Hurrah hurrah - 1lb off today, so I have hit 80lb lost! And my BMI is in the 30's!!

13.1.25 SW 20st 3lb BMI 43
21.11.25 CW 14st 7lb BMI 30.8

Am massively pleased - I remember my BMI at its lowest being 29 point something when I was put on Metformin in 2002/2003, which helped me lose weight when I was trying to get pregnant after many failed attempts. Then thankfully I did get pregnant and that was the end of being anywhere near that BMI! My NHS records show my lowest BMI being 31 in 2007 - one of my many short lived diets, so to be in the 30s now and heading downwards in a sustainable way is just amazing to me.

Next mini target = to hit 6 stone loss in 4lbs' time!

Right. Will stop wittering on - just happy to be on the journey, as we say in Strictly land 😀

@MooBaggage congratulations. So so pleased for you!
You have done so well!
We started the same day in January this year.
I know I have lost a similar amount but ofcourse started bigger so my milestone are behind you.

Not weighed this week as desperate to see a 2 digit number (under 100kg) and have been hoovering around 100.5 frustratingly.
I have had my period this week so I may risk scales soon.

SW 136kg (that’s 299lbs)
and was BMI 46

BMI now 33
I do actually feel smaller in the last week, clothes a little looser and something feels different when I hug people, I get closer I think. I know that sounds weird but a NSV nonetheless, feeling closer in a cuddle.🥰

SecondCircuit · 22/11/2025 07:45

Still waiting for mine. And shivering in the meantime.

Another reflection on MJ - my changed tastes in food😄

Have always strongly disliked shellfish - now I’m craving prawns and scallops; Never had kiwis in this house as nobody likes them - buying kiwis every week and eating them with gusto; not interested in fresh smelling crusty loaf or baguette; and sadly not interested much in tomatoes that I wouldn’t have been able to live without before.

SecondCircuit · 22/11/2025 07:57

@Reginaphalangeeeee Yes! I agree, feeling smaller and being able to get closer to people.

DD came from uni last weekend and I was hugging her like there was no tomorrow, had that exact feeling of being physically closer😄

SecondCircuit · 22/11/2025 08:05

But I bought a new bra from M&S that somebody recommended here before that virtually put my boobs in a tight cagey squeeze😅 - so felt flatter in chest department. Difference in hugging - immense. 😁

gimmemounjaro · 22/11/2025 10:03

Weigh day for me today after 3+ months of maintenance 🤯

SW: 241.2 / 17st 3 / BMI 35.6
CW: 150.7 / 10st 11 / BMI 22.3
GW: shifted down to 147-154 (10.5-11st)

Dose is now down to 5.5mg and no sign of The Great Regain yet. So this is encouraging news, because worst case scenario now looks like a maintenance dose of 5mg which is doable. Or maybe a Wegovian equivalent. I would prefer to be medication free though if possible.

Omeprazole is moving to 48 hourly next week and I am avoiding any supplements at the mo because I’m trying to see the GP about both coming off O and replacing B12, and I expect they will want to redo bloods. Really feeling it now, so if I can’t get an appointment in the next few days I will give up, I have a B12 injection sorted for Friday and will go from there.

I will be interested to see what happens at Christmas - looking back, last year I carried on losing every week but partly thanks to norovirus. 25-26 Dec will be fine but after that we go to family and traditionally just stuff ourselves for several days. Hmm. Still a bit nervous that I will go up and not come down iykwim.

Anyway - happy weekends to all and congrats on all the SVs and NSVs. What an amazing bunch of losers / winners we are 🤩

Sam187 · 22/11/2025 12:16

@MooBaggage well done on you fabulous stats. You must be feeling incredible. Hope you had a fab holiday.

@gimmemounjaro you are smashing maintenance!

I need 1.6kg off to get to double figures, which I'm desperately chasing 😂. I'm 3.5kg away from being the weight I was when I met my partner 5 years ago. Scary how much weight I had put on since then (18.5kg down now).

My wins this week - finally got my ass back in the gym for 2 sessions - the DOMS are real. In a sadistic way I enjoy them because I know I've worked hard. Today is day 201 of hitting my step target. I can't believe I've got this far. And finally, the big one, totally out of my comfort zone. This morning I did my very first couch25k run, around the park - and I didn't hate it!!! Who even am I? 😂

Appikate · 22/11/2025 15:42

@Sam187 I am also closer to getting into double digits. Currently 101.2kg. Hoping I can get into double digits by Christmas and stay there.. I haven't been under 100kg since I had my first child 8 years ago.

Edited

@Appikate ohh we're both so close. I'm 101.5kg. We can do it 💪🏼

DottyMcDiet · 22/11/2025 18:40

I’m the same @Appikate and @Sam187 😫
I was 100.5 last week and ran down to the scales this morning praying for double figures but was 100.1 😢

It’s tantalisingly close!

Evenstar · 22/11/2025 19:29

I’ve had a lot going on at home,so haven’t posted much but the scales finally shifted again and I am now down to 97.8kg BMI 32.9

I started my Mounjaro journey last October, but had already lost some weight and reversed my pre diabetes before that, my original starting weight was 123.9 kg BMI 41.66

I am hoping to lose another 10kg, which will still be in the overweight category but thin enough for me with my build and being over 60.

Welcome to all newbies and well done to everyone, I have been following your progress even though I haven’t posted much.

maz99 · 23/11/2025 13:23

Just wanted to thank everyone who recommended heated throws.
My order was delivered yesterday - one is VonHaus and the other is Dreamcatcher.
The VonHaus throw is a lot thicker than the Dreamcatcher one.

All I can say... using the VonHaus throw at bedtime felt so lush...!

ShrankLastWinter · 23/11/2025 14:27

Oh hell I’m going to have to order one, aren’t I?

Evenstar · 23/11/2025 17:02

@ShrankLastWinter you definitely need one, currently toasting under mine 🥰
DH and I both have one of these, they’re on offer at the moment

InfoSecInTheCity · 23/11/2025 17:47

I love my heated blanket, tell everyone about it. My current actual favourite thing is my chiminea, I have a covered permanent gazebo in the garden with a sofa and hammock, and I get all cozy in my (knock off ) Oodie with a think blanket and a blazing fire and read in the evenings

Seahorsesplendour · 23/11/2025 19:04

@InfoSecInTheCity that sounds glorious!!!! Enjoy!!!

Mounjarogirl25 · 23/11/2025 21:58

I don't post often but hit 5 stone loss today! Started at the end of March, still have 2 and a half stone to get to goal but only 13lb off a healthy BMI 🙂. Aim is to try and lose 6 lbs by the end of the year if I can and start 2026 in the '11' stone bracket.

I'm on 5mg at the moment, tried to move up to 7.5 twice but both times was very sick on the second week so moved back down. I do get very hungry on 5 and do need to move up so will try 6mg next week and move up in smaller increments.

Well done to everyone on their losses and NSVs!

alltablenochairs · 23/11/2025 22:49

@ShrankLastWinter yes you absolutely should. Or more to the point you should get two. One for upstairs and one for downstairs.

On the topic of fluffy blankets I've gone away for a few days for work doing some direct client work (I'm entirely SE doing consultancy usually from my sofa and often underneath my blanket....). After packing my phone charger, laptop charger and wheelchair charger the next thing in my case was my blanket.

And a slightly TMI NSV but at home I have bath sheets because standard bath towels were more than a bit........ immodest. However the towel in the hotel is a standard size bath towel and actually fit around me. Or to put it bluntly my arse has shrunk substantially and I am no longer baring all.

AnneinEdinburgh · 24/11/2025 05:36

Well done all!

I braved a bra fitting for the first time since losing 5 stone. I have worn elasticated crop tops since lockdown. The last time i wore an underwired bra i was a 42 dd. I sm now a 36f! I went mad a bought 2 underwired bras including one in a lovely silver colour. Still no one apart from me seeing it, but maybe one day!

Onwards and downwards xx

Ooh, well done! You sound like you are virtually my weight loss twin. I started in late March, I'm soooo close to 5 stone off and am a similar amount above a healthy BMI.

And on that note, here's my jab day stats for the week. I'm still where I was earlier in the week when I had the odd little whoosh, but that represents a 2.25lb loss from last Monday so💪

At 35 weeks, or exactly 8 months as it happens. On 10 mg. 5ft 8, early 50s

SW 17st 4
CW 12st 5.5
GW 11-12st

Got my appointment at the pharmacy today. I imagine I'll need to buy two pens to get me through Christmas and New Year so the credit card will be getting a work out. 😫

@alltablenochairs excellent NSV. My bath sheets absolutely drown me now, I love it. And @AnneinEdinburgh well done on the bra size and braving a fitting!

QueenOfHiraeth · 24/11/2025 11:28

I am just debating a change of tack. My weight loss is very slow as I think I'm fairly close to goal but not helped by the fact that I am not eating brilliantly.
I've mentioned before about lots of stressful stuff going on which I won't bore you all with but it does mean I often miss meals or don't have time to plan and prepare like I would normally. This then means I either eat less balanced but easy food or get hungry and a bit queasy so just nibble or I'll grab a protein bar which is not ideal either.
I saw a guy on TT talking about how he stalled so decided to do smaller doses more frequently and that it really got things moving again so might try that.

Has anyone else done this? I think I may have seen it discussed before but haven't got the headspace to look back for it (sorry!)

InfoSecInTheCity · 24/11/2025 11:44

@QueenOfHiraeth I haven’t done smaller more frequent doses but thought I might be able to offer some suggestions for good stuff to have 8n the house for instant food.

  • sandwich section of the supermarket - hard boiled eggs in packs of 2
  • Fridge - babybel, cheesestrings, cottage cheese, wafer thin chicken/ham
  • Freezer - steamfresh bags of veg

Quick meal - steamfresh bag, torn up wafer thin chicken or chopped up eggs, knob of butter, plenty of of seasoning. Nothing to warm tasty salady thing that’s low carb and contains protein in 3 minutes.

QueenOfHiraeth · 24/11/2025 12:04

@InfoSecInTheCity Thanks for the kind thoughts.
I know logically what I need to do but can't quite muster the headspace and motivation to do it, especially when I have got to that hungry/queasy point. I'm spending 2-3hrs a day driving and am also incredibly fussy so won't eat cold eggs(but love hot soft-boiled or scrambled), don't like anything spicy and hate all forms of cheese other than in cooked food, all of which really limits healthy snacks, but I am aware that it is also a vicious circle as the less I do it, the less I can be arsed to!

MooBaggage · 24/11/2025 12:14

@QueenOfHiraeth I hear you re: the CBA-ness of food prep! I'm quite grumbly this week because I'm feeding people 3 times this week, which means I actually have to make an effort 🙄

It's a shame re: the eggs because I was going to give my top tip of hard boiling 3 x eggs on a Monday and then using them in salads for 3 x days that week - means I only have to be arsed once to get a few easy lunches with some spinach and cherry toms! I also cook a packet of sausages on a Monday sometimes (I always WFH on a Monday so get the chance) and can then chop them up into salads - obvs knowing that sausages are actually v bad for you - but at least it's a bit of protein!

I've taken to buying pre-cooked chicken in various forms, to stick in salads, which I never would have done years ago, but am trying to make food as easy as possible now I'm the least interested in it all I've ever been... I think not having anyone else living with me has also made a huge difference - so much harder to get motivated when it's just me.

Having said that, ds2 is moving in for a couple of weeks from next week 😮 I'm massively excited about it as I'll get to be 'Mum' again - but what the hell am I going to do re: meals?! At least he knows about the MJ, so will get that I eat smaller amounts and mainly not carbs - but I'll need to accommodate his mammoth 21 year old boy appetite somehow!

QueenOfHiraeth · 24/11/2025 12:25

Thanks @MooBaggage It's odd that I love eggs warm and soft but hate them otherwise and not liking cheese is a real issue as you wouldn't believe how many snacks, easy foods and even eating out menus are affected.
I think I might try digging out the slow cooker this week and seeing if I can find the headspace for that and if it helps
