Hello everyone!
It’s been quite a while since I’ve been on here. Well done to you all for all the successes and perseverance through the ups and downs.
I have lost 1stone 6lbs since the start of October. I’ve just plateaued for a couple of weeks now though. I have been using 2.5mg up until now and I have just ordered a 5mg pen.
I’ll finish the one I have up to the end of the month and then give it a try.
Wishing everyone a Happy Christmas and a healthy and slim 2026!

@SexyFrenchDepression The app I used to log my food (mynetdiary) calculates my calories for me based on my setting of wanting to lose 2lbs a week and my latest weight but if type tdee calculator into Google, you'll find many sites that can give you guidelines.

Thanks, there are so many of them and they are all a bit differ, I cant seem to put in to lose 2lb on any of them as it puts me under 800 cals, I am managing to lose that much roughly each week on around 800-1100 calories though

SexyFrenchDepression · 17/12/2025 18:19

@jaelato1 mynetdiary has said 977 to lose 2lb a week, I reckon I am average slightly less than that so it seems ok. Myfitnesspal says 1200 which seems a lot, my PT when I was a few kg heavier said 1063 (bit also taking into account more exercise than I'm managing) so I think I know that MFP is not that accurate.

@StrongLikeMamma Have you re-calulated your tdee since losing weight? apparently our calorie intake is suppose to reduce as we lose weight. My new calorie intake is now 973 from 1200 based on current weight. If you are still within your deficit then it might be time to give your metabolism a reset.

I’m 1200 to lose 1.19lbs a week.
Have averaged between 800-1000 daily since oct.
i’ll give it to the end of this current pen then decide if it’s really a plateau.
I couldn’t eat much less without being really unhealthy/ unable to train.
Will up exercise in holiday and drink more wster!

jaelato1 · 17/12/2025 21:48

@SexyFrenchDepression I am also eating slightly less than recommended kj but I am not losing 2lb every week as per the scale but I know I'm losing weight.

@StrongLikeMamma I have also been gaining 1lb and losing it in the past 2 weeks hence why I started IF to reset. I don't trust my scales though because I placed 5kg dumbbell on it and it added extra 0.5kg.

@Rubiscoisfantastic I think our body has gotten used to our routine now so we are bound to hit that plateau sooner or later. I'm also going to up my dose to 3.75 next month.

My weight loss is definitely slowing down, this is week 7 for me, will see what happens on Saturday for end of week 7 but I would be happy with whatever at this stage really. I have read on one of the threads (maybe this one) re a poster who upped their calories quite a lot based on a recommendation and they have started losing again. I won't be logging calories xmas day and boxing day as I want to enjoy those days without worrying then will hopefully carry on as I am with a view to going to 5mg if need be in January to shift the last 1-1.5stone.

Moosey898 · 17/12/2025 22:10

Wow I feel so lucky with how much I can eat - I've been on 1800 calories and losing 1lb ish a week now (first month I wasn't counting but was eating less, I reckon around 1500-1600 and lost 2-4lbs a week). I am 5ft9, broad and muscular (gym goer for 6+ years lifting heavy weights) so my TDEE is a bit higher that way too!

My maintenance calories are around 2100, so once I get to my goal I'll be on that. Before I lost weight my maintenance was like 2500 🙀

My maintenance calories are only around 1500 so I dont think my cals are that low, I would be loaing on 1800, probably gaining 1lb+ a week.

My plan is to reverse diet once I'm at goal weight as there is no way I could eat so little without them straight away, so hopefully that will mean I can eventually stop the jabs, although its now something I am coming round to the idea of with regards to staying on it for maintenance to ensure the weight doesn't go back on, or at the least going slowly to come off it.

Elliebearblues · 18/12/2025 10:44

It’s oddly strange since being on these jabs I don’t fancy chocolate or even like it much now, I’m not snacking on crap as it’s not calling to me. We went out for my sons birthday yesterday evening and everyone had dessert expect me as I didn’t want any. I did have a nice glass of Rose though, I haven’t bought any chocolate for myself and hubby this year either normally we’d have at least 2 tubs of celebrations , roses or something similar x

StrongLikeMamma · 18/12/2025 13:15

I haven’t been craving sweet things or alcohol or food really in general. It’s definitely has a strong effect on me, hence staying on the 2.5mgs.

Need to increase my frequency of exercise next!

It’s funny chatting to DH about how I’m just not fussed about food anymore. We are both massively into cooking and entertaining. Lots of gatherings planned over the festive season - am stocking up on AF drinks here and tolerance for pissed people! 🤣

StrongLikeMamma · 18/12/2025 17:20

Re my last post - when i said it’s funny talking to DH (I didn't finish my thought 🙄) I was going to say - he’s considering jabs in January, and he is disturbed by the idea of not enjoying food. I’m trying to explain to him how it just doesn’t bother me. It’s so hard to explain to someone who hasn’t tried WLIs.

I was out with friends tonight and chatting about it. One friend said she just thinks about food all day, she is a little bit overweight but not much, the other 2 much the same, they all drink a lot also. Only one person said they never think about food and dont eat much at all, she is very slim, maybe a size 6 and always has been.

They weren't supposed to know, only one person in the group knew and was really drunk and told everyone by accident. They are people I trust so its all good.

narcASD · 19/12/2025 07:07

Ahhhhh weighed in and still 13.2 😩 which is week 3 of not moving in the scales, I know it’s not just about the scales but I’m fed up of seeing it not move downward 😡
rant over

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 19/12/2025 07:41

Wow…. Kept having a quick read of posts this week but not finding time to check in and actually post…. So much to catch up on properly …. Might take me the whole weekend!

@StrongLikeMamma I think for me it’s a bit more complex than not. Ring fussed about good. I really like nice good, at home and going out, but I don’t have an urge to snack or eat sugary stuff at all. I can still sit and read a menu an think something sounds great, order it and get say half way through, then I run out of steam and can’t finish the meal.

at home it’s easier as we are making much smaller portions and quite often don’t cook as my cars with meals. Would that make more sense to your DH?

im just coming up to 8 weeks from starting, I’m now 20 lbs down and it’s never been so easy to not over eat and drink… I probably could do with eating a little more but if I’m busy and not overly active I don’t get hungry during the day so I keep going on coffee till say 1 or 2 pm before I think to eat something for lunch.

I’m buying some Christmas snacks etc as DD will be here and doesn’t know we’re on jabs so there needs to be snacks for her and if there were none she would be suspicious…. But I can leave mince pies in the packet (buying mini ones!) the roses left from trick or treat are still on the coffee table and I can just ignore them.

i’ll read and post some more in a bit… Ocado are just at the door!

I your right on point there, I’m a foodie and hubby is. Hubby stays fit by walking back and fore to work and is ion his feet all day so easily racks up 20k steps a day. We even went to the doctor last year as he was slowly losing weight and they said it was because he so not eating enough calories. He’s put some back on now. But like you say I was nervous as I love food and still do but I’m not like oooo that’s chocolate or crisps are calling me, I can take it or leave it now. And obviously if I’m hungry I’ll eat x

Elliebearblues · 19/12/2025 08:13

Another loss this week 1.2lbs which in happy about. Especially as I chippy tea Saturday night , my wine on the weekend, and we went out for our son’s birthday Wednesday evening. I’m delaying my jab until sunda6 this week as I’m out with friends this evening for our annual Christmas meal and drinks so don’t want to be poorly x

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 19/12/2025 11:04

@Elliebearbluesthats great - things really seem to have settled down for you now. I think that’s a good plan to delay till after your dinner - I’ve been moving jabs around the last 2-3 weeks to make sure I’m at my lowest level possible each time we have a meal out too. This week (and last) I’m opting for bed time after our meals out so that’ll be tomorrow night, and I should be ok then for Christmas and Boxing Day too.

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 19/12/2025 11:05

@narcASDhang on in there… the scales will move eventually - and they are not going up!

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 19/12/2025 11:09

@StrongLikeMamma you’ll find if you are both on jabs, meals are much easier as you both will want the same healthier options and small portions. My DH started 2-3 weeks after me and it’s really helpful - no issues around secrecy or food choices at all 😃.

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 19/12/2025 11:23

@jaelato1I don’t fully trust my scales either as they can fluctuate in around 0.5 lb in 10 mins with no reason 1st thing in the morning but I do weigh often as they show patterns - I look at the trend graph and it generally shows around 2lb every 7 days even if an individual reading is not what I wanted to see.

This week I’ve also lapsed from recording food intake but I know I am roughly eating at the same level most days, and I find if I record then I get focussed on staying under target every day so it’s better not to know. My app says no more than about 860 calls to lose 2lbs which is way too low to eat properly as well, so I am trying to just make sure I eat something for lunch and dinner and then have protein shakes etc to top up protein where I can. Being short and small framed s and mid 50s means that the closer I get to target, the less calories there are to play with so it’s a case of making them count where possible.

i also find I’m hungrier on days when I exercise and allow some extra fuel for that - eg a banana before going for a run or similar.

We ear different foods usually anyway so not a worry. But it will be nice to feel he’s on the way to being more healthy to. We both had a similar amount to lose at my SW.
