@MooBaggagei have those teddie fleeces for my DD, in the dark green and black they are lovely and fluffy.

@alltablenochairs I have a pair of Turtle doves wristwarmers too, they’re fab.i also got some much cheaper ones from Dunelm recently, they’re longer and looser so go further up my arm and down my hand.

@MooBaggageI also knit and crochet, my problem with socks and things like wrist warmers is I get bored by the time I’ve finished the first one so I end up with a little collection of ‘must finish’ projects where I have 1 glove 😀

I am so relieved! after a 3 month plateau my weight finally seems to be consistently moving downwards again.
Half a pound off last week and 1.5 pounds off this week!

Highest weight - 16st 9.5
Mounjaro SW on 15.2.25 - 14st 12
CW - 10st 11
Loss this week: 1.5 lb
Total loss on Mounjaro: 57 lbs (4st 1)
Total loss overall: 82.5 lbs (5st 12.5)

Food noise is nicely under control again which is definitely helping.

Welcome @DivaRainbow !

@maz99 I don’t actually like drinking water either! I mostly have herbal tea. MJ can suppress thirst which can make it even harder to drink. I find I fall behind and get constipated especially when I travel and am not making tea!

I have coffee with chocolate protein powder in for breakfast most days. It’s amazing. Occasionally low fat skyr with fruit and nuts but I can rarely be bothered.

That’s excellent news @Mounjaronewbie25 ! Are you nearly at goal? You’ve come an incredible way.

I’m still at the ‘settling slowly into maintenance’ phase. I want to hit 70.6kg (BMI 23.8/9). Lowest so far is 70.9, so almost there, but I’ve deliberately been losing more and more slowly since reaching 75kg in June. Six months of losing a kilo a week felt like a lot for my body and mind, so I’ve been trying to adjust gently now and also to figure out what I can eat for approximately maintenance. I was also a bit concerned that I was getting too ‘funny about food’ and addicted to losing. But I feel more relaxed about it now that I know I can eat a bit more and still calibrate for gradual loss.

maz99 · 20/11/2025 22:13

@gimmemounjaro That's what I ended up having this morning - a slice seeded sourdough Aldi) and pip & nut crunchy peanut butter... it's the only bread that doesn't make me feel bloated

The dreamcatcher throw looks good... thanks

@GiveMeWordGames I was low carb / keto for quite a few year, which is why fasting is quite natural for me.

Congrats @Mounjaronewbie25 Mounjaronewbie...! When I look at how much weight everyone in this group have lost, it just makes me feel that it would never be me... 7 stones...! 😬😱

alltablenochairs · 20/11/2025 23:10

@InfoSecInTheCity thanks for the heads up about the wrist warmers. Unfortunately I have a real thing about anything on my wrists. All sleeves get pushed up to my elbows and I dont wear a watch, bracelets or anything else. I do wear gloves but these are more like thr convertible mittens type than anything else. Unfortunately my knitting is still at the blanket squares stage or I would make something that wouldnt annoy me.

alltablenochairs · 20/11/2025 23:16

@maz99 my electric blanket is from Sainsburys. Well the one I have downstairs at the moment is- I also have an upstsirs one.
The cat likes my heated blanket almost as much as I do.......

MooBaggage · 21/11/2025 08:52

Hurrah hurrah - 1lb off today, so I have hit 80lb lost! And my BMI is in the 30's!!

13.1.25 SW 20st 3lb BMI 43
21.11.25 CW 14st 7lb BMI 30.8

Am massively pleased - I remember my BMI at its lowest being 29 point something when I was put on Metformin in 2002/2003, which helped me lose weight when I was trying to get pregnant after many failed attempts. Then thankfully I did get pregnant and that was the end of being anywhere near that BMI! My NHS records show my lowest BMI being 31 in 2007 - one of my many short lived diets, so to be in the 30s now and heading downwards in a sustainable way is just amazing to me.

Next mini target = to hit 6 stone loss in 4lbs' time!

Right. Will stop wittering on - just happy to be on the journey, as we say in Strictly land 😀

I have had a difficult week with lots of snacking. I think it’s a combination of the weather and probably hormones but it’s left me feeling quite low. I’ve also been struggling to exercise due to an injury so that makes everything worse.
I am in maintenance but still on 15mg so finding it all a bit scary as I’m due to drop down to 12.5 from today. 😫
It sounds stupid but I’m finding maintenance harder than loosing 😳

MooBaggage · 21/11/2025 09:16

@Slowrunning that doesn't sound daft at all - I'm not looking forward to maintenance at all! I think having the target when losing weight makes it easier to be driven, somehow - something to aim for and work towards. Maintenance is the 'now do this forever', which is scary... Are you allowing a few lbs leeway, to allow for tricky weeks? This is the plan in my head, when I get there - to have a goal weight, with 3lbs either way - am hoping that that way, I'll be able to psychologically cope with small gains and work back to small losses?

Fingers crossed for you that the hormones settle and you find your rhythm again.

WeAllHaveWings · 21/11/2025 09:42

Well done on hitting an amazing 80lbs lost @MooBaggage ! 🥳

It has been some journey, if you think back to when you started and didn't want scales in the house to now proudly sharing your weekly stats! Keeping going girl, you are smashing through those milestones!

Slowrunning · 21/11/2025 09:44

Thank you @MooBaggage I am aiming to stay under 60kg and am currently 57.9 so well within my scope but up 500g just in the last couple of days which I’m finding hard to think is not the start of the slippery slope back to obesity. Especially because I am still on a high dose.
I’ve been overweight or obese for most of my adult life so I know this maintenance thing is going to be hard but I definitely don’t want to be on MJ forever.

UnimaginableWindBird · 21/11/2025 10:12

I had my weigh-in today, and I suspect that this is my last week of being obese. If all goes well, this time next week I will have a BMI of 29.9!

When I started this journey, I was expecting to hit that milestone in the spring, so this just feels unbelievable.

gimmemounjaro · 21/11/2025 10:19

@Slowrunning I know exactly how you feel, have been maintaining since August. I thought every tiny gain was the beginning of getting fat again, it was so nerve wracking. But it hasn’t been, and you do get used to it. I was on 15mg at my highest but lost most of it on 10mg. Now down to 5.5mg and still fine, actually have lost about another 5lbs since starting maintenance and I could definitely go a bit lower if I wanted. Currently my official goal zone is 150-159 but I think I might adjust that down to 145-155. This morning I am 150.7 and that feels pretty good.

I am hoping to come off MJ too, I have enough to last until the spring if all goes well with the dose reduction - I’m doing it super slowly. I still weigh every morning to make sure that if I do reach a dose that’s a bit low and I start to gain, that I know about it straight away.

SecondCircuit · 21/11/2025 13:27

@MooBaggage - that is an amazing success, sincere congratulations!

And your cat @alltablenochairs is gorgeous. There is something painterly about its pose and fur.

And now a question to all of you ladies who’ve been here long and lost such great amounts: could you say that you were losing particularly well on a specific dose?
Did you decide to go up and up until 15mg or you stayed on lower doses?

I am on roughly 1000-1300kcal daily, mostly healthy protein and fibre foods (though had few lapses like pizza, stodgy stew and wine) as 2.5mg MJ keeps my apetite down fairly well.

But the initial wonderful loss has stagnated and I’m of two minds whether to go up or not? I’ve heard people say 2.5mg is not really a therapeutic dose. So perhaps it would be time to go 5mg after 3 or 4 months?

WeAllHaveWings · 21/11/2025 13:42

@SecondCircuit Mounjaro helps you stay in a calorie deficit, the calorie deficit is what loses the weight. If it is already supporting your calorie deficit what would you want the higher dose to do? Going lower than 1000-1300 calories a day might not be healthy for you.

When you say stagnating what are you losses over the last say 6 weeks? It is completely normal for the big losses to slow down, 0.5-1lb a week is what you are looking to aim for, some people are slow losers so might lose slower than that.

What is your TDEE, what is your diet like (are you eating whole foods, focusing on protein, plenty of veg, reducing carbs/sugar/sweeteners and minimising UPF as much as possible, getting in protein targets), are you keeping well hydrated, are you doing some exercise.

Are you accurately tracking calories and macros to see what is going on if you have completed stalled (no weight loss for >4 weeks)?

MooBaggage · 21/11/2025 14:19

@SecondCircuit I found 5mg very powerful - I stuck on 5mg for ages after moving up.

I find asking Chat GPT to work out my BMR and TDEE every now and then very helpful - it'll work it out and I tell it I want to lose 1 - 2lb a week and then it conjures up some meal ideas based on what I like, etc. Helps me re-frame every few months as my TDEE goes down and I get bored...!

OP posts:
SecondCircuit · 21/11/2025 14:22

@WeAllHaveWings Does MJ only help stay in a calorie deficit? So why do most people increase their doses?

My diet is good and varied - example: 100-120g greek yoghurt with some stewed plums and chia seeds; lunch: small bowl of tarka dhal or 1 avocado and egg, eve: 100-150g prawns/salmon/chicken with veg. No carbs. No big portions. No sweets. I’ve never been a sweet person just ate too much pasta, pizza, lasagna and bread.

I’ve only been on MJ 8 weeks and plan 2.5mg for third month too. Lost 10% of my initial weight but I’m just not sure if further down the line with lower weight I would not need lower calorie intake than initial 1300-1200.

SecondCircuit · 21/11/2025 14:32

Thank you@MooBaggage - that’s an idea.
I don’t really (at least not yet😏) miss any food or get bored with my choices. But will consciously seek some alternatives to have a variety.

maz99 · 21/11/2025 14:40

Those of you that short dose using clicks - where do you start counting? Do you start as soon as you turn the pen or after the priming clicks (first 2 clicks)?

I ask because the dose (13th) I took on yesterday was supposed to be 30 clicks from a 5mg pen plus 2.5mg of the golden dose.

I had used this pen 5 x 30 clicks (2.5mg) and 1 x 60 clicks (5mg), so there should've been 30 clicks left but I couldn't turn the pen to the line marked for 30 clicks... there were only 21 clicks. Also, when I used the syringe I could only just get 0.6ml out but according to my calculations 0.9ml should've been left.

WeAllHaveWings · 21/11/2025 14:49

@SecondCircuit some peoples bodies can get used to the medication and the suppression/satiety/control of food noise effects wear off.

You have probably seen the expression "chasing suppression" used quite a lot, sometimes negatively. Many people use this to refer to increasing doses to recreate the early intense suppression.

My own experience is the early suppression didn't last beyond the first few weeks (which was ok for me as I didn't enjoy it), but the feeling of satiety/removal of food noise/control of cravings has stayed longer term and that allowed me to stick to my calorie deficit consistently and for longer than I have ever before, if I ate the food that worked with Mounjaro, and ate mindfully.

Some people will absolutely need to move up doses if effects wear off and they cannot keep to calorie deficit, that will also be the trigger for me, but I am fortunate it hasn't happened yet.

I think there are some studies that say Mounjaro may slightly support metabolism, but that effect by its own on weight loss is minimal, the primary driver of weight loss is calorie deficit.

Forgot to say... I ordered TWO (yes two!) heated throws from Robert Dyas for £69.99 - both have a 2 year warranty

Can't wait until they're delivered on Tuesday/Wednesday 😃

gimmemounjaro · 21/11/2025 14:58

I’m looking forward to my new cashmere gloves - they’ll be here just in time for when the temperature here goes up by 10° 😂

Slowrunning · 21/11/2025 15:10

Thank you @gimmemounjaro that is exactly how I feel. My husband (who has never been overweight) thinks I am potty but I knew people on here would understand.

WeAllHaveWings · 21/11/2025 15:13

4 degrees here today and at my desk loving my new heated blanket with my old cashmere gloves!

I ordered a new pair too @gimmemounjaro when you mentioned the extra 10% off as I hadn't spotted that! Now I can go hot pink or denim blue depending on my mood! 😀

AnneinEdinburgh · 21/11/2025 18:30

Another vote and feline approval for heated throws!
