and hope you’re soon back to full strength.

i can’t believe it’s December! What’s everyone planning over Christmas, jabbing as normal or taking a break? We’re away so won’t be eating Christmas food and I’m planning on jabbing this Friday then 10 days later on 17th and that’ll be the last one until the new year. I’m finding 10 days between is working quite well, I had what I wanted at the weekend including wine and put a couple of pounds on, but back to eating ‘normally’ again and one has already gone. I’ll be really happy if I can do what I always said I would and relax at the weekends. I think I’ve given up for now trying to lose another 3 pounds to get me to 6 stone, my BMI is 22.3 and I’m happy with that!!

have a great day, so lovely here after the dank day yesterday!

PenelopesProteinPackedParty · 02/12/2025 11:48

Morning.

Nothing interesting to report here, all I seem to be doing is working, will cut back in the New Year. No progress on moving either.

Pleased you're ok @CurlsandCurves , that sounds grim.

🎄is up, DS excelled himself by finishing a small glass of sherry during the process.

I'm just carrying on as normal schedule wise @2025istheyeari , I might cut back to 6.25mg this week and next week as I am away a fair bit and felt ok on that dose and then just stick with that until after Christmas. I have no appetite for treats or drinks (twiglets aside) so fingers crossed.

Zempy · 02/12/2025 12:52

I’m also on 6.25 and planning on keeping that dose weekly until the new year.

If I have a stable weight I will titrate down and if I have a Christmas gain I will increase a little until that’s gone.

Jins · 02/12/2025 13:30

Not planning to change my dose much this season. The last dose I took was 5.8 and I’ll drop that down to 5 and see how that suits. At least I now know that I can deal with a small gain with a dose adjustment.

Nothing exciting to report except I managed to pick up a second hand Miele vacuum to replace the one DS1 broke recently. I don’t need it really but I’ve got about five year supply of bags and filters so for £40 I grabbed it

HeidiLite · 02/12/2025 15:48

I'm on 2.5 and not planning to skip or change over Xmas. Considering it builds up, I think I would need to skip a few weeks before it's mostly out of the system so it would make a difference.
