Happy new year folks, hope you all had a decent one and was able to enjoy some treats with no guilt. Me? The treats went on for 6 days, no idea why I thought it was a good idea to have fish and chips on Xmas Eve. Then mini indulgences, the worst of which was scoffing an entire but smallish box of chox. Did wonder if it would result in the usual 3 month binge fest but think I'm back on track now.

Overall, I've lost a pound in 2 weeks (I'm ignoring pesky Xmas week gain!). I've not hit the 11's but that's ok as hit another significant goal today of a 4 and a half stone loss. This is a big one as it's the weight of some furniture I had to drag up the stairs singlehandedly a few years ago. I was aghast as I realised I was lugging that around with me all the time. Never ever thought I'd be able to shift it though, yet here I am - and here we all are, thank you 2025!

WinterOnItsWayOut · 01/01/2026 14:52

Happy New Year fellow April MJ’ers!

I haven’t posted for a while as have been bobbing around 10.3 to 10.5 for a few months now.

I’m still on 2.5mg which will run out in Jan so a little disconcerted that if I can only now maintain on 2.5, what will happen when it stops 😖. I think I’ll do 2.5mg this week and then go down to 1.25mg for as long as it lasts…

On the upside, by this time of winter I’d normally have gained about a stone and am 2.5 stone down from last winter so will take that as a win.

Gym/swimming is a priority for 2026 and I will now have more time for this from work changes so need to make it part of my new routine. Just need to pull my finger out and actually look at the gym timetable which has been on my list to do since before Xmas 🤔

Good luck to all of us in 2026 whether losing or maintaining. We’ve got this! 💪💪

lbnblbnb · 01/01/2026 22:16

I really get what some of you are saying about New Year’s - so many years I have been aiming to get fitter etc, then same goal next year…..
But this year, I am three stone down. I need to weigh and jab tomorrow. I began Couch to 5 K today, amazing how much easier it is when I have not hauling around all that extra weight. First day of Couch to Barbell tomorrow, going to alternate them.

Good luck everyone.

Pepperwaggytail · 02/01/2026 07:18

So amazing to hear that we’ve all only gained a couple of lb over the festive period and it’s been pretty guilt free. This is the first January I’ve not been investigating a new diet!

I had 4 medium glasses of red wine on NYE, over about 7 hours and had the mother of all hangovers yesterday so I’m feeling like dry(ish) January wouldn’t be a bad thing, but I’m generally drinking less so I’ll probably just go back to my usual MJ influenced not being really bothered anyway!

Good luck everyone in 2026, one of my NY resolutions is to get on our thread more as I do love everyone’s updates. You are all doing fantastically and a healthy body for all
of us is a whole lot closer than it was this time last year!!

Squiffy01 · 03/01/2026 13:24

Another one surprised I’m not making a resolution to lose weight. That has been it my entire life. I remember clearly thinking when I was 11 years old and writing it in my diary would this ever not be my resolution as even then it had been my top one for as long as I could remember.

I had a sneaky weigh this morning (after not weighing for two weeks on holiday) and I may have lost weight over Christmas 😮. My official weigh day isn’t until Thursday so might just be random and not officially the case but I shall take it while it lasts.

RhaenysRocks · 03/01/2026 20:44

I'm not doing a NY R but I am aiming to. Incorporate more exercise as we go through 2026. Not making specific targets or amounts just a general intention.

Uninvitedleaf · 04/01/2026 12:46

Happy New Year everyone! Like others I’m focussing on the difference from this time last year rather than stats over the last few weeks, as I’ve definitely been doing too much snacking. Also had friends round last night for a last holiday dinner and went a bit overboard, so I was expecting to see a gain for my weekly weigh in this morning. However I’m 1lb down this week (after going up last Sunday) so that’s pretty good - I think I’m down about 2-3lb overall in December which is excellent given the amount of socialising we’ve done!

I also need to establish better exercise habits so it will be good to hear how everyone saying the same gets on with that. I’ve signed up for a yoga class starting week after next and I’m going to take out a membership at the local council gym (they’re very good and do things like 6 week offers to get you into the habit of going) but I’m going to leave that a couple of weeks to let the post-Christmas rush die down a bit!

Just had my first shot of Wegovy, so will see how that goes. Pen and process almost exactly the same as Monjaro. Little bit of faff switching, insomuch as I'd bought an extra Monjaro pen before the hikes, and had been "counting the clicks", so there was a gap in ordering I had to explain. But ultimately it was fine and they signed me off for 2.4mg dose.

QS90 · 04/01/2026 22:32

My NYE is to get stronger and build muscle.

Oh please do keep updating us. For what it’s worth there’s a guy called Paddy (A Dose of Paddy) on Instagram who switched from MJ to W and he said it took about a month for W to feel like it was working. So he had a month of worrying and put on a bit of weight while he had a lot of food noise. Best of luck with it.

Im feeling a bit stressed out here on holiday that I’m not doing my daily weigh in. I know it’s a bit daft to worry and I can undo any weight gain when I get home, but I like the reassurance of checking in daily. The weathers been awful so we’ve been stuck inside for two days, but looks better today. Stay safe in the snow in the UK every one! I’m quite sad to have missed it actually 😊

saxonyv · 05/01/2026 08:25

Glad to see lots of updates! Sounds like everyone is doing fairly well and getting into good habits.
Took my last dose a few days before the holidays, but I have overindulged a bit. Not weighed yet but I was a few lbs under goal so could afford to put on a bit.

ive been saying for months I need to get into a new exercise routine but still haven’t! Now the MJ has stopped I do really really need to!
I won’t get approved for another pen as my bmi is in the healthy range so I need to make sure I keep the weight off

You can still get it prescribed for maintenance! I’ve been doing that the last couple of months.

SquishyGloopyBum · 05/01/2026 11:09

👋 everyone. I’ve been quiet recently as had the flu. Now on a post Christmas holiday abroad - I was nervous as it’s my first time abroad with the WLIs. Not sure how I’ll weigh in when I get home (we are all inclusive and the buffets are epic!) I’m trying to be good though.

I was looking back of pictures of me this time last year and wow, I’m a different person. I feel so confident in my shorts. Even bought a bikini!!!

My last order was august so not sure if they would, I’ve been low dosing since then so it’s a big gap

saxonyv · 05/01/2026 11:43

Is Nurse mum still around? Haven’t noticed her on this thread but hope she’s doing ok

Uninvitedleaf · 05/01/2026 12:07

Sounds like we might be able to do some peer support and check ins around exercise now as a few of us are talking about that as a goal, that would be good for me - I know we’ve got some who have done it from early on but I keep saying I’ll sort it out and then don’t quite manage it. Definitely my 2026 challenge although not a resolution as such!

I was wondering if I might need to up dose a little bit as I seem to have been able to eat more over Christmas but I feel like I’ve snapped back into routine quite nicely this week so I’m going to stick with my 6.25mg and see how that goes short term. Will be pleased if I can stay on this for a bit longer. @saxonyv it might be worth asking your supplier what they can do? I am with Swift and one of the reasons I swapped to them is that they have a good reputation for maintenance and supporting after you reach goal, even if you haven’t ordered for a while but need to go back on it. Yours might be similar?

Hope everyone on holiday is enjoying their breaks! We’re off to Portugal next week but only for a few days and will be doing loads of walking so I think I should be able to stay more or less on track. I have ordered two new plain swimming costumes from M&S in the sale but not convinced they will work for me as I still need a lot of boob support. Just fed up with the slightly garish (and super expensive) offerings that have proper bra support and hoping now I’m a bit smaller I might get away with a standard one!

I think if you say you tried without but would like to go back as you are eating more etc. I think monj cover it on their website.

Quick update for my first Wegovy day. Haven't had any side effects. Suppression has been pretty good, especially as I've been drinking wine and eating chocolate etc over Christmas, which obviously spikes my appetite. Have finished eating for the day, and have had about 1,300 calories, which has felt about right; I'm comfortably full. Did feel quite peckish before lunch, but was sated with a protein shake, a portion of pistacios and a Nature's Valley bar.

Pepperwaggytail · 05/01/2026 20:13

Good news about the appetite suppression.
We’ve just been out for a pizza, I left all the crusts and brought two slices home with me. I did another 5k run this morning, so just added up and I’ve run 12 miles this week! My legs are very tired today and we’ve also walked loads after two days of sitting indoor watching torrential rain!

That is brilliant. I wore bikinis on holiday at the end of October - first time since I was a teenager. Definitely got a way to go, but what a difference.

lbnblbnb · 05/01/2026 22:35

To add to the exercise chat - I have started Couch to 5K again. I have done it before, even got up to running a half marathon, but never sorted my eating alongside it so barely lost any weight.

I have found it SO MUCH EASIER now I am 3 stone lighter- unbelievable. I am sure I am still really slow by most runners standards, but me vs me, wow. Very happy about that.

I have decided just to focus on running for January, then introduce Couch to Barbell in Feb.

Im so pleased for you! I’ve been banging on for ages about how much easier and more enjoyable exercise is for me now I’m a few stones lighter. Go for it! 😊

RhaenysRocks · 07/01/2026 07:24

Right well, just weighed myself after about 9 days away and.... have stayed exactly the same since Dec 24th. I suppose that's a win! Still under 12 at but want to really try and push to get into 10 something by April which will be a year. Got a few days til I start back at work so need to get the cottage cheese, rice cakes and chicken back in the fridge, lots of cucumber and eggs and back to it.uch less booze needed too.

Incognitoburrito88 · 07/01/2026 08:14

Just found this in my drafts - I hadn’t pressed post - it’s from Sunday but not much else to add!

Hi everyone - I weighed in today -

SW: 13st 7lb
GW: 10st 7lb
CW: 10st 2lb

I was up at 10st 5 between Xmas and new year and had a fairly indulgent new year so was pretty surprised by this. I’m delighted to have gained so little though (I was 9st 13 on the 23rd Dec). Like others say it’s so lovely not going into January hating myself and planning a diet.

I’m ramping up my running - got a half marathon early February and then marathon in September. My challenge will be balancing fuelling properly with not putting on weight. I’m jabbing 2.5mg every 14 days now. I last jabbed on the 28th dec and was contemplating jabbing today but given my current weight I think I’ll hold off. I’m back at work tomorrow and confident I can be consistent with my eating once I’m back into my routine.

p.s I felt so happy at new year in my sparkly dress and one of my friends walked in on me changing and noticed I have visible quad muscles - I cant believe how happy I am with my body after 4 kids and years of hating myself. Hurrah for Mounjaro!

Lovely to hear from you all - Happy New Year!

SunnySpellsAhead · 07/01/2026 09:07

I'm in the 11's! Only just but this is the 1st time ever that I'll be recording a loss in the new year. Think swimming has helped. I've been a non-exerciser all my life but this is definitely my exercise of choice now. Also, just been reading how good it is for firming loose skin:

"Stimulates lipolysis (fat release) in your hypodermal adipocytes (fat cells inside the skin), to keep your skin fat-free.

Stimulates fibroblast collagen and elastin synthesis, to keep your skin firm.

Stimulates circulation / lymphatic drainage."

Hope this is all true. Re-evaluating my own loose skin, I do think it has slowed and isn't looking quite as bad as I thought (mainly under bum/tops of legs). Would be great if the swimming firmed it all up 🙏
