Oh dear, just weighed in and I seem to be plateauing a bit. Remind me, please, that this is normal and necessary!

V normal! And same here, keen not to increase MJ dose unnecessarily though so going back to basics at the moment and seeing if that helps, I’ve definitely had more treats/rubbish this month. You’ve got this.

jaelato1 · 12/01/2026 14:38

@Shitzngiggles Well done for getting back intothe gym, the endorphins you get from exercising is so amazing. I dont even know what being in 9st feels like as I havent been that weight since adulthood. I am 1lb away from being in the 10s and I cannot wait lol.

@Clumsykitten Absofuckinglutely normal and annoying but it is our body trying to catch up with the new weight loss, so it's her way of saying...Hang on a effing minute and let me catch up :). One thing that helped me break mine was narrowing my eating windows to 6hrs a day e.g 12- 6pm, so more food after 6pm.

Thanks @jaelato1! I think I have to also accept I’ve been a little more lax with treats etc since Xmas. Not a catastrophe. I’m going to stick with my dose as I don’t want to go up if I don’t need to.

narcASD · 12/01/2026 21:56

@Clumsykitten definitely normal and bloody frustrating! I plateaued For almost 5 weeks, it's only been the last 10 days that I've started to lose and had a a 5.5lb loss, keep going.

@Shitzngiggleswow the closest I've ever been to 9st was when I was a teenager! What a feeling eh!

I read somewhere today that it's 39 days until the mornings get lighter, usually I'd be dreading the spring and summer, this year I'm determined to enjoy it and not be a sweaty hot mess with nothing to wear.

@Meandmypoochhere here to being back on track, it's nice to see us all encouraging each other on. Remember when we started and were wondering if we could do it, we are and we are smashing it!

PfizerFan · 13/01/2026 11:34

Urgh, vomiting and diarrhoea all night! Think i'll be going back to 5mg next week...

I'm trying to kid myself it's food poisoning but the sulphur burps and the fact it started 48 hours after my first 7.5mg dose suggests probably otherwise..!

jaelato1 · 13/01/2026 12:44

@PfizerFan oh no! hope you feeling a bit better now. Might be best to gently ease your way up to 7.5mg

OP posts:
putthehamsterbackinitscage · 13/01/2026 15:18

@PfizerFanDefinitely worth easing up rather than just diving in at 7.5.

Going up gradually was working great till this week I went to 7 from 6.25 - too much of a jump so dropping back to 6.25 or 6.5 next time…

Seemed ok day 1 but then stomach cramps day 2, stomach cramps and fatigue on day 3…

I’m hoping it’ll improve from tomorrow as Shotsy graph says I’m now over the peak for this week and levels dropping.

Does anyone have any advice about reducing the time between doses rather than going up a dose?

StrongLikeMamma · 13/01/2026 21:42

I’m a bit confused about Shotsy
why when I did a 3mg on Sunday, is it now telling me my level is 3.66mg?

This is because you would already have some medication in your system so it has built up. It will come down about 0.2mg a day I think (IIRC) so after the next dose you'll be even higher. I cant remember the exact figures as havent paid much attention to mine recently as for some reason it only will show my exact level for the current day. I think there has been an update on my app as I used to be able to click along the line to see the exact numbers.

I'm considering doing this as well. The suppression isn't as strong as it was and I'm reluctant to go up a dose. I'm on 5mg. Jab day is Thursday and I was a bit hungry today.

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 14/01/2026 11:22

@Clumsykitten I have been doing a mix of 5 or 6 days and gradually increasing doses to try to get more balanced levels.

i found in a 7 day cycle that by day 5 suppression was worn off and just increasing dose leads to a high spike then drop and more side effects so I started taking doses a day or 2 early around events like eating out over Christmas.

the guidance it’s to leave at least 4 days between doses but that you can jab early to change days etc and as the medication has a half life of 5 days that is why the effects seem to wear off. I can’t remember the source now but I also saw a paper that suggested the weekly jab cycle was more about ease of compliance for patients rather than medicinal need. Eg once weekly being more memorable and easier to plan.

what I finding is that the 5/6 days is ok, I just need to keep the increases very gradual or side effects kick in.

Its very much been trial and error for me but 5 days and stay at a lower dose seems a good balance.

Elliebearblues · 14/01/2026 18:28

@StrongLikeMamma How is the suppression on 3.75?

@jaelato1 thats brilliant whenever I tried couch25k (tried a few times over the years) a few weeks later my knees would start hurting even when I walked so have come to the realisation running is not for me , I’ll stick to weight training I think lol.

@Shitzngiggles I got back into the gym this morning after over a month off due to a busy December and not having the time .. I definitely have to go more now… I hope the DOMS are not to bad for me tomorrow 🙈 I can’t imagine getting into the 9 stone bracket I don’t think I’ve been that for 16years since I got married …

@PfizerFan oh noo hope your feeling better what triggered it do you know?

I’m debating whether to go up to 6.25mg next week, I’ve been on 5mg for 8 weeks now and have noticed portions are creeping back up and some of the food noise is back. I did lose 1.2lbs last week even whilst eating McDonald’s, chippy chips and the twins birthday cake so can’t be all bad , but I do definitely want more suppression .. I think 7.5mg will be too much for me so I’ll ease in gently.

i would have done it Friday this week but it’s my birthday Saturday and don’t want to be poorly as when I went up to 5mg I had diarrhoea, stomach cramps and suffer burps so definitely don’t want a poorly birthday weekend.

Also on a positive note I told my sister I was on the jabs… she has a few times in a family messenger group make jokes and memes about people on Mounjaro and I’ve got upset .. not that she knew, but I took it personal and to heart so didn’t want to tell family then incase they were against it.
Well yesterday she went back to weight watchers and she said she really needed to get back on track and lose weight and I just casualty mentioned oh I’m on the jabs, been on them since October… I think I shocked myself as I didn’t intend to tell her .. she was just curious asking if I have side effects and went on to tell me about someone in work being on them.. all quite positive really. It was a huge relief to tell her as friends know and I felt like it was a big secret.

Anyway enough or me rattling on, Hope everyone has a great week x

Clumsykitten · 14/01/2026 19:35

Sorry to hear that @PfizerFan - sounds horrible and a bit like what I had when I went up to 5mg.

Thanks @putthehamsterbackinitscage - that’s really helpful. Might try a 6 day next…

StrongLikeMamma · 14/01/2026 20:10

@Elliebearbluessuppression is ok 3.75 but not really feeling that different. I’ll see if I’ve lost anything by Sunday pm then maybe go up to 5 if I haven’t broken the plateau

I didn’t feel anything of 2.5 or 3.75. Definitely did on 5mg though. Good luck xx

I felt extremely fatigued at the start of 2.5. So was nervous of jumping up straight to 5mg
But then I’ve done 12 jabs of 2.5 so maybe the 5 is what I need to get the suppression back more strongly.
Will see how the week goes 🤷🏻‍♀️

jaelato1 · 15/01/2026 12:39

@Elliebearblues Thanks! I have started weight lifting as well this year, our body burn more calories with weight lifting. Ah good you were able to have a positive discussion with your sis about MJ.

Why is the last pound before a new stone bracket so hard to lose,I have been rollicking around the 1lbs for 2 weeks now. It's like my body knows and it’s being vindictive 😂

Arrrgh so annoying! You’ll get there.

I find if I weigh myself after the gym I often weigh a bit more from water retention / muscle inflammation etc but if will go down a couple of days later.

Saw a 2lb drop this morning on the week so am happy with that ☺️

cheekysausage123 · 17/01/2026 09:00

How’s everyone doing? Stuck at a pretty solid plateau here but struggling to know whether to ride it out, think it may be time to increase to 7.5mg but have just had another 5mg delivered. I’m going to focus on water, fibre and moving more this week.

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 17/01/2026 10:33

I’ve done 6mg this week as 7 was too strong. Weight is now solidly at 2st loss in 12 weeks - and if I take morning weight as my lowest rather than at night, almost 30 lbs.

it has slowed down in the last week or so but I’m now close ish to target and mid healthy bmi so I’m not concerned and may even stop trying to lose before I get to target…. Just want to get back in the jeans I was wearing in 2021…..

I need to work out what maintenance will look like and what level will keep me on track but allow a good diet to offset activity as well now I’m back to running 5k non stop.

Shitzngiggles · 17/01/2026 14:25

I'm steadily losing 1lb a week. 12lbs to goal. Still on 5mg. Getting a few cravings and feeling a bit hungrier than I have been. Been managing to resist though, usually grab an apple which does the trick. Still contemplating going up to 7.5mg but a bit nervous about side effects, although overall haven't been that bothered by them at all.
