@Sam187
I joined a gym a month before before I started MJ. I was very unfit at that time as I hadn't done any activity for over 5 years.

I started beginning of August with Zumba and Aqua Aerobics classes, plus walking.
I now do a mixture of Power Pump (weights) twice a week, Aqua Aerobics and Body Conditioning.

I tried Fitness Rebounding for the first time 2 weeks ago, it's great cardio but tough for me because it's straight after one of the pump classes. Today I tried another new class - Kettlebells, and it was really good...!

This is how my body has changed since I started taking MJ.

FYI... I'm 55 years old.

**

Thursday was jab day - no weight loss, an increase of 0.3kg / 0.7lbs
My water drinking hasn't been as good during the week, and my sleep has been all over the place.

I'm still on 5mg (5th dose) which I take from a 7.5mg pen.
I can go long between meal times (maybe too long - 7 to 10 hours), but I'm starting to have the urge to nibble.

Last weekend I ordered a 12.5mg pen from Bolt (to take advantage of Black Friday prices), 2 weeks after I ordered a 10mg pen from Pharmacy2U.

I received an email from Bolt asking me to let them know when I will be taking my first dose to align my treatment plan and future refills - "... let us know when your first dose with us will be, and we'll build your schedule around the correct starting point."

This is quite a first for me... I don't know what date to set it to because if I stay on 5mg then I won't finish the 7.5mg and 10mg pens until 26/03/25

*sorry for the long post... I started writing this earlier in the week and forgot to post it... I'll catch up with the other posts shortly

Here are the images I forgot to include
See how my weight was all over the place this week?

@maz99 I was up and down and up and down again too between 12st 3lbs and 11st 13lbs this week.

Just noticed my metabolic age changed again this week and I am another year younger. That’s 4 years younger than the start of this year! Although my wrinkly body yells another story 🤣

Typo - yells = tells, but yells might be more accurate!

Bunnyjo · 07/12/2025 09:54

It's fabulous to read of so many great losses over the last week. After a bit of a slow start to the week, I have lost another 4.5lb since last Saturday - Mounjaro really does seem to be the difference for me this time

SW: 15st 5.5lb
CW: 13st 8.5lb
Loss: 25lb
Current BMI: 33.75
Target Weight 1: 12st 2lb (overweight BMI)
Target Weight 2: 10st 2lb (healthy BMI)

I had targeted my next mini target of being under 13st by the end of the year. I think this might be a stretch, but I am going to give it my best shot.

HumBumBum · 07/12/2025 10:36

No loss again for me this week, despite being on track and careful. I’m blaming the slight increase on some tortilla chips I had for lunch which are v salty and probably causing water- retention.

My goal at the moment is to lose 2lbs by Christmas so that I can relax a little over Christmas week (maybe eat some chocolate, drink some wine - if I can handle it!). But things are moving so slowly these days I might not get there.

SW 245lbs
CW 163lbs (82lbs 👋)
TW 150lbs

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 07/12/2025 12:38

Those are great stats @WeAllHaveWings I have been trying to break the 10 stone barrier and get into the 9s for what feels like a couple of months and with the festive period I doubt it will happen in 2025 😂 I need to reach 9 stone 12 but currently stuck at 10 stone 2lb. Ideally my target to give me a buffer is 9 stone 7lb.

I did a Bolt order on Friday and it arrived today just to take advantage of first discount. No issues with them at all.

MooBaggage · 07/12/2025 12:42

I go up and down within a couple of lbs on a daily basis. I decided months ago that I would take the lowest weight I am each week as the weight to record. It's way better for my mental health that way! And invariably, even if I've gone up since that weight, I get back to it within the next week or so.

So this week I've had 2 x 14 st 3lbs recorded, which is my lowest weight to date, plus a couple of 14st 4lbs, which I won't record this week. Just shan't!

My 14st 3lbs today was low within the lb, so gave me a BMI of 30.2 😃

I tried to force my pen to turn the extra clicks this evening and it broke - can anyone advise me on how to do this successfully? I have needles to extract the bonus dose but if there’s a knack for just turning the top, I’m listening 🙂

As Sunday is jab day for me, I’m recording my stats.
SW in June 18.5.8
CW 12.11.0
So that’s 5 1/2 stone off which is 30% of my original body weight!
Several stone still to go, I don’t have a specific goal weight.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 08/12/2025 11:21

I didn’t think the hard twist method worked any more. I have always used the needle extraction method.

RobinEllacotStrike · 08/12/2025 11:37

I've been on MJ for 16 months and I've never had success with the "hard twist" - its merely a myth to me 😁

alltablenochairs · 08/12/2025 11:46

The only time I have ever had any success with the hard twist was my very first pen ages and ages ago.

Has anyone else heard the talk that the MJ pens are going to be redesigned so that the residual liquid is greatly reduced and the 5th dose can no longer be extracted? FWIW I don't use this but I do know others do.

GoingDownDown · 08/12/2025 11:49

I’ve never been able to twist the last dose.

I’ve also heard that people have started receiving pens which don’t have the extra dose. Inevitable, I guess.

RobinEllacotStrike · 08/12/2025 12:16

Its Xmas party week for me this week - I have work parties and/or lunches Tues/Wed/Thurs all in London. I'm exhausted already, though as someone who WFH in jeans & a jumper I am looking forward to getting dressed up a bit & circulating in society.

Ideally I'd like to not drink, but realistically that is never going to happen. But I'll alternate alcohol with water & pace myself.

nailslikeknives · 08/12/2025 21:32

Thanks for all the replies about the hard twist for the final dose. I guess I’ll chalk it up to an urban myth Grin

WeAllHaveWings · 08/12/2025 21:36

@nailslikeknives hard twist worked for my first few pens last year but then they seem to have done something to make the pens break when you try it, syringes are the easiest (until they stop that too)

nailslikeknives · 08/12/2025 21:39

Thanks weallhavewings, it’s a shame they stopped

maz99 · 08/12/2025 22:52

@WeAllHaveWings great job... I can't wait for mine to come down. How long did it take you? My scales has me 6.5 years older than my actual age.

@nailslikeknives I've been on MJ since end of August and I have never bothered to try the hard twist method. It just seemed like a lot of things could go wrong to me, so I've just used syringes

My little NSV that I forgot to mention... all of my XL TUI exercise leggings no longer fit like leggings... saggy in he crotch and loose on the waist, legs and ankles. I had to buy a couple of L sized leggings

alltablenochairs · 08/12/2025 23:52

Another NSV.
I dont often go in DH's car because I have my own van he drives. However it was raining v.hard on Sunday and we needed to go out. Because powerchairs and torrential rain are a bad idea he took his car and my manual chair (that my 12 year old ended up pushing me in- that got some looks!). I have a harness in his car that looks a bit like a rally car harness because I cant support myself in a standard car seat. I cant remember the last time I was in his car and it shows because the entire harness needed adjusting.

One of my cats seems to have adopted my heated blanket as her own. This is not a good thing because I've come to bed the past few nights to find said cat firmly asleep on the blanket. Shes also not afraid to whack you either if you try and move her and she does look very cute when asleep. For the past 2 nights I've had to make do with my pre-MJ pile of blankets. Its just not the same and I am back to freezing cold again because of the damn cat.

Some slightly less good news is that the past few werks have been somewhat hectic. Life, kids, work. There have been a few slightly less than good dietary choices. And some downright awful ones like the half packet of chocolate hobnobs the night the kids were really on my case. Unsurprisingly I keep losing amd regaining the same kilo over and over and over again. I dont get and never have had appetite suppression with MJ. Just a total indifference to food. I suspect though that I am beginning to become tolerant to it which is a PITA as I am on 15mg.

NotsosunnyShropshire · 09/12/2025 06:44

I started at 260lbs which is apparently 18stones 5 lbs. This morning I was bang on 15stones. Looking forward to being in the 14’s next year.

Goingincirclesstill · 09/12/2025 10:09

Winning and losing!
NSV in that daughter was sorting through her clothes and I have acquired a hoodie and a brand new size 10 skirt that fitted!! I am definitely not a size 10 but will take that....obviously didn't tell her I had kept them so will see if she notices....

But sadly my wedding ring seems to have literally dropped of my cold hand and I can't find it anywhere :( Lost 9 stone and now a precious ring...feels really weird so be careful everyone

RobinEllacotStrike · 09/12/2025 10:25

Another 1.5kg down this week.

I can no longer take HRT so docs have switched me to an anti-depressant which is used off book for women who can't take HRT for hot flashes etc. And it is making me a bit nauseous and that is probably helping things - it can take a few weeks to get used to it apparently. Still eating healthy but no appetite.

Total loss 48 kilos
SW 124kg
CW 76kg

I calculate that as a loss of 39% of my starting body weight.

My dream interim "goal" that I never thought would be possible when starting MJ was to lose 50kgs. I may go for a few more - I still haven't got my hip/weight ratio in balance, and at 25.4 my BMI is still "overweight".

gosh I am thinking at this rate I might get to my intial goal of 50kg loss by Xmas! Oh if it weren't for all those pesky Xmas parties!

My wedding ring now fits me again. It’s my engagement ring that I want to get on but my fingers seem bony already but I must have got it over my knuckle all those years ago.

Hopefully you will find your ring somewhere

When changing suppliers, will the old provider be notified of the change?

I don't think so... but does it really matter? I can't see any benefit for them to do so.

I've used 4 suppliers for 5 orders so far
They all ask the question on the consultation form if you're already taking WLI and I think of them ask to choose your previous supplier from a list.
