Morning all…

@Elliebearbluesit sounds like you’ve had a very hectic time and done really well to keep things under control! It’s good to hear you seem to be ok with less side effects now too.

Its been a mixed week for me - weight and jabs are all good but family member has been referred for Parkinson’s screening, and has other potential health issues so a lot on my mind. And the weather means I’ve not been running or walking as much as usual too so less outlet for stress.

I weighed this morning and now 2 stone lost since starting Mj. I am amazed how well it is working - I know would not be saying this without it. I now have 10lbs to target, so aiming to be there late March.

I’m jabbing every 5/6 days but haven’t moved up to a full dose from 7.5 mg as suppression is good and side effects are mild. This seems to work well for me in terms of losing as a couple of days without suppression would probably mean putting back losses from the other 5 days as my tdee to lose 1lb is 1133 according to Loseit app and that is based on being moderately active.

@StrongLikeMamma - it’s horrible isn’t it? I can only suggest enough water, and more rennie. I take an omeprazole sometimes too.

It’s weird because I’ve hardly had any side effects. But I think I’ve started to eat more towards the end of the week as suppression wears off. It’s back again this evening 🙄

I’m going to try going up a little bit tomorrow, as it’s jab day and bought my first 5mg. Will try somewhere in between.

I found going up to 5mg too much… but 3.75mg was quite a good compromise

That’s what I’m thinking.

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 10/01/2026 22:22

I would probably opt for 3.75 if I was going that step up again. And, probably do that at least twice before moving up.

I went up to 5mg after golden dose of about 3 mg and it was a massive change. The first two weeks I had to have an afternoon nap on days 2-3 which I managed to cover off as I wfh. I carried on at 5mg and it did improve weeks 3 and 4, as I adapted to it. I then did golden dose again of 6mg but since that have done a gradual increase of 6, 6.25 twice and next time I’ll probably do 6.5 from my 7.5 pen. Suppression is quite strong so meals are very small portions but I have no real side effects other than that provided I do eat and drink regularly.

That’s how I felt initially at 2.5 - thoroughly exhausted! This is why I don’t fancy jumping to double the dose immediately.

@Clumsykittenis 3.75mg 45 clicks?

@Clumsykittenis 3.75mg 45 clicks?

Yes - 45 clicks of a 5mg. My experience was like @putthehamsterbackinitscage but also horrendous diarrhoea which kept me up a lot of the next two nights. Felt awful. I keep wondering about going up to 5mg but I’m scared!

PfizerFan · 11/01/2026 07:58

Took my first 7.5mg last night... woken up so full and bloated! Hope that's the worst of the symptoms...

I’m not surprised!
I was wanting to stick on 2.5 but weight loss has definitely plateaued so going to try a notch up.

narcASD · 11/01/2026 10:00

Good morning everyone I have some great news!

After a month fluctuating between 13st & 12st13. I'm now finally 12.8 which means I've hit my 3st loss. Can't believe I've done it.

@PfizerFan I found the 7.5 definitely gives more side effects, mainly reflux & constipation 😩 I've done a month on it and will start on 10mg this Thursday, hoping to stay on 10mg for 2 months then start to taper down.

@StrongLikeMamma I plateaued for a month it was quite disheartening, but now I've seen a good loss of 6lb since Christmas so keep going, maybe going up to the 5 mg is the right time for you now.

PfizerFan · 11/01/2026 10:03

@narcASD 3 stone loss october?! Wow well done! Is that you at your target weight?

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 11/01/2026 11:02

Well done @narcASD that’s fantastic. Keep us posted on how the move up to 10 mg goes… it sounds like a huge number but I guess it’s only an increase of 1/3 so not as big a jump as the earlier doses.

Shitzngiggles · 11/01/2026 11:38

Well done @narcASD that's amazing.

narcASD · 11/01/2026 13:46

Thanks all, I'm so happy!
@PfizerFan yes 3st since October, well officially took my first jab on 26th September.
starting weight 15. 8lb
now 12.8
GW 10.7 but ideally 10
im only 5ft 4

Clumsykitten · 11/01/2026 14:01

Amazing @narcASD!

@StrongLikeMamma - I may need to go up to 5mg, but I’m going to stick at 3.75 as long as I can. I’m basically balancing off whether I’m actually able to lose weight still with side effects and also tbh the stronger the effect the more I worry about just rebounding. At the moment I definitely get a little suppression for at least half the week, I definitely get fuller a little quicker and feel rubbish if I eat too much, but I’m also still feeling hungry at times so I can build new habits. Obviously no good if I really do plateau for too many weeks.

Clumsykitten · 11/01/2026 14:02

I just had a nice pork steak and broccoli for lunch. I definitely would have had something less healthy before this!

Wow 3stone is amazing I’m only at a stone loss so far, I havnt been tracking my food or anything since starting though and weight training has been inconsistent.
im definitely upping my protein and going to start walking and weight training again lol I can’t complain as I am losing a healthy 1/2lb to 2lb most weeks xx

StrongLikeMamma · 11/01/2026 21:50

Have just jabbed number 13 - went up to 3.75. Hoping for a bit more suppression this week! 🤞

jaelato1 · 12/01/2026 08:32

Morning All..I did my first 5k run on saturday and I am very proud of myself because few weeks ago I couldn't manage to run for a minute.

@narcASD Amazing, well done

@StrongLikeMamma Well done to breaking the plateau

Praying for a good week for everyone :)

Shitzngiggles · 12/01/2026 08:53

Well done @jaelato1 its a great feeling isn't it? No more running for me unfortunately after having had both knees replaced.
Did my 1st gym session yesterday after many years of not going. Felt good to be back into it. Dd is a qualified PT so I get plenty of good advice.
Some great losses for us all now. I'm back in the 9s, never thought I'd see 9 stone something ever again at my age 😊. Looking forward to the next few months and seeing everyone's progress as we go into spring and summer.

Meandmypooch · 12/01/2026 10:58

Well done narcASD amazing!
My latest weigh in and another 1.6kg lost this week so back on track after a slow down over Christmas and the new year. 😀

Funnily enough I've been having pork chops with veg recently, the dog loves the bone and the fatty bits, shes not keen on the veg though! 😂

Clumsykitten · 12/01/2026 11:25

Oh dear, just weighed in and I seem to be plateauing a bit. Remind me, please, that this is normal and necessary!
