Roll up, roll up (if you can, you skinny Minnie’s!) to all the brave WL warriors still battling on and hanging on in there.

8 months in … welcome to thread 8! 🥰

This thread I pledge:
to do two exercise sessions per week.
(There I’ve said it. Better do it now, hadn’t I).

Goal:
Find an amazing dress to wear for an awards ceremony I am going to in November.

Anyone else got any particular targets?

Big love to you all x

Brilliant @CoolLimeSheep you have done so well.

@Mounjaroday amazing - I'm glad you've found the space and strength to ask for help. Hopefully counselling aids you without having to medicate. It worked for me.

I received possibly my biggest compliment this week. A colleague asked if I'd lost weight and was saying how well I looked, when a new colleague said, "I've only ever known her this size so I thought that's how she always looked." I think I look like someone that was fat and lost weight so I was thrilled to know that others don't view me the same way - maybe sad, I'm not sure, but I'm happy with it.

SpiralSister · 16/05/2026 17:15

Wotcher, warriors! So nice to see posts on our thread again!

I’m down to just under 10 stone now. In fact 9 stone 12. This is incredible to me as I have not been this weight for at least 40 years. Still going to the gym and seeing some improvement in the loose skin and general tone of my body, 5 months after reaching goal. Tbh and false modesty aside, I look incredible for 58!

Still on the MJ, maintaining at 5mg, and can’t see me coming off. I am so grateful for this amazing, life changing drug and so proud of us all, wherever we are in the journey! 💐

mumandgran24 · 18/05/2026 07:25

Lovely to hear so many are at target and maintaining. I have had a plateau for a while now. I have lost 6 stone but still need another stone or so to get into the healthy range of BMI. But I have gained and lost the same couple of pounds and not made any progress for a couple of months. Finally decided although I want to stay on a lower dose-never been over 5mg and lost the majority on 2.5mg, I need to go up for the final push.
Got a 5mg with a golden dose so will see if I can get an intermediate dose later this week. Then I have a 7.5mg ready to go. I may just count clicks for maybe an intermediate dose or see how I go.

Once at target I plan to increase exercise more and work on fitness. Then titrate to as low as I can and maintain. Woukd like to come off eventually but not sure if that’s a possibility for me. May try going further apart on doses instead.

PurpleCoo · 18/05/2026 10:59

So great to read updates from everone. We have all done so well, whether at goal or not, there are some fantastic achievements between us, each and every one

I am still in a healthy BMI range and have started slowly reducing my doses. I am in no rush, although it's been a few months since I ordered a pen, so might struggle if I need more. The hope is not to. I am taking 7.5mg from a 15mg pen and ready to move down to 6.75mg (pen isn't even half used yet), plus I have a full 7.g pen.

I feel settled at a size 10 and although I am at the top of the healthy BMI I don't think I need to lose more weight as such (quite muscular so small for weight). I don't have major issues with loose skin, but it is a little loose to the point I couldn't wear a bikini or cropped top, so I would like to see some improvement there. Reassuring to hear that some of you have noticed this improving with time

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 19/05/2026 12:12

Good to hear everyone back! What a funny journey this is.
I'm still on WG, stuck to 1.7mg for ages as i was marathon training, pretty much maintained throughout the whole training block where i know people gained 4/5 kilos!
Anyway, i've just ordered a 2.4mg as i'm ready to shift the last bit now and plan to come off (or at least down to proper maintenance).
Current weight is between 67 and 68kg. Target is 63kg....
Oh, did i mention that i ran a whole flippin marathon! 🥳🤣🥳🤣🥳

Wow wow wow wow @ThatJoyousHazelDuck that's bloody amazing! Well done 🎉🎉

I'm signing up for my local 10k for next year in the hopes to give me focus on something.

Zibb · 22/05/2026 22:00

I was hoping that this summer I wouldn't be a hot and sweaty mess. Especially with how bad I've felt the cold. But noooo, still a hot and sweaty mess.

What the heck.

PurpleCoo · 23/05/2026 13:08

@ThatJoyousHazelDuck wow, very well done. What an amazing achievement!

I can climb mountains more easily, but to be fair I think it's more all the squats and lunges rather than weight loss.

@zibb, not sure how old you are, but I find I overheat when I climb hills and mountains now. I think it's peri related as it's worse if my HRT patch falls off. Luckily this isn't often now because I stick it to my bottom where it stays put. Thighs just don't work!

Hi all.
Hope you're all well.
I've been going bloody mad lately, moaning about our new sofa hurting my arse.
It was only when I realised no matter where I am ( friends house, one of my daughters houses, mother in laws house), when I'm sat on their chairs or sofas...my arse hurts. Then I realised its my bloody coccyx!. Padding reduced down there so it really does hurt and feels really prominent too 😅.
Anyone else?
Had a compliment this week also, a lady at the local bingo hall said to me that I'd lost a lot of weight and I look great for it.
All in front of my mother in law, who still has made no comment whatsoever about my 5 stone loss! Oh well. X

My spine! I do a bodypump class and we do weights lying down on a step, and I can feel all my vertebrae digging in. On the plus side, I've dropped three band sizes on my bra, and no longer get 'overflow', so I'm not complaining!

Frustrating your MiL hasn't said anything. Maybe she doesn't want to comment on your body, but get the impression that you think she's ignoring it on purpose?

SpiralSister · 26/05/2026 07:48

Oh yes, the bony arse problem! I have found it’s getting a bit better now, with gym work and doing extra squats. Building up a bit of arse which had got rather flat.

I love being slim but is not all great is it - feel the cold a lot more (clearly not this week!), bony arse, not as cuddly. But on the whole, v glad to no longer be fat and unhealthy.

mummymissessunshine · 28/05/2026 19:41

Omg
yes, me too. My coccyx hurts after sitting on most chairs, including my sofa.
Very annoying side effects of weight loss!!

How is everyone doing?

I am struggling with my loose skin a bit lately. 99% of the time I don't care about it as I can hide it with clothes and I can ignore it but sometimes it just bothers me.

SpiralSister · 15/06/2026 07:50

Morning, @Zibb! Well, I don’t love it. I think lifting weights is helping, but there is definite sagginess at tops of arms and legs. Stomach is not pretty, esp with historic stretch marks. It’s annoying, because I am definitely slim and toned enough to wear crop tops now, only I don’t like my skin there.

I should probably just do it anyway. More than happy to wear sleeveless tops and shorts now despite the skin.

How are you dealing with it?

MJSpideySenses · 15/06/2026 21:05

Hi, I'm finally down to a size 10, from an 18/20. My loose skin is horrible, I really dislike it. I think my arms might tone up to be not too bad, but my stomach is a lost cause and I think I have some on my thighs 🥲 I can't really help but totally get you.

It does get me down sometimes but I am trying to focus on getting fit and healthy. I still have a stone to lose. At the moment, I'm swimming, doing yoga and pilates and the occasional game of padel too. Don't know if I need to add anything else.

What exercise are you guys doing?

I lost 6 stone and had loose skin. Worst on legs and stomach and a bit on arms. I’ve always ran and done circuits/weights so there was muscle underneath.

Ive really hammered the weights. Often just body weight stuff in the garden (or I have some weights at home, up to 10kg) and a bit of heavier stuff in the gym.

A year later and my arms look amazing, my stomach much better and my legs are ok. Not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but this time last year I was so upset by the loose skin but now it’s definitely improved.

MJSpideySenses · 16/06/2026 22:12

Thanks @etchedinstone I haven't braved the gym yet, but think its probably the best next step!

It is good to hear there is hope.

Shortsally42 · 18/06/2026 05:53

Hello all! I have name changed but I'm really glad to see this thread. Well done to all who have maintained! I'm embarrassed to say I've regained 1 of the 2 stones I'd lost. I ordered a new mj this morning. Enough is enough.

Zibb · 18/06/2026 19:50

I've started going to the gym and I'm starting Pilates in a couple of weeks.

I'm down to 55kg now (50kg is the lowest healthy weight for my height) and I don't want to lose anymore but the skin messes with my head and my brain starts telling me I am still fat.

I don't think gaining muscle will make much of a difference after years of extreme yo-yo dieting and gaining/losing so my skin has been stretched beyond any sort of recovery. I added up all my previous weight loss attempts over the years and it totals about 128kg!

I will do my best though, even if it doesn't make a difference to the skin I do want to be strong and fit!

Hersetta427 · 23/06/2026 15:46

Still going here - 7st 7lbs down. going up to 10mg this week. Probably would like to lose another 2 to 2st 5lbs. Plodding away so we will see how we get on. Started Zumba and doing aerobics and some resistance work at home too to try and kick things off a bit.

SpiralSister · 23/06/2026 15:52

NSV - did 8 hours hiking Saturday and 9 hours Sunday (pretty hot!) and managed fine. No way could I have done that 5 and half stone heavier!

Keep on keeping on, warriors! 💐

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 23/06/2026 19:56

Amazing @SpiralSister, love those non scale victories!
