I've just collected my first supply and wondered if anyone wanted to join in with the journey! I'm on 2.5 and I'm 14st1, goal weight is 12 stone as that is my pre baby weight and we'll see how I feel once I've reached it!

any tips on when to take it each week? I'm going to avoid alcohol and even though snacking is my weakness I think purchasing a supply is going to make me stop in a weird way. Any tips gratefully received and if anyone wants to join the journey for support and no judgment here's the place!

@VioletandMauve Yes, it’s like eating has become a chore. Like washing up or something. It has to be done but you don’t spend any time thinking about it and when you do it’s just done and over and you don’t think about it again until the best time you have to do it 😂

RunSlowTalkFast · 04/11/2025 15:06

VioletandMauve · 04/11/2025 14:51

@tobee - I felt exactly the same as you, I'm on week 3 of MJ now and I can only say it's the most amazing thing ever!

I've got 3 stones to lose, started at 11st 12lbs 3 weeks ago and have lost half a stone since then. Target weight is just under 9 stone - I've not been that for about 100 years (I'm 63)! After you start, you will hardly think about food. Crazy I know but it's true.

That's not a guarantee for everyone, the low doses of mounjaro barely had any effect on me, sadly!

VioletandMauve · 04/11/2025 15:16

@Fifiellz - I know right?!! 😂

@RunSlowTalkFast - yes sorry, you're right to correct me I have heard that it's not applicable to everyone immediately.

RunSlowTalkFast · 04/11/2025 16:07

I think I probably was a bit of an outlier though. When I started I smugly though I wouldn't need a high dose as I was only about 10lbs into the obese category compared to people who were like 5 stone into the obese category.

Wasn't so smug a few weeks in 😄

SexyFrenchDepression · 04/11/2025 16:16

I am slightly hungrier today, day 4. I ate so little yesterday so maybe its that. I dont necessarily want to eat though, its very strange. I am so desperately thirsty all the time so struggling with headaches, which I am prone to.

Allnewtonyg · 04/11/2025 16:26

Hi,
I started yesterday on 2.5 mounjaro. I havnt really had any side effects and did a short run this morning with no issue. Im a guy 57 years old , 6.2 and 16 stone. Aiming for 14 stone.

Which group have you joined? Would you recommend it?

Team RH - they are £7.99 a month
they are very direct, borders on rudeness and swear a lot so if that’s not your thing then absolutely do not join 🤣🤣

once you input your weight and height et cetera it works out your calories and most importantly the number of protein and fibre grams you need to have a day for weight loss and it takes into account if you are on GLP so they have a special plan. They have a tracking feature and Facebook group etc so lots of support but take no prisoners and highlight that YOU need to do the work and follow their process

I know nutrition is my weakness and that I need to learn to eat better once I come off the jobs or need to maintain so that was a priority for me to get something like that sorted. I’m far too weak willed to do it on my own. I’ve tried over 30 years!

MooFroo · 04/11/2025 17:28

My daily calories are at about 1800 and I’m struggling today - feel exhausted.
Ended up having shortbread biscuits for breakfast which was a waste of 500 cal 😩 but not eaten anything else until around 4pm and had jacket potatoe with mackerel and low fat high protein cheese.
snacks are apple and kiwi

dinner will be bra flakes with fruit and nuts to get se fiber. I know I’ve not had enough protein today but at the moment.see where I can get it in. Unless I make a protein shake after dinner!

StealthMama · 04/11/2025 17:48

Tobee I’ve felt the same, in my late twenities I was never more than a size 6, 8.5 stone. I’d love to get to 9.5 stone or anything under 10 would feel like a miracle but if feels mad that it could be achievable.

but iM only on day 3 of week 1!

had a bit of stomach pain today but the nausea has subsided. Had a small protein yogurt for breakfast, small chicken breast and cauliflower for lunch. Debating what to have for dinner.

i was a bit grumpy at work today, probably because im not actually consuming enough calories, less than 800 each day so far I think.

tobee · 04/11/2025 18:14

Yes as an over thinker @RunSlowTalkFast I've definitely got all the scenarios going on in my head as to how well or not it will go for me. Brilliantly to not at all. And everything in between 🤨🙄😃😃

MoonlightAndDadDancing · 04/11/2025 20:51

Hi! Can I join you? First jab today - can’t believe how easy it was! And how long I have been deliberating about it! Start weight 13stone 10, initial goal weight of 11 stone.

Has anyone had any side effects yet? I’m a bit nervous about getting diarrhoea in work tomorrow 🥴

ArtesianWater · 04/11/2025 21:37

I'm due to start on Friday after a call with my GP. However I have been waiting so long for the GP appt that my prescriber is ready to despatch the second pen before I have started the first. That in itself isn't an issue but I am not sure if I am supposed to increase the dosage for month two - can anyone help? I can't base it on how I feel yet.

MellowDreamer · 04/11/2025 22:03

I have mine in the fridge where it’s been for two weeks. I plan to take first dose on Friday night as I have a quiet weekend to allow for any side effects. This is the only thing that’s stopping me - I can’t deal with feeling nauseous!!!

I had mine unopened in the fridge for 3 weeks! I have done two injections now and haven’t felt sick at all. 🤞

SexyFrenchDepression · 05/11/2025 00:05

I am really struggling to eat, after feeling hungrier this morning I had a protein shake, some chicken slices, carrot sticks and low fat hummus, a banana before about 4pm, I don't feel nauseous at all but just no interest in eating whatsoever. I am way below a decent amount of nutrition.

Does anyone have any ideas for quick protein fixes (low carb) so I can at least get something in. I could have a 2nd protein shake but obv they still have carbs/sugar. I am struggling with the thought of eating anything that is any sort of work.

Also when I have successfully dieted in the past I have stuck to calories, generally have lots of protein but never cut out carbs. My PT recommends 40% protein 30% carbs 30% fat and his clients are very successfully as they do that alongside weight training. Everything i am reading is saying to avoid carbs when on the jabs.

Any help people can offer on good foods to eat that would be great.

Mine never even made it into the fridge, straight out the box and injected. I am hugely impatient.

This is what I'll be doing too but mainly because I'm not telling anyone so can't leave it in the fridge 😄

Fifiellz · 05/11/2025 07:40

@SexyFrenchDepression I have the same problem, I think I got in 700 calories yesterday. I also saw about the low carb thing and I might try that today but I also still have some products left from when I did a vlcd so might just use those for a few days while things settle - at least I know then Im getting the nutrients. General advice seems to be to eat little and often, making healthy choices which you seem to be doing anyway so hopefully you will be fine !

Fifiellz · 05/11/2025 07:41

Day 3 and woke up slightly nauseous. Having some electrolytes for now because I def didn’t eat enough yesterday!

SexyFrenchDepression · 05/11/2025 07:58

I might just stick to general calorie control for this week or so as I know it works for me for losing weight, its juet the longer term I cant keep it up as drink and binge too much! If I stop losing with having the cards I have then I will reduce.

Day 4 for me and I had an upset stomach early hours this morning! I read that it could be a side effect of it slowing everything down. I need to be extra hydrated today and eat more I think.

happysunflowers · 05/11/2025 10:26

I'm five days in on MJ and it has had no effect yet. No side effects and no suppression. I'm glad about the lack of side effects but disappointed in the absent suppression.

Have you looked at the "what I ate today on MJ"?

Might give you some ideas?

That's disappointing but not uncommon I believe. Plenty of posters on here with similar experiences at first.

I feel the same - I've lost 3lb since Saturday but considering I'm overweight I think this just naturally happens depending on how much I've walked that day! No side effects although I do have less of an urge to snack. I guess we'll see how the month goes, and we need to remember we're on the lowest dose!

I’m due my second dose tomorrow and the appetite suppression seems to be wearing off? Hopefully I’ve lost some weight. I’ve bought a vitamin supplement following the advice on here, I need to drink more water though I’m terrible for that!
