I feel a bit deflated. I really was hoping by week 6 I’ll have lost 10kg which would be nice round 10% of my starting weight. Yet, the scales stubbornly show 91 kg. For the whole past week.
Last Friday work do resulted in more alcohol consumption than I would have liked. Yesterday, another blow - lunch with a friend, had pizza (bad choice but could „afford it” I suppose, as within my calorie limit of 1000-1300 per day and virtually no carbs). Went into Zara, wanted to get a new pair of trousers, hoping to fit into an L. Nope. No L for me. Having lost nearly 10kg still XL. Pants.
We are meeting old friends today and again it will be difficult to get out of drinking and eating. I’ve been pretty good with calorie control and food choices but dread the coming festive season.

SecondCircuit · 09/11/2025 10:33

I didn’t plan to go higher but maybe I should up my dose. How do people take 3.75mg?

WeAllHaveWings · 09/11/2025 11:15

@SecondCircuit sounds like you are on the cusp of that 10kg so try not to feel deflated. Almost 10kgs in just 6 weeks is rapid weight loss and sometimes the nice rounded off numbers just don't happen as quickly as we like and natural fluctuations are to be expected.

It is possible your carby meal yesterday has caused a bit of water retention that a meal of similar calories but protein based wouldn't have (I had some salted crisps last night and they are likely the cause of my 1.2lb gain overnight - but I know, as I have seem it before over the last year, it is not fat and will likely disappear by next week!)

I remember in the beginning with Mounjaro the difficult balance of excitement/ disappointment/impatience that I'd hadn't lost more at each weekly weigh in and the concern/fear I might be losing too fast to be doing it healthily. For most of us on this thread this will be a marathon not a sprint and for me it took a while to fully realise that.

I found dropping down sizes seemed to take forever in the beginning - took me months to go from 22 to 20, but each of 20 to 18 to 16 to 14 was much quicker. Or perhaps my patience had kicked in!

Keep watching how your body is responding to the medication, and notice how it responds to how you are eating and drinking (weight, measurements, cravings, calorie and portion control, calories vs macros). Experiment with ways of eating, hitting macros to work with the medication. Work out ways you can make and enjoy better choices in different situations, accept there will be a trade off to be made sometimes.

Your weight loss has been rapid so far, I would be cautious of what sound a little bit like a knee jerk decision to increase dose based on being slightly short of a round number. Do you have other reasons for considering an increase after what are great losses?

MooBaggage · 09/11/2025 11:34

@SecondCircuit It sounds like you're doing brilliantly - really good weight losses in a short space of time!

I agree that it's eternally frustrating when there are days/weeks when things seem to stand still. I'm on about 10 days without any loss and it seems FOREVER....

Also agree that the size loss seems greater a few months in - even though my loss is much smaller and slower now, the difference in my size and how I look is tons bigger than it was at first.

Keep going and I wouldn't increase the dose if you're still losing 1 - 2lb a week. Lots of water and protein! It's happening and will keep happening - onwards and downwards 🙂

GiveMeWordGames · 09/11/2025 11:58

@SecondCircuit what everyone else said about losing really well so far. 9kg in 6 weeks is great. You've averaged over 3lbs a week, which probably means - taking into account the first week or so of bigger losses because water/glucogen/inflammation - you're spot on the top end of healthy loss at 2lbs a week.

AND Zara is notorious for their self-esteem murdering sizing aren't they? It's one reason I have never shopped in there. But also, yes, the intial size drop seems to take a while. It felt like forever to get down from 20/22 to 18 (because the reality was I was probably bigger than that and just accepted things being tight) but 18 to 14 seems to have whizzed by.

InfoSecInTheCity · 09/11/2025 12:22

On the sizing thing, think of it like a kitchen roll, at first when it’s full removing a sheet makes no difference, and you have to use loads before the roll looks visibly smaller. Towards the end taking off a sheet is immediately noticeable. I post about 30 lbs before I needed to make changes to my wardrobe, then every 10-14 lbs necessitated new clothes.

ShrankLastWinter · 09/11/2025 12:30

@SecondCircuit nearly 10 kilos in 6 weeks is crazy fast! You really should not be frustrated with that! I lost a nice steady kilo a week and thought that was good going. Optimize your diet for nutrition with your calories and be a lot nicer to yourself! You're fixing your health for the rest of your life now.

SecondCircuit · 09/11/2025 12:44

Thank you @WeAllHaveWings @MooBaggage @GiveMeWordGames - you are probably right. Very true about the waves of excitement-disappointment-impatience..

I drink plenty of water (always has been so it’s nothing new or problematic for me) and don’t really get hungry. So I will stay at 2.5mg. Just more patience required😅

gimmemounjaro · 09/11/2025 13:09

Try to enjoy this exciting period of change @SecondCircuit - it will be the last time you do this after all. And maintenance is quite boring by comparison!

alltablenochairs · 09/11/2025 18:32

@sellthebigissue if its Mounjaro you are after, have a look at monj.co.uk. If you're buying mounjaro (commonly referred to as MJ), make sure that it comes from a registered pharmacy (and check them out if necessary).

@ravingandbehaving my top tip would be to drink a minimum of 2L fluids a day. Oh and if you feel the cold get yourself a heated blanket. A few of us have them and they're fantastic.

alltablenochairs · 09/11/2025 18:47

@SecondCircuit you might find that going down clothes sizes is a bit more subtle than one day you fit in a size 16 (for example) and one day you now need a size 14. And different clothes fit differently. To put it in perspective I'm wearing a tunic dress that I used to wear pre-MJ but which now hangs on me totally differently and a pair of size 16 cords I wouldnt have even got over my thighs a year ago, let alone all the way up.

I've lost 40kg in a year now. I dont carb count, exercise, go to the gym or any of that. I did lose approx 7 months of data after I ran over my phone and mangled it (I'm a wheelchair user btw!) but I do remember that my weight loss was more in the beginning and even now I have periods where I dont lose anything. MJ is anything but a quick fix for me- I had a starting BMI of 45. However it has and continues to work.

DottyMcDiet · 09/11/2025 19:31

I find that I can have a couple of weeks where I stall and STS or even have a slight gain 😮 but it doesn’t last and I’ll then have a decent loss.

I’ve lost 20% of my body weight but am still not in size 20 jeans. My 22s are too big, I need a 21!

Slowrunning · 09/11/2025 20:47

Arrrggghh - I hate all the variations in clothing sizes.
I have bought lots of clothes on vinted during the last 10 months and sold quite a few too. I've twice bought the exact same dresses in multiple sizes as I've gone from a size 18-20 to an 8-10 and I've really enjoyed the process but I am struggling at the moment to get things that fit me.

I have some lovely jeans in a size 12. They are now too baggy so I purchased the same ones in a 10 and they are much shorter so sit too far up my ankles. I'm only 5ft6 so not exactly tall. I tried again with a slightly different pair and they are also too short.

I have just collected a monsoon dress in a size 8 that I thought might be too small and it is too big and a pair of M&S work trousers in a 10 that are also too big!

I didn't spend much money and I'll just relist them but it's frustrating.
After many years of hating clothes shopping I have a real aversion to changing rooms so vinted does really work for me but I am feeling a bit disheartened.

A previous wise poster once said that life is too short to wear ill fitting clothes and I really took that to heart. After working so hard to lose over 7 stone I am not going to settle for clothes that are not right.

ShrankLastWinter · 09/11/2025 22:08

@Slowrunning it’s incredibly annoying that clothes in smaller sizes are also shorter!

Darlinghag · 10/11/2025 10:31

Hi all, checking in as i promised last week.

i have gained a few pounds since I stopped making an effort - back to 13st 0.9lbs. Onwards! Committed to doing better and while I initially wanted to get to 12st by Christmas, if I get to 12st 7 i will be happy!!

I’ve upped my dose this week. I did 7.5 for 3 months, then moved to 8mg in February and stayed there ever since, but while appetite hadn’t increased (in the physical sense) food noise has been wild!! Probably due to a chicken and egg situ of feeding the monster, but I struggled to control it!!

So I’ve shifted up to 9mg this week, lets see if i can make that work a while, feels like it today!!

I’m back tracking my cals and reducing my UPFs/sugary foods too, I know I make it harder for myself when I eat crap, even if its in a deficit!

have a good week folks!!

RobinEllacotStrike · 10/11/2025 10:35

very slow progress here but I have finally lost about 1.5kg and now I am below 80kg!! 79kilos - total loss 45kg/99lb

My size 14 jeans are all a bit loose in the waist - I was in a charity shop and was looking for size 12 jeans. I tried a pair on and they fit perfectly - they are stretch and snug but very comfy. £7 for jeans that could have been made just for me & i only tried opne pair on. win win win!

GiveMeWordGames · 10/11/2025 10:45

Hope the dose bump bears fruit @Darlinghag and well done on your size NSV @Reginaphalangeeeee

Jab day. I am 1.25lb down this week. This seems to be about my new normal now I'm closing in on my goal and since I went below 13st.

SW 17st 4
CW 12st 9.25
GW 11-12st

I'm off to the corporate gulag in France again tomorrow until the end of the week. I'll be wearing jeans a size smaller than when I last went which given it's less than 2 months ago I'm pleased at.

I think my newfound Vinted addiction will be paused until they sort out their overnight sizing change clusterfuck. It's a complete mess on there.

gimmemounjaro · 10/11/2025 11:01

Ooh what’s happened on Vinted @GiveMeWordGames?

gimmemounjaro · 10/11/2025 11:15

OMG that’s annoying - I have loads for sale on there at the moment!

gimmemounjaro · 10/11/2025 11:20

And it’s now all on at the wrong size 😭

Darlinghag · 10/11/2025 11:23

Its a pain! I always say send you feedback via the app to vinted! I am not changing my listings, they will revert this change is my guess, they often make controversial decisions and then backtrack when people complain on droves!!

gimmemounjaro · 10/11/2025 11:23

Think I might change all the sizes to ‘other’ and just spell it out in the heading and the text part 🤔
