I've just collected my first supply and wondered if anyone wanted to join in with the journey! I'm on 2.5 and I'm 14st1, goal weight is 12 stone as that is my pre baby weight and we'll see how I feel once I've reached it!

any tips on when to take it each week? I'm going to avoid alcohol and even though snacking is my weakness I think purchasing a supply is going to make me stop in a weird way. Any tips gratefully received and if anyone wants to join the journey for support and no judgment here's the place!

@biz456 I hope you had the tea

Sounds like too much fat to me, I was thinking not to eat too much fat on this, I'm not saying they're bad food but avocado is a lot of fat

@SexyFrenchDepression I was just asking because that really worries me but it sounds like it was manageable

I haven't felt safe to go out today, but actually, I feel fine just very cold. And it's not cold so it must be taking effect

I should've gone out really I suppose you don't know when a stomach upset will hit I was trying to get ahead of some house chores. Because next week is a really busy week at work. DH wants to go out for lunch tomorrow, but I we'll just eat a salad

SexyFrenchDepression · 08/11/2025 17:22

@RoundandSad yes was manageable, I perhaps wouldnt have wanted to be out on a hike or something 😂

RoundandSad · 08/11/2025 17:26

@SexyFrenchDepression not to say too much but I had E. coli once all they think it was E. coli and I literally could not leave the bathroom so I'm scared of that happening it wrecked my stomach for a month

Oh, definitely wasnt like that, that does sound awful!

RoundandSad · 08/11/2025 17:33

Should say for food today, I had a protein shake home-made

Then prawn and rice and vegetable stirfry, but I only wanted half the plate which is amazing

This is Day 6 for me and I’m down 8 pounds and into the 11’s which is amazing - haven’t been 11 something since 2022. I was 12.12 but naturally lost a few pounds when I started HRT so in total Im down a stone. I have only had positive experiences this week - no side effects at all apart from a bad nights sleep the day of the injection. I have been eating a healthy lunch and dinner, skipping breakfast because I realised my suppression was lowest at lunch so I wanted to fill up then. I have been making healthy choices though and this has been the most positive thing for me - it has totally taken away the want for fatty, sweet foods and alcohol. Im
hoping I continue in the same way after the next injection but if I do have side effects so be it - this is a game changer for me and I wish I had gone for it earlier! I

Wow! That’s a huge loss given you starting weight - go you!

I am still finding it strange that even if its something I love, and previously would be thinking I could eat it all over again, that now i just eat a small amount and am fine.

I had my first test of bottomless cocktails and meal today, I had 2 x mocktails and 1 cocktail which I didnt finish. Had katsu curry, ate most of the chicken and a tiny bit of rice. I just didnt feel hungry which was great. Everyone else drank lots but didnt really notice what I was drinking so that made it easier.

I find it tricky when I can't count the calories, I had an eating disorder as a teenager so it is always difficult for me to get my head round it all sometimes but I actually feel mentally good as I just ate what I needed and nothing more.

MooFroo · 08/11/2025 23:46

feeling fine today on day 6, think I look a bit thinner but weight is about the same.
I’ve done hardly any exercise this week and been awful with water but have been good with food, eating healthier foods and better portion sizes.

I think I’m a slow burner - happened when I used it last year and it took a 3 months to lose a stone but as a pre diabetic with high blood pressure I’m focussed on the health benefits as it was great for reducing my blood sugar levels

PatheticDistraction · 09/11/2025 05:06

I did my first injection on Friday & just have that faintly nervous feeling in my stomach - I had 1 egg on a small piece of toast at around 11 yesterday, some iced coffee, then I didn't eat until dinner - which was chicken in a cream sauce with mash & veg. I did have some chocolate in the evening. Not the healthiest choices- but so much less than I would normally eat. I'm just trying to focus on eating only when I need to & not constantly thinking about the next meal - a whole new phenomenon for me!

I was explaining to my PT thats how it feels for me, like the anxious/excitement feeling when you are too nervous to eat. I don't think it feels like when you're not hungry at all.

Day 2 after dose 2 for me and still no real desire to eat. Its just not on my mind at all, I guess I didnt actually believe this will work but for the first time im a few years I do actually believe I can do this.

Wow! That’s a huge loss given you starting weight - go you!

Thank you! I always lose weight quickly in the first week of any diet. I must have a lot of water weight. The problem is when it then drops to 1/2 lbs a week I lose motivation and give up - hopefully not this time!

RoundandSad · 09/11/2025 13:52

I never lose weight in the first week

Was really bloated last night

Today, very confused by whether or not I'm hungry.

TheP1per · 09/11/2025 15:23

I’ve had my first injection today. Can’t believe how easy it was to do.
SW 14st 9lb
TW 10st 5lb although I’d be happy to go a bit lower. Pre baby weight was 9st 10lb (back in 2009).
I’m 45 and 5ft 5 so things needed sorting. The weight started piling on after I turned 40. I’m going to try really hard to eat more healthily. I think white toast with butter and marmite and chocolate are my main problems. And I’m not very active.

PatheticDistraction · 09/11/2025 16:59

So I've not been hungry as such today - and definitely eating less - but still could mindlessly munch through 20 roast potatoes - also had some chocolates. I can't say I had cravings, but it's the mindlessness of my eating that still seem to be there. Obviously it's early days - so hopefully I can knock this on the head too!

Springbaby2023 · 09/11/2025 20:42

I’ve just ordered my first injection after thinking about it for months! I’m so nervous, mainly about side effects but also weirdly I’m worried that it will make me miserable because I love food. But then I have also been miserable recently with putting on weight and being unable to shift it.

I have been doing strength training for the last six months so I’m hoping that will help reduce any muscle loss, I really don’t want to lose my strength but do want to lose my fat.

SW is 14st 5lb ish, will weigh in on first injection day.

I would like to lose just two stone, I’ll still be ones but I want to get to a weight that is manageable for me to maintain and I’ll be happy just not to be obese.

Has anyone been miserable since starting or is that an unfounded fear of mine?

Any other tips?

No idea how long it takes from ordering to receiving.

RoundandSad · 09/11/2025 21:10

@Springbaby2023 mine was ordered at 9:30 in the morning and arrived by 1 pm in the next day

Not sure how I feel today. I think I'm okay. Did some stretching and felt quite weak and achy. Have obviously tried to eat well so I don't know why the week and achy maybe because new medication inside me

I'm really hope tomorrow is okay I was ready for side effects and didn't really want to leave the house but obviously I have to go to work

Quite like to compare what others are eating

So today I've had a home-made protein shake in the morning and a black coffee

A cannellini bean salad at lunch was actually really nice even though they put paprika in it I forgot to ask them not to

I thought I was full but got weirdly hungry and then had fish and root vegetables for dinner and also ate a couple of crackers during the day, That's not good is it

All small portions, though

This is my fear too! Also literally everything I do for pleasure relates to food/drink - my entire social existence.

So far I am still enjoying food, but not constantly obsessing about the next meal/ treat etc. I feel as though I could easily resist stuffing my supermarket trolley with crap. I still have to put a bit of effort into resisting eating more than I need - but if the food wasn't there I wouldn't miss it if that makes sense? Also minimal side effects for me at this point.

It's still (very!) early days - but so far so good. Good luck to you!

Hi mumsnet ppls…i am a total n00b and have just ordered mounj from Bolt pharmacy. Took the gross full body photos instant ick sending them to a stranger to review if i am worthy of the jab lol.. 14st and 5ft6. I’m unhealthy, wfh and cant spell excersize let alone do it. Hoping the cost of the jab will be a kick up the bum to make it happen.. Or double guilt on the horizon! Aiming to get down to 12 stone… ordered a bunch of nuts, oats, soup, and dried fruit from morrisons, written mounj notes… what can go wrong? Might even use the cross trainer thats been in my garage the last 3 years.. any ideas how long bolt take to approve?

Springbaby2023 · 09/11/2025 21:20

@icanhazwillpower Oh I’ve just ordered off Bolt too!

RoundandSad · 09/11/2025 21:20

@icanhazwillpower I hated sending photos too I can't even look at photos that are supposed to be flattering because I looked terrible like a weeble

TheHappyHedgehog · 09/11/2025 21:28

Did my third jab on Friday night so (after originally starting on a Sunday, I’ve moved it back a day each time so I now have it on the day I think will be best).

I had 4 days of relentless headache last week which has now gone thank goodness. No idea if that was linked to the drug or not.

Replacing one meal with slimfast shake is working really well for me (I also really like them!) but they are not high protein and I keep reading need to increase protein on the jabs. I don’t like thick or lumpy shakes. Is there a higher protein tasty chocolatey alternative to slim fast anyone recommends? Ideally a ready mixed bottle not one I need to make up.

Take a look on amazon, there are loads of lovely chocolate shakes on there. I had area or for goodness shake. Decent amount of protein.

I am using protein works at the moment, they are more gritty that the ready made ones definitely! I may go back to the ready made ones even though they are a bit more expensive.

SexyFrenchDepression · 09/11/2025 22:41

I'm definitely feeling more normal in my 2nd week.

I felt a bit out of it last week, appetite suppression is still there but not so extreme but hopefully it means I can eat a bit more and have more energy for the gym etc. I really struggled last week. I am more tired than normal but I generally have so little sleep that I think now on MJ I do need more.
