@Reginaphalangeeeee @alltablenochairs I absolutely respect everybody's right to privacy and agree that, in a perfect world, people would be more discreet. I just decided, in that split second, to own it and fight my corner if I needed to although, luckily, that hasn't happened.

NSV - while I still have a bit of a belly that whole B belly thing has pretty much gone. Today I am wearing fitted straight jeans and a fitted top and my boobs look great - they are independant (well in a bra but YKWIM) above a flat belly as opposed to sitting on top of a big B.

I think this is the first time in my adult life that I feel comfortable wearing tops tucked in or fitted. I don't feel that I need to hide my tummy or bottom under loose clothing.

My silhouette has completely changed. I have a 360 shaped waist now too.

I do have loose skin but its manageable in winter clothing.

QueenOfHiraeth · 03/12/2025 11:11

@InfoSecInTheCity I had my first "posh do" since my weight loss this week and realised I need scaffolding rather than underwear now!
My victory though was that, as nothing fitted me and I don't want to spend a lot on things I won't get much wear from, I bought a cheap formal dress from a Chinese site and got loads of compliments. It cost me £13.50 if |I remember correctly!

Hi all, I was wondering what we are all doing for exercise at the moment - e.g what types, how long a session and how often? I do like exercise but am struggling with tiredness and feeling weak - I also broke my leg in the summer so am only just getting back to exercising after a long time of being immobile - and am obese which makes it hard!! I’m aiming for walking on treadmill for half hour twice a week, strength training for 40 mins twice a week and swimming twice a week. Finding it hard to actually achieve though as I just feel knackered!! (I’m just over a month in and on 5mg currently)

UnimaginableWindBird · 03/12/2025 13:45

I hired a personal trainer art my gym for lifting weights, and she had been amazing. She has given me a pretty straightforward routine and I see her once a week and she makes tweaks to improve my form and make allowances for various things that my body does/doesn't do. This has totally changed how I feel about the gym.

I lift weights 3 times a week, and then I swim or go on the exercise bike another 2-3 days a week.

@bakingmad123 I started at Hot Pod Yoga just over a year ago. I go most days - usually 6 days a week. I did 290 classes in a year (costs me about £3.50 per class).

Its quite dynamic challenging yoga, in 37 degrees heat. I started out wanting to throw up every time I bent forward but it has shaped my body & got me really fit & strong. My progress has been delightful & I feel super powerful doing this too. The changes in my body, along with the MJ has worked really well. I feel "rebuilt" & I'm also fairly toned. I see a little progress in every classs. I could never to boat (for example) and this moring I was holding my boat pose very comfortably.

I would like to do more walking, but realisitically that won't be happening over winter.

I do cycle a bit but less as winter settles in.

If there is a Hot Pod near you most studios do a 2 week trial pass for a reasonable sum (about £20) so you can check it out.

My exercise is completely random. I have a 9kg dumbbell on the kitchen worktop which I use throughout the day whenever I am cooking or making a drink, I do 5 different sets 4 x week roughly. I do 100 x 1 legged knee dips (not proper squats) each time I brush my teeth. Plus various tai chi exercises throughout the day, 50 reps of each move twice a day.
I also have resistance bands and an exercise step, but they are currently out of favour.
It is all very as and when I remember. I work from home and its a good way to get me off my backside.

dimples76 · 03/12/2025 17:08

I have a personal trainer who I do weight training with once a week then aim to go to the gym 2 or 3 times a week. At the weekend I do online Zumba style classes. I am planning to start couch to 5km in January. This will be my 3rd attempt. I haven't made it past week 3 before but I was trying to do it when heavier and not as fit as I am now.

RobinEllacotStrike · 03/12/2025 17:18

I did C25K about 10 years ago and did quite well on it. I'm lighter now and it would be interesting to see/feel the difference. Of course I am older too. Maybe in 26.

One thing I've noticed when i go dancing, is I can really move my body very differently now. But I am somehow stuck into old learnt ways & limits of moving. I saw a woman doing lots of jumping recently (while dancing) & I realised I could jump lots now & it was FUN!! My ankle and knees can cope & I can move very vigoriously if inclined to do so.

So do try new things as you get lighter. These new bodies need to be shown / taught that they can make new moves now.

Seahorsesplendour · 03/12/2025 20:00

I’m a Lucy Wyndham-Read fan on YouTube! Even on days I can’t be bothered I can mostly convince myself to do a 5 min toning or stretching one!! So many to choose from and very kind on my battered knees & still overweight body!! My fitness has improved massively from doing it most days.

GoingDownDown · 04/12/2025 07:34

I know this is going back a couple of pages, but on the comments. There’s a mum at school who has clearly lost a lot of weight and I must admit my automatic feeling was “oh, she’s too thin now”. But I properly had a word with myself, she’s absolutely not too thin, she’s just very slim and I’m used to seeing her overweight. And obviously I didn’t say any of this out loud! But then I worry what if she thinks “why isn’t anyone complimenting me?” So my go to is now a more general compliment (“ooh, that dress looks lovely on you”) which I hope is the right thing to do.

Still moving slowly down here. Currently once a week I have a strop that MJ is doing nothing for me (I’m on 12.5) and I’m going to stop because it’s too expensive, and then the scales inch down a pound and I feel like virtually any amount of money is worth it to see the slow creep down instead of the slow creep up!

What is getting expensive is buying clothes 😂. I’ve run out of jeans in smaller sizes so I walked in to a normal shop on the high street and brought two pairs! Must have been ten years ago that I last did that rather than having to order online. Down from bursting out of 24s to comfortably in 18s.

RobinEllacotStrike · 04/12/2025 09:40

"My fitness has improved massively from doing it most days."

This has been central for me too - consistancy!

Turning up every day and doing the moves - when I don't feel like it, I go. Sometimes it takes a huge amount of effort (getting up at 6am mid winter on a wet wil moring like this morning can be brutal), but I get up & go.

And despite the call to procrastinate, snuggle in bed, getting up & going to yoga is the best part of every day right now.

Do whatever you like to do, find something you enjoy. Whatever you decide on, doing it as regularly and consistantly as possible will show amazing results & make you feel fantastic.

Does MJ somehow support this committment & consistancy? I dont know how but it feels like it does. Or it could be that I'm in a different place in life with less ties to the home which is liberating me to find & commit to daily exercise.

dimples76 · 04/12/2025 12:15

Weigh in day for me. 0.9kg down and I have made it to just under 15 stone. I started at 20 stones 4 and getting down into the 14 seemed an impossible dream at the start of the year. I turn 50 next May and I am really hoping that I might be classed as overweight rather than obese by then.

RobinEllacotStrike · 04/12/2025 12:48

thats a fab milestone @dimples76 - great work
Your May goal sounds feasible!!

I'm doing 2 strength sessions a week (at 7am to get it done for the day) and I've just finished week 2 of couch25k. I've also made sure I hit my step count for the last 213 days.

Little and often is the way forward, with gradual increases as it gets easier x

MooBaggage · 05/12/2025 06:49

Yay! Hit the 6 stone loss mark today!

SW 13.1.25 20st 3lb BMI 43
CW 5.12.25 14st 3lb. BMI 30.3

And a very exciting NSV - I got my first size 14 jeans from Vinted yesterday AND THEY FIT! They're snug and I actually don't really like them, but I can do them up 😄

Exciting times. Next stop is to hit BMI of 30 and finally just be overweight - in 2lbs time I think.

Then the magical world of being in the 13 stones 😯

Oh Moo well done!!

SecondCircuit · 05/12/2025 07:49

@MooBaggage well done!! 💪

I ve got something of an antivictory - scales indicating loss of further 1.5-2kg but it’s not reflected in clothes! New trousers bought a few weeks ago that felt snug but doable are really really tight now?

I’m not too bothered - it will be fine in a couple of weeks - just slightly puzzled.
Ah well..

GiveMeWordGames · 05/12/2025 10:03

Well done @MooBaggage ! What a fantastic achievement. And sooooo close to just being overweight as well. AND a fab NSV as well.

I'm joining you in the milestone corner because today, after a couple of weeks of shilly-shallying around the last 1.5lbs, I hit my 5 stone loss. 70lbs gone! I'm within sniffing distance of being in the 11s, my goal range, and a world I don't think my body has inhabited since the 20th century. My BMI is now 26.1, down from 36.8.

Started March 24th. Early 50s. 5ft 8. Currently on 10mg, no plans to go higher. In fact I hope to start titrating down at some point in January.

@SecondCircuit body shape & size through this journey is a weird thing. I have never regularly measured and when I have I've confused myself. You're right, you've totally got this, and it will all settle eventually. I'm still only just a 14 in trousers, and that as ever depends on brand: some of my new 14 jeans are a bit tight to be really comfortable as yet.

MooBaggage · 05/12/2025 10:12

@SecondCircuit My waist measurement has stubbornly remained the same for ages - my hips are down by inches, but my waist isn't budging - even though I'm dropping lbs! Very annoying and weird that I'm losing weight and moving down sizes, but bits of me are taking their own sweet time to shift!

Well done @MooBaggage and @GiveMeWordGames !! Brilliant achievements

Zebracat · 05/12/2025 15:45

Congrats on stats to Moo and Give me. I think my stall may have ended since I went up to 12.5. Weigh day tomorrow so I will see. I feel thinner tho and I have an nsv, of sorts. My glasses keep falling of my face- really annoying!

WeAllHaveWings · 05/12/2025 15:49

Well done on hitting your significant milestones @MooBaggage and @GiveMeWordGames - early Christmas presents🎁you probably only dreamed of getting this time last year!

Christmas tree going up today 🎄, dh working today and I don't have a driver 😒 so frustrated with not getting out as I am still not driving due to ankle - so many things I want to get out for (wrapping paper, new door mat, M&S for some Christmas chocs etc)
